BYS Graffiti Nail Enamel

Hey everyone!

Apologies for being M.I.A. in the past few days... I didn't have the chance to borrow my bro's laptop since he was very busy and needed it most of the time.

But now that I got a few minutes of 'blog time' with the laptop, let me share with you a quick blog post about one of the treats I got from a recent event!

BYS Graffiti Nail Enamel

I was so excited to try it out when I saw this included in the press kit.
So I tried it as soon as I got home.

First, I applied the nail enamel...

The shade I got is Tag It Gold.

I love the color! I achieved this finish in just one coat. I could wear it as is even without the graffiti part. But of course, I like my nails with more art in it so on to the next step!

Using the Graffiti Activator, draw your desired design on to nails. Make sure your base, the nail enamel, is completely dry before you do this.

I didn't have a design in mind so I made it abstract! A.K.A. just do random lines in any directions. Haha!

The graffiti activator turned the drawn lines in a darker shade which you can see in the pictures. It's pretty neat, don't you think?

I tried topping it off with a clear polish from Caronia but it ruined the look because the whole nail became a shade darker. So I guess this nail art is supposed to be worn without a polish? Not sure. If you know a clear polish that doesn't damage the design, please do share! I think a top clear coat is needed because the gold polish tends to fade fast. Within a few days, it gets chipped off too.

This is quite fun to do and it's like an instant nail art.
I'm going to try out more nail polishes from BYS. I heard they have other kinds of fun polishes that we could try. :D

Cheers!

Peachypinksisters Prepares for Prom

Hello ladies!

Promenades are quite the event won't you agree? Prom nights are always such a big thing when you're in high school and the preparations for it are always one of the most nerve wracking and money spending venture of our high school life. Right?

Well anyway, remember Liz's sister, Mitzi? She had her JS Prom last January 31, and we being the kind "ate-s" decided to offer our services and help her prepare.

Of course, Dawn did the make up while Liz did the hair.

Mr. Bong Lazo of Retazzo was kind enough to let Liz's sister borrow one of his designer gowns for the event. Many thanks to him. :)

She looks quite the lady doesn't she?

And here she is striking a pose with her best friend.

Well, we were very happy to be of help to Mitzi and quite happier that we had the chance to do a make-over. How'd you like the look? Any prom stories from you guys?

Cheers,

The Review

1.
Ok so off the bat, true, the BB serum inside does brighten you up, but I wouldn't say it's a feature that's exclusive to this product. I mean, I find most of my BB creams to be brightening or lightening (since they tend to gray my complexion out) and this one is not an exception. Refer to our pictures below.

2.
With regards to the instant hydration, well, I was using the product during my driest time, as in my skin was super dry, almost to flaking and my sebaceous dermatitis were all acting up. So, did this product help it quell my skin problems? Well, I'd say YES, though using it alone would not and did not help eliminate the problem, I still had to use my deep moisturizers and steroids for the dermatitis but it did help prevent it from worsening.

3.
Natural finish... depends on the person using and how much you're using. On me I find using half a pea-size amount is enough for it too look natural. Too much and I'd look stark pale and just wrong.

4.
Easily blend-able. I find that using a brush makes it easier to blend.  I do not recommend using your fingers as the product is quickly absorbed by the skin so it makes it a little harder to blend/spread when you're using your fingers.

5.
I love anything and everything with SPF and UV protection and with it having SPF 25, that just about makes me happy to have it with me. :)

6.
Soothing... can't really comment on that. I wasn't particularly noticing it.

7.
Evens skin tone, I'll say YES  to this one, if you're able to apply it evenly and well enough. :)

8.
Lightweight, indeed it is... but since I put a lot more to even out my skin color, it's a feature that I don't much notice.

And here are the pictures of when we used the product.

My face without the product.

Applying it to certain parts of my face then working on blending it out from there.

As you can see with the finish, it grays my complexion out.

And here we are finally, after some added pigments. A nicely hydrated face.

In summary:

What I like:
Packaging
Hydrating
All natural ingredients
Packed with vitamin C, aloe vera and shiso
Lightweight

What I don't like:
Grays out my complexion

Will I buy again?
So since this was given to us, I'm not sure how much it costs. I've seen how much it is in Australia and in other countries and it's around 30-40 dollars so I'm assuming the PHP price is near that. I probably won't yet since I still have a lot of BB creams lying around.

So that's how it is. Danica did also mention that this product is actually more of a skin care product than a make-up and I agree on that note as well. I do love this product but opted to give it to my mom so she can have a really great BB cream since she doesn't use any. So far she's liking it. :)

Cheers,
LIZ

Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick in Skin

Good evening,

I've always liked doing barely there looks or make-up that do not take a lot of effort to do. So I always like lip colors or any products that are perfect for nude make ups or barely there make-ups.

One of my nicer shades of lipstick that meet just that is the one I have from AVON.

I particularly LOVE these types of lipsticks from AVON, the plain ones. I don't know if it's just me, but the shimmery ones have a bitter-ish taste to it sometimes. It discourages me from using them.

These matte ones however are far better. They fit just about any skin color and is one of my staples when I do barely there make-ups.

swatched on hand

sans lipstick

with lipstick applied

As you can see, it's really a color that is very near to my natural lip color, it just enhances my lips, making them look healthier, less pale.

Well, that's all I have to share for today. What AVON lipstick do you use? Do you encounter the problem I have with their shimmery ones?

Cheers,
LIZ

My February Glamour Box

Hey everyone!

Finally got a Glamour Box!

I heard some great reviews on their box's contents that's why I'm very excited to receive my first box! And it arrived yesterday!!!

Yayyyy!

I immediately opened it as soon as the courrier dropped it at my house.
It was in a carton box for added protection too.

They have a letter as well...

And at the back contains the list of the items included in it...

If you look at the prices of the products, you know that the money you paid for (Php 595) is worth it. Though most of the items included are in their sample sizes and not the ones mentioned in the letter. :P

Anyway, without further ado, here are the products I got:

Calvin Klein Beauty
(Love the scent!!!)

Carmex Moisturizing Lip Balm
(There's no such thing as too many lip balms)

Kji & Co. Emergency Lash Rx
(Very interesting. Will try this ASAP)

Gift cards from Cuzo and Chi Dermatology Clinic
(Liz likes the derma gift card!)

Snoe Oil For All Argan Oil
(Finally! Been wanting to try this one for so long)

and Wild Peach Customizable Makeup Palette
(I've planned on buying one for a while now)

I'm very satisfied with everything included in this box. I'm honestly very excited to use all of these items. I'm happy that Glamour Box delivers the items that are really worth trying out and what most beauty enthusiasts would be very interested to take home.

Maybe I should be a regular subscriber of Glamour Box from now on... What do you think?

Cheers!

Review : The Face Shop Face It All About Gel Eyeliner

Hi dearies!

Out of all the kinds of eyeliners, Gel Liners are probably my favorite. They are the easiest to use and the most long lasting! That's why I have to have one in my stash... always.

Today, I will be sharing with you my review of my latest gel liner...

The Face Shop Face It All About Gel Eyeliner
This is around Php 650-700 in stores.

I bought it because I haven't tried much items from The Face Shop and the box looks so pretty. Haha!

This gel eyeliner comes in 5 colors : Black, Brown, White, Pink and Blue.

So here's a little description of the product from the box:

The container is very classy. A bit heavy compared to previous gel liners I've tried. But I don't mind since I don't bring it with me when I go out.

It comes with an dual-tip applicator. One end is the brush and the other end is a smudger for that perfect smokey eyes look.
I just don't have a picture of it since I think I lost it. :P

Here is a swatch of it on my hand:

In just one swipe, you get this black finish already. But if you want it darker, then you can just apply more. The color is buildable.
This gel liner is very creamy compared to other gel liners I've used. Since it's creamy, it glides well making application very easy. This is probably the creamiest and easiest to apply in all the gel liners I have used so far.

And to test if it is indeed waterproof, I placed my hand against running water and nothing happened. And then I rubbed my hand several times and this is what it looked like:

Minimal smudging!
And take note, I rubbed it several times.

And what about it's lasting power?
It's pretty good! It barely does any smudging too. Except this one time that I didn't wear any eyeshadow and my oily eyelids got the better of my gel liner. Boo. So I guess it's better if you have oily skin like me, that you use some powder eye shadows so that the eyelids don't get too oily. It would be better if you also use eyeshadow base/primer. :)

I use this gel liner mostly as an eyeliner to define my eyes.
But it can be used for smokey makeup too. But you have to smudge it fast since this gel liner dries pretty fast upon application. And also, try not to open your eyes too fast when applied. Let it dry first to avoid it going to your upper part of your eyelids.

What I like about it:

Easy to use

Glides easily
Long lasting
Waterproof
Barely experience smudging
Locally available
Works well weather you like a clean, defined line or smokey eyes
Dries fast upon application
Packaging is nice
Buildable color
Comes in 5 colors

What I don't like:

More expensive than most of the gel liners I've used. Will rather buy online than in stores.

Will I buy again?
I would. It's easy to use and performs great. Though I'm still open to try other brands.

That's all for my review!

Have you tried this product from The Face Shop yet?
Any other gel liners worth trying out? Do share!

Cheers!
