Peripera Peri's INK VELVET in So Grapefruit

Hey dears!

It's the love month already and if you're looking for a warm, bold, and bright red lip color for a hot date night with your special someone, then this might be the product you are looking for...

Peripera Peri's INK VELVET in So Grapefruit

I received this as a gift from my blogger friend, Tellie of Beauty by Tellie, when she went back to Manila for a vacation.

Tellie actually has more shades with her and she made us (we were with Helen too) choose which shade we want. At first, I thought this was pretty much the same red shade that I have—those bold red lipsticks that are cool-toned. But as I swatched the shade, it was brighter and warmer, like it's leaning to becoming a red orange color.

Also when I swatched it, I also noticed the creamy texture yet it doesn't feel so thick or greasy. It also dried on skin pretty quickly—it's basically like the popular matte liquid lipsticks!

It's cased in this cute packaging that actually reminds me of an eye dropper bottle. I like that behind the product's name, you see a splatter of the shade as if a dropper was used to drop the "ink."

The applicator is a doe-foot applicator and it holds enough product to cover my lips.

Below are the swatches of the product:

At first swatch, you can see the creamy texture.

And after a few seconds, it dries and sets on skin and becomes very hard to remove. I smudged it with my dry fingers and it's still there!

I also tried smudging it with wet fingers and it still looks great! Only very little of the product was smudged off!

The staying power is very impressive and it can last the whole day! It's a date night-approve lipstick indeed!

Check out how I can wear this lippie...

When I apply this on my entire lips, you can see the bold and bright red shade. See how the color has a slight orange tone to it? It's a pretty sexy color!

I can also do a gradient look with it too, for a sweet and subtle look for the lips.

I definitely love this product and I want to get more shades! I think they have nine other shades and I WANT THEM ALL! Haha!

Would you wear this color? What do you think of the product?

Review : Peripera Very Nice Pen Eyeliner

Hello dears!

Eyeliners are becoming a must in EVERY makeup look that I do recently... I usually play with different eye makeup looks, but nowadays I feel like my makeup is incomplete without a fierce, winged liner. Maybe it's just a phase, but hey, I think I look good with eyeliner so everything's fine. Haha!

Anyway, just sharing a review of one of the eyeliner pens that I've used...

Peripera Very Nice Pen Eyeliner

Very nice name, huh? Haha! I bought it for PhP 595.00, but I think I bought it at a 20% discount (if I remember correctly). Yippee!

I didn't have an idea if the product will be any good when I bought it. I just included it in my shopping cart because it's on sale and well, because of the photo below.

Haha! I was hoping that it can create a line that's as dark as the one on the photo. :P

Anyway, here's the product description.

I tried looking for a website that has the list of ingredients, unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky. Everything else in the box is in Korean. :(

Anyway, let's get on to the review...

The packaging is pretty cute. I like that it's not bulky and that it is easy to carry around. The design is simple but I like the touch of the lace detail and the soft pink font and design color.

Oh, and I also love the metallic pink box! Hihihi... :P

You can remove the cap by pulling it off. You get to see a felt tip kind of applicator.

I find this kind of applicator pretty easy to use—I think it's the easiest compared to the other kinds of eyeliner applicators.

And now, for the swatches...

The bottom swatch is what I can produce when I try my best to apply it thinly. I can create a thin, fine end for my winged liner, but not the super thin kind that you apply when you just want to add definition to your eyes and that you don't look like you're wearing eyeliner.

It's color is indeed black, but it's in the middle of being matte and like a plastic-glossy finish (I've encountered that kind of liners before... the ones that flake off). This one doesn't flake off though and it dries pretty fast upon application. No need to wait too long before opening your eyes completely. :D

I tested its lasting power...

with running water, it stayed completely well without smudges.

When I wiped it hard while wet, majority was smudged off.

I tried rubbing it over and over after and nothing else came off.

So I conclude that it's not completely waterproof. I can say it's water-resistant. I am still pretty impressed since it stayed even if I rubbed it pretty hard. I doubt that you'd rub your eyes the way I rubbed the swatches on my hand anyway. Haha!

Anyway, here's how I apply it on my lids:

It looks gorgeous! And application was pretty easy!

It may not be the usual waterproof liners that I use, but it can stay the whole day on my eyes provided that I use a good primer (I have really oily lids). It only smudges when my primer and eyeshadow fail and my whole eye makeup starts to crease... But yeah, I think the staying power is pretty good.

So to summarize:

What I LIKE:

- Packaging
- Easy to apply
- It's black!

What I'm NEUTRAL about:
- Price
- Water-resistant instead of waterproof
- Decent staying power as long as I have primer on

What I DON'T LIKE:

- It's not easy to find (I don't see peripera stalls anymore and the product isn't easy to find at online stores)
- It's hard to create thinner lines with the applicator

Would I buy again?
Probably not. I liked using it, but it's not one of the liners that really impressed me. :P

And that's my review of the Peripera Very Nice Pen Eyeliner. Thoughts?

New Makeup for My Birthday!

Hey dearies!

So I just celebrated my birthday last week and, of course, I bought some makeup and I also received some gifts from friends (well, most of them are more like pasalubong because two of them just got back from abroad).

And here they are...

Too Faced Natural Eyes Neutral Eye Shadow Collection

The palette was included in my best friend's pasalubong from L.A. when she visited last September. I actually requested for the palette and I was planning to pay for it when she gets here, but she said it's a gift. Huhuhu... my friend is so sweet no?

Last month, BeautyMNL had a promo with Shu Uemura. Just buy one item from them and you get an eyeliner worth PhP 1,500.00 for free.  You don't get to pick what type of eyeliner or what color you'll get, but I still think that the deal is really good. I was able to get the freebie but I dunno if you can still avail the promo since it will continue only until supplies last.

I bought this lipstick—Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte in MCR342.
It's PhP 1,000.00

And I got this freebie—Shu Uemura Metal Ink Liquid Eyeliner

I also got gifts from blogger friends!! Weeeee!

I met with Helen and Tellie last month. For some weird reason, we always have gifts for each other whenever we meet. Haha!

I gave them sketches that I made of them. Hihihi.

I got the Zen Zest Vanilla Cream Body Scrub from Helen and the Peripera Ink Velvet Lip Tint and Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint from Tellie.

And those are all the products I've acquired during my birth month. I'll post swatches and reviews of all of them soon. I hope you stay tuned for that! ;)

FOTD : Light... Eggplant (?)

Hey dears!

So sorry for the title but I just can't think of a good name for this look. I wanted to use my Peripera lipstick but I haven't planned the rest of the makeup I'll be using so I just went with whatever palette my hand touched when I reached for one in my drawer. Honestly, I'm bad with giving titles on any of my works (all my artworks are mostly called "untitled" LOL) and if you check my NOTDs, FOTDs, or EOTDs, their names aren't any good either. They're probably too literal or very bad descriptions of the looks. Haha!

So for this FOTD, my very bad description of the look is that the colors I used are like the colors of an eggplant but a few shades lighter! Haha! *bad dum tss*

Errr... anyway, here's the list of makeup I used:

BAVIPHAT MAGIC GIRLS PLUS BB CREAM #1

Nature Republic Collagen HD Foundation Essence
TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL GEL LINER

I just wanted to make my eye makeup in the warm side since my lipstick is purple and cool-toned. I wanted something with a pop of color. Good thing the palette I got is the Technicolor Palette from MUFE so a lot of colors were present. The warmest was the yellow one and next was the green so I combined both.

I do think the eye makeup suits the lippie, doesn't it?

That all for now. Hopefully I get better with finding names for my looks. Haha!

Peripera My Color Lips in No. 9 Pink Plum

Hello dears!

I just love all things pretty! So as I was at the mall browsing the beauty section, there were these tubes of lipsticks that caught my eye at the Peripera stall.

They were pink with silver floral design reliefs on the caps. The main tube is metallic pink with the cute embossed logo at the bottom.

I wasn't planning on buying any lipstick that day, but I just have to have one! It looks like a lipstick for a princess—and I have that princess-complex when I was a kid. Haha!

So I did buy one but I chose a shade that I don't have yet in my stash.

Anyway, here are pictures of the box (which is also cute btw—it has a leathery texture and is colored metallic pink!):

So the shade I bought is Pink Plum. The lipsticks are available in 28 shades.

This tube is Php 695.00 but I got this at 20% off.

And it has a mild rosy scent... it's barely noticeable unless you actually place it close to your nose to smell it.

on my lips

It's purple—a very beautiful, pigmented purple! Suits the year 2014 because the color of the year is Radiant Orchid, which closely resembles the lippie's shade. It has a slightly glossy finish and unlike many of the lipsticks I tried from Korean brands, this doesn't pile up inside the lines of my lips. It also doesn't make the dry areas of the lips more obvious. I'm really liking how it looks on my lips. Texture is very silky that it glides easily on the lips.

The staying power of the lipstick is decent. It can probably last a good 3-4 hours with only little eating or drinking before retouching is needed. It doesn't dry the lips much which is a big plus for me.

I'm definitely loving this impulse purchase. The shade is very feminine, the look/packaging of the product is very beautiful, and the performance is good! I'll probably buy one again if I find a good shade the suits me that I don't have in my stash yet.

What are your thoughts on this Peripera lipstick shade, Pink Plum? Do you like the packaging too?
