Week 8 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

It's 2012!
Happy New Year Everyone!

Apologies for being inactive. I've been very busy with my thesis lately.
Oh how I wish it's March already!

Anyway, I will now announce the winners of Week 8, the last of the series of 2011's HBC's 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas.

Beauty inside and out. A story of Christmas bliss is yours this week.

The lucky winners this week answered the question:

What is a happy and beautiful Christmas for you?

and the winning answers came from...

Erlinda Sicad and Gessa Marie C!!

 Their answers are as follows:

"A happy and beautiful Christmas for me is being with my family. It is always the best time to feel the real happiness and true essence of Christmas."

"Well, I actually dont own the picture because I am looking for our family portrait which we had when I was still 12 but I cant find it.. Anyway, here is my answer for the question: What is a happy and beautiful Christmas for you?

A Happy and a beautiful Christmas to me is when you are with your family and of course you are complete together. Since I am a daughter of a seafarer, we only celebrate Christmas with dad once every 4 years. So every time he's with us on a very important season of the year, we may celebrate it food or not we're still happy because we're complete on that special occasion. ;)
"

Congratulations, Girls!

It feels so nice when you get to celebrate such a special occasion with your loved ones. Treasure those moments! :)

I'd like to thank everyone who participated and joined 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful christmas giveaway. I'd like to thank HBC for trusting me to host this awesome campaign along with fellow beauty bloggers. :)

It's been a fun season for me. Tomorrow I'll be back to school... and more sleepless nights again! Haha! Anyway, back to my thesis now... Ciao!

Cheers,

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 8

Hi girls!

Week 8 has arrived!
This will be the last installment of the series of giveaways from PPS and HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas.
Time flies so fast! A few days more and it's 2012!

Beauty inside and out. A story of Christmas bliss is yours this week.

When we were kids, mom and dad will tell us to be good most of the time so that when Christmas comes, Santa will leave something for us. We did well in this challenge and had so much fun going back to the year that was. The Holidays call for moments of being together with old friends from college or high school, videoke nights with officemates and reunions with loved ones. Each experience has a unique story to be told and we can’t wait to hear yours.

To end the Christmas week, we’re giving you 4 of our best bath soaps from Body Recipe. You might wonder where is the beauty element here? It’s in the spirit of GIVING the gift of beauty.

Thank you for being with HBC in the whole 8 Weeks to a Happy Beautiful Christmas.
Now, on to the final week’s question:

What is a happy and beautiful Christmas for you?

(Answer the question then post a photo of your best Christmas on your Facebook and include the Giveaway Photo below).

Who are our lucky winners who answered this question :

What’s your secret to fab-looking nails?

None other than...

*drum roll*

Gizzele Alfonso and Anna Wamilda!!

Here are their answers respectively,

"My secret to my fab looking nails is olive oil, I put the olive on my nails before I go to sleep so that it will become strong and shiny. And also I don’t let my nail polish last for more than 3 days because it can cause yellow discoloration on nails."

and

"My secret for having fab-looking nails is very simple i just use hand lotion to keep my hands and nails moisturized and soft and of course trimming my nails. I'm not really very kikay when it comes to taking care of my nails. But when I want to add a bit of spice to my nails I put on nail polish especially a red nail polish to add sexiness and sophistication! :)"

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 7

Hi Dearies!

It's a Monday again!
That means another featured product from HBC is being given away!
It's Week 7 already... Oh how fast time passes... only 2 more weeks for our amazing giveaway... But just a few days more 'til Christmas!!

So what's the featured product for Week 7?

Tips and toes transformed with colours. A week of pampered nails is coming your way.

Do you know that in ancient Egypt, women used nail colour to signify social order with shades of red at the top? Queen Nefertiti, the wife of King Akhenaton, coloured her fingernails and toenails ruby red; Cleopatra favored crimson. Women of lower rank who coloured their nails were permitted only pale colours. (Wikipedia)

Want a perfect mani-pedi experience? Here are 5 tips from HBC:
1.    Remove traces of old polish with a nail polish remover.
2.    Soak nails in warm, soapy water then add a few drops of essential oil like lavender or peppermint.
3.    Clip tips straight across and gently push cuticles back (resist the urge to trim them). Use a sharp nipper to cut hang nails, and lightly lift away dirt under the nail bed using an orange stick.
4.    File nails to leave edges smooth after clipping. Apply lotion and spray nail surfaces with rubbing alcohol to disinfect and prep them for polish. Wipe dry.
5.    Apply your choice of lacquer starting from the base of the nail brushing outwards. Use a cotton swab or a cotton-covered stick dipped in nail polish remover to remove excess polish on the sides. Finish with a coat of clear polish.

Women of today are so lucky to experiment with whatever nail colour they want, so give your nails the love they deserve with subtle to vibrant hues enriched with Vitamins C and E like San San nail polishes.
Take 5 of these for yourself when you answer this week’s question:

What’s your secret to fab-looking nails?

I love putting color on my nails... I post a lot of NOTD's, usually nail art attempts, posts in this blog. Although I'm guilty that I do not take care of my nails much... They usually suffer of getting yellowish from all the nail polishes I put. So for 2012, I will try my best to pamper my nails. :)

Week 6 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

Week 6 of Peachy Pink Sisters x HBC's 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas is over!

Week 6 is all about a flawless skin.

I struggled... well still struggling with mine. I have acne-prone, oily skin.
And a very handy foundation is a must-have if you want to look flawless!
That's why the featured products of the week are San San Mousse Foundations.

So who are the lucky women who will take home these products?

My favorite answer came from :

Joyluck
she said:

"I feel most flawless right when i wake up in the morning and my husband tells me how beautiful i am! Having someone you love and care about tell you how beautiful you are even if you just got up is priceless! Natural beauty!"

Isn't that sweet? I wish someone would tell me that as well when I wake up every morning. Hahaha! :)

And our random winner is :

pigments4mycanvas
 she said:

"I feel the most flawless when on days that I get enough sleep and have put on a really good night cream. Those are the days when I feel like I don't need that much make up on. But on days that I don't have that luxury of sleep and I run out of cream, I can always trust my all reliable foundations and concealers to make everyday feel like my flawless day. I don't have that much blemish on my face to cover up so some really good foundations and concealers and a little coverage gives me enough boost to feel like I have the fairest and most flawless skin in class. :)"

Congratulations,
Lovely Joy Merced and elizabeth mercado!!
I will be leaving you girls a message in your email! Hope you can respond within 48 hours!
Thanks for joining this week 5's giveaway!

Stay tuned for Week 7!

Have a happy, beautiful Christmas!

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 6

 Hi Lovelies!

Only 2 weeks left before Christmas!
But there are still 3 more weeks for the HBC Christmas Giveaway! Yayyy!

And today we start Week 6 of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas!

So what's this week's featured products?

Flawless skin that’s soft to the touch. A week of timeless beauty unfolds.

Cindy Crawford once said, “foundation is the most individualized makeup you wear.” Aside from foundation being your face’s BFF, it also adds color to your skin and shields it from the drying sun, wind and air conditioning.

Determine your foundation shade in natural light by sampling a swatch along your jawline. If it blends in perfectly without any strange-looking streaks, you’ve found your match. Make sure that your face and neck appear the same in color and the foundation has been well blended near the hairline and the jaw line.

Other options than liquid or powder forms? Try San San Mousse Foundation in Olive, Natural or Beige. Each pot is enriched with Vitamins A, C, and E for healthy skin and has an air whipped formula that provides long lasting color.
Experience a different kind of mousse and stand up to the challenge by simply answering this week’s question:

When do you feel most flawless and why?

Week 5 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

Hi girls!

Week 5 of HBC's 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas is officially over!

I've read your thoughts on the question:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
true or false and why?

This week is actually the week were I received the most number of answers! Yayyy!

And I'm very impressed with all the answers submitted. Some were quite lengthy and some were very straight to the point! Made it difficult for me to choose which one was the best!

Personally, I find that statement true. Beauty is subjective and that it really depends on the person, time, place, culture, and other factors.
So on with the winners,
My favorite answer is from...
Pamiosis.
She said:

"It is a trick question. Beauty depends on a person's point of view, what one person likes, the next may not. Then again that same person may like something one day, and hate it the next day. It is not a question of how you see things. It is a question on how you take it.

I can also call this question as an expression, for it simply means that beauty has no set meaning. Beauty is just purely observer-based. I can relate beauty to the saying, "to each his own". Because beauty can be interpreted by different ideas from different people, it can be according to his biased genetic, emotional, cultural, and social needs. Most people know they understand beauty, but it can be judged through each individual's mind's eye.

In conclusion, there is no "right or wrong" answer in this big question. Every bit of answers given by people can be agreed correct due to their own opinion."

I super agree with you. I can't explain it any better.

And our 2nd winner for this week is
bel sarmiento!
She said:

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The answer whether it is true or not, is like how one actually defines what is beautiful from what is not. An OC person may see a blob of ink as a mess, but for an artsy fartsy, it’s a masterpiece. That OC person may see the other as a weirdo, and so goes vice versa. It’s all a matter of perception. Whatever it is to you that resonates as beautiful is the gage you use to see beauty. It can go far deeper from what the eyes can see. And so goes to EVERYONE having each of their own set of standards, having its own sets of reasons behind it. Beauty is just like the answer to this question, is deep within one’s own opinion—something we all have and no one has to question.

Let’s take it to a simpler note, bakit ang mga kulot, hindi magkanda-ugaga magparebond? Tas ang mga straight eh inlove na inlove magpapakulot? Bakit ang boyfriend mo eh ang pogi pogi sa mata mo kahit na sabi ng friends mo eh hindi? O, bakit hindi mo type yung boyfriend ng kaibigan mo kahit na pinagpipilitan niyang pogi yun kahit na mag-FO pa kayo?:) Well, simply because beauty is in EVERYTHING. It exists and differs merely in the mind which contemplates them. It is still in the monopoly of the eyes which sees it. And that is what makes life more interesting. :)"

Congratulations,
Pamela Jaira Flores and Khrizia Sarmiento

I will be leaving you girls a message in your email! Hope you can respond within 48 hours!

Thanks for joining this week 5's giveaway!
Excited to see what's in store for week 6?

Stay tuned!

Have a happy, beautiful Christmas!

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 5

Happy Monday, everyone!

The eyes are the windows to one's soul.
And through our eyes we can express our emotions more effectively compared to the rest of our body.
My eyes are my most favorite parts of my face that I like putting makeup on because I can pour all my creative ideas on them. I put various colors of eye shadows, eyeliners and the like.

One of my most essential eye makeup is for my lashes.
When I graduated high school and decided to complete my stash of makeup essentials, the most expensive thing I bought was my eyelash curler (because I was traumatized when I bought a cheap one when I was around 14 or 15 years old... My lashes were cut off!). And of course it was partnered with a tried and tested (by my sister) mascara!

Beautiful eyes that steal the show. Treat your lashes to a week of TLC.

Do you know that mascaras existed way back 3,500 BC? Egyptians used bone and ivory as mascara applicators, and blended kohl with crocodile dung, water and honey to create the first mascara. They were primarily used as protection against eye ailments. Egyptians lined their eyes with kohl and used the mascara to deepen their lashes. Because eyes were believed to be the windows of the soul, they concealed them to ward off any evil spirits and bad energy. (Wikipedia)

A dab of mascara goes a long way. Whether it’s lengthening or volumizing that you’d like to achieve, choosing the right products to hype your eyelashes is essential to bringing out the star in you. If you’d like to sport a natural look, go for clear mascaras. They’re perfect for separating lashes without the risk of clumps. Colored mascaras highlight your lash features like San San Thick Lash and San San Long Lash mascaras. Before putting on your eye-opening makeup, caress your lashes with a curler. Ready to flash those tantalizing eyes?
Take home the power of three by answering this week’s question:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
true or false and why?

Oooooh... Very nice question.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this one!

Week 4 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

Hello everyone!

Casting of entries for the 4th Week of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas Giveaway is officially over.

I've read all the entries and I loved reading your answers! :)

It's nice to know that my wonderful readers have their own special someone/s that make them blush! Isn't it just a wonderful feeling?

Among the entries, I found Arra's answer very sweet and will surely make any woman blush if her special someone would do the same to her! That's why I picked her answer as one of this week's winners! Her answer was:

"my bloved husband makes me blush.Whenever he steals a kiss in my nape from behind and caress me lovingly, the blood rushes from the tips on my toes to my cheeks!Nothing beats the glow of being in love!"

Isn't that sweet?

And this week's randomly picked winner is...
Renz Kathleen!
Her answer was:
"This young actor named RYAN GOSLING (the dreamy, hot guy from the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Notebook) made me blush and fall in love with him the moment i saw his latest movie. He's a changed man! Before he looks like a dirty farmer but now, God, he is photoshopped. But there is this guy, simple, friendly, cute and a real gentleman who never fails to make me blush and feel "kilig" everytime we bond. Usually he'd tease me and tell these corny pick-up lines but he'd make sure i would always smile. :">"

Ryan Gosling? Been a while since I last saw one of his movies. I haven't watched Crazy, Stupid Love yet but I do agree that he is hot!

Congratulations,
Arra Morta and Renz Karhleen Mandac!!

I will be leaving you girls a message in your email! Hope you can respond within 48 hours!

Week 5 will be posted in a few so stay tuned!!

Have a happy, beautiful Christmas!

HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas: Week 4

 Hello everyone!

Week 4 of the 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas giveaway has finally arrived!!

Another set of featured products to be given away by Hbc!

So what is our featured product this week?

Color me mine. Rosy blushes that define a natural looking flush. A week of beautiful smiles await you.

A few swirls of blusher livens up pale cheeks. It also helps shape your face. Your blusher shade should mimic the natural color of your cheeks. Smile and apply blush on the fleshy part that pops up and you’re good to go.

Not sure which blush to wear?
Fair skin goes well with rose blushers while apricot or bronzers are a sure hit for dark skin. Powder blushers are usually best for oily and combination skin which makes San San Cheek Blushers handy with four great shades that are waiting to uncover the real beauty in you.
All you have to do is answer this week’s question:

Who makes you blush?
(Post a short “blush” story or even a link to his/her photo).

I actually find the question hard to answer...
because the first person that pops into my head that makes me blush has always been a secret. Only a few people know who and I want it to remain that way for a while. Haha! Chos!

Anyway, I'll just share with you my newly found crush!

I was watching the mini series, "Pillars of the Earth" a few days ago and I keep smiling whenever this guy shows up on the screen.

His name is Eddie Redmayne.
I think he is UBER hot! He's smart, a Tony awardee and a model for Burberry! Rawr! :D

Happy Beautiful Christmas!

Week 3 WINNERS of HBC's 8 ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas

It's a Monday again, girls!

Which means there are 2 more winners of HBC's 8 Ways to a Happy Beautiful Christmas Giveaway!

The winners of this week's featured product,
San San Hydrating Color Dew lipsticks,
Answered the question:

What’s your secret to kissable lips?

and among the beautiful ladies who answered this question,
I found Camille Quiambao's answer very creative!
She said:

My secret to kissable lips is
H-heap of sugar to exfoliate my lips
B-big, genuine smie
C-constantly using San San Hydrating Color Dew lipstick

She maintains kissable lips with a lot of HBC! :)

And the randomly picked winner of the week is:
Mary Aiko Orcilla!
Her secret to kissable lips is:

My secrets for having Kissable Lips is that i always exfoliate my lips by gently brushing it and then i always put put balm on it so it don't get dry. I also eat nutritious foods and avoid smoking of course to prevent dark lips. :)

For me I just exfoliate my lips, moisturize with a very good lipbalm and apply a really eye-catching lipgloss or lipstick! I consider my lips one of my prettiest asset so I have to take care of them! :P

Congratulations again,

Camille Quiambao and Mary Aiko Orcilla!

I will be leaving you girls a message in your email! Hope you can respond within 48 hours! :)

Thanks everyone for joining! Wait for the Week 4 post! Do join again! :D
