Peachy Pink Sisters Recycle! Wrapping Gifts with Brown Paperbags

Hey everyone!

How's your December so far? Christmas is coming soooooon. I've been wrapping presents for my family and friends lately. Have you done yours?

This Christmas... well, I have been doing this for many years actually, I try to be a bit helpful to our environment and chose to recycle when it comes to wrapping gifts. I'll be sharing with you what I've been doing for the past years and maybe this can give you ideas on how to save up and also be environment-friendly.

I didn't spend a cent when it comes to the wrappers and ribbons. All were recycled... well, except for the scotch tape I guess. Haha!

I collected ribbons from previous gifts and art projects.

Brown paper bags I got from buying items such as groceries.

I reuse boxes from subscription boxes and other products bought before.

Plastic containers are good too!

The thing about this is you are gonna be sort of a pack rat, like a hoarder of recyclable stuff. It will consume space in the house so I guess it depends if you are willing to allot space for the boxes and such until Christmas. :P 

Anyway, I just wrap it in whatever manner I like. I suck at wrapping gifts actually so they don't really look fancy at all. I know some people who can make their recycled wrappers neat and pretty. But hey, I'm just giving ideas here. lol

And there you have it! A simple way of wrapping gifts at no cost and you get to be environmentally friendly! What's not to like about it? :P

Peachy Pink Sister Recycles! What I do with Empty Skincare Bottles

Hey loves!

I'm a frugal person most of the time (I still do have my occasional shopping splurge moments). So I try to get the best deals by purchasing items when it's on sale (I do this often with bags and clothing). 

I guess it's no secret by now that one of the things I buy a lot are makeup and skincare products. But after buying them and using them, my frugality kicks in again. I recycle!!! Both the bottle and the box! Haha! For the box, I repaint the outside, put some patterns and design, and it's an instant gift box! I just add a ribbon!

For bottles, I recycle them by using them as gift "boxes"—sort of like a "gift" in a bottle. When I like the bottle so much, just like the certain kind of pump bottle I use in this post, I redesign it and use it at home as sanitizer or hand soap bottles for example.

Here's what I did with it...

I personalize it so I have my own hand soap bottle in my bathroom and I just refill it with those that come in sachets. That gives me a lot of savings!

ANDDD! The recycling doesn't stop there, I also used very old nail polishes for the color!

Here are the items I used for this project:

Old nail polishes that have almost dried out
An empty bottle of my Tonu Moly AC Control Whitening Toner

Nail Polish Remover

Cotton pad

I chose to use nail polishes because since the bottle will be in the bathroom, it will get wet a lot of times. So having a nail polish coat makes the "paint" waterproof.

So here's how I did this...

With the nail polish remover, I cleaned off the labels. I used a ruler to scrape the harder to clean parts.

It actually looks good as a clean, white bottle... but I don't want to waste all those nail polishes so I used them and poured the remaining polishes on the bottle for added design.

It's gonna get messy... and smelly... 

Actually, I didn't thought the design through. HAHA! I did some kind of abstract expressionism there. Hahaha!

It looks really odd and confusing so I had to label it so that people would know that it contains hand soap.

So I use some nail art products to write on it. I still used a nail polish for the label.

And tadaaa!

It's not super pretty because everything I did is random pouring of nail polishes. Haha! I'm sure you could do better with a planned design. :)

And that's how I recycle! I hope it inspires you to recycle some of your items too. 
Mother Earth will surely appreciate it. :)

PPS Bonding with The SAEM Global Eco Mask Sheet

Hey dears!

Liz and I (the peachy pink sisters) had a best friend bonding a couple of weeks ago. We had food delivered, watched movies, and pampered our skin with these mask sheets!

I got this from a my friend who went on a week vacation at Korea. She got me two sheets! Yay! The endorser whose pic is on the packaging is G-Dragon. He happens to be a member of Bigbang and my best friend, Liz, is a huge fan of him so I know that she would love to try this one.

So while we were watching a movie in our house, we wore the masks for 25 minutes. The masks were big enough to occupy our faces (and I have a big one LOL). It was a little difficult unfolding the masks because they don't have those separator plastic material. Just be extra careful so you won't tear it.

 The scent is mild and refreshing and I love that it is cool that it really made me feel relaxed. It doesn't have a cooling effect just to clarify. I say that it's cool because we had our air conditioner on and the mask is wet. :P

Our face looked brighter and so refreshed after a sleepless week of school and work and duty at the hospital! Our faces felt smoother and more supple too. 

We've missed doing this regularly. Before, we see each other weekly but nowadays it's like once a month! Oh well. At least we still make time as much as we can with our busy scheds. Anyway, we loved the masks too and we really hope that The Saem would be available in the Philippines soon! :D
