I'm currently taking a break from matte liquid lipsticks and currently enjoying creamier and shinier lippies. I just find that it looks more fun and exciting compared to the classier vibe that matte gives off.

I still love bold shades though so I have been reaching to this product a lot when I'm in a mood for a striking lip color...

Pre-departure Haul: 1st Shopping Trip

I've recently been accepted in a university abroad to study a masters degree and it has been such a busy, frustrating, exciting, and nerve-wracking endeavor. With just a few weeks 'till my departure - hoping that everything else goes well - I've started putting together the stuffs I need to bring.

 

So here is my initial haul:

I heard make-up products are quite expensive states-side, so I decided to stuck up on the color correction/concealer I've been using a lot lately: Happy Skin's EYE NEED A MIRACLE.

 

 

Dawn introduced me to this correction tube and it's been my trusty friend ever since.

 

 

I haven't really tried the concealer since the correction tube has served me so well. But since I am not sure of how my skin will transform once I'm there, better be ready.

 

Dawn and I are happy to promote any locally made product we discover that are of a competitive quality. These are just a few of those that we believe are really good. Read our reviews of the correction and concealer if you haven't yet. I hope I get to promote this well to any friend I make there.

 

 

ZARA

 

Zara's July sale is almost ending and I was so happy that I acquired this pretty find in my size! Though it is more appropriate to buy winter clothes there, my choices will be a little limited due to budgetary constrictions, plus Zara has some of the best designs when it comes to coats and jackets.

 

 

 

Here is the coat we found. The textile design is embroidered - not sure how to say burda appropriately in English as I don't think knitted is appropriate as well. GD (G-Dragon - Bigbang) was the reason why we noticed this piece.

Something about the color and texture just reminded us of this look from one of GD's Chanel show attendance. And it fitted quite well too. So yey!

 

The coat originally cost Php 4,595 and I got it for Php 1,795. What a great deal! Be sure to take advantage of the remaining weeks of Zara's July sale too! 

 

JUST G

 

Just G has some of the cutest clothes. However, I kind of feel like their sizing are only appropriate for teenagers or really petite women. Which is great, but if you're a regular petite woman, or a tall girl, or of average height; Just G's sizes might not fit you well (unless you're ok with mid-riffed/hanging shirts).

 

 

Anyway, I was on the hunt for long sleeved shirts and this weird and cute piece caught my eye. I was so taken by it that even though it was a bit of a hanging shirt, I bought it. My compromise to make it school appropriate? High waist pants/skirts/shorts!

 

It costs Php 799. Some might argue that it's a bit pricey for such a simple piece, but I kind of felt it was ok since the fabric was thicker than all the other long sleeved shirts we took a look at of the same price range.

FOTD : Christmas Red

Hello loves!

Gonna share the makeup I wore during Christmas day.

It's not fancy or glamorous. It's actually one of the usual looks I wore, but I used products that are either new or haven't shared in the blog before.

I wore a vibrant, matte red lippie paired with nude eyeshadows and a bold winged liner. I added some shimmery neutral colors to add some glow on my face.

You might be wondering why you're seeing too many foundations there. I actually mix the Lancome and TCFS to get the right shade (the Lancome one is too dark and I'm trying to finish it), while the Estee Lauder has the best coverage among my foundations, which I use around my jaw area where I most of my acne scars are at. I'm lazy to put concealer on each scar so I just spread the foundation there. Haha! :P

Above photo shows the products I used for my eyes and brows. I used my new Celeteque DermoCosmetics Eyeshadow Palette here and the finish is pretty good. A closeup of my eyes will be shown shortly. ;)

And to add colors for my cheeks and lips, I used the products above. The star of the look is my Ellana Cosmetics Lip in Luxe in Love is True! This is my current go-to matte red lipstick. :D

So here's a closeup of the EOTD:

Neutral shades and a bold winged eyeliner to compliment the bold and vibrant red shade of my lips.

Here's how I looked a few seconds after i finished my makeup. 

 Most of the items I used are matte—my lipstick and eyeshadows. I even add powder on my face to keep it matte. I added some highlighter to add a youthful glow as you can see on the photos!

Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Corrector

Good evening ladies,

It has been a while since I bought a concealer. The one currently inhabiting my make-up stash is Benefit Erase Paste and for a while now, I find that it no longer serves as a good concealer for me as I start noticing difference in color tone. So I asked Dawn to help me out.

Last year, Dawn gave a review on Happy Skin's Eye Need A Miracle Concealer, but she recommended I try the corrector instead. So here is my experience with the corrector.

There is only one shade for this here and that is 01 Salmon.

This is near peach in color as compared to the concealer which is more yellow in color.

The consistency is not very creamy but is easy to blend. It has a good coverage so I usually need only a half pea sized amount to cover my whole under eye area.

Here is my eye before application.

Here it is after. It has evened out the color of my under eye. Since it's nearer to my tone, it has covered the dark circles better than my long time concealer.

And since it has done quite a good job with my dark circles, I started trying it out with my pimple marks and spots of redness around my cheeks

Here is my cheek without.

Here it is with. Sorry if the angle is different, but it has decreased the discoloration around my cheeks and has hidden much of the specks of redness I have around this area.

I also noticed that this product has fine sparkly finish which I think helps in lessening dullness. Probably why I feel like my face looks like it's glowing.

I might start looking into more products from Happy Skin. I am super satisfied with the coverage offered by this product that I started ignoring my old concealer. It's also a plus point that it's in a tube and is travel-friendly (I just love everything travel friendly).

FOTD : A Happy 26 Year Old Me!

Hey loves

It's my birthday! YAYYYY!!!

I'll be celebrating with loved ones in a couple of hours so the moment I finished doing my makeup, I grabbed my cam and took pictures so I can share with you the look I have right now. :P

So this is what I currently look like.

I chose some of my favorite makeup for today. Here they are...

I'll update the post with the names of every product when I get home later.

As for the eyes, I made a simple nude-mauve combination.

And of course, my favorite winged eyeliner look is there!

 I also used my favorite lipstick, MAC Ruby Woo. My mom always tell us to wear red on our birthdays because it's a celebration. I dunno what culture that's from... is it Chinese or Filipino? Anyway, it's good that my lippie looks awesome with my blouse!

  

 So that's all for now. Gonna go spend the day with the friends and family! Wooot! Maybe I'll blog about my birthday celebrations in a few days. :)

FOTD: Merlot

Hey guys!

Sharing another FOTD with you all. :D

I was in a mood to go a little dark for the day but still something I can wear to work. I ended up using shades that are close to the color of red wine.

That's why I named this look "Merlot" and I also used an eyeshadow shade named Merlot in my LORAC Mega Pro Palette. :P

The key parts of this makeup look are the eyes and lips. I concentrated the wine colors on those parts.

For the eyes, I mixed warm pinks, wine red, and dark brown.

A nice winged liner can add some sexiness to the already sexy color.

I also added a light pink shade under the lower lash line to contrast the dark shadows and liner.

A beautiful deep lippie is the star of this look. I just love this eye-catching shade from Avon although it has a tendency to bleed.

Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Concealer

The second semester of my graduate school studies started this January so I will be expecting numerous sleepless nights again. Hello dark under-eyes!!! (LOL) Thus, I will be needing help from good under-eye concealers to help my eyes look bright and awake. No one wants to look like a zombie! 

What I'm currently using is...

Happy Skin Eye Need A Miracle Concealer

The shade I bought is Butter. I think this only comes in one shade.

There is another product, the Eye Need a Miracle Corrector that is more peachy in tone and as the name states, it corrects the dark coloration of your under-eyes and helps in evening them to your complexion. Maybe if you have very dark eye circles, you can use them before the concealer? I would have to check their counters and try that first though.

So let's go with the design first...

Love the Happy Skin packaging! It's simple and cute filled with basic colors and shapes. 

Anyway, here are the important details labeled on the packaging:

The product is housed in a tube. You only squeeze it and you easily get the product out. I think this kind of concealer is very hygienic compared to those in pots, palettes, and pen types because you don't have to dip your fingers and brushes in the containers or on the product itself.

The product is a very warm shade. It's actually quite light but it does say that it is self adjusting. To me, it does a good job blending on my skin but I am not sure how well it would work with people who have darker skin.

The consistency is thick but not so creamy compared to some of the under-eye concealers I've tried before. But blending is still easy so no worries.

The coverage is quite good. It's medium and you can build the coverage up by applying more.

It feels light on skin which I really appreciate. I hate too thick and creamy concealers, especially on the eye area.

Check out the photo above to see how well it covered my under-eyes.

It concealed the dark areas and it also brightened them. Yay!
And what's even better is that it doesn't crease on the lines around my eyes and it stays all day on me but I do use primers and top it off with powder which can lengthen the staying power of this product. :) 

Overall, I really like this concealer! It's effective and not too expensive. Plus, I just love that this is a Pinoy brand!
