Review : NYX HD Eye Shadow Base

Hello lovelies,

Since I love playing with eye shadows, it became important for me to find a good eye primer to bring out the best in the products I use.

I did a review last time on Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer. Since then I've gone out to try other ones. One of these is the NYX HD Eye Shadow Base

What the product says:

I don't like the packaging because it chips off easily.
The brush is also a doe foot applicator like the other ones I've used.
The NYX HD's staying power is the same as the other ones.
It was annoying at first because it's sticky when applied unlike the other ones that I have but dries quickly enough.

And here's the look I did without and with the primer on.

So what do I like about the product?
      • The pigments stick perfectly
      • Makes my eye shadows more long-lasting and vibrant
      • affordable at around Php330 (on Digital Traincase)
      • Creamy, easy to apply and spread
      • Dries in a considerable amount of time
What I don't like about the product :
      • The packaging
      • It's sticky when applied
      • Not locally available (I bought mine online)
The NYX HD Eye Shadow Base is a good eye primer. Although I still prefer my UDPP and Kryolan eye primers. :P

What do you think of NYX HD Eye Shadow Base? Have you tried it yet?

  1. Isa sa mga nagdadala ng product is the packaging whether we admit it or not. They should improve the print on the packaging.

Haven't tried this one but it looks interesting. Though, I guess, I'm sticking with my ELF primer. It does the job naman and it's the least expensive out there. I'm kuripot talaga. Hahahaha! :P

  2. Yes I have tried and am currently using this until I finish it up. I agree it's sticky!

  3. from the pic i can see it's alr sticky :/

  4. The stickiness is a turn-off talaga.

Gellie - haven't tried that one either. I have to finish this one and my EH pa eh. :P

  5. For the longest time, I didn't think an eyeshadow primer was necessary. Once I tried Urban Decay's, I was hooked. Now I can't wear eyeshadow without a primer.

  6. Same experience, Bonnie! I can't apply eyeshadow without a primer now and think it looks the same. :P
