A very cold day lovelies!
What's the downside of being a student? Staying up late, stress... and worst of all... break outs... Not that only students have break outs and blemishes...
Women have always struggled with fighting of blemishes and skin imperfections and although we LOVE the fact that make up helps us conceal them, we are also in constant search for products that would help us heal them faster and, much better, prevent them from coming altogether without using drugs.
And The Body Shop has done just that for us with their new Tea Tree Line. In particular, Dawn and I have recently been using the Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion.
The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion
A lightweight, hydrating gel-crème for
blemished skin. With regular nightly use helps
minimise the appearance of post-blemish
marks and discolouration
This product comes in a pump which makes dispense and clean up easy, and also ensures hygeinic use. :) The consistency is much like any other lotion but it is very lightweight when applied on skin. It's not sticky and does not feel slick/oily. It dries quickly and leaves a certain cooling effect when it dries.
The only downside to this product is the smell. It smells like new tupperware... a little irritating to the nose at first... but the smell only last for a few seconds so I guess it's ok (unless you have heightened sense of smell).
Dawn had used this weeks before I started and she's noticed how it has reduced the appearances of blemishes and break outs in her face. I also noticed that her post-blemish marks have faded and wanted to try it as well.
I've used it twice now and I've seen how it has reduced my tiny pimples... you know, the ones that just feel like they're there, but are never red or filled with pus... they're just there making bumps on your skin... nasty little creatures...
I have plenty of those in my forehead... and I have a BIG forehead... so yeah... it's a BIG concern as well.
Also, since shifting exams are just right around the corner and tests are coming in bulk due to frequent suspension of classes (not that I'm complaining... I actually like it)... I've been having a lot of break outs every day (like 1 new pimple per day). This has helped reduce them... since I've not seen a new one for the past 2 days. Plus it also helped in healing my recently-popped ones (not that I pop them) and started-healing ones.
It is a bit pricey though... more or less 800 pesos. But if you buy now, they slash 200 off and if you're an LYB member you get another 10% off; so for now it's within the budget.
What I like:
packaging
lightweight
dries quickly
reduces post-blemish marks and discolouration
reduces appearances of blemishes
helps keep break outs at bay
helps hasten healing of current break outs
What I don't like:
smell...
I guess I got more out of the product than what the product had promised me. :) The Body Shop released a number of products using Tea Tree specifically for blemished skins. I do want to try all of them but my budget does not permit me. So for those who can, do try them and tell us what your experience was.
Also, for those with Ipod Touch, Iphones and Ipads, try and get your LYB membership digitalized and for those who aren't members yet with the mentioned gadgets, we encourage you to do so as well. Not only do you get to enjoy the perks of membership but you also get to contribute in the effort to save Mother Earth. :)
Cheers,
LIZ
Hmm. Sounds pricey. You guys should try Glutamax. It's super effective and a bit cheaper than that. :)

Good to know it works for you. I tried it in conjunction with the tea tree toner and it did absolutely nothing to my acne scars. Now I'm using Estee Lauder ANR and my scars fade significantly in just a month. :)
ReplyDeleteI actually got my bf to use this as well. He says it smells nice so LOL! My skin doesn't like tea tree. :(
ReplyDeletei love tea tree!hmm thiking of trying this out!:)

I use their tea tree oil and it's really effective to counter pimples but for blemishes, it's not really working for me. i'll try this soon!:D
ReplyDelete@wonder woman - ooh... sige... i'll try that one too after i finish this one. :)
ReplyDelete@gforglitzy - i did want to try Estee Lauder ANR kaya lang it's too pricey din. but i hear it's really effective.
@anna ho - good for your bf then. :)
@gie - go ahead while they're still on promo. :)
@kath - i guess it's kind of selective. dami nagsabi it didn't work as well... I think I have to redo my statement about it keeping my pimples at bay... I may have said that prematurely...
but it still helped them be a little less painful.
@jonnie navarro - it helped me more with my blemishes... my aunt told me my face looked brighter or healthier... something along that line. :)
This sounds interesting kaso namamahalan ako. I have this tiny bumps in the forehead too and i'm sick of them already. I hope that its really organic, kumbaga malaki talaga ang percentage ng tea tree oil nya. Pero sana ginawa nilang mas mura.. Where can I buy this kaya?
ReplyDeleteI found this blog but it doesnt work properly http://www.thebodyshop.com.ph/
