Etude House: I'm Blooming Sebum Control Mist

Good evening ladies,

Just sharing with you a quick product review of Etude House's I'm Blooming, Sebum Control Mist.

So, firstly, I would like to apologize for the lack of photos in this post. Haven't had the time to snap a shot of my face at the end of the day as I most often crash-sleep onto my bed once I get home. But... I do promise to update this post one of these days with a snap of my face. :)

One of the biggest problems I really have is that my face gets super oily throughout the day. It gets so bad that if I don't wash or wipe my face, my eyes start to sting because my face's oil kind of seeps onto it (not a very good mental picture I imagine). It's also problematic when I'm wearing make-up as the constant blotting does not help me prolong my make up. Since Dawn already introduced me to sebum control mists, I decided to get one hence this product.

So what does this mist promise? See picture below for answers.

Now for my thoughts:

1. True enough it helps LESSEN the sebum onto my face. I usually start oiling up (if I am in the Clinical Division) around noon and the sebum just looks like grease. When I used the mist, the sebum was not as worse as it used to be.

2. I do find it quite refreshing on the skin whenever I use it. Sometime when I feel my face is dry, I spray it.

3. It does not help much in making your make-up last long. Sorry ladies, it really doesn't.

4. It smells fantastic.

So, there you have it for my quick product share/review.

Cheers,
LIZ

ZA Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream

Hey loves!

Just sharing a quick review on

ZA Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream
I bought this on a huge discount actually. The original price was Php 725.00 and I got it for only Php 399.00. Awesome, right?

I was convinced by my friend, Robin, to purchase one... oh wait... she really planned to go to SM North to buy it because it was on sale... I was just an impulse buyer and bought one too because of the huge discount. Haha!

For more info on this product, here are pictures of the labels on the box:

I decided to get it because moisturizing is an important thing in skincare. It was such a good deal and I knew that I'd surely use this. I have emptied the tub a week ago actually. It took me more than a month to finish the whole tub!

I use this every night before I go to bed (I use a different moisturizer in the morning). What you'll notice in your first try is that it smells really pleasant. It looks thick but it feels light on skin and it gets absorbed by the skin within a few minutes.

You'll also notice that your skin gets firm and soft, especially the next day after you wake up. It really does the job hydrating my skin. I really like it and I'm happy that I got a great deal with this product. I just don't advice those with oily skin like me to wear it during the day or underneath makeup because it will really oil you up! Just use this at night and let it's uber moisturizing magic work on your skin. :D

Cheers,

MYRA HOLISTIC SKIN CARE – BEAUTIFUL SKIN STARTS FROM WITHIN

Hey guys!

I received great news from Myra Philippines!

They have new brand ambassadors that embody that effortless glowing skin...

And they are no other than Ms. Judy Ann Santos and Pop Princess Sarah Geronimo.

I believe they are excellent choices because they just look great as they age! They just keep getting more beautiful as time pass by. They really know how to take good care of themselves and I'm sure many of us would love to know how they do it.
Some of the things we can do to achieve that glow from within were sent to me the other day by Myra which are as follows:

- Kor Water Bottle which is a popular hydration vessel used by stars like Oprah, David Bekham, Martha Stewart and Gwyneth Paltrow.
- Yummy Healthy at Home Recipe Book that gives instructions on how to create delicious, healthy dishes for our tummies.
- And of course, Myra 300E and 400E!

With all these plus a few more tips which I shall mention in a few, we can achieve a Myra Holistic Skin Care! Check out this press release to learn more about this campaign:

HOLISTIC SKIN CARE – BEAUTIFUL SKIN STARTS FROM WITHIN

If you think your facial creams and lotions are doing enough to keep your skin look beautiful, think again. Recent studies now show that the real secret to healthy, young-looking and glowing skin has to start from within.

To get that effortless, “lit from within” glow, you have to complement your creams and lotions with a healthy lifestyle and way of life. Use this checklist as a guide to gauge whether you’re taking care of your skin from within—it’s truly the best way to keeping your skin healthy and beautiful:

✓ Sleep. Your entire body, including your skin, goes into repair mode while you snooze. Help your skin cells regenerate and your facial muscles relax by making sure you catch quality sleep. Still feel like you’re not getting enough rest when you wake up in the morning? One of the reasons could be that your alarm is rousing you in the middle of your deep-sleep stage. To make mornings less of a drag—or if you know you’re only catching a few hours of shuteye—try setting a wake-up time that’s a multiple of 90 minutes. This is the length of the average sleep cycle, so you’re sure to wake up to a beautiful morning.

✓ Exercise. Even though you know that a good work out is great for your heart, lungs, and mental outlook, chances are, you’re still not hitting the gym as much as you should. Here’s a little motivation that’ll inspire you to get moving: Regular exercise is also one of the keys to scoring healthy skin. By increasing blood flow, exercise helps nourish skin cells and keeps them vital. It also helps carry away waste products, including free radicals, from working cells. Think of it as a cleanse for your skin, but from the inside.

✓ Hydrate. Healthy skin is well-hydrated skin. If you want your complexion to glow, you need to make sure that you’re drinking enough H20 on a daily basis. Keep this Kor water bottle on your desk at work or in your car, and remember to sip often. Want to add a little flavor? Toss in a lemon wedge or a splash of fruit juice— it’s a great substitute for sugary sodas or iced teas.

✓ Eat Well. Did you know that the food you eat matters to your skin almost as much as it does to your waistline? This is because your skin uses vitamins and nutrients from food to repair and rebuild damaged skin cells. Make time to plan your meals daily with the help of this Yummy Light Meals recipe book, so you don’t end up going for unhealthy options or fast food.

Take Vitamin E. This is where the heart of Holistic Skin Care is. As you go about your usual work day, you get exposed to bad and uncontrollable free radicals that damage your cells. The result: tired-looking skin that looks dull, dry, and aging. Help your skin bounce back and recoup easily by adding a daily dose of Vitamin E to your diet. Since this vitamin isn’t produced by the body, taking a powerful Vitamin E supplement like Myra, can help. It’s rich in anti-oxidants to help boost your skin from within and also stops skin-damaging, free radicals from stealing life from your cells. The best part is, it also repairs damaged cells and works hard to protect the healthy ones. And with more healthy cells in your body, you’ll be able to have beautiful, glowing and younger-looking skin throughout the years to come.

When thinking of beautiful skin, always remember this formula:
your creams and lotions + a healthy lifestyle + healthy cells = healthy, youthful-looking, and glowing skin. Make sure that you take care of your skin from within with Myra Holistic Skin Care. Go ahead—take a Myra Capsule now!

Makeup Experiment #15 : Bom Park

Hello everyone!

I'm currently watching a reality TV show from South Korea called Roommate. It's a show about eleven celebrities (actors, singers, models, and athletes) living in one house. These people can leave the house (unlike Big Brother) when they have projects or when there's a need to shop for groceries and such.

One of the celebrities in the show is the 2NE1 (an all-girl KPop group) member, Park Bom. I am familiar with her because I happen to listen to BigBang which is in the same company as 2NE1. Also a member of the famous girl group is Sandara Park which was a big celebrity in the Philippines around a decade ago.

Anyway, just recently, Park Bom was involved in a drug smuggling scandal which actually happened four years ago. I have no idea about the whole story but it's something that happened in the past and is being brought up today for some reason. Because of this scandal, Bom left the reality show indefinitely. It really saddened me because honestly, she's the major reason why the show was even entertaining for me. Haha! Without her in it, I just might stop watching. :P

I have a friend who also watches the show. Yuki, who some of you may find familiar because she's been a model of mine in a couple of my makeup experiments, also likes Park Bom. We thought that we should do a makeup experiment inspired by the singer to show our support to the 8D Alien Personality lady (lol). It was something we just decided all of a sudden so we didn't really have time to prepare. Good thing Yuki already has long, black hair so all we need to work on is the makeup! :D

Here's Yuki with the Park Bom-inspired makeup.

Bom has actually done numerous looks. We had a hard time choosing our reference from her different makeup looks and numerous hairstyles and hair color. Eventually, we ended up picking this picture from their latest album, Crush.

Park Bom

And this is how we interpreted it.

Here's a before and after pictures of Yuki:

Since this is a KPop makeup look, it will surely involve eyeliners and very clear skin. It's something we really enjoyed doing and it only took us a couple of hours to finish.

We didn't have any false lower lashes so I ended up drawing the lower lashes. LOL

I also loved doing a gradient lips effect on her lips. I rarely do this look on me but it looks so cute on Yuki.

Yuki agreed to paint her nails red even if she doesn't like applying nail polish. That's dedication! Haha!

She even cut her bangs since Bom sports full bangs most of the time.

I just love the eye makeup of this look! Don't you?

And of course, we have to take photos of her eating on the bed. It's something Bom does a lot—wakeup, eat, sleep. LOL

So what do you think of this makeup experiment?

BTW, I also did a makeup experiment inspired by another 2NE1 member, Dara. Click here if you'd like to check it out. I only need to do a makeup experiment that are CL and Minzy-inspired and I have completed the whole girl group! So who wants to volunteer?

Review : Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad—Beloved, Intense, Wish, Hush

Hey loves!

Looking for a multi-purpose eye makeup palette? Then let me suggest this palette from Ellana Mineral Cosmetics:

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Eyebrow/Eyeshadow Quad—Beloved, Intense, Wish, Hush

This very pretty palette palette, with illustrations by Soleil Ignacio, is very affordable at only Php 350.00.

Below are some info on the product from the website:

Brow and Eye Contour Palette: Soft yet well-defined eyebrows do wonders for
framing the face. Likewise, subtly contoured eyes can widen and lift the most
prominent features of our face.

How to Use:
Apply with a brush or sponge. Use sparingly.

Tips and Tricks:
pure high intensity mineral pigments that can be used as eyeshadows and eyeliners.

Ingredients:
Mica, C9-15 Fluoroalcohol Phosphates, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide,, Kaolin, Silicone Dioxide, Magnesium Steatrate, Allantoin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Copper CI 77400, Yellow CI 77492, Black CI 77499

As some of you may know, my favorite part of the makeup routine is my eye makeup. It's always a must for me to add color and definition around my eyes. I love doing bold, colorful looks but sometimes, I like to tone it down every now and then. I believe neutral eyeshadow shades are a must in every kikay girl's stash.

This particular product contains four neutral eye shadow shades that double as eyebrow powder. It's a very handy palette since it's multi-purpose, perfect for on-the-go people and for travel.

The colors are perfectly combined to suit many Filipinas. There is a shade that can be matched to your brows whether you have dark brown, black, or even blonde hair.

Swatches on my hand

From left to right: Beloved, Intense, Wish, and Hush

I use a combination of Beloved and Intense on my brows while I combine all four colors for my eye shadows. I also use the shade Hush to highlight my brow bone. So this product is indeed a very handy product.

Below are pictures on how I usually use the palette:

The soft, pigmented shades are very easy to blend together. They are matte except for the coppery shade Wish. The colors create a simple, very natural look together.

As for the staying power, with primer, it can last a good six to seven hours. On the brows, it stays all day.

What I LIKE:

- Soft and pigmented neutral shades
- Easy to blend
- Affordable
- Good staying power
- Multi-purpose
- Beautiful packaging

What I DON'T LIKE:

- None!

I definitely recommend this palette. It's easy to use and it does your brows and your eyeshadows. Multi-purpose and affordable! I take it with me most of the time, especially when I have to pack lightly when I travel.
