Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Concealer

Hey dears!

The second semester of my graduate school studies started this January so I will be expecting numerous sleepless nights again. Hello dark under-eyes!!! (LOL) Thus, I will be needing help from good under-eye concealers to help my eyes look bright and awake. No one wants to look like a zombie!

What I'm currently using is...

Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Concealer
Php 699.00

The shade I bought is Butter. I think this only comes in one shade.
There is another product, the Eye Need a Miracle Corrector that is more peachy in tone and as the name states, it corrects the dark coloration of your under-eyes and helps in evening them to your complexion. Maybe if you have very dark eye circles, you can use them before the concealer? I would have to check their counters and try that first though.

So let's go with the design first...
Love the Happy Skin packaging! It's simple and cute filled with basic colors and shapes.

Anyway, here are the important details labeled on the packaging:

The product is housed in a tube. You only squeeze it and you easily get the product out. I think this kind of concealer is very hygienic compared to those in pots, palettes, and pen types because you don't have to dip your fingers and brushes in the containers or on the product itself.

The product is a very warm shade. It's actually quite light but it does say that it is self adjusting. To me, it does a good job blending on my skin but I am not sure how well it would work with people who have darker skin.

The consistency is thick but not so creamy compared to some of the under-eye concealers I've tried before. But blending is still easy so no worries.

The coverage is quite good. It's medium and you can build the coverage up by applying more.

It feels light on skin which I really appreciate. I hate too thick and creamy concealers, especially on the eye area.

Check out the photo above to see how well it covered my under-eyes.

It concealed the dark areas and it also brightened them. Yay!
And what's even better is that it doesn't crease on the lines around my eyes and it stays all day on me but I do use primers and top it off with powder which can lengthen the staying power of this product. :)

Overall, I really like this concealer! It's effective and not too expensive. Plus, I just love that this is a Pinoy brand!

So what do you think of the Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Concealer? What are the other products you've tried from Happy Skin?

several polyphenols and anthocyanidins; which means a bunch of amazing things that are really good for you. helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, cera alba (beeswax, cire d'abeille), cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, lanolin, aroma (flavor)*, punica granatum (pomegranate) seed oil, tocopherolrosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf extract, glycine soja (soybean) oil, canola oil (huile de colza), carmine, benzyl salicylate, cinnamal, citral, eugenol, geraniol, hydroxycitronellal, limonene, linalool. *natural flavor

This product was a gift for me from the brand last Christmas. It's been a while since I was able to use a Burt's Bees lip balm again. I've been busy trying to finish the lip balms that I already have that is why I haven't been buying lip balms. But if I were going to buy one, one brand I'd certainly consider getting is Burt's Bees. I like that this brand is 100% natural!

Lucky me that I was able to receive some products from Burt's Bees and I'm happy that I'll be able to try products from them that I haven't tried before. One of them is this lip balm.

This product has a net weight of 0.15oz and this smells really good! It has this mild fruity scent that is very pleasant for me. It also a mild taste but I can barely describe it... I guess it's fruity too although I'm not a fan. Good thing I don't have a habit of licking my lips.

The texture is buttery smooth and not thick and waxy which I hate when it comes to balms. And just look at that swatch! It's like a layer of moisture-goodness! The formula is just great if you're looking for hydration for your lips.

On the lips, I look like I have lipgloss on! It gives a "barely there" pink tone that makes your lips appear healthier and glossy smooth! The color is too subtle to affect the lipstick you're using. But if you want to wear a matte lipstick on top of the balm, I suggest you blot your lips first after you apply the balm then you can apply the lipstick. :) That can help your lips stay hydrated because... well, matte lipsticks have a tendency to dry them up!

I use this daily and I just love pressing my lips together when I have this on because they are just so soft and smooth. Thanks to the 100% natural ingredients, I didn't encounter any irritations and this certainly helped me prevent having chapped lips during this cool weather in the Philippines. I just love it!

What's lip balm do you currently use? Which one is your favorite?

EOTD: Honey Bronze

Hi guys!

Just sharing the eye makeup I wore today. I was in the mood for metallics but I wanted it simple because I'm just going to work (plus, our new uniforms are hideous and I wasn't really in the mood for colorful looks because of all the greyness in our uniform). :P And so I went with a warm gold-bronze combination sans the usual black liner.

See how simple it is? I think this look would be great for people who go to work or school that have little time to spare for makeup. It's a simple 5-minute look that's super easy to make!

I used these makeup:

img source: here

MAC Royal Assets : 6 Metallic Eyes Palette
MAC eyeliner in Bountiful Brown

I included the two products I used for my brows so all-in-all, I only used 6 products. Nice, right?

For the eyeshadows, I used the 3 shades on the left and the black one on the right. The colors are pretty easy to blend together and I simply made a gradient effect—light to dark from top to bottom.

So below are some closeup shots of my eye...

I added the black shadow to add a little "extra volume" effect on my lashes and then I added the gold eye liner under my lower lash line to brighten the look.

Simple and bright!

I kept the rest of my makeup plain and simple with a peachy pink blush and a nude pink lipstick!

And that's my EOTD! Hope you liked it!

Etude House Play 101 Pencil in Nos. 4 and 33

Hi lovelies!

I love it when affordable makeup brands go on sale because you know you can shop without regrets! That's what happened when I bought these two products from Etude House!

Etude House Play 101 Pencils
These are Php 348.00 each but I was able to buy them for 20% discount.

The shades are nos. 4 and 33.

I bought No. 4 because I think this would great as an under-eye glitter liner! I'm sure it can brighten up any eye makeup.

The shade is sparkly and nude so I bet it would suit many makeup looks.

No. 33 is a pale nude-pink shade that I'm very attracted to for some reason.

I fell in-love with the matteness of this one.

Below are the swatches.

I got those swatches in just one swipe and they glided smoothly on skin. It's very pigmented and you'll only need a few seconds for it to set on the skin. After that, it can stay the whole day, especially if you're using a good primer.

Check out No. 4 on my under-eye lashes.

And on the top of my upper lash line, I applied No. 33.

And what's interesting is that I can also use this as a lip liner and even as a lip color!

It does make your lips chap though... but staying power is pretty impressive!

So what do you think? The shades I got are beautiful and I wanna get more! And you know what's crazy? It's available in 50 different shades!!! WOAH! Awesome!

Have you tried the Play 101 pencils yet? What shades did you get?

Review : The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye

Hey dearest!

Do you love wearing eye makeup too? Have you discovered your love for eye primers to make your makeup last longer?

Since the first time I've used one, I immediately became a fan and made eye primers a staple in my makeup routine. Having oily lids can ruin your eye makeup big time and with a good primer, your beautiful look can last the whole day! I have tried probably a dozen of eye primers already and around half of them are pretty decent. And for today's post, I'll be sharing my thoughts on the most recent primer I got...

The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye
This costs Php 895.00. The one I have was sent to me for review.

This is pretty new. It became available on September last year.

The packaging is pretty simple. It's in a tube that looks pretty much like the face primer version of Instablur. It's easy to squeeze out the product and I can get to open it by cutting it easily once I run low on this so I can fully use it.

Below are details about the product from their press release.

Below are details on the packaging:

Just by reading what it claims, I can't help but get excited about this product. It helps blur your imperfections (lines and dark circles), prolongs your eye makeup, and enhances the color of your eyeshadow. This is 3-in-one! You get the 2 important roles of an eye primer and you would not need an under eye concealer anymore! I have high expectations on this because I really liked the face primer which they released 2 months prior to this one (you can read the review here).

The consistency is gel-like. If you've tried the face primer, you'll be familiar with it. It looks thick but spreading it is easy because it is very smooth. It has a tendency to be clumped together and if you're using sponges or brushes to apply, it may fall off before you can spread it on skin so I just use my fingers. :P

It has a sheer yellow tone to it that helps give a light coverage on your eye area. This color suits my skin very well and I think it really brightens the eye area.

The pic above is when I slightly blend it. You can see how it goes through the lines of my hand. A little more blending and it can do a slight "blur" effect to lessen the visibility of the lines. This effect is more visible on finer lines of the face and on the pores too.

Below are swatches of my MUFE eyeshadow...
Left: without The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye
Right: with The Body Shop All-In-One Instablur Eye

And above is when I smudged the eyeshadow over and over.

It held the eyeshadow rather well. It looks more enhanced with the primer and when I try to remove it, you can see that it kept the color there unlike the other one without the primer which looks almost gone.

Excuse the eyebrows, I was planning to do a strong eye makeup look there. Haha! Anyway, one eye has the Instablur Eye product applied while the other one doesn't. It gave a light coverage on my eye circles and it did very well on mattifying and "blurring" some of my fine lines around my eye bags. Very impressive, right?

Everything seemed to be going rather well... but I got disappointed with the way it handled the oiliness of my eye lids. In just 4 hours, my eye makeup began creasing and my eyeliner began transferring to the upper portion of my lids. This do not happen when I use good primers like the one I have from UD and Too Faced. I gave this another shot and I used eyeshadows that are known to last longer such as the Maybelline Color Tattoo, but unfortunately, they creased badly too.

So here's a summary of my thoughts:

What I LIKE:
- Enhances the color of eyeshadows
- Blurs fine lines
- Light coverage for under eyes
- Easy to apply
- Packaging is simple and practical
- Price is reasonable
- Locally available
- Multi-purpose
- Makes eye area so smooth

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Doesn't help prolonging makeup. My eye makeup creases after 4 hours.

Would I buy again?
I think I won't. The con is too important for me. I think I can handle it if it doesn't enhance the eyeshadow much because I can just use a very pigmented eyeshadow. I can also handle a primer without the coverage part because I can always use a concealer. BUT a primer for me should prolong makeup and unfortunately, this doesn't do that for me... I guess this would work on dry to normal skin better.

Have you tried this yet? What are your thoughts on this product? Share your comment below! :)
