Give Your Body a Beautiful Glow from Within with Vida Glow!
Hey everyone!
Majority of my posts are about makeup reviews. While I love enhancing the natural beauty and encourage creativity by playing with all the makeup we can apply, it's always best to take care of our body first.
The first step in a work of art is finding the perfect canvas! To achieve this, I research what kind of products that work best with my hair and skin concerns and apply them. But that shouldn't stop there... what we take into our body also contributes on what we look and feel so we better eat food and drink the liquids that are good for the body!
To get better results, there are products that promises to help boost substances that retain our youthful glow like collagen. One of which is Vida Glow!

What is Vida Glow? I asked the same thing when their co-founder, Anna, wrote me an email if I would like to review their product. As I was reading their Media Look Book, it made me curious (and very much interested) to try it out. Why? Then read all about it below [these info (in maroon color) are what was included in the media look book]:

I received the package a long time ago. I think around eight months... there was actually a delay in claiming my parcel in the post office. They even made me pay the fine since I didn't claim it sooner. How could I if they didn't notify me right away? Ugh. Anyway, that was a long time ago... And I want to apologize for not being able to blog about this sooner since I've been very busy with work, school, and even diet. I also waited for a couple of months of drinking before I can write my thoughts to be able to give an honest review.
The package that I was given contained two flavors—the Original and Pineapple.
My initial thoughts when I saw the products? The lovely packaging! I love the design! It looks so neat, charming, beautiful, and it has a feeling of nature as well. The cylindrical box feels light and it contains the sachet of the powdered drinks.
I like that it's in sachet form so I can take them with me anywhere I go. Since I've been traveling more than usual, I really appreciate this. It also looks great so I never feel any embarrassment whenever I take it out of my bag when I mix it to my drink.
The color depends on the flavor you have. What are the flavors? Well, see below the varieties. These are also from the media kits that they provided:

I especially loved the pineapple just because I really find the flavor really yummy. Plus, whenever I apply Vitamin C, my skin just looks and feels better! The original flavor is unscented, but I can't say that it's tasteless... I find something that reminds me of sea food. I can't really point it out, but it's not bad. I just can't describe it better with my limited english vocabulary. :P
Anyway, before I share my final thoughts on the drinks I tried, here are the benefits that Vida Glow claims to give from their media look book:

I drink Vida Glow at least once a day, but usually I drink 2 cups containing 3g / 1 sachet for each cup. I drink it with water, sometimes I mix it with yogurt or juice. I've been taking it for more than two months now. So what have I noticed so far?
My hair looks healthier—stronger!
I suffered from damaged hair when I exposed my hair to chemicals such as hair coloring and perming over and over. My hair became brittle and I also experienced hair fall. I abstained from all the chemicals... well, I did color my hair once last January after a long while. Haha! I do apply hot oil once a week and also apply some leave on conditioner whenever I go out.
I also noticed that my hair grew faster. I cut my hair last December and since then, it grew another 4-5 inches. Faster than usual.
My skin looks brighter!
I didn't notice much at first but after a month or so, I find my skin looks brighter than before, like it's glowing! It's not free of my acne problems, but when I wake up and look at the mirror, it just looks better, healthier!
My skin retains moisture better!
What I love most is that it kept my skin's moisture, even when I was in Japan during winter and going out between -4 to 5 degrees celsius everyday. It didn't feel itchy and dry compared to when I went to New York almost three years ago (it wasn't even cold then) and my skin just got so dry.
These are the changes I've seen so far. I cannot comment on the nails part because I always think that I have good, strong nails. I rarely get manicures from salons. I don't remove cuticle and I rarely file and buff my nails.
I also can't comment much on the muscle repair and toning as well as on the preservation of bone and joints. I think I'm still pretty young at twenty seven. I don't experience muscle pain much and I rarely get sick (twice a year at most and they are often colds).
I would love to continue drinking Vida Glow to see if there are more benefits to gain. The extra collagen boost really makes a difference as long as you aid it with proper diet and good hair and skin care! ;)

Yves Rocher Reparation Hair Repair Oil
Hey guys!
Suffering from frizzy, dry hair? I used to. My hair has been damaged from all the chemicals it was exposed to. I stopped perming my hair for around two years now and I only colored my hair recently after a long while. I decided to give my hair better care so that my problems with it being frizzy and weak would be solved and also lessen hairfall.
One of the products that I used is the...
Yves Rocher Reparation Hair Repair Oil
I got this for free after I bought two shampoos from the brand (each shampoo was around PhP 500). I think you can get this 150ml bottle for around PhP 600-700.00. I'll update this post when I get the exact price.
Below is the product description from the labels:
And from the website:
Exceptionnal care for gorgeous hair.
Discover this genuine exceptional treatment! Enriched with restorative Babassu Oil and Macadamia Oil to nourish the scalp, this concentrate of rich oils offers strength* to the hair.
Result: the hair is ultra soft and shiny.
- Paraben free, colorant free, silicone free
JOJOBA OIL FOR ITS NOURISHING AND PROTECTIVE QUALITIES
Sometimes called desert gold, jojoba is stunningly rich. Yves Rocher Laboratories have selected the oil from organic jojoba seeds for its nourishing and protective qualities.
This oil is silicone free to treat the hair fibre without weighing it down and is tested under dermatological supervision. More than 99% natural ingredients.
How To: Apply twice a week to dry hair before using your shampoo, concentrating on the entire length of hair.
Leave on for 10 minutes.
Wash hair..
Ingredients: helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, ethylhexyl cocoate, brassica campestris (rapeseed) seed oil, ricinus communis (castor) seed oil, simmondsia chinensis (jojoba) seed oil, borago officinalis seed oil, orbignya oleifera seed oil, macadamia ternifolia seed oil, parfum/fragrance, tocopherol, oleth-10
The product is oil and I use it as instructed. The fragrance is quite strong, but I really like how it smells so that's no biggie. I like the packaging—the bottle size, the design, and how it is dispensed (there's just a small hole and you shake the product off and small amounts of the oil goes out so you can control the amount you get easily).
So what do I think of it?
I like it. I really like it. Whenever I use this, my hair is shiny and smooth. It's not as soft as when I use some products with silicone, but what's important is how healthy my hair looks when I use this together with the shampoo and conditioner. The frizz lessened a lot and my hair looks shiny! It exceeded my expectations!
I do have to watch out on how much I put on because I already have an oily scalp. I could still wash it off with shampoo though. And sometimes I leave it on for more than 10 minutes. I don't really see any difference if I have it on longer, but I just mention it in case you are wondering. Haha!
I'm happy that I accidentally discovered this product and I will probably buy again once I run out. It will take a while though because I've only used 1/4 of the bottle and I've had this for five months.
Have you tried the Yves Rocher Reparation Hair Repair Oil yet?
Cheers,
DAWN

Klorane Mango Oil
Hello dears!
It's been a while since I got a haircut and I've been planning on getting one soon. There are just some things that's been happening that I had to postpone my plans. For now, I had to deal with my dry, frizzy, damaged ends with products to make them feel and look hydrated. I usually use leave-on conditioners or hair oils for that.
So when I went to Sydney to visit my sister, she recommended I try this...
Klorane Mango Oil
I bought it for AU $22.95.
At the back of the bottle, you'll see the product description as well as the directions for use:
I bought it for AU $22.95.
At the back of the bottle, you'll see the product description as well as the directions for use:
Info from the website:
Nourishes and protects dry and sun-exposed hair
Leaves hair silky and radiant
Waterproof formula
No silicones, sulfates, parabens or sodium chloride
HOW TO USE
Spray dry or towel-dried hair. Can be used daily to repair dry, damaged hair or for protection before sun exposure.
Ingredients:
SD ALCOHOL 39-C, ISODECYL NEOPENTANOATE, ISODODECANE, ETHYLHEXYL METHOXYCINNAMATE, WATER, BHT, CITRAL, CITRONELLOL, COUMARIN, FRAGRANCE, GERANIOL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, MANGIFERA INDICA (MANGO) SEED BUTTER.
I'm glad my sister recommended this because it works very well with my thin hair strands. The oil is very light that it doesn't drag my hair down. The finish doesn't make my hair look greasy as well. Check the before and after photos below for reference.
My hair after I combed it without the product
My hair with the product
I applied two sprays of the product and massaged it evenly on the ends of my hair. It reduced the frizz and made my hair shinier while still retaining its volume and softness.
It also smells amazing! You can really smell the sweet mango. Yummm!
To summarize, it keeps my hair soft, shiny, and pretty. I love that it's weightless and that it smells really good. I use it on the ends of my hair and can apply it on dry or towel dried hair. The price might be too much for some but since you only need one or two sprays, it will definitely last a long while.
All in all, I really like it!
So what do you think of the Klorane Mango Oil?
Cheers,

Schwarzkopf Bonacure Hairtherapy: Repair Rescue Conditioner
Good evening ladies,
This will be my last review of the Schwarzkopf trio which I bought when I had my hair dyed purple. I've previously reviewed the sulfate-free shampoo and the hair-mousse like conditioner in the middle. So the last will be the small sized conditioner, Repair Rescue.
Packaging:
I don't really like the packaging for the shampoo and the conditioner. The top heavy design does nothing to the product's appeal. The plastic of the bottles are too hard for me to be able to squeeze every last drop of product out of it; additionally, the roundness also adds to my difficulty to cut the bottle in half (again for the purpose of getting every last bit of product out of it). The lid covers, in contrast are made out of thin plastic and break easily. I dropped the shampoo and now the lid's joint is loose.
Product Consistency:
The product is quite light and does not leave a filmy kind-of sticky residue on your hands after application. However, when applied on hair, it does little to de-tangle my somewhat hard, wet hair, and does not feel anything like a conditioner.
Performance:
When I chose to buy this instead of the sulfate-free conditioner, I was told that this product was used for women with rebonded hair as rebond is very damaging hence assuring me that this was the closest to a hair salon treatment for my hair. I was also given instructions to ensure that I let the product stay for not more than five minutes or else it'll leave my hair hard. Unfortunately, despite following such instructions, I find that this conditioner fails in conditioning my hair. I was disappointed to find out that this expensive conditioner could not even deliver results that a cheaper conditioner could.
Price:
I think the full size will cost around Php 1,000.
In summary:
I do not recommend buying into the temptation of these promo products next time you're in a salon. I guess Schwarzkopf are just not compatible with my hair since they haven't performed well for me; even their hair dyes don't stick as long. With it's poor performance, it's better to stick with cheaper conditioners for your treated hair.
I hope this has helped you a little in deciding whether to go for that promo deal the next time you're asked to buy your salon's products. Do share with me if you had the same or different experience using Schwarzkopf brands.
Cheers,
LIZ

Have a Hagod-Worthy Hair With Palmolive Naturals Cream Conditioner
Hey dearies!
Just a couple of days ago I received this beautiful package...
The box itself will heighten anyone's curiosity with its elegant look and the text "Discover the Change." Even my mom wanted to know as to what the box's content was when she saw it, but opted to wait for me to open it.
When I opened it, I saw this...
I saw three cream conditioners from Palmolive Naturals and of course, their beautiful ambassador, Ms. Megan Young!
If you look close at the variants, you'll see that all three conditioners aim to improve the state of straight hair, which is awesome because my hair is currently straight and long... well, my hair tends to have big waves but it's mostly straight. :P
The package includes a press release regarding the products, and the packaging's new look:
Achieve Hagod-Worthy
Hair
With Palmolive Naturals Cream Conditioner
For some, it may seem like a
mere habit. But for most women, hagod is
a sign of confidence—a gesture that implies she is in control and ready to
take on whatever is in front of her. It shows that she is comfortable with
herself and how she looks. The hagod is
an expression of a great hair day.
With hair that’s silky
straight, doing the hagod becomes a natural,
unconscious tendency for women. Stroking it from root to tip becomes a pleasurable
and irresistible experience that is satisfying to do over and over.
As Palmolive Girl Megan
Young puts it, “My hair is silky straight, I can’t stop doing the hagod!”
Now with its fresh new
look, Palmolive Naturals Silky Straight Cream Conditioner makes it possible to
have silky straight hair that’s hagod-ready
throughout the day*. Its formula, infused with micro-moisturizers,
penetrates deep into hair making it 8x straighter**.
It’s time to make the
switch to Palmolive Naturals Silky Straight Cream Conditioner. For silky straight
hair, choose the right conditioner and do the hagod!
Share your Palmolive Hagod on www.facebook.com/PalmoliveNaturals and use the hashtags #PalmoliveCreamConditioner
Have a great hair day!
* when used
with Palmolive Naturals Shampoo & Conditioner vs. non-conditioning shampoo
** when
used with Palmolive Naturals Shampoo & Conditioner vs. non-conditioning
shampoo; when blow-dried
I usually have my hair around shoulder length to maybe 4 inches long from my shoulder. Now my hair is longer, almost mid way from shoulders to spine. My hair stylist said that I look good with long hair so I try to maintain it for as long as I can. Unfortunately, having long hair can be a challenge to maintain. My hair gets weaker and I also get frizz. I try to apply hot oil weekly to make it smoother and healthier but I also need daily conditioning.
Good thing this package was sent to me so I can try products that is hiyang to my hair. I saw the purple variant that's for Frizzy/Wavy hair and I just thought that it's PERFECT for me. It aims to make hair silky and straight.
I've used it for the past two days and this is what my hair looks like.
Frizziness lessened! (I'm at the office there and yes, we do have some stuffed toys lying around LOL)
I think I'll use this one next, which is for Normal Hair, for maintenance because it focuses on making the hair healthy and smooth.
Ugh! I also think this one will be good for my hair since it's for dry/coarse hair. My hair isn't like that, but my hair did get damaged when I had it colored. It's intensive moisturizing qualities will help with that.
Palmolive Naturals actually has other variants so do check them out. If you have the same hair concerns as me, then the three products mentioned in this article might be the ones you should consider trying out. I'll update the post when I've tried all three conditioners! :)
Cheers,
