Makeup Experiment: Seiryuu (Fushigi Yuugi)

Hey loves!

I had two of my closest friends over last Saturday at my house to hang-out. We decided to do one of our makeup experiments once again. Gucci, my model for this look, actually suggested this idea to do a creative shoot once again. I think I've done my makeup experiments on her the most and I'm happy that she likes doing them! Haha!

Anyway, we grew up watching animé, so when we were thinking of a look we could do, I had an idea to take inspiration from one of the shows we watched way back when we were in our elementary school days—Fushigi Yuugi. I'm not sure if you're familiar with this animé, but I remember that we make sure we're home before the show air either on the local channel GMA7 or the cable channel AXN.

Since this makeup experiment should be creative, I didn't pick any of the main characters to draw inspiration from. I chose to pick from the beast Gods—Suzaku, Seiryuu, Byakko, and Genbu. I like that they represent beasts and elements which would make the whole creative makeup process more interesting.

When I asked Gucci which one she liked, it was down to Suzaku and Seiryuu. Why? Because Suzaku is hot while Seiryuu is majority blue (which is a favorite color).

Anyway, here's a photo of what our experiment turned out. Just by seeing this, you already know which one we went for...

Nichido Minerals Precise Eye Pencil in Walnut

Hey dears!

My mom had her brow tattooed some years back and now the color has faded and the tattoo is now greyish (sometimes bluish). My mom doesn't use makeup regularly—face powder and lipstick are the only things she apply. She recently wanted to add another cosmetic to her very minimal makeup routine and that's the eyebrow pencils just so her brows don't look too awkward. This is what she (usually I because I apply it for her) uses:

Essence Hi! Lighting Eyeshadow Mousse in Hi! Mauve

Hello dears!

Four years ago, I blogged about a cream eyeshadow from Essence that I just love to use as an eyeshadow base. I loved it so much that I was so disappointed when I learned that the Essence shops at the leading department stores do not carry those long-lasting eyeshadows anymore.

Last December, I visited one of their counters to check just in case they carry that cream eyeshadow again or if the brand released a similar product. There was none... but, the sales attendant recommended that I try this...

I bought this for PhP 229.00.

L'Oreal Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick in Beige Couture

Hello dears!

I've been using a lot of matte liquid lipsticks. I still think they look wonderful, but there comes a point that I feel like it looks too dry for me. I still like the sort of matte finish but with a hint of creaminess to it, and that's what this matte lipstick that I'll be share swatches with you in this post is all about!

Review : Ciate London Liquid Chrome Metallic Eyeliner in Celestial

Hey everyone!

I like doing different looks for my eye makeup. I like colors and contrast so recently, I've been adding more eyeliners than usual. I usually pair my black winged eyeliner with another colored eyeliner. It doesn't matter what color or if it's matte or metallic, or glittered. I just apply whatever catches my "fancy."

Now I just wanted to buy and buy more eyeliners. Haha! I try to stop myself when I can but when I see a good deal, I just can't resist anymore and one of the things I bought is this...

Art Time: Dawn Reviews Mori Notes Pursebook

Hello loves!

I have featured a few of my drawings a few times before. The visual arts have played a significant role in my life and I grew up creating drawings and paintings in different mediums. Art is a big passion of mine, a hell of a lot more than makeup or blogging to be honest. Now that I am writing this post, I'm surprised that I have not tried blogging my thoughts on art exhibits that I've visited, not even my experiences on different art materials.

But one day, a fellow blogger, Jirbie of Couch Wasabi, messaged me if I was willing to try  a certain notebook where I can draw some of my sketches and paintings. We follow each other on Instagram so she might have seen some of my works. I felt touched that she was willing to refer me to this certain brand. It really boosted my confidence when it comes to my creativity.

A few days later, I received another message from Mitzi, the person behind this unique brand called Mori Notes. She asked if I was interested to use their product and then asked for my shipping details. She was so nice throughout the exchange and I was just so excited to know what item I was gonna get. I was too shy to ask her which exactly of their products will I be receiving. I just knew that I will be able to apply my skills on them so it's gotta be a paper product.

To learn more about Mori Notes, I visited their website and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) to get an idea of what this brand is all about. They offer various products such as notebooks, pouches, bags, decors, and what seems to be their bestselling item—the "pursebooks." It's a hybrid of a notebook and a purse, which is like a GENIUS idea because as someone who brings a small sketchpad wherever I go, it would have made my life easier if it already came with a purse where I can store my art materials.

And how lucky was I when I opened my package from the brand and saw this pretty thing:

Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer

Hello gorgeous!

As someone who works from eight to five, I try to find makeup that can last the day on my oily skin. One thing that has helped me achieve that is adding primer to my makeup routine. I usually look for primers that prolong makeup and it's a plus if they help my pores appear smaller, control oil, and help the whole makeup application process easier by making the skin feel smoother. I've tried more than a couple of dozens now and I'm still curious to try out more, but for now I'm using this...

Celeteque DermoCosmetics Eyebrow Defining Kit

Hey dears!

Since most of us in the Philippines are familiar with the phrase "kilay is life," I think it is safe to say that many who likes to apply makeup agree that having well-groomed and defined brows is important to achieving a great makeup look.

I have struggled in finding the right products to achieve this. I find that my brows are a bit tricky to work with because they aren't even and the hair is thick. Even the thickness from the inner half to the outer part is too different. And so, I've tried brow products in different forms such as pencils, powders, gel, and mascara. Right now, I'm somehow content with what I use to achieve a decent brow and that is that there should always be a brow mascara at all times but I still need another one to fill some spaces. So I try out different kinds like pencils, etc.

Considering that I've experimented with products and use more than one for my brows, I formed this curiosity (or fixation...?) to try and try products from different brands in various forms. I guess it's a good thing for a blogger to have that so I can share my experiences to my readers.

Anyway, enough with my story and on today's main topic. It's about the...
