HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 8

Hi girls!

Week 8 has arrived!
This will be the last installment of the series of giveaways from PPS and HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas.
Time flies so fast! A few days more and it's 2012!

Beauty inside and out. A story of Christmas bliss is yours this week.

When we were kids, mom and dad will tell us to be good most of the time so that when Christmas comes, Santa will leave something for us. We did well in this challenge and had so much fun going back to the year that was. The Holidays call for moments of being together with old friends from college or high school, videoke nights with officemates and reunions with loved ones. Each experience has a unique story to be told and we can’t wait to hear yours.

To end the Christmas week, we’re giving you 4 of our best bath soaps from Body Recipe. You might wonder where is the beauty element here? It’s in the spirit of GIVING the gift of beauty.

Thank you for being with HBC in the whole 8 Weeks to a Happy Beautiful Christmas.
Now, on to the final week’s question:

What is a happy and beautiful Christmas for you?

(Answer the question then post a photo of your best Christmas on your Facebook and include the Giveaway Photo below).

Week 7 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

Monday is here (Oh how time flies)!!

So how was your Christmas?
Did you get what you want for your Christmas gift?
I surely did. :P
Well, 2 more people will be adding more stuff in their 'Christmas gifts received this year' because they just won  8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas Week 7!

And their prizes are these awesome nail polishes from San San!

Who are our lucky winners who answered this question :

What’s your secret to fab-looking nails?

None other than...

*drum roll*

Gizzele Alfonso and Anna Wamilda!!

Here are their answers respectively,

"My secret to my fab looking nails is olive oil, I put the olive on my nails before I go to sleep so that it will become strong and shiny. And also I don’t let my nail polish last for more than 3 days because it can cause yellow discoloration on nails."

and

"My secret for having fab-looking nails is very simple i just use hand lotion to keep my hands and nails moisturized and soft and of course trimming my nails. I'm not really very kikay when it comes to taking care of my nails. But when I want to add a bit of spice to my nails I put on nail polish especially a red nail polish to add sexiness and sophistication! :)"

Congratulations, girls!
Thanks to everyone who joined. :)
Week 8 which is also the last of the series of giveaways from me and HBC will be posted soon !

Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas! :)

Hello, my lovely readers!

I just got home from attending the anticipated mass at the UST Chapel a couple of hours ago.

I just snapped a pic of this year's giant Christmas tree of UST to make a Christmas greeting picture for you (I was trying to make our dog wear a cute santa hat or sit beside the reindeers and presents underneath the tree but I failed miserably... Aki is just too busy getting frightened from all the sounds made by fire crackers outside).

I would like to thank all of you for reading our blog and for sharing your thoughts with us as well! :D

I hope all of you have a blessed day ahead. Celebrate this special day with your family and loved ones!
Happy Holidays, everyone!

Cheers!

Review: Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo Mascara

Hi Girls!

If you've read my posts before, especially FOTD's or EOTD's, I've always been using Maybelline Mascaras. I've been using different mascaras from Maybelline and none of them gave me a major let down so far.

But I want to try to explore other brands.
First on the list is Majolica Majorca.
I really want to try their products (I've only tried a few as of now).
I've seen quite a lot of people satisfied with their products including their mascaras and I actually like the products from MM that I have (foundations, eyeshadows, etc).
This is the first time I'll try one of their mascaras and it's the...

Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo

Just look at that gorgeous packaging! I'm am a huge fan of MM's packaging! I super love browsing their stalls because it's just soooo cute, princessy and elegant and everything I love in a design!

in BK999
...on what else it says, I have no idea since I can't read/speak Japanese. :P

Here's the brush.
It's a fiber mascara. I haven't really used much of those (I'm more on the super volumizing kind of mascara). It's really light. Whenever I apply it after I curled my lashes, It doesn't pull them down unlike some mascaras I've tried.

Here's a before and after look:

First one is my bare eyes. Nothing applied at all. Second pic is my eyes with lashes curled and a coat of Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo Mascara.

My lashes still look natural. It retained my curled lashes the whole day. I didn't experience any clumps in one coat. BUT it doesn't look good with multiple coats. The fibers go in different directions and just looks weird. It's not much lengthening and doesn't give volume.
A big plus is that it doesn't smudge at all. Very long lasting. Quite hard to remove but a good makeup remover should do the trick!

So if you're the kind of person who just wants a natural look for your lashes, you'd probably like this Mascara.
As for me? I'll be sticking to volumizing ones. I have fairly long lashes already, I just want them thicker. :P

I'm eyeing the Max Factor's False Lash Effect Mascara. I really want to try it out next since it's something my favorite Makeup Guru, Lisa Eldridge, use quite often on her makeover looks.

Any other mascaras out there you can suggest?

*Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post. I am not affiliated with the brand mentioned in this review. All items here are purchased by me.

My First Take on Crackling Nail Polish

I know that crackling nail polish has been popular for quite a long time now.
And I've always wanted to get my hands on them since the first time I saw them.
Unfortunately, I didn't know where to buy them, besides ordering online... or I find them too expensive for my budget. Haha!

So this Christmas, I put 'Crackling Nail Polish' in my wishlist during our exchange gift with my college barkada.

And I finally got some! Yayyy!

2 Nail Up Environmental Polish!
Thanks, Abby! :D

So last Sunday, I tried it out. I used the red one because it's Christmas!

I used my Elianto Nail Color in No.26 for my base and Caronia Colorless Nail Polish.

I really had no idea how to use this before. I even applied it without any base color and I was like, why did it turn out like this?? Haha! I'm such a dork!
So I researched on how to apply it and finally I got it right!
I documented the process so here's what happened:

I applied the base coat first. Yeah, I'm quite messy when I put nail polish.

 Bluuuurrrrred picture. Sorry!
And then apply an appropriate amount of the crackling polish.

After that you wait a few seconds... you can also blow on your nails to speed up the process... Well, I did... :p

This is what it looked like after a minute or so.
I took a picture of a different nail... I don't know what I was thinking that time. LOL

Then I topped it with the colorless nail polish.

And here's the result! :)

Yayyyy! :D :D :D

I'm really happy with what it looks like that I bought some more crackling nail polishes in The Fort Bazaar last Monday. These ones are cheaper for Php45.00 each.

I'm excited to try these out as well!
I'll let you know how it turns out when I do! :)
Cheers,

Shopping @ The Fort Bazaar, NBC Tent

Hi Lovelies!

Yesterday, I went to the Bonifacio High Street in Taguig to shop at the bazaar inside NBC Tent. :)

I wasn't really planning to go out. I have so many tasks to finish for my thesis but my bro was so persistent in going that I just had to say yes. Anyway, I have to buy some more Christmas Gifts so I just stayed up very late when I got back. :P

It's been months since I went The Fort. It's quite a long drive from my house so while waiting, I took some vain pics just to entertain myself. Haha!
Good thing there wasn't much traffic and arrived around 11:30am. But the bazaar opens at 12noon so my bro and I went to grab something to drink.

My bro introduced me to Jamba Juice
This is their first branch in South East Asia. As of now their only branch is in Bonifacio High Street. Hopefully they open more because their drinks are really tasty!

My bro can't get enough of these. I ordered Chocolate Moo'd while he had Strawberry Wild.

I also love their interior design. It's so lively. Plus their comfort room is so clean and cute! :P

After our little trip to Jamba Juice, we went to the Bazaar. Entrance Fee was Php50.00.
Loads of items were up for sale -- Home Decors, clothes, shoes, cosmetics, food, office supplies, and more! What made the experience nicer is that there aren't so many people unlike whenever I go to malls like SM, I don't feel like I'm in a can of sardines. :P

*Unfortunately, I was so busy browsing and buying that I forgot to take pictures. :(

But after a while, my bro and I got hungry so we went to Serendra to eat lunch.

We were craving for greens so we ate at Oliver's Super Sandwiches.
My bro posing like the endorser of the sandwich. Haha! :P

Their Herbed Cream Cheese Baked Potato was awesomeeeee!!!!

After eating, we also bought some cupcakes from Cupcakes by Sonja.
I am super in-love with the Vanilla Sunshine Cupcakes. It was the first cupcake I've had there and I've been in-love with it ever since. :)

Then back to NBC tent for more shopping!!!!!
But this time, my mom arrived to shop with us... Which means more financial aid for us to buy more items! Hahaha!
We were shopping 'til 7pm. My mom was still in the mood to shop for more but my feet were killing me so we just convinced our mom that we can go back in another day. :P

Back home, I can't wait to try out the stuff I bought!
Just look at all these bags!
Some of the bags containing home decors were left downstairs... so yeah, there are more that aren't shown in the picture.

I'll share some stuff we got from the bazaar:

I bought makeup, of course. The MAC lippy is for my sis, Trace... Yes, that's a Christmas Gift for you! Hahaha! Sweet! :P

Accessories! Some of those necklaces were as cheap as Php50.00!

Beaded Belts
A Black and Red cardigan for me. It's hard to find good ones for my size. :P

I love the crackling nail polish that was given for me as a Christmas Gift that I bought more!
A blouse and some dresses for my Mom

and these Corduroy leggings! These are from HUE and here's their Facebook Page though.

So that's all I can share. Some were bought as Christmas gifts so I can't put them here cuz it won't be a surprise anymore. :P

If you want to shop at the Bazaar, here's their sched (from Clickthecity.com):

Get your Christmas checklist ready as we bring you the best buys this season. So mark your calendars on December 3 & 4, 10 & 11, and 17 to 23 from 10:00 to 8:00pm, as great buys at every turn await.

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 7

Hi Dearies!

It's a Monday again!
That means another featured product from HBC is being given away!
It's Week 7 already... Oh how fast time passes... only 2 more weeks for our amazing giveaway... But just a few days more 'til Christmas!!

So what's the featured product for Week 7?

Tips and toes transformed with colours. A week of pampered nails is coming your way.

Do you know that in ancient Egypt, women used nail colour to signify social order with shades of red at the top? Queen Nefertiti, the wife of King Akhenaton, coloured her fingernails and toenails ruby red; Cleopatra favored crimson. Women of lower rank who coloured their nails were permitted only pale colours. (Wikipedia)

Want a perfect mani-pedi experience? Here are 5 tips from HBC:
1.    Remove traces of old polish with a nail polish remover.
2.    Soak nails in warm, soapy water then add a few drops of essential oil like lavender or peppermint.
3.    Clip tips straight across and gently push cuticles back (resist the urge to trim them). Use a sharp nipper to cut hang nails, and lightly lift away dirt under the nail bed using an orange stick.
4.    File nails to leave edges smooth after clipping. Apply lotion and spray nail surfaces with rubbing alcohol to disinfect and prep them for polish. Wipe dry.
5.    Apply your choice of lacquer starting from the base of the nail brushing outwards. Use a cotton swab or a cotton-covered stick dipped in nail polish remover to remove excess polish on the sides. Finish with a coat of clear polish.

Women of today are so lucky to experiment with whatever nail colour they want, so give your nails the love they deserve with subtle to vibrant hues enriched with Vitamins C and E like San San nail polishes.
Take 5 of these for yourself when you answer this week’s question:

What’s your secret to fab-looking nails?

I love putting color on my nails... I post a lot of NOTD's, usually nail art attempts, posts in this blog. Although I'm guilty that I do not take care of my nails much... They usually suffer of getting yellowish from all the nail polishes I put. So for 2012, I will try my best to pamper my nails. :)

Week 6 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

Week 6 of Peachy Pink Sisters x HBC's 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas is over!

Week 6 is all about a flawless skin.

I struggled... well still struggling with mine. I have acne-prone, oily skin.
And a very handy foundation is a must-have if you want to look flawless!
That's why the featured products of the week are San San Mousse Foundations.

So who are the lucky women who will take home these products?

My favorite answer came from :

Joyluck
she said:

"I feel most flawless right when i wake up in the morning and my husband tells me how beautiful i am! Having someone you love and care about tell you how beautiful you are even if you just got up is priceless! Natural beauty!"

Isn't that sweet? I wish someone would tell me that as well when I wake up every morning. Hahaha! :)

And our random winner is :

pigments4mycanvas
 she said:

"I feel the most flawless when on days that I get enough sleep and have put on a really good night cream. Those are the days when I feel like I don't need that much make up on. But on days that I don't have that luxury of sleep and I run out of cream, I can always trust my all reliable foundations and concealers to make everyday feel like my flawless day. I don't have that much blemish on my face to cover up so some really good foundations and concealers and a little coverage gives me enough boost to feel like I have the fairest and most flawless skin in class. :)"

Congratulations,
Lovely Joy Merced and elizabeth mercado!!
I will be leaving you girls a message in your email! Hope you can respond within 48 hours!
Thanks for joining this week 5's giveaway!

Stay tuned for Week 7!

Have a happy, beautiful Christmas!

Celebrating and Shopping(?) at UST Paskuhan 2011

 Beautiful isn't it?
It's one of the shots I took during the Paskuhan Celebration I attended last night. :D

Just look how beautiful UST is during the Christmas Season.

The Main Building looks fab with purple and gold lights!

And I celebrated the night with my college friends!

Since most of my classmates were busy with our thesis, we didn't have a class Christmas party. So our barkada just planned an exchange gift. Although it was hard to find each other because of our different schedules, we were able to give each other what we wanted (with the aid of everyone writing their wishlists). I got these fabulous Nail Up Crackling Nail Polish and this very chic cocktail ring! :)
It's actually my first time to try a crackling polish so I'm very much excited to use them, especially the red one. I think it would look so nice for the season! Yay!

Of course there are live bands playing throughout the night --Rico Blanco, Urbandub, and 6cyclemind to name a few. The crowd was extra wild too! Everyone was ready to party!

There were a few who even brought some lanterns!

And the night wouldn't be complete without the much awaited Fireworks diplay!
Here are some of the shots I took:

Songs such as 'Rolling in the Deep' by Adele and 'Moves like Jagger' by Maroon 5 were playing during display which lasted around 7 minutes! :)

There were also stalls that cater food and things like clothes, shoes, accessories and much more!
It was really fun browsing the stalls but the place were overly-crowded! We had a hard time moving!

But I still saw some unique and fancy things in the 'tiangge.'

My friends and I were able to buy some accessories from one of the stalls. I got to chitchat with the owner while I was browsing the items. She was also a Thomasian so she gave quite a big discount for us.

Here are the items I bought:

Vintage necklaces and a cute pair of cat earrings!

I just find this one soooo pretty! Would totally look nice with most of my clothes!

2 of my friends also bought the heart necklace (friendship necklace!!) and it was only for Php50.00! The violin (or maybe it's a cello?) is for my bestfriend, Liz. :)

And I just find these kitty earrings so adorable!!!!

Although I had better Paskuhan Celebrations before.
It was still a very great night to remember. :)
Thanks to my awesome friends who were with me during the whole night of partying and shopping (And also during the day of prettifying!)!

Happy Holidays everyone! :D
Cheers,
DAWN
