NOTD: Girl on Fire

Hello loves!

A few days ago, I saw one post from Caronia Philippines' Facebook account that shows a nail art challenge. This contest has been on-going for months now as a celebration of the brand's 50th anniversary in the beauty industry.

The nail art challenge is open to everyone who uses the classic Caronia Nail Polishes. The rules are easy to follow too. Caronia just uploads a nail art design each week and you recreate it. They even recommended the shades used in the design, but it's okay to not use the particular shade and even mix your own creative twists in the design as long as it's still related to the week's theme. You can only use all Caronia products though, which is just fair since it is their contest. They announce the winner of that particular week's challenge after a few days and they also have a new design again for others to join and get a chance to win. I think they do it weekly and there have been a handful or more winners already.

So when I saw this design—Girl on Fire, I thought it was easy enough for me to copy. The other designs were just too hard! Haha! Anyway, I think that this week's design is so feisty too that I was just attracted to it. Good thing I have enough Caronia nail polishes to join the contest.

So here's my entry...

NOTD: Peachy Cutie

Hey dolls!

I haven't been doing NOTDs for a while and that's because I haven't painted my nails for a long time... or I just once in a while then it will take months before I apply again. I just wanted to rest my nails from all the painting I've done before.

But for now, I want my nails to look prettier so I looked at my newer nail polishes to see what would be nice to put on. As I was browsing the shades included in Caronia's 50th Anniversary sets, I remembered that the new color of the year is a peach shade so I looked for the shade closest to the Pantone's color of the year 2019—Living Coral.
Eventually, I ended up with this...

Caronia Celebrates its 50th Year

Hi loves!

Do you remember what nail polishes you first purchased when you started your journey with beauty products, particularly on nail care? I remembered mine and it was during high school. One of the bottles I purchased was a cute pink shade from Caronia. I remember I was fixed on buying one from this brand because it was so affordable and that among the brands available , it offered the most number of shades.

I feel like Caronia has played a role in the lives of most Filipino beauty enthusiasts when it comes to prettifying in general, discovering our own style, and showing our personality when it comes to our physical appearances. Personally, I think I've owned more Caronia nail polishes compared to other brands of nail colors. Until now I have some in my collection. Oh! Fun fact, it's named after a luxury ship!

So if you're just like me who have/had Caronia as part of their beauty journey, then Caronia invites us to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a new set of collection.

NOTD : White Poppies on Ultra Violet

Hey everyone!

So while I was thinking of what the color of nail polish I should use for the new year, I thought, why not Ultra Violet? And so I went to my nail polish collection and searched for the polish that's close to the color of the year, and lucky for me, I do have one!

I ended with this nail design!

NOTD: Pink Night Sky

Hey dearies!

Sharing my NOTD!

I was in the mood for a colorful and sparkly one so I got created this using five nail polishes (didn't include my base coat and top coat).

Skin Food Nail Vita in PK205
Miniso Nail Polish
Maybelline Color Show in Crazy Berry
CODE Professional in G603
The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Sequins Gold

Creating this look is easy. I arranged the nail polishes according to how I used them. So I used the first one as a base. Then, after it dries, I got an old makeup sponge and applied the second and third polishes next to each other to create a gradient effect and stamped it on each nail. I topped the darkest shade with the fourth polish and when everything dries, I topped the whole nail with the last polish.

Each nail is like a pink galaxy on the tip of your finger!

It's pretty easy to do but I like that it doesn't look simple. I like the burst of colors and glitter.

So what do you think of this NOTD?

NOTD: Abstract Pastels

Hey guys!

Whenever I get bored, I just scroll down my Facebook timeline and see if there's something interesting to read or watch. I saw this nail tutorial (I'm sorry but I can't remember from who or which page that was from) and the look was pretty much like an action painting. My nail art skills aren't as good though and my nail art tools are limited so I can only come up with this:

It's a mix of purples and blues with glitters, of course!

These are the products I used:

CODE Professional in G603
Maybelline Color Show in
Jenna Hipp (shade to follow)
ORLY Top2Bottom Basecoat + Top Coat
ORLY French Manicure
And some gold chunky glitters :)

It's pretty easy to do. I just fill the nails with my chosen base, preferrably a light colored one and then add the colors. I tap the brush first on a tissue so that it doesn't carry too much polish so that it creates a sort of brush stroke with extra streaks. Play with the colors! Go for light and then dark ones. I added some glitters for extra glam and accents.

NOTD : Gold on Nude on Nude

Hey guys!

I gave my nails a break from nail polish for a month. Now that enough time has passed, it's time to put some color back! I didn't settle for just a plain look. I used three colors and created a very easy, yet classy design.

TADAAAA!

The colors are not vibrant. In fact, the two shades are neutrals! However, I added a striking metallic gold color to top it off.

These are the products I used for the look.
I used the ORLY Top Bottom Basecoat + Topcoat, ArtDeco Ceramic Nail Lacquer in Ruby Cream, Girl Stuff Nail Lacquer in Grace, and The New Black Nail Polish.

After I applied the basecoat, I coated my nails with the GirlStuff Nail Lacquer and then applied ArtDeco's Ruby Cream on the left side—just covering around 40% of my nails. Finally, I added a small chunky line of gold between the two shades.

So what do you think of this NOTD?

Cheers.

NOTD: Phoenix eggs

Hello loves!

It's NOTD time! Haha!

The nails I'm sporting today is how I envision how phoenix eggs would look like. Fiery with a touch of sparkly magic! Haha!

I used these two glittery polishes to get the effect.

Girl Stuff Nail Polish in Sparkling Maroon
The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Sequins Gold
ORLY TOP2BOTTOM Basecoat + Topcoat

I used Sparkling Maroon first then applied Sequins Gold on top. I used the Orly polish for my base and top coat.

I am really loving Sequins Gold polish because it can make my nails look more exciting with the burst of glitters. The contrast of the black and gold gives an elegant tone to it as well.

NOTD: ARTDECO Ceramic Nail Lacquer in 93 Ruby Cream

Hey guys!

Just sharing a short NOTD post!

I'm currently using a nail polish I bought a few weeks ago because it was on sale...

It's the  ARTDECO Ceramic Nail Lacquer in 93 Ruby Cream.

It's a neutral shade and it was on sale for only PhP 130.00 from its original price of Php 325.00. Considering how good the deal was and that it has a high probability that it would look good on my nails, I bought it without hesitation! Haha!

With only two coats, I get a pretty good solid color. It actually has a good color payoff with one coat alone but just to keep every nail even, I applied two.

It's actually a bit darker than I first imagined but it looks very sophisticated and I think it suits the cool and cloudy weather this -ber months.

So what do you think of this NOTD?

NOTD : Berries and Sequins

Hey guys!

I've been getting a lot of compliments about my NOTD. I've been wearing it for a few days already...

And it's pretty easy to do. I just used a base coat and these three nail polishes...

It's just layering. I used the violet shade from Maybelline as base and then added the glittery polishes. First was the one from CODE and then the gold ones from The Body Shop. The glittery ones were applied on only the 2/3s of each nail.

The dark violet shade gives that serious vibe but the sparkly glitters just adds the glam! This look is very eye-catching because like I've mentioned, I've gotten compliments even though I didn't intentionally show my hands so that my nails can be seen. :P

I just love glitter polishes... I just don't like removing them. Haha!

And that's all for this NOTD post!

NOTD : Gold Sequins

Hello dearies!

Check out my simple NOTD with a touch of glitter glam!

It looks better when you see it up close while moving. You get to see each glitter shine!

The star of the NOTD is actually a gift from one of my closest blogger friends, Helen of Lucky Citrine. It has been more than a year since we saw each other so we planned to have dinner along with Liz so we could catch up. She brought along two products for me as gifts and I absolutely love them! One is the The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Sequins Gold, which I am wearing in this NOTD, and the Nature Republic Nail Remover.

For the base of this NOTD, I used the Holika Holika Magic Pop Nail Dazzling in Glam Muse.
I only used two coats, but if I want a more solid gold finish, I have to add one or two coats more.

I thought of using a gold base so that it will compliment the gold glitters but I think that The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Sequins Gold would look amazing in dark nail polish like black or deep purple.

So what do you guys think?

NOTD: Girl Stuff Nail Lacquer in Machiatto

Hey loves!

I found a new favorite nude nail polish from Girl Stuff! Check this out:

Super cute, right?

I just passed by Girl Stuff's stall when I bought some stuff at SM San Lazaro. I saw that they were on sale and I was able to get this polish for only PhP 100.00.

I wanted a nude nail polish so the sales assistant recommended this, Machiatto, along with the shade, Grace.

As you can see at the back of the bottle, you'll see that the polish is free from certain chemicals. During the first time I learned about this brand, I was briefed about it. Here's what I learned:

"Girlstuff is a brand of nail polish that doesn't have any harmful chemicals. It's so safe that kids and pregnant women can use it! These wouldn't turn your nails yellowish either!"

You can read more in my post about the brand and some of its products here.

Going back to the shade Machiatto, it's the pinkish nude color that I also like for my lipsticks. It compliments my skin pretty well!

It even looks good with my painting as the background! Haha! :P

It's the polish I wear when I travel because it looks good with any clothing. It's a go-to color when you just want clean and pretty nails.

What do you think of the Girl Stuff Nail Lacquer in Machiatto?
What's your favorite nude nail color?

NOTD: Jenna and the Giant Peach

Hello dearies!

Sharing a quick NOTD post for today's post!

Still a peach fan until now! Hihihi. :)

I used a Jenna Hip Nail Polish that was given by a friend.
The shade is Jenna and the Giant Peach. I guess the name was inspired from James and the Giant Peach movie that I used to watch growing up. The shade does look like the giant peach that the characters were riding.

It's a bright peach shade. I found this color too light that it got me worried it wouldn't look good on my nails, but I think it looks alright...

I actually didn't know the brand before my friend gave it to me. But the polish is pretty easy to work with. Pigmentation is good and the brush isn't too thick or thin so it holds enough polish to give a nice coat on each nail.

And that's it for this NOTD post. What do you think?
