RiRe Luxe Gel Tattoo in Grey Brown

Hey dolls!

There was a hype a few months ago on eyebrow gel tattoos. I didn't get one until the hype sort of died down a bit. I don't usually buy items just because it is popular, I buy them because I'm interested in them (or in some cases, they are hugely discounted—so what the heck, right?). Well, I bought an eyebrow gel tattoo because it is hugely discounted at the Althea website. Haha!

RiRe Luxe Gel Tattoo in Grey Brown

From PhP 760.00, it was down to PhP 320.00.

I bought the shade Grey Brown because I have dark hair right now. The other shade is Light Brown.

To sum up all the claims regarding the RiRe Luxe Gel Tattoo, it promises to:

- Enhance your brows (will stay on skin so you look good even with "bare" skin)
- It's long-lasting (can last up to 7 days)
- moisturize and nourish the skin

The product is housed in a tube that looks just like the usual mascara tubes. There's barely any design except the labels. The simplicity is pretty okay for me. I do like that the color of the tube is the shade color as well.

The applicator is a brush that's a bit flat. I like that because it makes applying at the corners easier because you can create thinner lines.

It dries like something that's plastic. This swatch is a bit thin and I realized that peeling it off is easier if you apply a thicker amount.

When peeled-off, you do get a grey-brown shade. I dunno if it's the lighting that it looks a bit greenish in this swatch, but you get a better look on the swatch on my brows below.

Here's my brow. I have dark brow hair. You might see a hint of brown there from my previous application from days before.

Here's how it looks when I apply it.

Make sure you apply it on clean skin. I recommend that you apply it after cleansing so there's no sebum build up around the area you apply it. I have oily skin so it only takes a few hours before I get shiny.

After more than an hour, I peeled it off. The instruction in Althea's website even recommended waiting for two hours.

I do like how it turned out! It's pretty cool actually. It doesn't look harsh because of the absence of lines. I just apply a brow mascara and I'm ready to go!

After a day at work (I applied the night before) and removing makeup, here's how it looks like.

I like that it's still there and I think that it got too light already. I think my oily skin and my makeup remover probably contributed to the fading. With this case in mind, I think I'll have to reapply again because the faded version doesn't sit well on my eyes. So the promise that it can stay up to 7 days, I doubt it can on my skin considering how much it faded after a day. Maybe I can do some retouch with a regular brow pencil but that's pretty much like applying a brow product all over again. I do appreciate that it holds up for the entire day and you can even swim with it and your brows still look "on-fleek." 

But yeah, it still fades so having the perfect brows 24/7 for days is still not there for me yet. I still like this product and if you're looking for a brow tattoo you can try and that's also affordable, I recommend you try the RiRe Luxe Gel Tattoo!

Anastasia of Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate

For the longest time, I've struggled finding the right product for my brows. I have dark brow hair and they aren't even. My left brow in particular has areas that need filling. It's a long and funny story actually. When I was a kid, my sibling and I experimented with my brows because it was too thick... So a huge pair of scissors in the hands of a seven or eight year old boy resulted to a disaster—it led to the hairs on an area of the brow to not grow anymore.

So now, I am in a look out for brow products that look good enough for my brows. The hard part is that it's dark that when I find brow pencils that is dark enough to pass as my brows (usually dark browns or gray browns), it's still sheer and they don't blend well and don't look anywhere near natural. The pigmented pencils on the other hand look too harsh. It's pretty tricky to work with my brows, but I do have tried a few products that work, and usually they are in powder form. Now I'm sharing with you the pomade type that's been a popular, crowd favorite since it launched.

What made me attracted to buying it is that it's buildable. Unlike the brow products that I use where I had to blend multiple shades, I can use this alone but can create the finish that I like (which is darker at the outer corners).

I use an angled brow brush to apply the product. Although brow pencils are still easier to use, this way is still easy enough for me. Be careful with how much product you put in your brush so you don't get harsh lines. Practice makes perfect!

This reminds me of a gel liner when it comes to consistency. It glides easily on skin too. I also tried to sniff it and it's unscented. Just in case you're wondering. Lol

It stays the whole day on me even on my oily skin. I'm pretty satisfied with it's performance and I can't think of anything I do not like. I've been using it for months and it doesn't look like it's gonna dry up in the jar (unlike some gel liners I've used).

Miniso BlowLash EX24 Perfect Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil in Red Brown

I chose the shade Red Brown because I just colored my hair in the shade Red Wine when I bought this.

So first, let's get to know the product from the product descriptions.

The product is double-ended. One end has the brow pencil that you twist-up, while the other end is a spoolie brush to help with the blending.

The design is just okay considering the price. For me it doesn't feel sturdy compared to other double-ended twist-up brow liners I've tried, especially the spoolie part. 

It is true that the triangular shaped pencil "lead" makes it easier to control the lines you create. The slimmer side is great for thin lines especially at the outer parts of the brow while the thicker end makes filling in the brows easier.

The color is not too intense which is ideal in creating a more natural-looking brow. It doesn't look like it on the swatch, but I find this too waxy.

When smudged with hand, it comes off easily. I don't know why it's called waterproof when it's so easy to remove. I didn't even need water.

My brows are too dark so I still need to use a brow mascara to make this red brown shade work. Applying it was easy except for the part that it's too waxy that it makes my brow hair stick to skin.

Overall, I would pass on this because even though it's very affordable, I think there are other brow pencils that work better for my brows that are near its price. However, this is not a bad product. I still can create a natural looking finish if you have thinner strands of brow hair.

Review : The Face Shop Designing Eyebrow Pencil

When putting on makeup, I try to keep my brows groomed and if needed, shaped using brow makeup, so that my brows can frame my face better. I know many who believe that kilay is life when it comes to ones makeup look, so I try to equip my makeup stash with good brow products.

Each brow pencil is PhP 225.00, but I was able to get it on a Buy 2, get 1 promo.


I bought the darkest shades because I have dark brow hair.

It also contains the ingredients list on a sticker on the bottom cap of the pencil.


The pencil actually has two caps on each end. One has the pencil while the other houses the brow brush that helps you blend the product.

It's a twist-up product and has a triangular shape. It makes it easier to glide the pencil on your brow and will not give you a very sharp, and pointed line. We want a natural looking brow and not a dark and sharp one.


Here are the swatches. From top to bottom: Gray Brown, Brown, Dark Brown

As you can see on the swatches, the lines produced are soft and most importantly, not sharp. It creates soft lines that blend well to fill in the brows without looking harsh. What I did notice though is that it's more pigmented than the brow pencils I've used from other Korean brands.

Well, I really do have dark brow hair. I need a brow mascara to make them blend well. But I do think that The Face Shop Designing Eyebrow Pencils are very easy to work with, affordable, and fills in the brow with a soft finish.

It can last the whole day on my oily skin. I don't touch my face much so that helps a lot there. :P

What I LIKE:

- Affordable

- Locally available

- Soft, but pigmented lines

- Easy to use

- Comes with a brow brush

- Available in five shades

- No need to sharpen

- Long-lasting

- Slim and classy packaging

What I DON'T LIKE:

- Nothing... I do think that it can be more pigmented than what I expected, but just make sure to work it with light hands.

Would I recommend it? Yes!

Review : Shawill Coloring Eyebrow

So I'm still on my quest to find the perfect brow product. I've already tried some that sort of work but I have to use 2-3 products to achieve it. I was hoping to try a product that can do the trick alone and it has to be long-lasting and sweat proof. 

While browsing the beauty stalls in SM Manila's department store, I encountered this product...

Shawill Coloring Eyebrow
I bought it for PhP 188.00.

I bought it because I haven't tried a liquid liner version for a brow product. I was hoping that it will be an affordable dupe for the popular K Palette Brow Tattoo.

So let's get on with the review.

I think it only comes in one shade. :P

The packaging is the typical pen type with a cap. The design is sort of cutesy although I think that the font selection needs improvement. haha! 

It has a brush applicator that can create fine lines if applied lightly.

I was trying to create hair-like strokes but I guess the lines aren't as fine as hair. It's quite dark too and I already have dark brows. So I suggest that you use it with light hands.

It's sort of smudge-resistant. The photo above shows how the swatches stayed on my hand after rubbing it a few times.

When rubbed with water, some of the product came off, but not too much. It's safe to say that it is quite water-resistant (not waterproof!).

Above photo shows my bare brows. The hair of my brows are thick and dark so I can't just use any brown-colored brow product. I gotta go with the dark shades so this product's color is good enough.

The above photo shows my brow with the product. I really struggled adding hair-like lines because of the thickness of my brows. The strands block the direction of the line I'm trying to make, especially the end of the inner brows part where I just want to add a little more strands to balance it with the darkness of the brow hair next to it.

I need to practice more to perfect it because the shade is just too dark that a small mistake will be very obvious. The problem here is that since I have dark hair strands, I needed to add more... and adding more can either make it too thick and dark because the shade is just dark or it will just look fake or just drawn if I place the lines far away from each other (because as you can see, my hair strands are pretty close to each other, especially the inner area). What makes it worse, it dispenses a lot of product when you press it hard on skin, so be careful!!

I find this kind of brow product really hard to use—harder than the brow pencils which give a more natural finish. :( I blame the darkness of it. I'd rather have a brow product that is sheerer in shade that I can just build up. 

But staying power is pretty decent. It still fades when my skin gets oily but I think it can stay the whole day if I blot and make sure I don't get sweat on my brows much.

To summarize this review:

What I LIKE:

- Decent staying power

- Affordable

- Locally available

- Travel-friendly (non-bulky)

- Brush tip applicator

- Smudge-resistant

What I DON'T LIKE:

- One shade only

- Shade is too dark

- Hard to apply

- Not a fan of the design

Would I buy again?

No. It's too hard to use and I find that the finish is too strong for my brows.
