NOTD: Abstract Pastels

Hey guys!

Whenever I get bored, I just scroll down my Facebook timeline and see if there's something interesting to read or watch. I saw this nail tutorial (I'm sorry but I can't remember from who or which page that was from) and the look was pretty much like an action painting. My nail art skills aren't as good though and my nail art tools are limited so I can only come up with this:

It's a mix of purples and blues with glitters, of course!

These are the products I used:

CODE Professional in G603
Maybelline Color Show in
Jenna Hipp (shade to follow)
ORLY Top2Bottom Basecoat + Top Coat
ORLY French Manicure
And some gold chunky glitters :)

It's pretty easy to do. I just fill the nails with my chosen base, preferrably a light colored one and then add the colors. I tap the brush first on a tissue so that it doesn't carry too much polish so that it creates a sort of brush stroke with extra streaks. Play with the colors! Go for light and then dark ones. I added some glitters for extra glam and accents.

What do you think of this NOTD?

NOTD: Phoenix eggs

Hello loves!

It's NOTD time! Haha!

The nails I'm sporting today is how I envision how phoenix eggs would look like. Fiery with a touch of sparkly magic! Haha!

I used these two glittery polishes to get the effect.

Girl Stuff Nail Polish in Sparkling Maroon
The Body Shop Colour Crush Nail Colour in Sequins Gold
ORLY TOP2BOTTOM Basecoat + Topcoat

I used Sparkling Maroon first then applied Sequins Gold on top. I used the Orly polish for my base and top coat.

I am really loving Sequins Gold polish because it can make my nails look more exciting with the burst of glitters. The contrast of the black and gold gives an elegant tone to it as well.

What do you think of this NOTD?

NOTD: An Easy Gradient Blue

Hey everyone!

Something awful happened yesterday. The hard drive of my laptop died! I'm not sure if any of my files can still be recovered... Good thing I backed-up some of my files a few months back. The more recent ones are those that I'm afraid of losing foreverrrr. Oh well... I might not blog as often in the next few days... probably weeks. But that's a big MIGHT. I'll try my best to post at least 3x a week. ;)

Anyway, I'll share with you an NOTD for now. :)

Check out my super easy gradient nails! :D

I only used these three lovely nail polishes:

After I applied the base coat (ORLY) and the base nail polish (Jenna Hipp), I took the glittery one (Code Professional) and applied from the center of my nails to the tip. And then I applied again from 1/3 from the tip upwards.

And this is the result! A very easy gradient and glittery finish. No need for 3 colors of nail polishes nor sponges. :)

The polishes have been on my nails for almost a week when i took the photos. :P

And that's my NOTD! What do you think?

NOTD: Purple Layers

Hey dears!

How was your long weekend? I pretty much spent it with my family while stuck in traffic. Haha! My bro and I went to our province last Saturday and our travel time was four (effing) hours when normally it should only be around an hour and a half. Ugh. Oh well. At least on our way back to Manila, we got there in less than the usual time because we decided to travel at midnight when there are less cars on the road. :P

Anyway, let me share with you my current nail art... :P

It's not very clean because I fell asleep too soon and the platinum polish wasn't dry enough. Oh well. But it looks nice when viewed afar. LOL

These are the polishes I used for this NOTD:

Orly Top2Bottom Basecoat + Topcoat
Revlon Nail Art Shiny Matte in 510 Pinstripe
Sei Bella Nail Color in Peach Frost
Code Professional in V503

Besides the bold colors, I like that I played with the different polish textures. The base coat was the usual shiny polish, the dark blue-violet shade is matte, and the one on the top layer is a platinum frosted polish.

I'll try to recreate this NOTD with a better application next time. Hopefully I can make it better. But what do you think of this look?

NOTD: Juicy Watermelon

Hello dearies!

Sharing my NOTD that is super fun and easy to do. This is a nice summer look (although it's already starting to rain here). Anyway, it's still hot even if it rains so a juicy watermelon is still awesome to have... on your nails. LOL

The nail art looks so fresh but it will only take you less than 10 minutes to finish all your nails. ;)

These are the polishes I used.
For the base, I used that warm peachy pink shade from Skin Food (RE108). And then I applied the lime green one (BL505) at the tip. Finally, I added the "seeds" using a dark brown shade (BR611). I used the Orly one as bottom coat and the Jocarste glitter polish on top to add the "juicy" look.

I really like the outcome. I did some mistakes on some though like I made the seeds too big on the pointy finger. Haha!

And that's it for my NOTD. Hope you guys like it. And if you will do this as well, I'd like to see how you did yours and what nail polishes you used! :)

NOTD: Starry Blue Sky

Hey everyone!

I only have two weeks left for this semester in Grad School hence the less frequent blog posts. Last week was exhausting but my sparkly nails helped in making me feel better (yes, pretty things makes me happy).

So I've been sporting these nails for a week now and they haven't chipped, well... except for the nail on the thumb... there's a small one but you don't really notice it quickly.

Anyway, I used the polishes above. The Code polishes were bought from Jeju, South Korea. It was an unfamiliar brand and each polish is around $3.00 only so I bought some so I can try them out.

For the base, I chose the Code Professional Nail Polish in V503.

I love this lavender color. It compliments my warm skin tone very well. :D
I can wear it alone but you know me, I get bored easily with plain nail color so I added glitters!

I topped it off with Code Professional Nail Polish in G603.

I added more at the tips so it looks darker with more glitters.

I just love this NOTD. It looks so magical. What do you think?

NOTD: Choco with Vanilla Chips

Hey gals!

I was in the mood to do some simple nail art with the "dotters" I bought a week ago.
And this is what happened...

It was a super easy look. Just apply 2 coats of the base polish and then use 2 different sizes of dotters for the embellishments.

These are the items I used. I don't know what brand of nail polish I used as base but I bought this from Beauty Bar. I already asked some of the SA's there but they don't know the brand too. Haha!

I chose this color because it is the closest one I have to Marsala Red, the pantone color of the year. It's just darker I guess.

Since the color is earth toned and too serious, I wanted to add some fun to it with the dots.

So what do you think of this look?

NOTD: Pet Paws

Hey guys!

Do you have pets?
I currently have two pet dogs that are so adorable and I just love them so much! 2 days ago, I was thinking of what nail polish I should wear while I was bored in the office. Suddenly, my officemate and I talked about my pets, Aqui and Bono. I love talking about them because they're like my very own babies and I always end up smiling whenever I thought of them.

So then I just thought of doing a nail art that is inspired from having/loving pets! I want to do a simple one because I did this on a weekend night (sleeping is very precious to me so I have to do my nails quickly to get more sleeping time). And I ended up with this NOTD:

Paw prints on black polish! I

I used these polishes for this NOTD.

This is one of the easiest nail arts I've done since I only have to do dots.

I used white and yellow in contrast to the black polish. The paw prints really stood out!

I used two colors to represent my two loveable baby doggies. And here are some pictures of them:

Bono

Aqui

Aren't they so cute??? :3

And so I shall end this post now so I can go and play with my babies! Ta-ta!
