FOTD : Purple Skies

Hey darlings!

Hope you're all safe and dry. The typhoon Glenda did a lot of damage in the metro and caused blackouts around majority of Luzon. We didn't have electricity for 7 hours yesterday and 12 hours today.

Today's weather was much, much better. It's just a little cloudy and some rain every now and then. Work was suspended today so I was stuck at home where there was no electricity. My family decided to go out for lunch and do some groceries to escape boredom and the heat inside our house.

So yeah, I have to put on makeup inside our dark house. I only have one window inside my room that is almost blocked by buildings so I don't really have much light while I was doing my makeup. But even if we have this dark, gloomy weather, that doesn't mean our makeup has to be like that too...

So I decided to go with bright and fun colors! Weeeeee~!

These are the makeup products I used for the look.

The highlight of the look is the eye makeup.

(Sorry for the mascara mess)

I mixed white, purple, and blue from my Make Up For Ever Eyeshadow Palette.

The eyeshadows are matte but I used a shimmery liner at the lower eyelid.

And then I went with a glossy, Hot Pink lips and a warm pink blush.

So what do you think of this look? Would you wear this eye makeup as well... errr... while shopping for groceries? LOL

FOTD : Light... Eggplant (?)

Hey dears!

So sorry for the title but I just can't think of a good name for this look. I wanted to use my Peripera lipstick but I haven't planned the rest of the makeup I'll be using so I just went with whatever palette my hand touched when I reached for one in my drawer. Honestly, I'm bad with giving titles on any of my works (all my artworks are mostly called "untitled" LOL) and if you check my NOTDs, FOTDs, or EOTDs, their names aren't any good either. They're probably too literal or very bad descriptions of the looks. Haha!

So for this FOTD, my very bad description of the look is that the colors I used are like the colors of an eggplant but a few shades lighter! Haha! *bad dum tss*

Errr... anyway, here's the list of makeup I used:

BAVIPHAT MAGIC GIRLS PLUS BB CREAM #1

Nature Republic Collagen HD Foundation Essence
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL GEL LINER

I just wanted to make my eye makeup in the warm side since my lipstick is purple and cool-toned. I wanted something with a pop of color. Good thing the palette I got is the Technicolor Palette from MUFE so a lot of colors were present. The warmest was the yellow one and next was the green so I combined both.

I do think the eye makeup suits the lippie, doesn't it?

That all for now. Hopefully I get better with finding names for my looks. Haha!

Review : Baviphat Magic Girls Plus BB Cream #1

Hello loves!

Since it's the summer season here in the Philippines, my face is extra oily and I sweat more than usual. Because of these, my makeup tends to melt, especially if I forget to blot off excess sebum.

That's why I try to use makeup that are made for oily skin like me. So today, I'll share with you one product that I bought some months ago that does that.

Baviphat Magic Girls Plus BB Cream #1
I forgot how much this is when I bought it but I guess it's around Php 800.00-1k in stores? But that's just a rough estimate. I really can't remember. :P

Can't read the details though. But still posting the labels just in case you can read it. :P
This BB has two variants, #1 is for oily skin while the other, #2, is for dry skin.

Loving the packaging art! The illustration gives the vintage feel to the product.

It claims that it has SPF30 and PA++. The SPF is quite good. These properties are great for the summer!

Here's a swatch on my arm.

It smells nice but it's barely noticeable. It's like sweet and herby and baby powder fused together.

on paper

Consistency is a little thick but just a little. It's very easy to spread and blend and it also feels light on skin.

Spread on my arm

It gives a slight dewy/ semi-matte finish and gives a light but buildable coverage.

Bare face

with the Baviphat Magic Girls Plus BB Cream #1

What I love about this BB Cream is that it's shade is warm enough to match my skin perfectly unlike most BB Creams which are lighter or pinker or sometimes even greyer.

Performance is great! It can last the whole day if you blot off the excess sebum which I only do twice for the whole day at work (around 10 hours of wearing makeup). It helps if you set it with powder to make it last longer and also to make it matte which I prefer when I do my makeup. Been using this everyday when I go to work (along with a lot of concealer because this doesn't help much in covering my scars and pimples) and I do not experience any breakouts or other irritations.

What I LIKE:

- Matches my yellow-toned skin!
- Controls oil
- Lasts long
- SPF 30 and PA++
- Locally available (there's a stall in Cinderella, Glorietta)
- Consistency
- Easy to spread and blend
- Light on skin
- Packaging
- No breakouts or irritations

What I am NEUTRAL about:

- Price
- Semi-matte finish

What I DON'T LIKE:

- Coverage is minimal

Would I purchase again? I probably will. It really makes my face look decent for a long period of time during this awfully hot weather. I recommend this to those who have oily skin who loves using BB Creams that doesn't mind light coverage.

So what do you think of Baviphat Magic Girls Plus BB Cream #1? Have you tried this BB Cream yet? What about other products from Baviphat?

Early December Haul Post

Hey everyone!

The holidays are just around the corner and shops are having their end of the year sale!
It's so hard not to buy anything!

But since I have my mom with me last weekend, I immediately grabbed the opportunity to make "pa-cute" and got her to buy me stuff while she feels like being generous. I didn't hear the "May trabaho ka!" line at all! Hahaha!

Anyway, here are my purchases...

I don't even know why I have these. My mom just went inside M&S and bought them. I included them here since they are really yummy and the pape rbags are cute. Haha!

A denim blouse from Espada

A necklace from Espada as well

Leather Jacket from Forever 21

A blouse again from Forever 21

And a super colorful bag from CMG.
Been a while since I bought a bag. A colorful one at that! Looks so cute with a plain black outfit. Which I have tons of! ♥

And of course I won't forget getting more makeup! Hihihi...

The Face Shop Face It All About Gel Liner
Baviphat Magic Girls Plus BB Cream
Sachets of Skin79 Snail BB cream and Skin79 Super BB cream

And finally,
 A lipstick-shaped ring!
I wear it whenever I wear an uber red lipstick! Haha! ♥

That's all. Been buying shoes and clothes lately. Maybe I should really start doing OOTD's too... what do you think?
I'll try to resist going to malls from now on since I already quit my job (yep, I'll be penniless soon again). Haha! Wish me luck! :P

Cheers!

Baviphat Eyeliner Wood in No.2 Star Black

Hello lovelies!

Black liners is a must-have in my makeup stash. I have to have it in every kind of liner, but I believe the most important is a black pencil liner. It's the easiest to use and the most versatile in my opinion. That's why I am always on a look-out for a great black eyeliner pencil.

So one day while I was out having lunch, I stopped by a Korean makeup stall and saw this...

Baviphat Eyeliner Wood in No.2 Star Black

I got it in a cheap price of around Php150.00. It's available in 2 other colors - brown and white.

I barely have any Baviphat products which made me want to get it just so I have something to add in my stash. :P

This product is REALLY creamy and pigmented - very black indeed. It also has some fine glitters with it. It easily glides on skin and even on the waterline. It's something I'd use in doing smokey eye makeup!

But it's very easy to remove when you smudge it. I have oily lids so it doesn't stay on very long on me. And underneath my eyes, it gets smudged easily so there are occasions wherein I get the panda eyes. :(

Oh well... It's not the best black liner pencil I have but it's really handy. Like I said, it works great on smokey eye makeup and works well if you plan on doing an emo-look! :P

Have you tried this eyeliner yet? What about other Baviphat items?
Do you use black liner pencils often too?
Which is your favorite?

Cheers!

The Face Shop and Baviphat Haul

Hello lovelies!

A few days ago I received my very first paycheck!

Yayyyy!

And of course, to reward myself, I immediately bought things that make me happy...
Makeup and Skincare!

Good thing there was this little stall near my work place where they sell Korean makeups for a very low price!

So I bought these...

Tadaaa!!

Neat, huh?
I bought all those for only Php700.00! Almost 50% off if I buy them from the mall.

The items are the following:

The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam Aloe

The Face Shop Clean Face Oil-Free BB Cream

Baviphat Eyeliner Wood

and I got this as a freebie!
The Face Shop E'thym Hydrating Toner and Moisture Lotion

It was very nice of the lady who owned the stall to give me the freebie. I was telling her that I have really oily skin that's why I wanted to try the oil-free BB Cream and she gave me that freebie since it's best for oily skin.

I'll definitely be back to that store again when I have extra cash to spend! I'm so happy I discovered that place!

If you want a review on a product included in this haul, just comment below!

This Week's Online Haul!

Trace writes: I am addicted to online shopping/swapping. Not as much as before (where packages were delivered daily at our doorstep, much to my mother's ire), but I can't survive a month without two to three new toys to play with. I even wrote an article on Makeup Swapping Etiquette @ KikayExchange back in 2007!

Some may have qualms purchasing stuff that's not hot off the shelves. But I don't mind trying out pre-loved items at an affordable price because if other girls are as addicted to makeup as I am, then I am sure that (1) they really take care of their items; (2) they have a hard time finishing up their stuff; (3) after they tire of some items, they transform into six-year-olds and conveniently store away the old ones (except those with Holy Grail Status!) and buy newer, more innovative products. So given that, I'd rather adopt their babies at a lower cost, and vice-versa (after all, we can't buy everything! That is, except if you're really really rich. I'm not. Wish I am, though, and I'd be giving away stuff every week on this blog. So do pray I win the lottery. Haha!).

Without further ado, here are my lovely hauls this week!
