Review : Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Gel Eyeliner

Good evening lovelies,

I'm on a little high today since it's Friday and I just saw the amazing fireworks from UST's Baccalaureate Mass. :)

Congratulations on all the graduates especially our dearest Dawn.

Anyway, recently some of our friends have been sharing their make up treasures for us to share with you as well. Here's another one, Riza's Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Gel Eyeliner.

Her mom bought this from Japan a few months back that's why we don't have the newly-opened-pot pictures.

Here's what's written on the bottom of the pot.

The first time Riza brought this to class and showed it to us (the kikays in class) and let us play with it, we fell quite in love with it. It has a good consistency that is very easy to spread. It is very pigmented and stays on for the whole day.

It dries on your lids long enough for you to be able to smudge it, if you want to, but not too long that you'd have an unsightly line on other places of your lid. Once it settles, it's almost 100% smudge proof.

This pretty little thing also comes with an angled liner brush. Personally, I prefer the pointed liner brushes more since I find it hard to do tight lines with angled brushes. But the brush does work great if you want strong, bold lines.

Here it is lined on the hand (top) and smudged twice (bottom).
As I said earlier, it's very pigmented, very much so that you'd only really need little of it to line both of your eyes. To prove this point, Dawn did the lines on her hand and the winged line (below) on her eye with just one dip from the product.

Here's a picture of the eye liner on Dawn's eyes.

A little note though, for people with really oily lids or for those whose lids may oil up quick, although the product would still stay for a long time, it tends to get a little me ssy overtime. This though is not the fault of the product, and may be remedied by putting primer on to help control the oiliness.

What we like:
1. Consistency is good and is easy to spread on the eyes.
2. It's very pigmented
3. A little goes a long way.
4. Drying time is quick but still allows you to do smudge work
5. Long lasting.
6. The pot does not seem to dry out quick.
7. The packaging looks chic.

What we don't like:
1. Would have wanted a different brush with it.
2. Not that affordable (especially for those with tight budgets)
3. Not sure if it's available in the Philippines.

It's kind of funny sometimes when I ponder on how much my classmates rave over make up. Oh well, I only have one more week of exams, I pray the next week will not be as much of a rollercoaster ride as this week.

And again, congratulations to all the graduating students. :)

Cheers,
Liz

  3. love the packaging, but I find it too expensivoooo! hehe... there are already drugstore brand eyeliners that perform well. ^_^

  4. @hollie - I love it too but I already knew it'd be too expensive to me to buy. Hooray for friends who can buy them and let us use them. :)
