NOTD : Red, Circles and Metals

Happy New Year's Eve, everybody!

Ready for the big 2013 welcome celebration?
I'm so excited for this day because my sister will arrive today from Australia!
She'll be spending the next 6 weeks here in Manila and I can't wait to go shopping and do sisterly bondings with her again!

She already gave me clues on what she got me from AU. Will be sharing with you those on the next post! :)

Anyway, for this NOTD post, I'll show you the nails I'm sporting for the new year...

It's Red, has little metallic circles and quite colorful too.

I was supposed to do some nail art...
Why did I arrive at this?

Well, I was watching Doctor Who and got too engrossed at watching that I got lazy to think of a nail art design. Haha!

So I just thought of things that represents new year...

The color red, rounds things and bold colors! Also silver and gold if I am not mistaken.
All these represent good luck and long life - things to look forward to every new year.

I used these nail polishes:
Twinkle Nail Polish in Bonfire Red
Bobbie Premium Nail Creme in The Big Bang

So I guess I'll go back to prepping the house for my sis' welcome home kinda party (she'll probably sleep all day) and of course, to welcome 2013. :)

Happy 2013, guys!

Stay gorgeous!

Cheers!

Last Haul for 2012

Hi everyone!

2012 is almost over and the world hasn't ended yet! Yayyy! Haha! :P
Are you preparing for your Medya Noche this coming New Year's eve?

Anyway, I'll be sharing with you some items I bought after Christmas.
These are probably my last purchases for the year (hopefully, haha).

Laneige Snow BB Cream

Hair rubber bands

Suejin The Beauty Balm Water Gloss BB Cream
It's my first time seeing this brand and was curious to try it out. It's only Php150 so I bought it right away.

I also shopped at Saizen! Haha!

Deodorizer
Quite disappointed with this one... It smells like Safeguard soaps. Haha. :P

Glittery Loose Powder
Planning to do a creative makeup look with this thing.

False Lashes
I love the effect of this lashes on my eyes.

Design Knife
It's for my art stuff.

A simple black belt.

and a cap (forgot what this one is called).
I've always wanted to wear one but it's kind of weird to wear one in casual days so a cheap one will do since I wouldn't be wearing it regularly.

I also went shopping at SM Departments stores during their Year End Sale.

The shoes and the bag are all discounted!

Vanilla & Co. Witch Hazel Beauty Tonic
Be Organic Triple Rice Soap

And I'd also like to share this treat I enjoyed eating yesterday,
Koori Frozen Yogurt Ice Cream.
I also like their Mochi Ice Creams as well! Yum yum! :)

That's all folks!
2012 was a nice year for my beauty cravings. I got to try so many new products and also finished up quite a number of products I owned. It just feels so good to finally empty a product, especially lipsticks and blushes! Haha!

Thank you 2012, and see you soon, 2013!

Cheers!

My December Salad Box

Hello ladies and gents!

My Salad Box for the month of December just arrived yesterday and I'd like to share with you what the contents are.

and here they are!

It's lighter than the last two boxes.

Sample bottle of Alyssa Ashley Musk in Dangerous But Fun

Carmex Lip Balm

Virginia Olsen Mineral Blush in Bronzer Wood Matte and 2 Sophia Eyelash Enhancer GC worth Php500.

Ciate Mini Polishes
Probably the best among the bunch! I'll finally get to try the Caviar nails!

Urbanears Gift Voucher worth Php300.

Honestly, I am quite disappointed for this month's box. The only thing I was excited about was the caviar nails. The rest were things I wouldn't be interested to try out. these are mostly GC's now and it's not what I thought these boxes are for. I thought it should be sample items delivered to your doorstep so that if you like a certain product, that's when you go to the store and buy the standard size.
But with these GC's, you'll have no choice but to go to the store just so you can maximize what you paid for these boxes.

I will give another chance for The Salad box and hopefully they give a better selection on next month's box. If not, then I'll just place my money on a better one.

Cheers!

Review : The Face Shop Clean Face Oil-free BB Cream

Hi lovelies!
Having oily skin is a bit, no, REALLY annoying especially since I love wearing makeup. Blotting is necessary every now and then and makeup, especially those with heavy coverage, makes my face more oily. I tried using water-based ones but it's not long-lasting or too expensive for me.
But now that my face is starting to clear up from the dark marks I got from pimples, I could use makeup with less coverage (though I still prefer heavy ones since I'm lazy to use concealer, haha). I'm currently experimenting on foundations and BB creams so I am willing to try out what I think is interesting, even if I haven't read any reviews about them which I usually do before.
I saw this BB cream some months ago and got curious about it since it is water-based and it smells so good, I bought it!
The Face Shop Clean Face Oil-free BB Cream
This is around Php765.00 in stores.
It has 35ml and has a life span of 1 year.
Oh, this is my first BB Cream from the brand! :)

Front and back pictures of the tube where you'll see a few descriptions of the product and its ingredients.

Description

A BB cream for bright and light make-up. Covers up skin troubles and freckles. Tested for sensitive skin.

Application

After toner & lotion, get adequate amount on the skin
For cleaner skin look,
Put sun block before BB cream
 For better protection of skin
Put BB cream before sun block
For better coverage
Put sun block , BB cream and foundation
This is for all skin types
Has Chamomile extract
Quick Clear Complex
New and improved Quick' Clear Complex treats oily or problem skin more quickly and effectively
This is a swatch of the product. It's kind of gray for my warm tones skin (I'm NC25).
It smells really good. Sort of a mild floral scent. I really like the smell.
It feels light on skin and it's so silky that it's so easy to blend. I feel like I didn't apply anything when I use it.
Here are my before and after pictures when I use it:

It made my skin a bit greyish. It has minimal coverage as well.
I'm not quite satisfied with the product alone. I have to use sun block (this BB Cream doesn't have SPF), concealer and a higher coverage powder foundation to have a better looking skin and get my complexion looking more natural.

This is a picture of my cheek after 6 hours of no retouching nor even blotting my face with an oil film. It's less oily than when I use a heavy coverage liquid foundation I normally use. Though I think I didn't use a good enough concealer here in this pic... haha! :P
I never experienced any skin irritation nor breakouts when I use this BB cream. :)
So to sum it all up:
LIKES:
Light, silky feeling
Easy to apply
Smells good
No skin irritation
No breakouts
Nice packaging
Locally available
Long-lasting
Oil-Free
DISLIKES:
Greyish tone
Super minimal coverage
No SPF
Comes in one shade only.
Would I buy again?
Probably not. I'm willing to try other BB Creams and I prefer those that are yellowish since my skin is yellow-toned. And I like my BB with SPF so I could skip the sun block part. Haha!
But I'm really impressed with how it feels and its scent though! It can be a really good primer. :)
Have you tried this BB Cream yet? How about other ones from The Face Shop?
Cheers!

Liz's Holiday HAUL

Happy holidays dearies!

If there's any downside to the holidays, that would be the spending-spree that leaves your wallets empty and bleeding. Well, needless to say, I went on a splurge this holiday.

After a mere week, I burned through my 5k savings. Ugh so shameful! But it was well worth it anyway. :)

So here are all the stuff I splurged on for my holiday preparation... sans the clothes cause they're still in the laundry basket from the previous holiday... will do a post on them next time.

LANEIGE

Finally bought my Snow BB Soothing Cushion!

Well worth it's price! They even gave me all these freebies! :)

TRANSITION LENSES and NEW GLASSES

Sorry, I don't have a picture of just my glasses so there... at least you can see it in transition action. :)

OPTIX

Been a while since I bought contact lenses. :)

HUMAN NATURE

I finished off my Cetaphil lotion already so I really needed this one. Already used it so it's "bawas" na.

BIFESTA

Super love this water based make up remover. Really great for removing eye makeup, waterproof eye liners and mascaras. You can buy it in Landmark if you want one. :)

And this one, I didn't buy but I'm just happy to have it with me this Christmas. Thanks to my classmate Jamie for gifting it. :)

Well, that's all my holiday makeup splurge madness. :)

Hope to get more this coming new year!

Cheers,
LIZ

But for every special occasion, we have to look our very best, right?

Review : Human♥Nature 100% Natural Lip Balm in Wild Berry

Hello everyone!

At last, the days are getting cooler everyday. These are the times I like to go out and just walk without an umbrella in one hand. I really wish that it could just be like this all year round!

But even with a cooler climate, let's not forget to moisturize our skin. I don't know how much I have stressed this in my posts how important moisturizing our skin is. And that includes the lips! Make sure to always have a trusty lip balm!
The one I have right now which I carry in my Kikay kit is...

Human♥Nature 100% Natural Lip Balm in Wild Berry
This is only less Php 70.00.
Uber affordable, right?
One tube hold 4g of the product so it really is a sweet deal.

I got this tube from the Maven event I attended a couple of months ago - Beyond the Blush.

Here's a product description from the website:

"Your lips need protection too! Our better-than-ever 100% natural lip balms are made only with the finest blend of cocoa butter, beeswax, and pure natural plant oils. Now you can experience a smoother, softer glide and mouth-watering natural flavors that are sure to keep you reaching for your lip balm again and again...and again!

Available in 4 yummy flavors: Tutti-Frutti, Peppermint, Choco Fudge, and Wild Berry"

And if you explore the tube's labels, you'll see the following:

Product weight and date of manufacturing and expiration

List of Ingredients

Ricinus communis (castor) oil, beeswax, Theobroma cacao (cocoa) butter, caprylic capric triglyceride, flavor (all natural), Helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil Calendula officinalis (marigold) extract, Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) extract, tocopherol, manganese violet (CI 77742), iron oxide (CI77491)

It's great that it is made 100% Natural ingredients. It makes it more safe to use. :)

Here's my lips with the product applied.

It has a colorless finish with a slight sheen. It's smooth but not waxy.
The scent is sweet and fruity but it is tasteless which I like so I won't be tempted to just lick the product off. It does moisturize the lips though not as much as when I use my Carmex Lip balm. It is still good enough especially for its price.

 LIKES:
100% Natural Ingredients
♥ Colorless
♥ Affordable
♥ Mild fruity scent
♥ Locally available
♥ Smooth but not waxy
♥ Available in 4 flavors

DISLIKES :
Nothing so far

Will I buy again?
I still have a bunch of lip balms I still have to finish. So for now, no. I would if I don't see an interesting one when the time comes that I'll have to buy a lip balm. :P

Exfoliating and moisturizing the lips are essential to getting pretty puckers. Exfoliate first by getting a damp cloth and rubbing it gently on your lips to remove dead cells and dry skin from the surface of your lips. Next, moisturize by using Human Nature’s natural and nourishing lip balm.

So have you tried any  Human♥Nature 100% Natural Lip Balm yet?
Which flavor?

Cheers!
