Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash

Hello dearies!

I was in a search of a new mascara when I saw the ad of The Luxury Brand sale a while ago. I thought that it would be a great opportunity to try a new mascara and get it for a huge discount. So while browsing the products on sale, I saw a set from Make Up For Ever called "Artistic Essentials." It comes with a lippie, eyeliner, powder, and a mascara. Everything, except for the liner are in deluxe sizes. I honestly prefer deluxe sizes because I like to try so many things! Haha! So i just thought that this is the perfect purchase to make because I rarely get the opportunity to buy something from MUFE (because I’m cheap lol) and I got four items too!

For this post, I’ll share my experience using the...

August-September Haul (2017)

Hello loves!

It's my birth month and this is my excuse for me to do some MAJOR shopping spree! Weeeeeeeee!!! I've actually saved up for me to afford all these and I'm just happy with every single one of these purchases, and I'm very happy to share them with you by writing reviews and providing the prices and where I was able to get them.

So here they are...

First and foremost, the one that many beauty enthusiasts are watching out for...

...the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation.
It's by the one and only Rihanna. I'm not a major fan of the popstar but I do listen to a few of her songs, but after watching reviews of her products, I just might become one! A fan of her beauty line—Fenty Beauty! Wooot! Got this full-size foundation at Sephora Philippines for PhP 1,950.00 and got three deluxe sample sizes! Review will be posted SOON!

Also, I bought a Zoeva En Taupe Palette for PhP 1,106.00. I've been lusting for that palette since the day I saw it while browsing the Sephora website. I thought it was affordable and I love the highlighters I have from the brand so I just really wanna try it. My neutral palette is more on the warm side and I love wearing taupe and pinkish nude colors so I think this palette is a nice addition to my stash.

And I also got the Zoeva Cat Eye Pen for PhP 386.00! I like how black it is.

Last month I went to The Great Luxury Sale and was able to bring home some hugely discounted products. I lost the receipt  so I can't provide the prices of all the products, but I got these babies for more than 50% off...

Make Up For Ever Artistic Essentials
This set has products that I will surely use. What I like is that they are deluxe samples so if I do like any of them, I can buy the full-size.

Sleek Strobing Souffle in Smokey Quarts
Got this for PhP 200.00 only.
I love the color and the chunky glitter!

Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar Gel Cream
Got this for only PhP 800.00.
Since I have oily skin, an oil-free moisturizer simply feels better for me.

Aveda Radiance Fluid
Got it for PhP 650.00 only. Yay serums! It claims to "boost skin's natural ability to shed skin-dulling cells."

Chloe Eau de Parfum in Love Story and Elizabeth Arden  Eau de Parfum in Untold
I can't remember the price of each but I think the total of both is PhP 3,500.00.

I also bought some brushes because some of my brushes need to retire already. I decided to go with synthetic ones this time.

7-Piece Unicorn Makeup Brush Set (Pink Gold)
Bought this for PhP 800.00 at BeautyMNL

If I have unicorn ones, I also have a mermaid one! Yay! And they're both Rose Gold!

Neutrogena Deep Clean Daily Scrub and Facial Cleanser
PhP 305.25 and PhP 269.75
I like that these skincare products both have salicylic acid.

Bobbie Nail Polish Remover - PhP 68.00
I really like this Nail Polish Remover. It smells okay and gets the job done quickly.

Kitty-Shaped Essential Oil Diffuser
I bought it for around PhP 600.00. We already have two at home but I still bought it. I just like that it's a cat! Haha!

Faber Castell 4 PITT Artist Pens in Sanguine and Sepia
These are 408.75 each.
I need to do some art soon. I feel like I'm getting rusty!

Below are the things I bought from DAISO. These are mostly PhP 88.00 except for the face brush and the cotton pad case, which are both PhP 188.00.

Baking is something that I'm happy doing lately and that's why I bought these. I plan to make a small cake!

A face brush and the cotton pad case

Tea light candles can be a bit pricey. These are only at Php 88.00. They are thinner compared to those bought at the department stores but they last long enough to make my room smell great.

THREADS! Haha! I have a project in mind. Hopefully I can share it to you once it's done!

And those are the things I bought recently. What among them are you excited about so I can write a review? Comment them below.

Make Up For Ever Professional Powder Blush in n°88 Cotton Candy

Hello loves!

I like using pale blushes so when I found this particular blush on sale, I grabbed it!

Make Up For Ever Professional Powder Blush in n°88 Cotton Candy

It's like the perfect soft, light pink! I like wearing a dramatic winged liner and a bold lipstick so I tend to balance the look by applying little or pale blush.

I'm not sure if this blush is phased-out already because i can't seem to find it in the website, but it's still available in the online store Beautylish.

Anyway, I'm just gonna post the swatch for reference. ;)

The swatch is just beautiful. And I love that the blush is not powdery.
It's the blush that I always bring when I travel along with a light peach one.

What do you think of the Make Up For Ever Professional Powder Blush in n°88 Cotton Candy?

May (2016) Haul

Hello loves!

I know that I just got back from my Sydney trip last month, but I just can't help myself from taking advantage of the end of season sales of brands. There were so much goodies with hugely marked-down prices that I just had to withdraw some of my money and promise my account to not withdraw again for the next two months. Haha! If you see the new stuff I bought, you'll understand why. ;)

These are just... half of my haul ;)

All the shopping happened in just three separate days. Haha! Some of them I really planned on buying, while some are just random things that I thought were too cool of a deal to pass out.

So here are the new items that you will be seeing in future blog posts... :)

The Face Shop Designing Eyebrow Pencils in Gray Brown, Brown, and Dark Brown
Each costs PhP 225.00.

I got them on a promo—you buy two and you get one for free!

The Face Shop Premium Eyelash Curler
PhP 205.00

I had to visit a Beauty Bar branch to help a friend pick some makeup for her... I ended up buying more stuff than her. Haha!

Smashbox Santigolden Age Eye Shadow Collage
Original price was PhP 1,900. Got this for only PhP 665.00.

ArtDeco Kajal Liner 04
Original Price - Php 395.00
Bought for PhP 256.75

Mineral Fusion Intense Hydration Face Cream
Original price was PhP 850.00
Sale price is PhP 637.50

The next three products are the planned purchases:

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion - PhP 1,095.00

Mario Badescu Anti Acne Serum - PhP 1,545.00

Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid Toner - PhP 1,145.00

I also got free samples of their Enzyme Cleansing Gel and AHA and Ceramide Moisturizer!

Etude House Beauty Tool Brush 121 Skin - PhP 848.00
I just thought it was cute and I wanted to try it out... I did hesitate because I didn't expect the price to be that high, but I actually like using it to apply foundations or bb creams. :)

A few days ago, my bro and I had a shopping spree when we went to a sort of warehouse sale. We splurged on brands that are quite high-end or too expensive for our wallets but they were discounted for more than 50% in this sale so we took advantage and bought a lot! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to keep the receipt so I forgot how much we bought them. Sorry. :P

AVEDA shampoos and conditioner
(Mines the "be curly" variant while the "dry remedy" and "smooth infusion" are my brother's)

Elizabeth Arden Skincare—Toners and a Hydrating cleanser

Aveda Men Pomade (also my bro's)

Issey Miyake L'eau Dissey (also my bro's)

Philosophy time in a bottle
I wish I didn't buy the one I got from Beauty Bar if I knew I will be getting this. Haha! I think I was able to get this for less than 1k.

Yes, I buy unused testers. Haha! These are Guerlain products though. And they are gooood and I'm sure they are authentic.

Shiseido Maquillage True Liquid Long Keep UV in OC20 Natural Ochre
Got this for PhP 500.00.

Make Up For Ever Powder Blush in 88 Cotton Candy

Sleek Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte Lip Cream in Birthday Suit

Sleek True Lip Colour Lipstick in Smoulder

Sleek True Lip Colour Lipstick in Cherry

Sleek True Lip Colour Lipstick in Barely There

Lanvin Merry Me Eau de Parfum

And that's all! Haha! I guess you won't be seeing a haul post anytime soon (two months shopping ban for me). Even though I spent so much, I'm really happy with all the products I bought. Hihihihi...

Review : Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in 13 Mat Black

Hey dearies!

Here's another product that I bought during my out-of-the-country vacation last June. Since everyday was a whole day of sight-seeing and food-tripping, my makeup should be easy to apply, simple, and long-lasting.

One of the looks that help me look decent even after a whole day of walking are well-defined eyes. I like applying eyeliner on my upper lids, thick ones. They just make the eyes look bigger and more alive, something many Asian makeup lovers would agree with. So I needed an eyeliner that is black and has a very good staying power. I have extremely oily lids so it has to be extra powerful!

So when I was browsing Sephora for an eyeliner that can do that for me, I saw this...

Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in 13 Mat Black

I've already tried the pencil one and it worked pretty well (although I use that on the lower lids for color) so might as well try this too.
I forgot how much I bought it but I'm pretty sure that it is not on the same range as the usual eyeliners I buy here in Manila. MUFE in the Philippines is even more expensive than  in the US. That's actually another reason why I bought this one during my vacation.

So anyway, let's proceed to my review.
Let's see the info on the packaging:

Packaging is very classy and simple. It looks so clean and sleek.

It promises intense color, waterproof result, easy application, and can be easily removed my makeup removers. It's also available in various shades, I believe there's 19 of them...

This is a liquid type eyeliner and it comes with an applicator.

Here's a closeup of the applicator. It's a short, soft sponge tip. With this, it is easy to control the line especially if you want them thin and precise.

Swatch on hand

The formula is thin and light. I like that I don't have to wait a long while to let it dry when I apply it. It's fragrance-free too!

When applied

It looks really black on the swatch but when applied, the blackness of the eyeliner isn't that black. Just try to shake it before using so the pigments are all there.

It says it's matte but it's not when I apply it on my eyes. It gives off a slightly shiny finish. Not much of an issue for me though.

It is easy to remove. You can actually rub it off! It's sort of a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is that you don't have to use too much of your time removing waterproof eyeliner. The bad thing is when you accidentally rubbed your eyes, it gets flakey and will just fall off.

As for the staying power, it can last the whole day without smudging... even on my oily lids! Yay! It sits there prettily unless you rub your eyes and then it flakes off. :P

Anyway, to sum it up:

What I LIKE:

- Waterproof
- Long-lasting
- Easy to use
- Packaging
- Easy to remove
- Fragrance-free
- Available in many shades

What I DON'T LIKE

- Not really matte
- Not black enough for me
- Flakes off when touched
- A little expensive for my budget

This would have been pretty good if it weren't for the lack of blackness. I want my eyeliners intensely black. If it were, I would have bought it again... but it's not, so I most probably would not purchase the product again.

So what do you think of the Make Up For Ever Aqua Liner in 13 Mat Black?
