Review : Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream

Hello loves!

It's been a while since I last ordered at Sample Room. A couple of weeks ago, I remembered that I used to check their samples out regularly. And so, I visited their website and I looked at their selections if theres a product that I would like to try. I didn't have much points so I stayed away from brands that are expensive. As I was browsing, one product caught my eye...

'
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream

Why? First, it's a BB Cream with SPF 50 and p++++. Since it is summer, I thought it would be a good everyday base for my face. Another reason is that it's within the sample points I have. Lastly, the sample I would get is the full-size product!

I ordered it along with an Olay soap. After only a couple of days, the package arrived to my doorstep! Awesome quick delivery!

I was surprised that the product I received not only contained the BB cream, but also a whitening soap! A nice duo to help lighten skin, especially if you've been exposed too long under the sun due to the summer season (hello beach!).

The duo creates a good combo as seen on the info at the back of the box. The soap helps you whiten skin, while the BB cream helps to protect skin from the sun while it conceals blemishes and evens skin. The BB cream also claims to help whiten skin as well! See info below for more details.

Info on the back of the tube:

Info from the website:

This product for the face even out skin tone with its Tone Correcting Formula, leaving a flawless natural finish. It uses the powerful combination of Kojic Acid + Tranexamic Acid that is clinically proven to whiten 64% better than products that use Kojic Acid alone. It has SPF 50 and PA++++ that protect skin against age-accelerating UV rays.

Info from Sample Room:
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream delivers that instant flawless no makeup look as your skin whitens over time.
Its Tone Correcting formula evens out skin tone and conceals skin imperfections like scars, fine lines, and wrinkles.  Even better, it has the power of Kojic Acid and Tranexamic Acid that over time improves skin clarity, whitens your complexion, and reduces the appearance of stubborn dark spots.
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream is also rated SPF 50 & PA++++, protecting your skin against age-accelerating UV rays.

Directions: Use it alone to instantly cover blemishes and imperfections, or layer it under your favorite foundation or powder.

FULL SIZE: 50ml
PRICE: PHP 349.75

The packaging, design-wise is pretty okay. It looks professional because of the fonts and the pearl finish, but it gives a bold and fun vibe because of the orange and the metallic cap. The material is a plastic tube that's easy to squeeze out the product. The nozzle is small so you can control the amount you dispense.

This is the product.

At first I thought that it's pretty light and I was hoping that it was warmer in tone. It says "medium to deep" on the label so I thought that it would be darker in shade. It's not much of a deal because I still think its pretty close to my shade at first glance.

When I lightly spread it, I noticed how lightweight it was. It feels like a mousse-cream combo. No stickiness at all.

When blended on skin, it was very sheer. It reminds me of tinted moisturizers.

See how it performs on my face below:

Your left: Bare face
Your right: With the BB Cream

There was barely any difference actually. It somehow lessen the redness, but the blemish marks are still very visible. I do appreciate, however, the matte natural finish it leaves.

I still use concealer when I wear this to work. It can last the whole day, but do take note that I stay in an air-conditioned room most of the time. The product doesn't help in controlling oil though. I need to blot after 3-4 hours to remove the shine off my face.

I didn't encounter any breakouts nor irritations so far and I can't comment yet if it did help whiten my skin. I haven't seen any difference yet.

What I LIKE:
- Locally available (Pinoy made)
- Affordable
- SPF50 and pa++++
- Natural, matte finish
- Lightweight
- Smells good
- Packaging is okay
- Easy to blend

What I DON'T LIKE:
- This is just me, but I like coverage. It doesn't have to have a heavy one but I would appreciate a bit of concealing. I find this too sheer.

Would I buy again? I don't think so. Like I said, I appreciate some coverage. If you do have good skin, then this might be a good buy for you. The SPF is high enough for a daily sunscreen (I do advise a higher SPF of you'll be outside a long while).

And that's my review of the
Belo Intensive Whitening BB Cream! :)

Review : Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream in No. 27

Hello loves!

This is actually a late post, but I still want to share it because this product that I will review is one of the few BB creams that I LOVE!

Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream

I bought this at Cinderella, Glorietta for PhP 799.00. I purchased this a long time ago and I'm not sure if the Missha stall is still there. :P

The shade is have is No. 27, Honey Beige. This is not my exact shade. It's a tone darker, but during the time I took the photos, my skin was also darker or of the same shade as this BB Cream. So all was good!

Before I proceed with the review, here's what was written on the label of the product's packaging:

And on the website:

Originally developed as a salve for patients after laser treatment, BB Cream’s soothing and regenerative properties were adapted for cosmetics to improve skin while providing coverage. The M Perfect Cover BB Cream is Missha’s most popular product with over 30 million sold worldwide. Combining cosmetics with skin care, this product promotes natural-looking coverage while providing sun protection, treating dark spots, and preventing wrinkles.

The M Perfect Cover BB Cream is suitable for all skin types and can be used as a makeup base or foundation.

Size: 50ml

How to Use:
After your basic skin care routine, use a primer for an even base
Pump out an appropriate amount of BB Cream (1 pump is usually more than sufficient)
Dab product on cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose areas and use the tips of your fingers to lightly smooth product over face OR
Lightly dab product with a sponge and smooth evenly over face
Build coverage using leftover product by lightly tapping over any problem areas
Set with powder for a matte finish if desired

Ingredients:
Water(Aqua), Cyclomethicone, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Zinc Oxide, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mineral Oil, Phenyl Trimethicone, Talc, Arbutin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Dimethicone, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Squalane, Adenosine, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Polyethylene, Beeswax(Cera Alba), Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Caviar Extract, Algae Extract, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Fagus Sylvatica Bud Extract, Ceramide 3, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Chloride, Fragrance(Parfum), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Hydroxyisohexyl 3-Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Benzyl Salicylate, Hydroxycitronellal, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Citronellol
MAY CONTAIN[+/-; Titanium Dioxide(CI 77891), Iron Oxides(CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499)]

The one I bought is the 20ml tube. Missha also has this in a 50ml tube with a pump dispenser. The smaller size is just a simple tube with a small nozzle. You can easily control the amount of product you dispense (it also helps that the product has a thick, creamy consistency). Design-wise, it looks classy with it's metallic red color, with a twist cap that's silver. The fonts used show a serious tone which shows a different vibe compared to most cutesy designs that I usually see in Korean makeup.

Missha claims that the Perfect Cover BB can provide sun protection, add coverage, and is anti-aging (although I consider this more as moisturizing), lightweight, and gives a natural-looking finish. Those claims are music to my ears because those are exactly the things I look for in my base makeup! Let's see if these are true. ;)

Here's the product. As mentioned above, the consistency is quite thick and creamy...

But when spread out, you'll feel that it really is lightweight, but also gives quite an impressive coverage.

It gives a semi-matte finish. See the before and after photos of my face below for a better comparison:

Bare face
with the product

The yellow undertone of the shade Honey Beige gave me a more warmer tone which I actually like because it is closer to my neck and shoulders' skin shade. My face is redder as it is often exposed to the sun.

As seen on the photos, it does give that matte finish but still not flat (that's why I call it semi-matte). It actually looks natural! The coverage is really good as it took care of the redness and also the pimple scars I have. It's buildable too! Just dab it on the darker scars and it's like an instant concealer. It didn't do much on the pore reducing part if you're wondering about that... but this product doesn't claim anything to help in that department so this is not an issue.

As suggested in the product description, I apply a setting powder on top. By adding so helped with minimizing pores and the combo of BB Cream + powder made sure that my makeup lasted for the whole day. Even if I don't blot my oily skin, my base makeup is still there (but shiny with all the oil).

Sorry for the ugly brows again

I like that this product simplifies my morning rituals as it is like a moisturizer + sunscreen + foundation in one. I do still use an oil free moisturizer underneath, but if I'm in a hurry, the hydration that this product provides is enough. I brought this with me when I travelled to Australia and it was just so handy!

What I LIKE:
- Really good coverage (buildable)
- Has SPF 42, PA+++
- Long-lasting
- Lightweight
- Easy to blend on skin
- The shade Honey Beige is warm tone
- Gives adequate moisture to skin
- Natural-looking finish
- Packaging
- Locally available

What I DON'T LIKE:
- This is not really a big issue, but I find Missha PH's price a bit more expensive than I expect (if I compare it to the prices in the Korea and some other Asian countries and even in the US).
- No oil control (As I've mentioned, the product never claimed to control sebum production so it's still not an issue... I just prefer products with oil control)

So yeah... All the claims that it promises are all true. No wonder it's one of Missha's best selling products. As I've said, I love this BB Cream and I recommend this if you're looking for a BB to try.

Have you tried the Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream? What shade are you? Do you like it too?

Fashion 21 Ultimate Cover BB Cream + Concealer

Hey dearies!

When choosing my base makeup, I always look for coverage as well as getting that natural-looking finish, which means something that's not too dewy nor shimmery, not too flat, and the shade is pretty close to my skin color (warm). Another quality that I appreciate is the high sun protection—Living in a tropical country, especially since it's the summer, we should protect ourselves from the sun's harsh effects. Even though we do have sunscreens, if your bb cream or foundation can provide as much sun protection, that's pretty much hitting two birds with one stone. Finally, knowing how hard it is to earn money, I look for affordability. I use makeup whenever I go out so that's mostly everyday since I do go to work during the weekdays. Using foundations and bb creams that often will lead me to purchase more often than other kinds of makeup, so finding a cheap alternative is always awesome.

This is why I was intrigued when I read an email about this new product from Fashion 21... the Ultimate Cover BB Cream and Concealer.

It claims to do all those things that I mentioned! Check out the press release:

"There’s no need to look far for a great BB cream and concealer—it’s all in the Ultimate Cover. Our lightweight formula provides excellent coverage that maintains its color even in the face of sweat and humidity. Both products can either be applied separately or combined for the smoothest evenly-toned and blemish-free look, and our three-color range fits any skin tone. It comes with SPF30+."

And one tube is only PhP  225.00.

It seems very interesting, right?

Check out the labels on the box and the tube for more info:

The tube is easy to squeeze and easy to control how much product you dispense. You just twist the black cap to get to the nozzle.

At the end is another clear cap that you can twist to get to the concealer. The clear cap makes the shade visible and it adds a little class to the design.

The Ultimate Cover BB Cream + Concealer comes in three shades: 1, 2, and 3.

The lightest shade is 1 and the darkest is 3. The one is use is shade no. 1 which I think is more like a medium shade since it is close to my color. It can be a problem to the mestizas or those with lighter skin tone.

To give you an idea, check out the swatches below:

Swatches of the concealer from 1-3.

The BB Creams from 1-3

When spreaded-out

When blended

Below are pictures of the BB Cream and the concealer side by side. I used the shade no. 1 since that is my color.

On top is the concealer and the one at the bottom is the BB Cream.

I think the concealer is a shade lighter so that it brightens the under eyes since that's where we usually apply concealer the most.

When slightly blended

Both are very creamy. The concealer is very pigmented but still feels light on skin. The BB cream has a light to medium coverage but partnered with the concealer, it can conceal the imperfections quite well. See the photos below.

And below are my pictures using the product as base with the rest of my makeup:

Looks pretty good right?

The first thing I noticed when I used this product is how lightweight it was, even the concealer, and this is something that's unusual when it comes to base products that have coverage.

The scent of both BB cream and concealer is pleasant and none of the chemical scent. The smell is barely noticeable too.

As I have said, the BB cream has a light-medium coverage so if you like light makeup, then you can use it alone. If you want a more made-up look, then use the concealer for a more flawless face. Both products have buildable coverage and consistency of both is creamy which makes them easy to apply. For darker pimple scars, the concealer is unfortunately not enough so you can see in the pictures that some acne scars are still visible.

The lasting power is pretty-decent. I have oily skin and since this do not have oil control, my face gets shiny in 3-4 hours. The excess sebum will cause the makeup to slide off so I have to make sure to blot to make it last the whole day. But I would rather reapply again so I look prettier. Haha! The product is pretty cheap so I don't have any problem using it often.

I've used this product for a week and so far, I did not encounter any breakouts nor irritations.

Overall, I like it! It does give coverage, it is lightweight, and it's very, very affordable! I like that the sunscreen is pretty good too! I also like that it's a 2-in-1 product which makes it a great travel-buddy. I just wish that it has more shades, especially for those with light skin tone. Still, the shades 2 and 3 are good news for morenas because we rarely have those, especially in warm shades.

And those are my thoughts on Fashion 21's Ultimate Cover! Have you tried this? Let me know what you think!
