Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Snow Pink

Hey loves!

My brother just graduated a couple of days ago and he is now a doctor of medicine! WOooot! Both my siblings graduated this year from their post-graduate studies (one is a doctor of Medicine and one is a doctor of Philosophy). Awesome right!? I'm a proud sister here! And I'm almost done with my MA studies too. I'll be taking my comprehensive exam soon and hopefully start working on my thesis. So wish me luck!

And that's my life update for now. Tonight, I'll share another short swatch post. :)

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss

And the shade is in Snow Pink.

This is another product I inherited from my sister. It was actually odd that she bought this lipgloss because I don't remember her being fond of translucent nor glittery glosses... I don't even think she likes glosses at all. Anyway, I was sort of right because she gave it to me. Haha!

I don't really wear lip glosses often but I really like seeing little, fine glitters on the lips. I thought I could top this off on a lipstick or lip stain.

Here's the swatch on my hand:

And on my lips:

I'm not wearing any lipstick underneath. So as you can see, the lip gloss doesn't provide much color, just lots of glitters! I think I will use it with a lip tint and have like a fairy-ish look. The simple, yet shimmery finish on the lips would go well with long lashes (with falsies of course). I'll try to post an FOTD of that look sometime. ;)

What are your thoughts on the Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss?

Canmake Mix Eyebrow in Soft Brown

Hello dears!

Some may say that they have a hard time perfecting their eyeliner or blending their eyeshadows, but for me, I find doing my brows more difficult. It's not eyebrows in general, but my own brows because they are quite thick and the hair strands are very, very dark so making it look "natural" can be tricky, especially since there are uneven areas near the tail part.

I haven't found my "holy grail" when it comes to my brow makeup so I'm open to try out different products and brands. I already found some good ones but I still want to try more. So while I was browsing some makeup from Lunasol, we saw their brow powder palette which contains different shades. I thought it was cute and useful, but I don't think it's something that's for me during that time because I think my dark brows do not need the lighter shades. But a few weeks later, I was browsing makeup again at Landmark and saw Canmake's selection of brow palettes and I thought, "this is pretty affordable (compared to Lunasol's) so it wouldn't hurt if I buy one to try." So I did purchase one...

Canmake Mix Eyebrow

Bought this for PhP 490.00. The shade I bought is in Soft Brown because I think it's the shade closest to my current hair color.

To learn more about the product, check out the product info from the website:

You can use just this one item for everything from eyebrow make-up to nose-shadow!!!
Mix the three graduated shades to create a color as unique as you are.
Highlight your eye make-up and create natural shadows the way you want.
• You can mix the three light and dark shades of powder to adjust the shade and create one that is perfect for your own eyebrow color.
• The powder has a moist texture, so it clings to your skin, without dispersing.
You can create color in exactly the place you want it.
• The nose-shadow blends in well to your skin, highlighting your natural shadows, bringing out your features and emphasizing your eye make-up.
• Compact comes with a handy double-ended brush and applicator tip.

[01] Yellow Brown

A yellowish-brown that blends well
into your skin.
The perfect color for those with brightly colored hair. For a neat, cool impression.

[02] Natural Brown
A standard brown that can be used with all types of make-up.
The perfect color for those with natural hair color.
For a girlish, feminine impression.

[03] Soft Brown
An ash-brown that blends in well with your natural eyebrow color. The ideal color for those with darker hair color.
For the soft-looking eyebrows of
a natural beauty.

[04] Grayish Brown
A grayish brown that gives a soft finish, despite the darkness of the shade.
For those with black to dark brown hair.

The product comes in a transparent, hard plastic. I like the simplicity and the practicality of the design. It's travel-friendly and you easily get to see the shades of the palette.

It also contains a double-ended applicator that I rarely use because it's too small. The brush has very soft bristles though!

The reflective material that sort of act as a mirror doesn't really work as well, but that's not such a big deal for me.

This is the palette. As you can see, the shades are neutral colors. Each shade can be pretty useful as mentioned in the product info. The center shade is a good contour product for the nose and all three can be used as eyeshadow (especially to add definition and a deeper set pair of eyes). See photo below for swatches.

It's quite pigmented but not too strong to overpower the brows. I like the consistency because the finish isn't too bold but it still gives enough color to fill in the brows.

Below are photos of how the product performs on my difficult brows:

Bare brows

With only the darkest shade

This is how I normally use it. The darkest shade fills the gaps without looking too odd.

With the other shades + a brow mascara

This is how I wear all three shades if I apply brow mascara. Without it, the blackness of the hair strands do not go well with the lighter shades.

This product can stay the whole day on my brows without retouching, even on my oily skin! If you use it as contour product or eyeshadow, you might need to use a makeup primer first to extend it's lasting power.

I really think that this is a good product and I believe that it's something that I will recommend if anybody asks me what brow powder product to check out. Unfortunately, I think pencils or brow cream/liquid/gel type of brow products work better for my thick, dark brows.

Have you tried the Canmake Mix Eyebrow? Which shade? What brow product do you use?

Sydney Trip (2016) Haul

Hey loves!

Last April, I went to Sydney to visit my sister and attended her graduation ceremony. I had loads of fun hanging with my sis again and she showed me around the city. She took me to places that she knew I would enjoy like museums and places with beautiful sceneries where I can take pictures. I'm so lucky that my sister knows me well. ;)

She saved two days of my two-weeks-stay there to do some makeup shopping! Yippee! There's no such thing as an out-of-the-country vacation without checking out their makeup and skincare products. Haha! I have a tight budget and Sydney is quite an expensive place to shop if I were to compare it to the Philippines or other countries in South East Asia. I relied on my sister on what products are must-haves and what I should just skip or get when I return home.

And so, let me introduce to you my new babies! Haha!
(If I include the price, they are in Australian Dollars) :)

First of, my gift that my sis bought for me. It's like a Christmas x early birthday gift:

Becca Resurfacing Primer

Becca Afterglow Palette

She even gave me these lovely products that smell soooo good!
MOR Trio of Treasures in Lychee Flower
This set includes a bar of soap, a perfume oil, and a hand cream.

She also gave me some of her preloved products that I happily accepted. I'll blog swatches and reviews about these soon. ;)

Husk Herbal Tea Blends in Digest

I love drinking tea so I just had to bring at least one box home. ;)

Klorane Mango Oil ($22.95) and Klorane Shampoo with quinine and B Vitamins ($10.95)

My sister recommended this hair care brand and there was an on-going promo: you get a kit containing travel-sized products when you buy two products from them

And these are what's inside the kit:
Klorane Shampoo with Mango Butter
Klorane Dry Shampoo
Klorane Conditioning Balm

Rimmel Protect Makeup Primer ($13.95)
This is a gift or pasalubong for Liz. She'll post a review soon. :)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Full Coverage Foundation in Light Beige ($13.95)

This is a gift or pasalubong for Liz. She'll post a review soon. :)

Lily Rose Leather Care Conditioner and Water and Stain Protection
I forgot how much these are but I remember it was more affordable compared to the ones here. We need to take care of our leather bags, you know. ;)

Rationale Sebocyte Superlight Lotion SPF50+ ($60)
I have a separate post that I'll share soon about these products.

Rationale Sebocyte Soothing Hydrogel ($60)

I have a separate post that I'll share soon about these products.

We also went to David Jones... it's like the Rustan's of the Philippines. I wasn't planning on getting anything while I was there but we were offered a free facial when we went to the Philosophy stall.

I answered some questions about my skin type and you can see on the picture above what products from the brand was recommended to help my skin get better.

As I've said, I didn't plan on buying anything but after the facial, I just had to get the Microdelivery Peel kit ($95). The kit really made my skin feel softer and radiant!

I also took home some freebies. ;)

We also visited this very, very lovely place called MECCA Cosmetica.
Haha! I've been wanting to visit this place since my sister talked about it whenever she buys makeup from there.

My sister booked me for a skin consultation as well as a makeover!

Pamela (she's super nice) helped me with the skin concerns and what makeup I should try. The products she picked up for me were so good and I really was tempted to get them all. I do, however, have a limited budget so I just picked the ones I liked best.

NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint ($68)
This product gives enough coverage but still gives that natural finish. It looks like my skin but better!

Just look at how awesome my skin looks like! It's like I'm not wearing foundation!

SEEEEEEE!?!?

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel ($25)
My sister sent me some samples of these and it really worked in making my skin smoother and making the dark spots on my face lighter. :)

Sunday Riley Power Couple Kit ($124)
This includes the Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment and Luna Sleeping Night Oil

My sister swears by the power of Retinol to treat our skin problems. Both my sis and I have oily, acne-prone skin and you can see on our photos how her skin has improved. She usually just wear light tint while I still had to cover so many pimples and scars.

As you can see, most of the products I bought were skincare. I am REALLY hoping that all these will help me get better skin. *crosses fingers*

I'll blog about some skin stuff I learned when I visited a skin clinic here and why I bought some of the stuff in this post. Stay tuned for that!

So what do you think of all the products I got? Which is the most interesting for you?

PAGDIRIWANG ng Pistang Pilipino—The Debut Exhibit of the Thomasian Alumni Society of Artists (T.A.S.Á.)

Hi everyone!

Here's one of the reasons why I haven't been posting as much during the last couple of months:

PAGDIRIWANG ng Pistang Pilipino
The Debut Exhibit of the Thomasian Alumni Society of Artists (T.A.S.Á.)

T.A.S.Á. is an organization of young illustrators who graduated from UST's College of Fine Arts and Design program. The group was formed on July of last year and I have been a member since then.

The "PAGDIRIWANG ng Pistang Pilipino" exhibit is our first as a group and it aims to show the vibrance of our country's fiestas.

The exhibit opened last Saturday and the gallery is open for viewing until this Saturday, May 21, 2016. Anyone can enter the gallery, just tell the guard that you want to check the exhibit out. ;)

Here are the members of T.A.S.Á. who participated on the exhibit

And below are cropped images of the artworks that are currently displayed:

These artworks are for sale and if you are interested in owning any of these pieces, you can contact me through email or on Facebook. You can also email T.A.S.Á. at ust.tasa@gmail.com

And in case you are wondering, I also have an artwork on display. My work is inspired from the Sinulog Festival of Cebu:

"Musa ng Sinulog"

Artist: Dawn Catherine P. Llanera
Medium: Crayons
Size: 20" x 20"
Year: 2016

Our group will be open for new members in a few months so do email (ust.tasa@gmail.com) us if you are interested. To become a member, you must be a Thomasian from CFAD who graduated on 2005 or later. If these requirements are met, do send us an email! ;)

And shout out to ARC Interiors and Events for providing the flower arrangements that embellished the entrance to our gallery. We look forward to working with you again! :D

I hope you can check our exhibit out and also like our Facebook Page or visit our website to view our other artworks. ;)

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci

Hey loves!

It's been a while since I last made a blog post. The past couple of months were so exhausting because of work, school, and other important obligations that I had to skip blogging just to find time to get some sleep. Good think I have my Peachy Pink Sister Liz to write some posts for me while I'm M.I.A. Anyway, I've done at least half of the things that I need to finish, so now I have enough time to spare for a short swatch post! Yay!

For tonight, I'll share my swatches of Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.

And the shade I have is in Baci.

This is a gift from my sister. I think she bought a set and she didn't find this shade flattering on her so she asked if I wanted it. I think some of you may have read that I'm a fan of pinkish nude or nude pink lipstick shades so I happily accepted the item. :D

Info from the website:

The ultimate power pout! This creamy-matte, full-coverage lip color delivers bold, long-lasting color and stays in place for up to 6 hours of continuous wear.

The texture is weightless on lips and comfortable. The color-rich formula will not bleed or transfer.

Enriched with Vitamin E and avocado oil, Stay All Day® Liquid Lipstick softens the lips so they look and feel beautiful!

ISODODECANE, DIMETHICONE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, POLYBUTENE, PETROLATUM, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, KAOLIN, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, BEESWAX (CERA ALBA), SILICA DIMETHYL SILYLATE, FLAVOR (AROMA), GLYCERYL BEHENATE/EICOSADIDATE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL, TOCOPHEROL, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, TIN OXIDE; May Contain (+/-) MICA, TITANIUM, DIOXIDE (CI 77891), RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), RED 6 (CI 15850), YELLOW 6 LAKE (CI 15985), YELLOW 5 LAKE (CI 19140), BLUE 1 LAKE (CI 42090), RED 21 LAKE (CI 45380), CARMINE (CI 75470), IRON OXIDE (CI 77491). IRON OXIDE (CI 77492), IRON OXIDE (CI 77499)

Besides the attractive nude pink shade that is visible from the transparent, classy tube, what made me so interested on this product the first time I opened it is its scent. It smells wonderfully yummy! I like the sweet-smelling lip products the most because it gives me that kilig moment (if you're a makeup lover, then you know what I mean). ;)

Here's the wand.

The wand carries enough products to cover both my lips.

Swatch on my hand

The product is very pigmented. I love the nude pink color very much!!!

On the lips

I like the matte finish and I also like how thin and light it feels when applied. It can be a bit drying some times but at least it doesn't go as far as the product cracking while applied. It doesn't do any bleeding and it lasts the whole day!

I'm loving this product and I use it a lot, especially when I have a dramatic eye makeup going on. ;)

What are your thoughts on the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci? :)
