FOTD : A Pop of Blue

 Hello everyone.

I hope you are all doing fine.

The weather has been vicious even though it's not even a typhoon.

The amount of water generated by these heavy rains is already comparable to the infamous  Typhoon Ondoy last 2009.

We didn't have any electricity for 26 hours and the flood even got in our house which rarely happens. So to all of our readers, please stay safe and pray for better weather soon.

Anyway, to make the day a little less depressing,

I will share with you guys a look i sported a few days ago.

I was in the mood to play with my eye shadow and I just wanted a pop of color on my eyes.

I was already wearing blue so I went with that color.

 My current Facebook profile photo! Haha!

That's all for this FOTD post. I keep using bold lipsticks that I rarely play around with eye shadows lately. Quite happy with this look and even if the color blue is quite bold, I still do think it's quite wearable in a casual happy day. Haha!

FOTD: Pastel Love

Hey Ladies!

Been a while since I last posted an FOTD.

I know that spring is nearly coming to an end (and yes, I am aware that we don't have spring in the Philippines) but I just have to do a makeup using pastel colors since it is in-trend this season. Liz wanted to do it on her but we haven't gotten around to taking pics and all, plus she's in Canada right now and didn't bring much makeup with her... So I did the FOTD myself.

I like pastels but not on my face. I am more into the dramatic kind of makeup so I rarely wear any pastel colors.

My face looks odd in the photo. It's just that this is the most decent one in the bunch that you can clearly see the makeup. I was in a rush to take photos since I was going out to eat dinner with the family and they were already waiting for me.

FOTD: Peggy Carter Inpired Makeup

Hello Gorgeous!

A few days ago, I was busy the whole day working on the artworks for my thesis.

I was working late night and to avoid getting sleepy, I browsed my bro's downloaded movies so that I can watch while I work on my artworks. I had to pick a movie without much dialogue... something that I don't consider as a "thinking movie." So I ended up looking for movies that are in the action genre or superheroes and stuff... so that I don't need to concentrate on the movie and I could pay more attention to my artworks.

So I ended up watching "Captain America: The First Avenger" starring the super hot Chris Evans. :P

Also starring in the movie is Hayley Atwell (who also starred in one of the series I recently watched, Pillars of the Earth) who played the role Peggy Carter.

I keep noticing her perfectly applied lipstick throughout the film. Even in battle scenes where she's being a badass, her lipstick never got smudged! 

Which inspired me to copy her look!

And here's how my attempt turned out:

What I did:

I defined my eyebrows and made it fuller and thicker and then applied the eye shadows.

Apply a very thin black liner and then I applied the darkest shade of the quad on top of the liner to make it appear softer. Then I applied the brown eyeliner at the bottom part of my eyes and white liner on my waterline. Then curl the lashes and coat them with mascara.

Using the Pop Beauty Cheeky Cake in Beach Beauti, apply the bronzer to add contour and apply the peach side as blush.

And to complete the look, A SUPER red lipstick is applied!

I would have used our NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo so my lips would be as matte as the lips of Hayley in the movie but my sis has the tube with her! Haha! :P

FOTD: Our Attempt on K-Pop Makeup!

 Hello my Beautiful Readers!

I'm not really a fan of K-pop. I mean K-Pop is okay.

I really like how it sounds, the beats and the outfits! 

But I'm just more of a lyrics person. I like songs that I can somehow relate to. 

So since I don't speak Korean, I can't understand what the songs mean so I can't really appreciate the songs much.

But anyway, a few months ago, a friend of mine introduced me to this party music by G Dragon and T.O.P of Bigbang called, "High High." And just a few weeks ago, my friend, Liz, started dancing to that tune again and the song was stuck in my head for a while which led to youtube-ing the song and the other songs in the same album. Talk about a serious case of LSS (Last Song Syndrome).

I'm actually quite familiar with Bigbang since around last year, we did listened to a few of their music as well as the songs of 2NE1 (They came from the same company, YG). 

My brother loves music so he introduces different songs every now and then.

And since I've been listening to Bigbang, it's almost inevitable not to listen to a 2NE1 song. We saw the "I'm the Best" Video (I've seen this before but my sis hasn't so I let her watch it) and we were in awe after seeing their makeup!

So we attempted to try their makeup. 

I think all it takes are really, really, REALLY good eyeliners!

 and here's what my attempt turned out.

 I was trying Bom's eye makeup because she dresses the "girliest" out of all the members. ♥
I wonder what eyeliners they use on her... it's soooo black!

Although in my look, I made it smokey silver unlike the picture of Bom above.

 Here's what my eyes look like when it's semi open. I wish I had false eyelashes with me when I did this look. :P

Pink Beauty Collection / October is Pink Month!

Erica of The Glamorous Gleam sent an email five days ago, informing us that October is National Breast cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to increasing awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection. The topic is close to our hearts, especially since our mom was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer in 2007. This was a very difficult stage in our family life, since our father has passed away when we were very young and our mom has always been the breadwinner. Back then, I (Tracy) just graduated college and Dawn was  just a sophomore, and our brother still in highschool.  But after almost a year of chemotherapy and countless medicines, she's now cancer-free! Today, she's living one of her dreams and is currently on a two-week long trip at the Holy Land (Jordan, Israel and Egypt)!

Want to know more? On a serious note, Erica states further that: 

The most common signs of breast cancer are a lump in the breast, abnormal thickening of the breast or a change in color or shape. You should perform a self breast exam at least once a month and report any abnormal findings to your health care provider. If you are 40 and over, you should regularly be getting a mammogram. Although breast cancer affects predominately women, men can also develop this illness so fellas pay attention to changes in your breast area as well.
