Review : Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation

Hello dears!

Some months ago, there was this hype about this foundation from Maybelline that made me curious to try it out myself. I've read many positive reviews about it and I like the part that it gives a matte and poreless finish, good coverage, and it's affordable! At least, those are some of the qualities I was able to see in other reviews. So I got one for my own and see if these are true.

Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation

The 30ml bottle is PhP 399.00. It's housed in a glass bottle. You can easily see the shade because of the see-through, clear bottle. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a pump and it can be heavy (and fragile because it's glass) so it's not travel-friendly. But it's aesthetic is good and looks good standing with the rest of my cosmetics.

The shade I got is Warm Nude which compliments my skin tone well. What is good about the shade selection is that it comes in 40 shades so I think you can find the color that fits you or at least near your skin tone.

After reading the product description, it really looks like a foundation that I would like. This just made me more excited to use it.

So let's get on with the review!

My first impression is that you can barely smell any scent which is good. It's not too thick, it can even be runny if compared to my usual heavy-coveraged foundations.

Here's how it looks like.

Like I have mentioned, it doesn't have a pump so you just have to turn it over and weight for gravity to do its job. Haha! Controlling the amount can be tricky sometimes and I don't like transferring back the excess... Cuz... I'm maarte like that. Lol

When you mildly spread the product...

It's easy to spread because of its consistency. It doesn't dry out fast so you can blend it well. I find that using a beauty blender gives the best finish when applying the foundation.

When blended on skin, it does give a matte finish.

Here's a side by side comparison of my face without foundation and with the foundation.

It has a medium coverage that is also buildable. I like that it has a warm tone so it doesn't give a grey or pink finish. It feels lightweight too. The sets demi-matte, but I don't think that it gives a poreless finish unfortunately. So far, I haven't encountered any irritations nor did it cause any breakouts.

It can stay for around half a day without fading as long as I set it with powder. After that my face really gets shiny already. I don't think it has any oil control at all. Without powder, my face gets shiny within two hours.

I do notice that it can get cakey if you don't moisturize well, specially the areas that you build up the coverage. My face tends to get dehydrated, specially when I try to deal with acne and dark scars so those areas (chin and jaw area) tend to look patchy.

So to summarize...

What I LIKE:
- Locally available
- Affordable
- Lightweight
- Barely noticeable scent
- Demi-matte finish
- Packaging looks nice (but not travel friendly)
- Comes in 40 shades
- Warm Nude goes well with my skin (near my neck's shade)
- Easy to blend to skin
- Decent staying power
- Buildable coverage

What I DON'T LIKE:
- No pump for the bottle
- Can get cakey/patchy sometimes
- Doesn't really give a poreless finish

Would I buy again? I don't think so. I didn't fall in-love with it, sadly. It's a good drugstore and affordable brand and it's something that I'm just okay with. It didn't impress me so much and there's just more products for me to try out there. I'd only buy something again if it really impressed me or becomes an HG.

And that's my review! I hope this was helpful. I also have a review of the concealer from the same line. Check it out here

Cheers,

DAWN
