Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream

Hey guys!

Sharing my quick thoughts on this product that was sent to us more than a month ago...

Himalaya Herbals Nourishing Skin Cream

I love their Neem masks (review here) and since last month, I'm discovering how effective their other products are. So far, I've reviewed their Purifying Neem Foaming Face Wash. Check my thoughts about that one here.

Let's get to know the Nourishing Skin Cream first from the product description from the website:

What it does:

Himalaya’s Nourishing Skin Cream is a light, nongreasy, daily-use cream, which provides all day moisturizing, nourishment and protection.
The cream is blended with the extracts of Aloe Vera, Winter Cherry, Indian Kino Tree and Indian Pennywort, which protect your skin from pollution and dry weather, providing nourishment and moisture.

Key ingredients:

  • Aloe Vera, known for its many healing properties, is rich in enzymes, polysaccharides and nutrients which exhibit antibacterial and antifungal action. A natural UV inhibitor, its hydrating, softening and intense moisturizing properties nourish the skin.

  • Winter Cherry is an effective anti-stress agent. In skin care, this plant is used for its antioxidant action, which helps skin cell regeneration.

  • Indian Kino Tree has astringent properties which work as a skin tonic to tone and rejuvenate facial skin.

  • Indian Pennywort is regarded as the best home remedy for skin disorders such as chronic ulcers and persistent eczema.

Directions for use:

Apply Nourishing Skin Cream gently over face and neck twice daily, after cleansing. For best results, use regularly.
Suitable for all skin types. Can also be used as a base for make-up.
Nourishing Skin Cream is dermatologically-tested, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic.

Pack sizes:

50g (Php 99.00) and 150g (Php 199.00)

And here are more info on the packaging:

It promises to be a safe and effective daily cream that's equipped with natural ingredients that will make the skin moisturized, nourished, and protected all day. It's also very affordable. I like that it comes in 2 sizes. You can buy the 50g first to see if the product suits your skin well and then buy the 150g if you like it!

I love that the shelf life is 3 years. I like to try different products and since I blog and review them, they tend to be stuck in my shelves for a while.

The product smells good but can be a bit strong... I guess that's my opinion because I'm not used to strong scents on skincare for the face (I like scents for body products though). This is a multi-purpose product so you can use this on the face, neck, and body as written on the label. I've also read in some blogs that some use this as makeup removers!

The cream is quite thick and you need to massage it for a while onto your skin so the white cream wouldn't be visible. It get's absorbed pretty quickly and you wouldn't feel any greasy feeling. I find that it is too thick for a facial care product though.

The moisture this product gives is pretty good. My skin feels hydrated when I wake up (I usually apply this before I sleep at night). My problem though is that I think this caused me to breakout... maybe the product isn't suited for my oily skin. When I stopped using this on the face, the breakouts stopped. But I continued using this on the body and it worked well in moisturizing it. So I guess I have to find a milder cream or moisturizer for the face to be safe... and woot! Himalaya Herbals also gave me a facial cream for that and I'll do a review on that soon. ;) Hope you stay tuned for that!

And those are my two cents on this product. What do you think? Have you tried this product from Himalaya Herbals?

Cheers,
DAWN

  1. I have this as well. I know HH is a trusted brand, but I find multipurpose skincare products for the face and body quite shady! (Personal preference, face lang, body lang. Haha) Didn't try this on my face kasi mineral oil 2nd ingredient niya, but it's an okay body moisturizer. :)

    1. I brokeout sa face e. I guess this will work better for people with dry skin if they'll use it sa face. I, too, prefer my products designated in a specific area. Face lang or for the body. :P
