Review : Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation

Hello dears!

Some months ago, there was this hype about this foundation from Maybelline that made me curious to try it out myself. I've read many positive reviews about it and I like the part that it gives a matte and poreless finish, good coverage, and it's affordable! At least, those are some of the qualities I was able to see in other reviews. So I got one for my own and see if these are true.

Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo by Eye Studio in Bold Gold and Bad to the Bronze

Hey dolls!

My sister gave me some of her makeup and among them are these eyeshadow pots from Maybelline. I already own other shades but what I like with the ones my sister gave is that they are neutral in shade, and since they are long lasting, they can act as an eyeshadow base.

Here are they are...

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in Sand Sable

Hello dearies!

I like wearing liquid concealers under my eyes to hide dark circles and lessen the appearance of my eye bags. I just feel that liquid concealers feel more lightweight and easier to blend whether I use my fingers or a makeup brush.

Here's one that I'm currently using...

Maybelline Fashion Brow Mascara in Dark Brown

Hello dearies!

Whenever I watch videos by makeup artists online, I usually see them say that the brows can make or break your overall look. I agree. The way you shape, groom, and apply your brow makeup can greatly influence your face. The brows just frames your face so if it's too strong, it can be too distracting; if it's too unruly, it can make your face a bit messy.

So I try my best to make my brows look better. To be honest, I don't have problems making the brows of others look good... But I have a hard time keeping mine look good. My brows are uneven and half of it is thick and full while the outer half is... I guess more manageable...? But I happen to know what I need to keep my brows look better—a brow mascara. And the one I'm using now is...

NOTD: Pink Night Sky

Hey dearies!

Sharing my NOTD!

I was in the mood for a colorful and sparkly one so I got created this using five nail polishes (didn't include my base coat and top coat).

Skin Food Nail Vita in PK205
Miniso Nail Polish
Maybelline Color Show in Crazy Berry
CODE Professional in G603
The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Sequins Gold

Creating this look is easy. I arranged the nail polishes according to how I used them. So I used the first one as a base. Then, after it dries, I got an old makeup sponge and applied the second and third polishes next to each other to create a gradient effect and stamped it on each nail. I topped the darkest shade with the fourth polish and when everything dries, I topped the whole nail with the last polish.

Each nail is like a pink galaxy on the tip of your finger!

It's pretty easy to do but I like that it doesn't look simple. I like the burst of colors and glitter.

So what do you think of this NOTD?

NOTD: Abstract Pastels

Hey guys!

Whenever I get bored, I just scroll down my Facebook timeline and see if there's something interesting to read or watch. I saw this nail tutorial (I'm sorry but I can't remember from who or which page that was from) and the look was pretty much like an action painting. My nail art skills aren't as good though and my nail art tools are limited so I can only come up with this:

It's a mix of purples and blues with glitters, of course!

These are the products I used:

CODE Professional in G603
Maybelline Color Show in
Jenna Hipp (shade to follow)
ORLY Top2Bottom Basecoat + Top Coat
ORLY French Manicure
And some gold chunky glitters :)

It's pretty easy to do. I just fill the nails with my chosen base, preferrably a light colored one and then add the colors. I tap the brush first on a tissue so that it doesn't carry too much polish so that it creates a sort of brush stroke with extra streaks. Play with the colors! Go for light and then dark ones. I added some glitters for extra glam and accents.

What do you think of this NOTD?

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds in Midnight Date

Hi guys!

Sharing some swatches of one of my favorite lippies lately...

Maybelline The Loaded Bolds in Midnight Date
It's PhP 299.00.

I bought it  from BeautyMNL while it was under a promo. I get two shades of The Loaded Bold Lipsticks from Maybelline, and a bottle of Listerine. I wanted new lippies and I needed mouthwash so it was a win-win purchase! However, I just took a chance on the colors I'll get because the shades inclided in the promo was already fixed. The other shade was black and I thought I could use one while the other one (which is this one) was a deep dark shade and I know that reds compliment me pretty well. So obviously, I bought them and I have no regrets because I LOVE the shades I got, especially this one!

Here's the product description from the website:

WHAT IT IS
Color Sensational® Loaded Bolds Lipstick. Maybelline’s creamy lip color is available in a collection of full-spectrum shades from jet black to bright white.

BENEFITS
Hypercolor pigments and an opaque, creamy clay base deliver one-stroke intensity. Sumptuous honey nectar leaves a creamy finish. Maybelline’s Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds is available in a range of pigment-loaded shades from deep plums and electric blues to vibrant reds and natural nudes. Dermatologist tested. Allergy tested.

HOW TO USE/APPLY
Step 1. Apply lipstick in the center of your upper lip and follow the contours of your mouth. Step 2. Glide the lipstick across the entire bottom lip.

INGREDIENTS:
ISONONYL ISONONANOATE ● OCTYLDODECANOL ● OLEYL ERUCATE ● SILICA ● CERA ALBA / BEESWAX ● PHENYL TRIMETHICONE ● SYNTHETIC WAX ● SESAMUM INDICUM SEED OIL / SESAME SEED OIL ● PEG-45/DODECYL GLYCOL COPOLYMER ● PARAFFIN ● CERA MICROCRISTALLINA / MICROCRYSTALLINE WAX ● KAOLIN ● DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE ● DIMETHICONE ● TOCOPHERYL ACETATE ● PENTAERYTHRITYL TETRA-DI-T-BUTYL HYDROXYHYDROCINNAMATE ● ALUMINA ● ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE ● BENZYL ALCOHOL ● MEL / HONEY ● CALCIUM ALUMINUM BOROSILICATE ● SYNTHETIC FLUORPHLOGOPITE ● CALCIUM SODIUM BOROSILICATE ● POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE ● TOCOPHEROL ● HYDROGENATED PALM GLYCERIDES CITRATE ● ACRYLATES COPOLYMER ● TIN OXIDE ● PARFUM / FRAGRANCE ● [+/- MAY CONTAIN MICA ● CI 77891 / TITANIUM DIOXIDE ● CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 / IRON OXIDES ● CI 45410 / RED 28 LAKE ● CI 45380 / RED 22 LAKE ● CI 15850 / RED 7 ● CI 15985 / YELLOW 6 LAKE ● CI 19140 / YELLOW 5 LAKE ● CI 42090 / BLUE 1 LAKE ● CI 75470 / CARMINE ● ] F.I.L. D166274/8

The packaging is pretty much the same as the other Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks, but the cap is blue in color. The color really fits the name "Loaded Bolds" because it's very pigmented. All the shades in this line are and you can get unusual colors too like white and blue!

The reason why I love this lippie so much is that the color is a deep red wine shade!

Look at that beautiful swatch! It's solid red with blue undertones!

It gives a sexy vibe and it's the perfect late night date lipstick.

What do you think of the Maybelline The Loaded Bolds in Midnight Date?

Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bold Lipstick in Pitch Black

Hello loves!

It's a gloomy, rainy Wednesday today. Let me pair it off with a dark swatch post. ;)

Check out this one from Maybelline...

Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bold Lipstick in Pitch Black
It's PhP 299.00

Pitch Black is what it's name says, it's a solid black color! This range has the classic bold red, nude, pink, and purple hues; but it also has other unique shades like a solid white one and even a blue one. You can mix them up together to create a new lippie color!

There are twenty shades available as seen on the website.

Here's the product description from the website:

WHAT IT IS
Color Sensational® Loaded Bolds Lipstick. Maybelline’s creamy lip color is available in a collection of full-spectrum shades from jet black to bright white.

D166274/8

I find darker shades make my skin look radiant so mixing this up with my other favorite bold, matte lipsticks would be a great idea. Maybe if I'm a bit braver, I can wear it alone! Haha!

Packaging looks a lot like the regular Color Sensational lipsticks, but the cap is in a different color—blue. The design is pretty simple. It's not my favorite look... but hey, I don't expect to get anything fancy when you buy something so affordable.

Here's the bullet.

Here's a swatch on hand...

...and here's how it looks like on my lips.

It has a creamy consistency that makes application easier and also helps blend the colors better if you plan on mixing it up. After a while, I notice it somehow becomes a bit more matte, which is a quality I really like because I tend to mix it with my mattes.

And that's all for this post. I have another lipstick from this range that I completely fell in-love with. I hope you stay tuned for that!

DAWN

May-June (2017) Haul

Hey dolls!

I've been having troubles deciding on my next steps in life. Haha! I am still nowhere near completing my thesis for grad school and I dunno if I should start a business or find a higher paying job. LOL

One thing is certain, I still like buying beautiful things. And that is why I need to decide ASAP! #PressureMuch

Anyway, here are the latest products I added to my beauty and also art and home supplies:

First off, my package from Althea last month:
Healthy Vinegar Skin Toner in Wine - PhP 480.00

It's in wine!!! Haha! Well, I have read that apple cider vinegar is good for the skin so even though this is not exactly the same thing, might as well give it a try. Haha!

Nightingale Eraser Toner Daily Derma Astringent in Fresh Peach - PhP 770.00

I actually just browsed Althea in search of a new toner so that I can just join in with my officemates in their order so that we don't have to pay individual shipping fees. I ended up buying two toners and other things. LOL

4D Pore and Balance Solution Foam Cleanser - PhP 240.00

It's My Cushion Case in Pink - PhP 235.00

I've been intrigued with this since I saw it some months ago. I have some extra foundations and skin care lying around that I want to finish and I thought that I can create a personally mixed cushion.

Tony Moly Panda's Dream Eye Patch - PhP 50.00

Because eye patches are LOVE!

During the start of the month, I shared a press release from Daiso showing some of their new items. The post also got me interested to check them out again and I bought some stuff!

Markers and Drawing Ink - PhP 88.00 each

A drawing ink that's affordable at that size! Woot! Gonna share some of my works using that soon. ;)

Mini Dustpan and broom
Kitchen Sponge for bottles (I use this for my big thermos)
PhP 88.00 each

Laundry Bag and Baby Wipes
Handy for traveling!

Cooling Mat for pets
PhP 88.00

My pet shih tzu loves using this!

Yoga Mat - Php 88.00
It's not as thick as I want it to be but I actually have an older one (that's as thin as this one) that I place underneath this.

 Dishwashing liquid - PhP 88.00

I also bought other items like a hand bag with red stripes design, some cake and chocolate decorating tools, and an ice cream scoop!

Human Nature Natural Feminine Wash in Chamomile Cool
I forgot the price. Haha! My friend Helen recommended this. I have yet to use it as I'm finishing the one I currently have.

It's also my first time visiting a Mumuso store! I went to their Fishermall branch. These are the items I brought home...

Banana Milk Beautiful Skin Shower Gel - PhP149.00
The smell is soooooo gooooood! I even use this as hand soap so I can smell it often. Haha

Spring Hydrating Spray - PhP 88.00

I like facial mist and I just got curious about this one because it is unscented. I actually like fragrant once but I have an officemate who doesn't like floral scented ones so just for the office, I have an unscented one.

Not in the photos are a square handle comb and cotton pads, both PhP 88.00

And finally, I took advantage of BeautyMNL's mid year sale. Wooot!

PRO Studio Beauty Exclusive 10-Piece Expert Class Oval and Linear Brush Set
PhP 999.00 from PhP 2,800.00

I've always wanted a set. I like the finish of my makeup when I have this brush. I alternate it with my beauty blender.

Maybelline Fashion Brow Mascara
PhP 174.00 from PhP 249.00

My brows badly need this.

#InWithTheBold Bundle 1:
1 Listerine Healthy White (500ml) + 2 Maybelline Loaded Bolds (Pitch Black & MidnightDate) - PhP 599.00 from PhP 823.00

I AM IN LOVE WITH MIDNIGHT DATE! Stay tuned for the swatch post!

And that's all the products I bought! Haha! Which ones are you most excited about for a review? Let me know!

Review : Maybelline Illegal Length Fiber Extensions Mascara in Blackest Black

Hey lovelies!

It's time for a mascara review!
For today's review, I'll share my thoughts on the...

Maybelline Illegal Length Fiber Extensions Mascara in Blackest Black

I don't think it's available at the Maybelline stores in the Philippines, but the price is around $8 to 9.00.

I've been seeing some good reviews on this product and I'm looking for a mascara that not only lengthens and volumizes, but also is easy to remove. I like wearing mascaras whenever I go out, but most of the good ones I've tried are so hard to remove! Since it says it's a washable mascara, maybe this is the product that I've been looking for!

Anyway, before I continue with the review, here's the product description from the packaging:

Info from the website:

Break every law of lengthening! The Fiber-Fix Brush and Sealing Formula work together to deliver dramatically longer lashes.

Illegal Length® Fiber Extensions Washable Mascara delivers longer-looking lashes for dramatic eye looks.

Maybelline's first mascara with 4mm of measurable fiber extensions delivers dramatically longer lashes. The Sealing Formula visibly stretches and securely seals fibers to lashes without breaking or flaking. The Fiber-Fix Brush has six different contact points with each lash for optimal fiber placement.
Ophthalmologist tested.
Suitable for contact lens wearers.

How to Use:

Step 1. Extend lashes upwards with the Fiber-Fix brush from the root to tip of lashes.
Step 2. Only a few strokes are necessary.
Step 3. Do not let mascara dry in between coats.
Step 4. Easily remove mascara with Maybelline Expert Eyes® 100% Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover.

The package design is just okay. It's not striking but it's not bad. I like the shape and the color because it's easy to spot when looking at my makeup collection. However, I'm not a fan of the fonts nor the hot pink shade. I think it's my least favorite design among the Maybelline Mascaras I've used.

I do like the applicator. It is long enough that the wand nor my hand doesn't touch my nose bridge when I apply the mascara. The length of the bristles are long enough to coat my lashes well but are spread apart so that my lashes do not clump together.

It's really easy to use on both top and bottom lashes.

The product is really black and I like the consistency. It's a bit creamy, which I prefer compared to the watery ones.

Now, for its performance on my lashes. See the photos below.

Bare eyes

Lashes when curled

With one coat

With two coats

As you can see, the fiber extensions really did something to make my lashes longer and it looks like it's really part of the lashes. The product didn't clump my lashes and even with two coats, my lashes don't look like they're becoming those "spider" lash effect (that is if you want a more natural look). It still looks "natural" but more defined, longer, and a bit volumized. I would like it to have more volume but I think it's still pretty good, especially since I plan on using it when I go to the office, which is every weekday.

And when I apply this, it dries quickly on my lashes so I don't have to wait a long time before I can blink.

It's also easy to remove. I just use my physiogel cleanser and a cotton pad and I just massage my lashes and the product completely comes off! And even though it's easy to remove, it doesn't give me panda eyes, meaning it doesn't smudge. Even when I sweat, I don't see it transfer to my skin.

To summarize:

What I LIKE:

- Lengthens
- Sort of volumizes
- Affordable
- Easy to use applicator
- Doesn't clump my lashes
- Dries easily when applied
- Easy to remove
- Doesn't easily smudge
- Natural finish

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Not locally available
- The packaging is just okay

I really like this mascara. I like how effective it is, but still is budget-friendly. I've been a fan of Maybelline mascaras since I started playing with makeup and this one is added to the list of mascaras that I like from the brand! I recommend this, especially to those who are new to makeup or just looking for a mascara to define and lengthen their lashes.

And that's my review!

Cheers,
DAWN
