FOTD: Pastel Love

Hey Ladies!

Been a while since I last posted an FOTD.

I know that spring is nearly coming to an end (and yes, I am aware that we don't have spring in the Philippines) but I just have to do a makeup using pastel colors since it is in-trend this season. Liz wanted to do it on her but we haven't gotten around to taking pics and all, plus she's in Canada right now and didn't bring much makeup with her... So I did the FOTD myself.

I like pastels but not on my face. I am more into the dramatic kind of makeup so I rarely wear any pastel colors.

Anyway, here's my FOTD:

FACE:

Missha M Shiny B.B Cream
Missha The Style Silky Soft Foundation in No. 2
Etude House Surprise Essence Concealer
Tony Moly Baby Doll Pot Concealer in Shade 2 Natural Beige
Fanny Serrano Two Way Cake in Chino

EYES:

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Brown
Etude House Color My Brows in 3
Dollface Cosmetics 88 pcs Eye Shadow Palette
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Wet 'N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in White
Wet 'N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in Amethyst
T. Le Clerc Paris Eye Pencil (cant remember which shade)
In2It Liquid Eyeliner in Dark Violet
Nichido Gorgeous Eye Pencil in Pink Diamond

CHEEKS:

The Body Shop Rose Flower Blush
Etude House Face Color Corset in #3 Lavender Veil Finish

LIPS:
Chanel Rouge Coco in Magnolia

Here's a very closed-up picture of the whole look:

My face looks odd in the photo. It's just that this is the most decent one in the bunch that you can clearly see the makeup. I was in a rush to take photos since I was going out to eat dinner with the family and they were already waiting for me.

So what do you think of pastels on my face?
Should I wear more pastels?

Cheers,
DAWN

EOTD : Irreels

 Hey girls!

Today's been a busy day for me.
Did 2 creative makeovers today. I haven't had the time to edit some of the photos yet so I haven't posted any of them yet. But I will soon!

For now I will leave you with an EOTD post.

I am guilty of buying so many eye shadow palettes and lippies since December.
One of the eye shadow palettes I've bought is the Chanel 4 Ombres Eye Colour Collection in Irreels (where I got the title of this post from).

Been using this a lot since it's very wearable and easy to blend together. I've been doing my makeup in a hurry nowadays because of all the events and errands I go to. :P

See how well blended they are? I didn't even use a blending brush for this!
The shadows' shimmer are very fine too!

I complete the eye makeup with Dollface Gel liner in black and Max Factor's False Lash Effect Mascara. :)

How do you like this EOTD?

FOTD : Because I'm Feeling Mod

 Hey gorgeous!

Here's the FOTD post I was supposed to publish yesterday.

I was out with the family at BGC to celebrate my mom's birthday.

Because of all the hype with bold, matte lipsticks, I've forgotten to use most of my pale lippies. I actually have quite a number of them because I really liked doing smokey makeup.
So yesterday, I explored my makeup stash again and used the palest gloss I have and partnered it with a sexy cat eye liner. No smokey eyes for this one. Just all mod. I used white eyeshadow and some brown ones to add "depth" to my eyes. Too bad I didn't have falsies when I did this cuz they would have added a little more 'umph' to the look!

 MAKEUP USED:

FACE:

Etude House Dr. Oil Solution Anti-Shine Dual Primer
Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup in 40 Beige
San San Age Defense 2 Way Cake in 01
Ever Bilena Mousse Concealer in Pure Beige
E.L.F. Under Eye Concealer & Highlighter

EYES:

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer
Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in Brown
Etude House Color My Brows in 3
Dollface Cosmetics 88 pcs Eye Shadow Palette
Dollface Gel Liner in Black
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara
Wet 'N Wild ColorIcon Eyeliner in White
Idol Eyes Creme Shadow Pencil in 130 Pixie

CHEEKS:

CoverGirl (I forgot the shade)
Benefit Georgia

LIPS:
MAC Viva Glam Lipglass in Gaga 2

And here are other vain pics I took...

I feel like it works perfectly with the new bangs and my 'doll-like' curls as Liz calls them. I liked the look so much that I will probably do more mod looks for the next few days. Haha.

What do you think of this FOTD? Should it stay or should I stick with colorful ones?

Cheers,
DAWN

Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in 67 Rose Tourbillon

Hey guys!

Before my sis left for Australia, she bought a few more makeup to bring with her.
One of those is this...

Chanel Joues Poudre Powder Blush in 67 Rose Tourbillon

Between the two of us, she wears pink more. She's been wanting to buy this for weeks before she finally decided to get it. And she was so glad she did.
Before she left, I asked to take pictures to share the swatches to all of you. ♥

Here's the box and the product.
It's Chanel so it still looks very classy as ever.

*The product is also available in 15 shades!

More information on the product:
Eeeep at the price! Hahaha!

It includes a little brush. I still prefer my own blush brush when I apply this but this brush is softer than most of the brushes that come along with a blush product.

Here's a closeup of the blush.
A very light, warm pink shade.
It has the signature rose scent of Chanel.

Swatch on my arm
The shade is a very soft pink with very minimal shimmer.
The texture of the powder is very fine and lasts a decent amount of time on our oily skin.

Here's a before and after shot of my sis' cheeks. The left pic is without the blush and the right is with blush.
The finish is very subtle and gives your skin a soft pink glow.

Chanel Lipsticks in Magnolia, Insolente and Adorable

 Hey girls!

Have you ever had the urge to just buy high-end products just so you can have some?
I have. I've bought quite a few recently in the past few months.
Some of these are these Chanel Lipsticks and here's a swatch post about them.

I know I could have bought like 4 or more NYX lipsticks for the price of one of these lipsticks. But I just can't help it. I really want to try these out. I was curious to know how they perform and they just look so pretty!

Just look how beautiful their packaging are! Very classy!

The first time I tried one of these lipsticks, I fell in-love with it!
The lipsticks smell so good -- very rosy which is one of my favorite scents!

So here are some swatches for each lipstick:

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick in Magnolia

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Insolente

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Adorable

 Lovely, aren't they? ♥
The staying power of the lippies depends on the colors -- the darker the color, the longer it stays.
Although some of my more affordable lipsticks stay longer... I don't mind reapplying it... It's nice to carry around an expensive lipstick. Haha! Makes me feel extra special. :P

So what do you think of Chanel Lipsticks?

Review : Chanel Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup

My sis and I are very particular with our foundations.
Not being blessed with flawless skin made us prefer foundations with heavy coverage.
Although we both think that our HG foundation is MAC Studio Fix Liquid Foundation, we still try out other brands.

One of these is

weighs 30ml / 1 FL.OZ
has SPF 15

What the product says:

A silky and comfortable texture for a matte, slightly powdery and radiant makeup result, all day long. The fluid formula of MAT LUMIÈRE blends delicately into the skin. Fine, porous and spherical particles of silica powder provide a matte finish. Shiny areas are mattified and the radiance of the face is revealed. Coated pigments conceal imperfections with an optical effect, leaving the complexion wonderfully even and radiant for enhanced beauty. The polymers in the formula optimise hold and ensure a matte complexion.

How to use:

For a natural finish, dab onto the entire face and blend in with fingertips, using small circular movements, from the center of the face outwards. For a more sophisticated finish, apply with the FOUNDATION BRUSH by CHANEL.

It is a pump bottle which I really like because it's more hygienic and easier to use.

The formula is very creamy and feels light on the skin and the scent is nice.

It blends well and it really is mattifying! Although this shade is slightly darker for me. It's closer to my sis' skin tone.

Shots of my cheek with and without the foundation

It has a medium coverage. That being said, we aren't crazy about it. Although you can layer it for heavier coverage.
Unlike other matte foundations, this doesn't make your face look cakey-flat.
Although it's mattifying, it doesn't control my face's oiliness so my face gets all shiny after a few hours.
Another thing I noticed is the staying power isn't as long lasting as I wished it would be. After a day in school, most of my dark spots are already visible. Even with primer on.

So what do I like about it:
  • Natural Finish
  • Mattifying without making your face looking flat
  • Feels light on skin
  • Blends smoothly and easily on skin
  • Smells nice
  • The shades aren't too beigey nor yellowish
  • It's a pump bottle!
  • Packaging is chic
  • Has SPF 15

What I don't like about it:
  • My face becomes all shiny after a few hours
  • Lasting power isn't as long as the foundations I've been using
  • Price is high for a student like me
  • Few shades are available
  • We prefer heavier coverage

That's it! Hope you find this review helpful!
