Laura Mercier Eye Colour Duet in Stellar/African Violet

Hello beautiful!

Just sharing this very pretty duo eyeshadow palette that my sister gave me. :)

Laura Mercier Eye Colour Duet in Stellar/African Violet

Laura Mercier has been one of my sis' go-to brands for around a decade now and most of the LM products that we've blogged is from her. If you're not familiar with Laura Mercier, do look it up because they have really good products. I love their concealers and their tinted moisturizers. :)

Anyway, the shades that is included in this duo palette is Stellar and African Violet. I love this combo because it gives a light and romantic vibe.

It's a great everyday eyeshadow. It comes in a square compact with a mirror, which is very handy when I travel.

I love that Stellar is a great base color with the right amount of shimmer. African Violet, on the other hand, is a warm purple shade with gold shimmers. I find this shade very attractive. It's becoming one of my favorite eyeshadows to use!

I love the pigmentation and I appreciate that it's not very chalky, especially African Violet. I can pair this with a pinkish nude lippie in the morning and a cool hot pink or a deep fuchsia lipstick in the evening.

What do you think of the Laura Mercier Eye Colour Duet in Stellar/African Violet?

FOTD : A Happy 26 Year Old Me!

Hey loves

It's my birthday! YAYYYY!!!
I'll be celebrating with loved ones in a couple of hours so the moment I finished doing my makeup, I grabbed my cam and took pictures so I can share with you the look I have right now. :P

So this is what I currently look like.

I chose some of my favorite makeup for today. Here they are...

I'll update the post with the names of every product when I get home later.

As for the eyes, I made a simple nude-mauve combination.

And of course, my favorite winged eyeliner look is there!

I also used my favorite lipstick, MAC Ruby Woo. My mom always tell us to wear red on our birthdays because it's a celebration. I dunno what culture that's from... is it Chinese or Filipino? Anyway, it's good that my lippie looks awesome with my blouse!

So that's all for now. Gonna go spend the day with the friends and family! Wooot! Maybe I'll blog about my birthday celebrations in a few days. :)

Have a great day, guys! Love ya!

Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer For Under Eye

Hello dearies!

My sister got me a new under eye concealer. Lately, I have been trying out different brands to see what works great on my eye bags and dark circles. I've tried good ones like the one from Clinique, but I wanna try some more and that's why I love that my sis got me this.

Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer For Under Eye

Info from the website:

A unique 3-in-1 concealer that covers, de-puffs, and brightens dark under eye circles. The highly pigmented formula builds and blends flawlessly for professional makeup artist results. Formulated with honey, vitamin E and fruit acid to nourish and smooth skin. A little goes a long way and lasts all day.
The 12 shades correspond to the existing Secret Concealer range for easy matching.
Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested for use on all skin types, and safe for contact lens wearers.
8 mL/ 0.27 FL OZ
USAGE:
Prep the undereye area with a hydrating eye cream and/or eye serum prior to concealer application. Then, apply concealer to undereye area using finger in a “press and roll motion”.
Remember to just use a “pin drop” – a little goes a long way. For precise application, use the Secret Camouflage Brush, applying with a feather-like stroke.
If needed, set with Secret Brightening Powder.
INGREDIENTS:
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Ethyl Macadamiate, Butylene Glycol Cocoate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Tribehenin, Boron Nitride, Silica Silylate, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Tocopheryl Acetate, Propylene Carbonate, Glycerin, Water/Eau/Aqua, Mel/Honey/Miel, Tocopherol, Malic Acid. May Contain/Peut Contenir/(+/-): Ci 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499 (Iron Oxides).

It's available in 12 colors.
The shade that I have, no. 4, is pretty dark on my skin because my sister has tanned skin right now. It still looks fine when I wear it since I top it off with powder that's near to my skin color.

It's housed in a tube which is a preference of mine when it comes to liquids besides a pump-up bottle. It's hygienic and you can easily control the amount you dispense.

The product is a thick liquid but still easy to spread. I was surprised at how pigmented it is.

I even thought that it may be too thick for the under eyes... Anyway, check out how it works on my eyes...

Bare under eyes

With the product on

It easily concealed the dark circles which is great! I do wish that the concealer isn't dark so that it could have brighten my eyes more. It's not too visible on the pictures, maybe it's because of the lighting on my dressing table... The puffiness of my bags is still a problem though... but this has been there since I was born. Haha!

I've also tried this on my friend, Stacie, who I did a makeover on a month ago.

Left: without concealer
Right: with concealer

This really works great in concealing but I must advice you to have a well moisturized skin, especially on the under eye area before using this. This will surely make the dryness of the skin more visible. I have oily skin and I always apply eye cream before sleep and a thin layer before I apply makeup so I don't encounter any creases or caking. So yeah, this works great on me and I have no bad experience with it. If you have dry skin, better test it first at an LM counter to see how it will work on you. :)

Have you tried the Laura Mercier High Coverage Concealer For Under Eye? What's your favorite under eye concealer?

Laura Mercier Golden Honey Glow Illuminating Stick

Hello loves!

I'll be sharing more and more swatch posts from the products my sister sent me from Australia. Some of these are her preloved items which I happily accepted because, well, they're makeup! And most of them are things I can't afford for myself yet. Haha! And this product that I'll be sharing with you is one of them...

Laura Mercier Illuminating Stick

The shade is Golden Honey Glow.

My sister loves this brand. I do too if I only have the money to buy more from them. Haha! But I understand why she loves Laura Mercier so much. My favorite is the Secret Comouflage concealer and their tinted moisturizers.

I don't like cream products though so I am not overly excited with this product, but, summer is coming soon and the bronze look will surely be a hit again! Just look at the gorgeous color of this stick:

It does look like the color of honey with very fine shimmers. It's housed in this very classy, retractable tube. It really looks gorgeous, don't you think so?

Below is the swatch of the product:

It's creamy and it glided smoothly on my skin. It feels buttery smooth but still light to the touch! No greasy feeling at all!

Here it is when blended. I love the bronzy glow and the shimmers as well. Blending the product was easy and you can use your fingers or a makeup brush. It really feels light on skin so you won't feel like you're wearing a cream product at all!

I do, however, have an NC30 skin and the product doesn't show much on my face. I don't apply too much though. I can't use it as a blush because I find it weird to have a too bronzed face right now (perhaps I can do that when summer is here). On the pic above, I applied mostly at the bottom of my cheekbones, where you usually put contours. I love the natural, dewy finish it gives. It looks so natural but I believe the color will pop-up more on lighter skin... or maybe I should just add more? But I don't really like adding so much cream products on my oily face. :P

So if you want a subtly, bronze glow, then you might want to check out this product. I think there are other shades available like the Golden Rose Glow which you can use as a blush. :D Anyway, that is all for tonight! :D

FOTD: Chocolate Cranberry in the Morning

Hello loves!

I was in the mood to wear dark colors today. And since it is the fall season in some parts of the world (lol), maybe I can get away with it even if I'll just be going to the office.

And this is how I look today. I wore a mulberry colored lip that looks chocolate brown when applied thickly. I paired it with brown eyeshadow and a winged liner.

These are the products I used for this FOTD:

If you're interested to know what brands they are and what shade they are, please comment them below. I'm currently in the office right now so I can't check it right away. Sorry! :P

I think the makeup looked nice with my maroon-colored blouse from Forever21 and also my current NOTD which is Sparkling Maroon from Girlstuff.

So what do you think of my FOTD? :)

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Barely Pink

Hey lovelies!

Just sharing this super old post... it's been in my drafts list for so long. But just in case some of you are wondering what this particular blush's swatch looks like, then this post can be a bit helpful. :P

Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Barely Pink

I actually don't have this anymore because this shade is too light for my liking. :P

It has a light peachy pink shade. It looks really nice on skin especially if your skin is fair. See the swatch below:

I love the pigmentation of Laura Mercier blushes. I would like this shade more if it's a little darker so that it would look more natural on my cheeks. Maybe I'll get another shade someday. :)

And that's all for now. Going to watch some TV series for the rest of the evening. :P

FOTD : Light Orchid Lips and a Leopard-Print Scarf

Hello dears!

My first FOTD post for 2014 and I'm using a lipstick shade that is close to this year's pantone color—Radiant Orchid!

This was my FOTD a few days ago when I went to work. I wanted to wear that scarf so I based my makeup according to the colors of the scarf and what would look good with it.

The stars of the look are:
Avon Totally Kissable Lipstick in Deep Orchid
and my Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadows in Summer Linen, Berry Burst, and Chocolate Bliss

Close up of my eyemakeup:

I used
Kate Eyeliner in BR-1 to add definition to my eyes then Smashbox Waterproof Mascara for my lashes.

The eye makeup is pretty simple so I wouldn't be too flashy because I am already wearing a bold lippie and a big scarf. :P

For my base makeup, I mixed a Laura Mercier Foundation with Holika Holika Milky Veil Pore Cover BB Cream then topped it off with Ben Nye Banana Luxury Powder.

For my cheeks, I contoured it with Guerlain Terracotta Moisturizing Bronzing Powder Long Lasting in No. 01 and then used Kanebo T'estimo Blush in PK-18.

It's a very simple FOTD, well, at least for me. Thoughts on this look? Would you also wear an FOTD like this?

Cheers,
DAWN
