Hey loves!
The Body Shop introduced their newest BB Cream in the market a few weeks ago. I had the privilege to try it out for myself when I received one when I went to their Leona Lewis Press Launch.
The Body Shop Vitamin E Cool BB Cream
What makes this different from the other BB Creams from the brand is that this is more moisturizing. It concentrates on hydrating your skin more than sun protection so this doesn't have SPF. So make sure to put sunscreen first.
Here are some info about this BB from their press release:

This BB Cream has a loooong life span! The expiration date of this one is Jan 2016! 2 and a half years from now! Neat!
Loving the design of the tube. So feminine and refreshing but still simple and easy to the eyes.
The opening of the cap makes it easy to control the amount of product you get and it doesn't leak.
Let's go to swatches!
on paper
on my arm
It appears darker than my skin tone
but when blended, you barely notice any difference in skin tone (At least on me. Not so sure with those who have fairer skin).
My bare face
Just apply a pea size of the product on the face.
And when blended!
It evened-out my skin and lessened the redness. It feels really lightweight—it's close to feeling like it's a mousse BB Cream! The cooling effect is very minimal. You won't feel it if you're already in a cold place or when it's very hot.
This blended well on my skin but some friends that have fairer skin than I do find this color too dark. But this suits most Filipina skin though!
The scent is pleasant so I believe it wouldn't be a bother to those who prefer unscented products. It smells quite organic as most of TBS' products.
This isn't too long lasting on me though. I have oily skin and being a moisturizing product, it made me oil up faster. And when I get oily, my makeup starts to get ruined or fade depending on how much I put on.
I don't recommend this for people with oily skin if they will use this as an underbase for foundations. Besides getting oilier, it made my foundation cake. But alone, this works quite well.
LIKES:
Lessened redness
Locally available
Affordable
Lightweight
Mild-scented
Cooling Effect
DISLIKES:
Can be a bit dark on women with very fair skin
I prefer oil control and more coverage in my BB creams
No SPF
Would I purchase this when I run out? I don't think so since I prefer more coverage the most. And I want my BB Cream to perform multiple actions — moisturize, brighten and with SPF! I like that this BB Cream is neither too pink for asian skin and that the color matches most skin tones though. And I believe this BB Cream is more suited for those who have dry to normal skin since this is very moisturizing.
What do you think of The Body Shop's newest BB Cream?
Have you tried this out yet?
Cheers,
DAWN
It won't be suitable for my pale skin!
ReplyDeleteThanks for review.
So many bb creams in the market but I'm glad to have found my HG one early on :) It's Gold Caviar bb cream, just found it in Sasa as a gift set..
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the SPF, it's a deal breaker for me. Otherwise it seemed like a great BB cream.
ReplyDeleteThis will oxidize as I am very acidic. I miss Body Shop :-) and you as well...
