Review: Allue Eau de Colognes

Hi Gorgeous readers!

Smelling fresh is always important!
Filipinos are very particular of what they smell like. Even our ancestors from the pre-hispanic era, whom I learned from my trip to the Ayala Museum, bathe around twice a day!

Personally, I keep my stash of perfumes and eau de toilettes which I interchange according to what my mood was that day.

And of course, there's the classic colognes! It's been a while since I had one. I remember having lots when I was younger (like my pre-teens-teens). I haven't been buying these since I prefer a stronger dose of fragrance now.

(Confused about the differences of perfumes, toilettes and colognes (I know I was)? Then Click HERE)

But now I got myself 2 bottles of them!

Allue Eau de Cologne in Cheer Me Up and Gossamer Wings

Allue Cheer Me Up Eau de Cologne 100ml

says:
Feel and smell explicitly lovely by just a spritz of Girl Next Door Eau de Cologne

Ingredients:
Aqua, Ethyl Alcohol, Fragrance, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cl 42090

Cheer Me Up has this sort of a mild cool/chill smell. I can't say it is floral nor citrus-y. It can even pass as a unisex cologne according to my sis!

Allue Gossamer Wings Eau de Cologne 100ml

says:
Feel and smell explicitly lovely by just a spritz of Fairy Tale Eau de Cologne

Ingredients:
Aqua, Ethyl Alcohol, Fragrance, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cl16035, Cl19140

I like this scent. It's a mild floral-ish yet playful scent! It's girlier if compared to Cheer Me Up. :)

The colognes smell light and fresh. Very young and playful, fit for tweens up to the young-at-heart!
When sprayed on skin, the scent may linger only around 2-3 hours. Probably because of the high humidity and the heat! But on clothes, although it became faint, lasted the whole day while I was in school!

More infos on the Eau de Colognes:

Available in 6 Variants
Allue Fairy Tale Pixie Dust
Allue Fairy Tale Gossamer Wings
Allue Fairy Tale Magic Wand
Allue Girl Next Door Cheer Me Up
Allue Girl Next Door Feel So Fuzzy
Allue Girl Next Door Oh So Pretty

*These are quite good as presents for younger sisters, nieces and daughters this holiday season!

What else can be expected of Allue?
Allue My First has 3 lines that depict the personality of the modern tween -- Glam Rock, Fairy Tale (where I probably belong) and Girl Next Door. Aside from scents, Allue has a wide array of personal care products for tweens such as pressed powders, eye shadows, lip balms/ gloss, cheek blusher, lotion, hair and makeup accessories and a lot more. The color cosmetics are mildly formulated to suit a tween's delicate skin and are safe to use as certified by the FDA (Food & Drugs Administration).

NOTD: Princess Uli

Hi Girls!

Just an NOTD post!

I was getting tired of vibrant colored nails and nail art so I went back to the classic French Tips!

Too bad the main coat was already getting too sticky so I used other nail polishes instead. :P

I named this NOTD as Princess Uli because I combined both the names of the Nail Polishes I used. :)

Here are the Nail Polishes used in this NOTD.

Here's what I did:

I applied 1 coat of the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth Program

I applied 1 coat of Zoya Nail Polish in Uli
and topped it off with a coat of Caronia Nail Polish in Princess (My fave).

I used the Sally Hansen French Manicure Pen for the tips.
It's a matte white in color.
It was easier to use compared to using a white nail polish for it is waaaay easier to handle.

The only problem I encountered was that it has been used too many times that the tip is misshaped already.

and lastly, another coat of the Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Daily Nail Growth Program for extra endurance! :P

And here's my Princess Uli Nails! :D

LOL
I'm actually at school while doing the first few parts of this post.
I have no idea how to use a tool in one of the applications we were studying about so I quickly logged in to put the captions for this post (I uploaded the photos last night).

Anyway, I'll do an FOTD post on the look I have on the picture above (it looked better earlier -- I've been in school for 8 hours now and I don't usually bring stuff for retouching except for a translucent powder and the lipstick I used).

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 4

 Hello everyone!

Week 4 of the 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas giveaway has finally arrived!!

Another set of featured products to be given away by Hbc!

So what is our featured product this week?

Color me mine. Rosy blushes that define a natural looking flush. A week of beautiful smiles await you.

A few swirls of blusher livens up pale cheeks. It also helps shape your face. Your blusher shade should mimic the natural color of your cheeks. Smile and apply blush on the fleshy part that pops up and you’re good to go.

Not sure which blush to wear?
Fair skin goes well with rose blushers while apricot or bronzers are a sure hit for dark skin. Powder blushers are usually best for oily and combination skin which makes San San Cheek Blushers handy with four great shades that are waiting to uncover the real beauty in you.
All you have to do is answer this week’s question:

Who makes you blush?
(Post a short “blush” story or even a link to his/her photo).

I actually find the question hard to answer...
because the first person that pops into my head that makes me blush has always been a secret. Only a few people know who and I want it to remain that way for a while. Haha! Chos!

Anyway, I'll just share with you my newly found crush!

I was watching the mini series, "Pillars of the Earth" a few days ago and I keep smiling whenever this guy shows up on the screen.

His name is Eddie Redmayne.
I think he is UBER hot! He's smart, a Tony awardee and a model for Burberry! Rawr! :D

Happy Beautiful Christmas!

Week 3 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

It's a Monday again, girls!

Which means there are 2 more winners of HBC's 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas Giveaway!

The winners of this week's featured product,
San San Hydrating Color Dew lipsticks,
Answered the question:

What’s your secret to kissable lips?

and among the beautiful ladies who answered this question,
I found Camille Quiambao's answer very creative!
She said:

My secret to kissable lips is
H-heap of sugar to exfoliate my lips
B-big, genuine smie
C-constantly using San San Hydrating Color Dew lipstick

She maintains kissable lips with a lot of HBC! :)

And the randomly picked winner of the week is:
Mary Aiko Orcilla!
Her secret to kissable lips is:

My secrets for having Kissable Lips is that i always exfoliate my lips by gently brushing it and then i always put put balm on it so it don't get dry. I also eat nutritious foods and avoid smoking of course to prevent dark lips. :)

For me I just exfoliate my lips, moisturize with a very good lipbalm and apply a really eye-catching lipgloss or lipstick! I consider my lips one of my prettiest asset so I have to take care of them! :P

Congratulations again,

Camille Quiambao and Mary Aiko Orcilla!

I will be leaving you girls a message in your email! Hope you can respond within 48 hours! :)

Thanks everyone for joining! Wait for the Week 4 post! Do join again! :D

Review: Etude House Drawing Eye Brow Pencil

 Hello, Lovelies!

Today I will review one of the cosmetics that made me very, VERY happy I bought it.
It's the...
Etude House Drawing Eye Brow Pencil in 01 (Dark Brown)!
(I bought the dark brown one so it matches my hair color since I just colored it)

Why did it give me such big amount of happiness?

Well, my eyebrows have always been a problem of mine.
It's very hard to manage it. It was actually linear (As you can see in the pictures below):

My baby pic and my linear eyebrows

And my 'Nene' pic way back in High School

I was very envious of the eyebrows of my classmates who have natural arcs! So I experimented and plucked it 'til some of my pores bleed!

Of course I over-plucked. Haha!

My eyebrows met some other accidents before too like when I was trying to cut the long hairs with scissors and I cut too much. Some of the hair didn't grow back -- which led to my eyebrows having gaps. :(

So now I rely on makeup to cover the gaps. My problem is that I have thick hairs... somewhat bushy eyebrows. They also grow fast which really pisses me off because I really hate plucking. Haha!

I tried using eyeshadows first. It performs OK but not long-lasting enough.

Then I used NYC browser. But the powder was too light for my eyebrows.
Here's a pic of what it looked like on my brows:

Too light. It doesn't blend well on my eyebrows.

I've also tried the brow kits of Maybelline and E.L.F. They were also good. I sometimes put too much powder that makes my brows really dark, but other than that, they perform really well. I was contented...

Until the time I went to a branch of Etude House for the first time. My sis was the one who picked the Etude House Drawing Eye Brow Pencil and tested it on her brows. When I saw what it did to my sis' eyebrows, I took one and quickly added it to my shopping basket!

So on to the review!
The Etude House Drawing Eye Brow Pencil comes in a somewhat rectangular shape which makes it easier to apply (especially at the tail of your brows). It doesn't appear heavy or too dark even if you pressed it too hard against your brows (which I like the most about it). Unlike other pencils I used, the pigments easily touch your skin as you glide the pencil. Plus, you don't need to sharpen it anymore!

It also comes with a brush!

Here's a swatch on my hand. The top one, I did 2 strokes and the bottom one, I tried smudging.

Here's a before and after picture of my brows:
I managed to tame the craziness of my brows. Haha!

I also tried it on my friend's brows:
She loved it so much she wants to buy one soon.

To sum it all up:

What I like about it:

  • Doesn't appear heavy even when over-applied
  • Comes in 6 colors such as dark brown, grey, black, etc.
  • Very affordable (around Php150.00)
  • No need to sharpen because you can just twist it up!
  • Long-lasting
  • Easy to apply
  • I like the rectangular shape of it.
  • Comes with a brush

What I don't like about it:

  • I honestly can't think of anything else except that I don't live near any of the malls that has Etude House Branches!

Will I repurchase? DEFINITELY!
I'm so in-love with it! I'm planning to buy the grey one too! :P

*Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the brand mentioned in this review. All items here are purchased by me.

Christmas Party with The Body Shop

Hi girls!!
This post is somewhat picture heavy. :P

Christmas is just a month away!

Excited? I used to be...
I loved seeing the city all decorated with Christmas lights and ornaments. I love attending Christmas parties and exchanging presents. And of course the celebration with the family during Christmas Eve.

But now I'm dreading every day that passes by. Why? Because of my thesis! Haha! I wish it's March already!! :P

But enough of the drama! There are still good things that happen even in the middle of these stressful school related stuff. One is going to museums and another is getting invited to events!

Last Thursday, my sister, Tracy, and I went to Ayala Museum. Too bad taking of pictures weren't allowed inside. :( We loved their collection of Jose Joya and Fernando Zobel paintings the most. We also saw John Lloyd Cruz there (quite odd actually).

And after that, we went to The Body Shop's Christmas Party Event with my fellow bloggers!

The venue is at The Body Shop Glorietta

The place was very well-decorated! Look how Christmas-y the surrounding is!

My sister posing in between some of our favorite TBS items.

That's me next to some Christmas Gift Packs. :)
Speaking of Gift packs, don't forget their promo on those wherein you can buy 3 of the gifts and get 1 for free! And you can get a better offer if you're a Love Your Body Member! See more details on their promos and events here.

Here's a list of the bloggers who went in the event!

Oh! And before the event, Issa asked us what special The Body Shop Item would I like to give to a special loved one and why I picked it out.
I can't say which one I picked out though, I still want to surprise my friend about it...

So back to the event...
Issa hosted it and she called each blogger as she handed-out the TBS blogger gift bags and then asked us to tell everyone which TBS item we picked out for our special loved one.

That's Shen of Shen's Addiction sharing with us about what she picked.

And they also prepared us some yummy food to enjoy during the event!

And they even have donuts that spell out Give Joy! The theme of their Christmas Event.

Tracy, enjoying the Red Velvet Mini Cupcakes!

The TBS staff also prepared a dance number! :D

and you can still get free makeovers too!

Look who I saw during the event! It's Carissa! The one who did my makeup during the Wintertrend makeover event!

Here's us with fellow beauty bloggers, Shen, Martha, and Bambi. :D

Jo-I, The Body Shop Ph's Marketing Director, giving a speech.

And here are the sisters with Issa and Danica

 and me with Jo-I. :)

The event was short but fun! Thanks The Body Shop PH for the invite!!

And back home I get to open the Christmas Gift TBS gave me.

Items included were:
Olive Oil Dry Oil Mist (Yay! It's back!!)
Spiced Vanilla Reed Diffuser
Cranberry Joy Lip Balm
Cranberry Joy Hand Wash
And the special item they asked me before the event that I will give to my friend.
They actually gave it to me! Yayy! But I won't name what it is yet (It's still a secret!).

It was really a wonderful day for me. Art + Beauty related stuff is what I love most!
Thanks again TBS! I'm hoping for a next time! Haha! :)

Happy Holidays everyone! :)
