My November-December (2014) Haul

Hello loves!

Before the year ends, I'd like to share my latest acquisitions, a.k.a. my new babies that I will be reviewing on future posts. A couple of these are my "Christmas gifts" to myself. These are items that I've been wanting to get for so long and finally had the courage (and the money) to purchase.

So here are my new babies:

One of my major purchases and one of my two faves is the Lorac Mega PRO palette. I bought this from Beautyholic Manila on the last week of November.

I also bought some products from Etude House last November. They were on sale so I was happy to do some shopping to take advantage of the discounts. These products are:

Etude House Play 101 Pencil in Nos. 4 and 33

A tweezer, an eyeliner sharpener, a pair of false lower lashes, and a bath sponge

Happy Tea Time Cleansing Cream

This December, The Body Shop also had a sale (Buy 1, get another one at 70% off) and I bought my favorite face mist!

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist and some cotton pads

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Lip and Cheek Duo Palette in Celebrity and Diva

Yadah Vitamin Mist

Been a sucker for face mists lately. Even though I'm satisfied with the one from TBS, I also want to try other brands... especially those that are more affordable. :P

And finally, another favorite and the most expensive among all my purchases... this Michael Kors watch. I love wearing watches and most of those that I have are those very cheap ones that are around $5-10 only but I do have some that are from Timex and Anne Klein. Anyway, I was talking to my cousin some weeks ago and she told me that it was time I invested on buying real jewelries. So I guess I started with a watch. :P

And those are my new stuff! Do let me know what you are most interested to read about soon! :D

Happy New Year, guys! Hope that this year would be a fruitful year for everyone!

Cheers,
DAWN

The Body Shop Glitter Eyeliner in Sparkling

Hey dears!

Looking for ways to make your eye makeup stand out more? Then I suggest you add some glitters to give your eyes a fun and sparkly look.

One of the glitter liners that I recently got is the...

The Body Shop Glitter Eyeliner in Sparkling
Php 795.00

I got this as a gift from The Body Shop some weeks ago along with the Winter Trend Eyeshadow Palette that I just blogged a few days ago.

Some info from the website:

And below are the labels on the product:

The packaging is the usual dip bottle case for liquid liners.

It comes with a thin brush applicator.

The consistency is a little thick so you get all the glitters together but when applied, it feels thin and you don't have to wait a very long time for it to dry when applied.

So you get that quite solid, glittery line!

The eyeliner when applied

I also used the Winter Trend Eyeshadow Palette in Frosted Pastels for my eye makeup on the photos above.

I like that it never irritated my eyes. I've tried some glitter liners that were stingy to my eyes when I apply them. This one, I have no problems with. It's long wearing too. It barely smudges after a day of wearing it!

I like this because it delivers good results and lasts long without experiencing any irritations. It is quite pricey though.

Have you tried any of the Glitter Eyeliners from The Body Shop yet?

Review: Too Faced: Chocolate Soleil Medium/Deep Matte Bronzer

Hello ladies,

Finally found time to make this post. This product has been with me for quite a long time and I haven't had the time (nor the right skin condition) to use it or make a decent post about it since Dawn came back from the States. So sorry about that. But anyway, the holidays are here and I've had a good amount of occasions to use this product.

I really like bronzers, ever since Dawn introduced them to me in college, and made me see the light of how they instantly give shape to my otherwise round, puffy cheeks. So I have been kind of bronzer crazy... I've had several of them; one from ELF (the one paired with that nice blush), another from Guerlain (which I adore), and another from Rimmel. However, I have never had one that blended naturally with my skin color, and was matte. So I was quite happy when Dawn gave me this one.

So to begin, I like how this bronzer is packaged. The black casing and the engraving of the case is quite chic. The size as well is (to me) within the medium range, by this, I mean, it's small enough and thin enough to fit in your make-up kit but not too small that you'd feel there is inadequate amount of product for use.

However, I visited Too Face's website and found that they have changed the packaging for this product and instead of the black casing, the cover is now somewhat of a mocha color. Still chic though.

I also love the BIG mirror. It makes everything so much easier especially when you're on the go.

As you can see as well, this is quite a matte bronzer. There is no shiny stuff in there, even fine ones which I see in my Guerlain matte bronzer. Also, I think this one is nearer my color than any other bronzer I've ever had.

Here it is swatched on my hand... I don't really know if you can see it... I hope you do. But anyway, it blends out really well and getting the  product from the compact to the brush and on to the skin is easy. PLUS it smells FANTASTIC.

So this is me, sans make-up and bronzer...

And here is me with the bronzer... I know the lighting is a bit biased... but you can still see how my face is thinner looking with the bronzer.

And this is how it looks from the side.

Anyway, the bronzer lasts long and is my new favorite thing. Problem is it's only available in Sephora or online and it's a little expensive. It's 30 dollars according to the website. So I'm hoping it lasts me long enough or until I can buy a replacement.

Cheers,
LIZ

NOTD : Girl Stuff Nail Polish in Turquoise

Hey loves!

I went to SM San Lazaro a few weeks ago and it's been a while since I visited the place even though our house is only 10 minutes away. While strolling around the mall, I saw that they have a Girl Stuff kiosk there. I've only tried a handful of their products because I don't often hang at the branches they have that I knew of so I'm very happy that they have one now that's so close to where I live.

Anyway, while I was browsing the available items, there's one shade that caught my eye!

I just love that color! The bold, metallic turquoise color with very fine shimmers just made me fall in-love instantly.

Girl Stuff Nail Polish in Turquoise

So below are more photos of my NOTD. :)

Would you wear this color on your nails? What's your favorite Girl Stuff nail polish shade?

The Body Shop Winter Trend Eye Shadow Palette in Frosted Pastels

Hey gorgeous!

Christmas is over but that doesn't mean we don't have to look all sparkly and merry! Get glammed-up with frosted pastels with this eye shadow palette from The Body Shop!

The Body Shop Winter Trend Eye Shadow Palette in Frosted Pastels
Php 1,495.00

This palette is quite different from the previous Winter Trend palettes in the last couple of years. The others were mostly dark, earth tones for smoky eyes. This, on the other hand, has lighter shades for a brighter look.

Even the packaging is different. It's lighter and the design looks cuter compared to the classy black compacts of the previous years.

Anyway, let's see what this product is all about first...

Info from their website:

The box also has a step-by-step instruction on how to create that frosty holiday look!

This year's edition comes in two shades. The other is called Dolly Pastels. I think the other one is more of my type but I guess Frosted Pastel is still good since it is more earthy in color and it's a bit different from most of the eye shadows I have now.

This is what the palette looks like.

It comes with a double sided applicator.

One side for applying eyeshadows while the other is for lining.

What I like about this palette besides the sparkly goodness is that the brown shade can be a nice brow shadow! It works great if you have colored hair and light brow hair strands.

These are the swatches.

And below are photos of my eye with the eyeshadows on. I applied it as directed in the instruction on the box.

The colors are very neutral. Even the mint shade is quite sheer but very glittery. I was expecting more pigments like the ones in the previous palettes but this is a bit different because the two neutral shades are pearly finish (the brown is even close to being matte) while the other two are very sparkly! The combination would look great with a bold lipstick to give an even brighter look. Sparkly eyes + bold lipstick is perfection this holiday season!

So what do you think of this palette? Are you more of a Frosted Pastels or the Dolly Pastels?

Cheers,
DAWN
