We're happy to let everyone know that because of the overwhelming generosity of two popular brands in the Philippines, the Peachy Pink Sisters felt all pampered on October 8 2010 (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. Annapolis Greenhills.
Why? Because we got to try The Body Shop's Rainforest Hair Care under the care of the stylists of Ystilo Salon!
This is our first invitation, and we're very very happy and impressed!
Obviously, The Body Shop is well-loved in our blog. We've been purchasing and repurchasing from the brand for many years now, and are members of the official Love Your Body! TBS Facebook Fan Page even before this event. Ystilo Salon, on the other hand, is our to-go salon near our place. We frequent the SM San Lazaro branch, where we always have the stylist Joji take care of our once-every-two-months of trimming.
So put both of them together, and voila! Happy bloggers =)
Dawn: Here's the shot of me on the chair, propped and ready! You can see the Eco-Conscious Rainforest Hair Care Range, together with the lovely wooden brushes, magazines and iced tea.
Because my hair is colored and permed with dry ends, they tried four items on me:
Rainforest Moisture Shampoo
Rainforest Moisture Conditioner
Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
Rainforest Radiance Detangling Spray for Colored Hair
Result? Overall the experience was great (gosh, I realized them my hair actually needs a lot of pampering), but the only problem's that since my hair is permed, the curls were weighed down with all the supermoisturizing loads of products! It did not look flattering =( Texture-wise though, I could really tell the difference in terms of softness and smoothness. And the smell is just heavenly!
Needless to say, there were a lot of positive things I discovered the next day:
1. The scent's soooooooo good it lasted till the morning;
2. My hair had less frizz and seemed healthier after re-washing it!
3. When I styled the hair myself (using Finesse Self-Adjusting and Self-Defining Mousse and TBS Rainforest Radiance Detangling Spray for Colored Hair), the curls looked gorgeous!
Trace: I have short and rebonded hair that's relatively healthy (not colored - i have intense black hair), so these are the variants used on me:
Rainforest Shine Shampoo
Rainforest Shine Conditioner
Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
Rainforest Radiance Detangling Spray for Colored Hair
When girls in love with beauty and everything kikay come together, they usually just TALK A LOT. The entire time I was there I chatted with everyone and almost forgot being observant about the entire treatment process! But heck, after my hair was rinsed and conditioned, I couldn't help but shut up, because I was assaulted by the best kind of shampoo/treatment smell ever! The smell's so... clean and fresh and lovely. Not fruity nor flowery... but like a deep-sea mineral scent.
Obviously, the treatment was spectacular on my hair. You can see how shiny it is after a quick blow-dry!
There you have it! Thank you to The Body Shop's Billie Laboro-Palabyab (PR) and Rozanne Salcedo (Marketing) for inviting us. Cheers also to bloggers Jill of Kikay Exchange (so nice to see you again!) and MM of ChuvaCosmo!
For now, my sister and I are trying out The Body Shop Eco-Conscious Rainforest Moisture (shampoo and conditioner) and Balance (shampoo) variants, and we'll review them after we've finished the bottles!
Cheers,
Trace and Dawn

Pammy - Yesss! Maganda siya, in fairness :) The shampoo and conditioner combo make the hair very shiny (as in insane shiny) and great-smelling. Doesn't control hair regrowth (i have rebonded hair that's due for retouch coz it grows super fast) but it makes the styling/ironing easy.
ReplyDeleteMM - Definitely! Would love to see you next time!!! =)
MrsMartinez - Yes, super duper fun pala!!!! =) I hope I can meet you soon, big fan of your super diverse blog.
Oops comment above is from me, Tracy.
