December (2017) Haul — Yay for Christmas Shopping!

Hey everyone!

The holidays might be over but I'm still enjoying some of the things that I got from the events that happened last month. One of the things that definitely made me extra giddy last Christmas is the huge sales from different shop! Haha! I'm glad that we had extra money for spending so I was able to get some stuff for me to use. Let me share what items I was able to get so you know what to  expect on my future blog product reviews...

Marks and Spencer Shea Butter Cream Bath - PhP 350.00

Marks and Spencer Floral Collection Silky Talcum Powder in Rose - PhP 295.00

The prices I posted are their regular prices but I got these at 20% off. They had a promo which lasted for only three days on all regular priced items. The sale happened from December 25-27, 2017.

Bath Junkies: Return To Innocence

Good evening bellas!

I recently bought my very first Bath Junkies product from BeautyMNL. I've been using this product for about 2 weeks now and here are my thoughts on it.

Before I go on about their product, here's a little information on the brand as described in BeautyMNL.

Bath Junkies is the first local bath and body brand to compete globally! Their line of soaps, scrubs, bath gels, colognes, cleansers, toners, sanitizers, and sunscreens contain both mood-lifting essential oils and skin-nourishing actives. And you won’t find toxic ingredients here—Bath Junkies is a natural brand. The best part? Each of its products are bundled up in pretty, pretty packaging with a bohemian beach vibe.

Packaging:

I can't really agree with the Bohemian vibe description since the first time I saw the product online I immediately remembered babies. To me, the design of the labels was more an appeal to my more innocent days and memories.

The pump bottle design is also good however, since this company claims to be an all-natural brand, you'd think they'd proudly announce the lack of chemicals in their products by listing them down and giving more details on their product. Nowadays, a lot of people have different things that they are allergic to and it'd be risky for them to just go ahead and believe a certain brands' claim of being organic. I think they should provide the list of their ingredients so consumers can be guided.

Product:

The facial wash is a clear transparent light amber colored fluid. Not too viscous, and non-sticky. It lathers quickly but does not lather too much. It's non-drying on the face nor is it itchy after use. The product smells like peppermint which is reminiscent of candy canes (Christmas feels). The peppermint adds a cooling sensation when the product is being applied/rubbed on your face and during rinse.

I wouldn't really recommend this for individuals with sensitive skin. As I said earlier, there is a lack in disclosure of the ingredients so there's a fair warning that it may contain some of the chemicals or organic materials that you are allergic. Also, as convention would state, gentle, hypoallergenic washes usually do not have any smell and are very bland looking to minimize adding more chemicals to these products.

Skin Changes during use:

So far, I haven't seen any break outs from using this product. My dermatitis also did not flare up. The cooling effect of the product leaves a feeling of an uplifted and refreshed face though I don't really see it when I look in the mirror.

Price and Availability:

It's a great purchase though one I wouldn't do again. It's Php 220 pesos for a 114 ml bottle which for me is a little expensive. For now the product is only available online through BeautyMNL and their facebook page. I have not found any other sites though but if you know any, then please don't hesitate to share with me and others in the comments.

Well those are my thoughts on this product. I want our local products to gain a larger attention so I hope I have helped in their improvement.

Cheers,
LIZ

Mini Haul: Liz's BeautyMNL Skincare Haul

Good evening ladies,

Today, my very first BeautyMNL orders came and I am super excited to have received them!

We were fortunate enough to be handpicked to test out the BeautyMNL site and it couldn't have come at a better time since it has been a while since I did any actual shopping. After all, retail therapy is always one of the best solutions for those occasional blues.

I'm actually quite happy about their delivery. I ordered my items during the weekend and since they don't deliver during the holidays, I received my items today. But no complaints since they delivered it first thing in the morning and I got the items in good condition. Dawn had previously ordered from BeautyMNL as well, and she was able to receive her package in less than 24 hours.

I kind of splurged on skin care products since I've kind of neglected my skin in the past few months and now it's taking revenge on me (hello sebaceous dermatitis!). A lot of them were on sale and I was just fortunate to catch some of them before they were sold out! So here are some of the items I bought.

Since I've recently started liking facial oils, I thought I'd try this one out. Since my skin is at a relatively bad condition, it's the best time to test it's effectiveness, don't you agree?

White Ginger Hydrating Hand Wash from Nippon Esthetic Philippines

A hand wash maybe a little odd of a purchase but in my line of work where hand washing is done as frequent as possible, you'd crave for a great smelling, non-drying one.

I really thought this would be bigger. Anyway, I still like it since it's mid-way into being full-sized and travel size so it's easy to bring around with me. I hope this is a really good find as well since this brand is proudly Pinoy.

I just love Carmex. I have their tub type balm but I find it too unhygienic to take around with me hence this purchase.

Those are my purchases but BeautyMNL was kind enough to include freebies such as the TRESemme shampoo and conditioner samplers and this St. Ives Facial Scrub. It's travel size so it's just a perfect freebie for me.

They still have a ton of stuff on sale and a gamut of brands for you to sample and start to love! And not only that, they also have a monthly #selfieMNL contest which you can join! You can get a chance to win a Printster polaroid of your pretty face and a Php 200.00 BeautyMNL GC! Pretty exciting don't you think? To get the full details visit their #selfieMNL page and start sending your beautiful selfies!

Cheers,
LIZ

Bath Junkies Strawberry Samba Body Scrub

Hello dears!

I love baths. Other than getting your skin clean, you get to smell great too! My favorite scents are florals and sweet stuff like Vanilla, and it gives me great pleasure when these scents are present in my bath products. One of the products that I enjoyed using for its scent is the...

Bath Junkies Strawberry Samba Body Scrub
This product was included in a set when I bought BeatyMNL's TGIF kit. The whole kit is PhP 999.00 but this 120g tub of Body Scrub is PhP 220.00.

CLAIM TO FAME: A natural body scrub for healthy, supple skin

FAST FACTS: Formulated with berry antioxidants to fight the signs of aging; gently cleanses, exfoliates, and sloughs away dry, rough patches and dead skin cells; blended with premium-grade active ingredients to brighten, soften, and smoothen

PERFECT FOR: Buffing away the signs of skin-aging

Pinoy pride alert: Bath Junkies is the first local bath and body brand to compete globally!

As seen on the labels of the product, this scrub smells like a sweet strawberry milkshake! Yummmy! The scent is very, very addicting.

The product is very creamy with apricot seeds to help exfoliate the skin.

I use the Bath Junkies Strawberry Samba Body Scrub twice to thrice a week. I use this more often compare to the previous ones I've used because this is gentler. After I use this, I feel like my skin is smoother and it never made me feel dry. The best part is that the scent lingers for a few more minutes after use. :)

As mentioned, the apricot seeds are pretty gentle so I would recommend a grittier scrub if you also deal with in-grown hair like me, which I get from waxing.

So I guess that's all I can say about the product. It's a gentle scrub with an awesome fragrance. I recommend you check this out to see for yourself. :)

Cheers,
DAWN

My First BeatyMNL Purchase

Hello guys!

I've been feeling down lately. I'm currently lost when it comes to my thesis and it's really stressing me out. Anyway, just so I can feel a little better, I decided to take advantage of BeautyMNL's Big Brand Sale and bought some items. :)

It was the last day of the sale and BeautyMNL has some items that I really wanted to try. What's even better is that it was on sale. I just thought that if I were to splurge, at least I got a good deal out of them.

And so, I bought some awesome stuff, which I will be sharing with you. Almost everything here was on sale. Yay! And what's even more awesome is that the package arrived in less than 24 hours! I ordered yesterday (Sunday) and paid via paypal and the package arrived today (Monday). Everything was in good condition and neatly wrapped. I'm very impressed with BeautyMNL's service.

It was even in a box and there were enough fillers inside so the products wouldn't get damaged. The box actually arrived covered with shrink wrap and tape so that nothing gets misplaced from it.

Anyway, let's proceed to the fun stuff. Here are the products I bought...

First on the list is a special kit created by BeautyMNL! It's the Thank God It's Friday (TGIF) Kit. The canvas bag consists of different skincare products that I would absolutely love to try! I got this for PhP 699.00 only because it was discounted. Its original price was PhP 999.00.

Inside the kit are the following:

  • Be Organic Bath & Body Argan Oil Shampoo, a frizz-fighting shampoo made with “liquid gold.” Read more.
  • Kala Milk Soap Honey & Oats Milk Soap, a gentle exfoliating soap bar.Read more.

If you have color-treated hair, then a sulfate free shampoo can help retain the color. The soap on the other hand is something that I have used before and I became an instant fan. :D

  • Leaders InSolution Double Effect AC Free, a bestselling Korean face maskRead more.
Bath Junkies Strawberry Samba Body Scrub, a body buffer with berry antioxidants. Read more.

I've only tried a few from Leaders InSolution so I'm curious as to how well this will work on my face. I liked some of the masks I've tried from them. The Bath Junkies Body Scrub, on the other hand, smells super fantastic!

  • Made by David Organics Hand Sanitizer Trio, three bottles of scented antibacterial spray. Read more.

It's always a must for me to carry a bottle of sanitizer and I'm excited to use all three because I just love how them smell! :D

Let's proceed to the makeup products next...
Got this for PhP 269.00. Original price is PhP 299.00.

What can I say? I just love the color Peach!

The next three products came from the same brand. I've only tried one product from them and I wanted to try more. So I grabbed the opportunity to get them while on sale.

Pink Sugar Sweet Cheeks HD Cheek Color in Sin City and Concrete Jungle
Got them for only PhP 374.00 each. Original Price was PhP 499.00.

I'm on a look-out for awesome highlighters! I hope these will work well.

Got this for PhP 349.00. It wasn't on sale. :P

I'm currently loving dark lipsticks so I just had to get one and chose this deep plum shade. :D

Got it for PhP 133.00 from PhP 148.00.

Got this for PhP 685.00 from PhP 779.00.

Vitamin C on my skin really brightens it and just works wonders on it. I hope it works as well as Ciracle's.

And those are the items included in my mini haul. I've swatched and tried out some of them and I'm really satisfied. I can't wait to share my reviews with all of you.

I'm also very satisfied with BeautyMNL's fast service and awesome deals. I'm sure to buy again soon! :D

If you're interested to get deals such as these, make sure you subscribe to BeautyMNL's mailing list and always check out their online magazine for beauty updates and tips!
