Review : Ciracle Anti-Blemish Teatree Wash

Hi loves!

The traffic is getting worse and worse nowadays...
I'm one of the few people who are fortunate enough to live near my workplace so I don't have to endure the horrible traffic daily. I do know many who do and I can't even imagine how tired one must feel when they finally get home after hours of getting stuck in traffic.

In a different situation, I've experienced being so tired due to lack of sleep and tight deadlines that I just want to crash on my bed and sleep the whole week. BUT there is one thing that is very, very important to me that I have to gather all my remaining energy and fight all the tiredness and temptation to hug my pillows to sleep just so I can do it and that is to cleanse my skin.

No matter how tired you are, keep your skin clean. With all the pollution and dirt we encounter everyday, germs will surely cause unfavorable things to us like allergic reactions or pimples. I made cleansing a habit and I think everyone can develop that too. If I'm too tired and can't take a shower anymore, I get a damp towel and just wipe away.

It's also important to clean the face really well since it's the most exposed part of our body. I also use makeup and I have oily skin so dirt really sticks to my face which lead to breakouts. Besides using a makeup remover, I also use a good facial wash to completely rid of all the dirt and makeup off my face. I make sure that when I apply my toner, there's no trace of these on my cotton pad. Right now I am using the Ciracle Absolute Deep Cleansing Oil to remove my makeup and then use this afterwards...

Ciracle Anti-Blemish Teatree Wash
PhP 990.00

This was actually sent to me for review along with the Deep Cleansing Oil. They've since been a tandem in keeping my face clean when I get home.

When I received the product back in September, seeing as that it's anti-blemish made me excited about it. I have acne-prone skin so this is something I would definitely check out if ever I were to browse their stores. Facial wash is a product that is a must for me so finding a good one is important and I trust Ciracle when it comes to skin care because I have used quite a number of products from them that I've really loved.

So far, I've been using this for a month and I will share with you my review later on in this post.

First, let's see the product description and its claims...

As one degree of skin temperature rises, sebum creation increase by 10~20%.
Teatree wash completesly cleanse out the pores while leaving adequate amount of moisture on skin.

It comes in this clear pump plastic bottle. I like my skincare with simple designs because it gives me the impression of cleanliness. The pump makes dispensing easier and you can control the amount you get very well.

The scent is not noticeable actually. No citrusy, floral, nor herby scent. The consistency is pretty much like liquid soaps but not as creamy. When rubbed with water, it foams up well.

I usually use this with a facial cleansing brush and massage it on my face and rinse it off with lukewarm water. I do have to say that I sort of do not follow the instructions all the time... massaging my face with the cleanser for 10 minutes takes too long for me so sometimes I rinse it off within 2-5 minutes. :P

I've been using it for a month now and I'm satisfied with its performance. It cleanses my face from dirt and the remaining makeup that my makeup remover missed. It got rid of excess oil very well but still kept my skin well-hydrated (for an anti-blemish wash, that's something good since it doesn't strip your face from all the oils that can dry up the face).

But did it help get rid of my acne? Well, so far I can't really be 100% sure that it did help... You see, before I used this product, it was days before I had my period and my skin was all crazy with all the breakouts. I've never experienced that kind of breakout before. But after my period, and this was the time that I've been using this, the acne appearance lessened and the ones I had healed rather quickly. Do take note that I use other anti-acne products so the healing and prevention can't all be credited to this but I could say that this might have helped in the process. My skin is back to normal with occasional pimple appearance every now and then.

And to summarize...

What I LIKE:

- Effectively cleans my face from excess oil, dirt, and traces of makeup
- Doesn't dry my face
- I believe it somehow helped in healing and preventing breakouts
- Barely noticeable scent
- One pump is enough
- Locally available
- Packaging

What I DON'T LIKE
- The price is a bit steep for me for a cleansing wash

Do I recommend it? Yes. I think the product is worth a try, especially to those with similar skin types as me. :)

And that's my review! If you're interested to learn more about Ciracle, you can visit their website and Facebook Page. :)

FOTD: No Make-up Make-up look + Review: Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape

Hello!

I think I have never posted an FOTD before which I did on myself. This one is just an easy make-up look since this year's summer is not very kind to our make-ups. Also, I decided to include a short review on Josie Maran's Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape.

So to start of, here's my bare face. So for my face, I have a number of sunspots and pimple marks, and basically some patches of light and dark.

Since I am not a big fan of using foundations on an ordinary day or as an everyday make-up base, I usually use BB creams and for this look, The Body Shop's Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream was a good choice. My usual BB cream of choice is actually not this one but since it's a new purchase and I haven't really used it yet, I thought it perfect for a test run. Dawn however, has done an extensive review of the product and you can read about that by clicking the product's name above.

Make-ups used:
Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream
Lancome MAQUICOMPLET Complete Coverage Concealer (not in picture)
Skin Food Black Bean Eye Brow Pencil in #3 (not in picture)
Estee Lauder Graphic Color Eyeshadow in Ravishing Auburn-01-Accent
Tarte Emphaseyes Inner Rim Brightener (not in picture)
CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Blasting Mascara
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee in Pink Escape

Since Dawn's review was done during the rainy days, I think it would be apt that I share my summer day experience with the product. I totally agree with Dawn's review however, I found that the product does not stand up so well in hot weather; it does not stick well to the skin once you start sweating. To make it last, you really have to powder every so often, just a light dab of powder to help it settle.

So here's my face without blush. :)

So onto my mini review.

Here's the cheek gelee.

A little info on this product. It's called coconut watercolor since it is a coconut water-infused cheek gelee and does not contain parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. According to the product info from Sephora.com, this is what it does:

This buildable, blendable blush hybrid provides the natural look of a cream blush with the long-lasting hydrating color of a gel stain. Infused with 50 percent pure coconut water, it instantly hydrates while nourishing with the powerful benefits of vitamin E-rich argan oil. Like a refreshing sip of coconut water for your skin, this moisture-packed blush instantly drenches cheeks in a cool veil of color.

Ingredients:
-Coconut Water: Cools and rehydrates skin, providing essential electrolyte replenishment.
-Argan Oil: Nourishes and hydrates skin.
Water**, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Fruit Juice**, Glycerin, Isopropyl Isostearate**, Cetearyl Alcohol**, Isostearyl Hydroxystearate**, Methyl Gluceth-20**, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Ceteareth-20**, Butylene Gycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil*, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA. May Contain: Red 40 (CI 16035), Red 27 (CI 45410), Yellow 6 (CI 15985), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 33 (CI 17200), Blue 1 (CI 42090).

It comes in 6 colors for the standard size (0.18 oz) and in two colors for the travel size (0.095 oz). It promises 14 hours of color and skin hydration.

The one I have is the travel size, however - although I am a fan of travel sized make-ups - I'm not all that crazy about it's packaging since it's a little hard to scoop up the product with your fingers if you have long nails. Although that can be solved by having popsicle sticks/make-up spatulas on hand but still for those that do not have such things, its an issue.

Here it is swatched on my hand. To get this color I did not blend it out that much but this product is really easy to blend out and is build-able. I have a little hygiene issue with it, since it is buildable, and you basically apply it with your fingers, the pigments from your fingers kind of mix in with the product, and you end up with a not very attractive looking product. And well, when you have it on the go... it's hard keeping it really clean looking. So the trick to it is... make that once you put it on, you won't need to reapply.

The product does promise 14 hours of color, so while you're still at home with your make-up spatulas, build it up as much as you can (to your desired color of course) so you won't need to scoop it out with your fingers once you feel like it's faded out.

Here's my face with the product on. I tried to put only a thin layer of it so I just look a little flushed and to just get that healthy glow on the face rather than making my cheeks stand out. It looks really subtle and in this picture, as if I did not put any at all.

So I had this look for a whole day until 8 in the evening a total of 12 hours. I did have to reapply the blush after 8 hours since I kept blotting my face cause of the oiliness. But this blush definitely makes it to one of my go to products for lazy days.

Unfortunately, this product is only available in Sephora, so it's not available locally. But you can go on ahead and purchase it online, or have your relatives, or friends who're travelling abroad buy it for you if you like it.

So what do you think of this look? It's a pretty lazy make-up look and I do think it's perfect for this summer weather. Just switch the BB cream to something with more oil control and spf or apply a primer with oil control and spf and you're good to go.

Cheers,
LIZ

A Month with The Body Shop's Tea Tree Skincare Range

Hey lovelies!

It's skincare talk again. I have mentioned before my fixation on taking care of my skin better. I began focusing on skincare last year because I have been dealing with my troubled skin for more than a decade now and I just want to clear my skin as much as I can (afford) because I am very tired of using concealer and hiding my skin. I have experimented with different brands and products and I have shared the good ones and some bad ones. Even though I have tried good ones, I'm still looking for those that suit my skin better. I am still willing to try products that look promising.

I was approached by someone from The Body Shop and asked me if I was willing to try and review their Tea Tree range. This line is catered for those with blemished skin like me so I immediately agreed to do it. I have tried almost all of the products from the line but not at the same time. I have mostly good reviews on them so what more if I use them altogether right?

So for the past month, I have been using these products from The Body Shop...

What you can expect from these six products are the cooling sensation that feels so refreshing on skin. The tea tree scent also gives you that very clean feeling (I dunno if you like the tea tree scent but I'm just a fan of it). Anyway, I will show you later what my bare face looked like every week, but before that, here are the products and my quick thoughts about them:

Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub (review here)
Tea Tree Cool and Creamy Wash (review here)

These are the products I use to cleanse my face. I use the scrub twice-thrice a week every morning while for other days, I use the cool and creamy wash.

Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner

I use this twice a day, every morning and evening. I love this toner because it feels so refreshing! Whenever I use this, I feel like my skin is super clean. After cleansing and then applying this, when I look at my cotton pad, it shows how well the products clean your face after a long day of wearing makeup.

For those pesky zits, I use the Tea Tree Oil to help tame the inflammation and quickly get rid of the pimples. Even though it's categorized as oil, it doesn't feel oily. It has a very thin consistency, it gets absorbed by skin fast, and it has a cooling sensation! I use this every night.

Of course we can't forget about moisturization. Even if I have oily skin, it's important to hydrate the skin, especially at night. This Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion feels so light on skin and it feels so cool! I use this twice a day, morning and night.

For my makeup, my base is the Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream (review here) then I just add some concealer and powder on top (I prefer a mineral powder for extra coverage).

And now, for the best part of the post, the pictures of my face after every week of using the products. Here you'll see how effective the products are on my skin...

Excuse my horrible makeup-less makeup. I am doing this for the honest-to-goodness review (you better appreciate this because it took all my courage to post these). Haha!

WEEK 1:

Dark spots are very visible and you can also see new pimples and their redness. :P

 WEEK 2:

Barely any difference but less redness on the pimples.

WEEK 3:

Barely any redness and dark spots are starting to clear. I still get some small zits here and there though.

WEEK 4:

Dark spots are significantly lighter! Yay!

For the whole month I used these, my skin felt very hydrated even if I was focusing on getting rid of my blemishes. From the pictures, you can see how my skin got better. It didn't improve in an instant. It took time to see the difference but I am happy that it looks better now, especially since I have been stressed lately and lack sleep. I actually feel better when it's skincare time because after a long day, I can refresh my face with the products... I really love the cooling factor!!

And that is my report regarding the one month progress of my skin using The Body Shop Tea Tree Range.

What are your thoughts about the products?

Cheers,
DAWN

Review : The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream

Hi loves!

Do you have blemished skin like I do? If yes, then you'd be interested to know more about this new product from The Body Shop.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream
Php 795.00

I received this product around a month ago. Since I have acne-prone skin, I was excited to try it out because it promises to help deal with my blemish problems. Plus, I've used a number of products from the brand's Tea Tree line and they've worked well on my skin.

Info from the website:

Perfect your complexion and fight the look of blemishes with our Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream. This dual action cream gives you flawless coverage whilst tackling the appearance of blemishes. Formulated with purifying Community Fair Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya.
  • Blemishes and imperfections are instantly covered
  • Lightweight formula gives shine-free complexion
  • 3 shades blend seamlessly into all skin tones for natural-looking coverage
How to Use:
Squeeze BB cream onto fingertips and spread all over face until fully blended. Alternatively, dot gently onto emergency blemishes for on the spot coverage. TOP TIP: For best results, use our Tea Tree Pore Minimiser before applying BB Cream for spotless-looking skin with pores that look smaller and skin that appears smoother and more mattified!

It's makeup and skincare in one! And the promise of good coverage sold it for me! It's also available in 3 shades—Light, Medium, and Dark. The one I have here is the medium one which is very close to my skin color.

If you're familiar with the tea tree line of the brand, then you probably know about how this product smells like. The strong herb-y–menthol-ish scent is actually growing on me and I am finding it refreshing now.

The product on my hand

When swiped

Consistency is creamy but light. You can easily spread it throughout your skin and it feels like you aren't wearing any makeup! I seldom encounter products that give good coverage but feel light on skin so I'm happy to discover this one.

And here are pics of how it works on my skin:

It dealt with my redness and covered some of my pimples and acne scars. The dark ones, though, still needs more concealing. My pores also looked smaller! I wonder how it would work on top of the Instablur. Hmmm...

Lasting-power is pretty decent. It doesn't help much when it comes to oil control so I still need to blot from time to time (I guess around 3 hours or so). It would help of you have a good primer underneath to deal with that. It also helps if you top it off with powder. ;)

As for the treatment of acne, well, I can't really say since I am also using products that deal with that problem too. Actually, I'm using the whole Tea Tree Range (except for a few products)!

The Body Shop sent me these to try out and see how effective their Tea Tree range is. I'll be doing a compiled review of the products, plus I've also documented my skin and its progress during the time I'm using this line. I can't wait to see and share with you what happens! Hope you'll wait for that post! :D

So going back to the BB Cream,

What I LIKE:

- Good coverage
- Feels light on skin
- Available in three shades
- Affordable
- Locally available
- Covers redness
- Smaller-looking pores
- Has skincare benefits
- Easy to spread

What I am NEUTRAL about:

- No SPF, but you can always wear sunscreen underneath
- Scent
- Packaging

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Since it deals with preventing blemishes, why not add oil control, right? I think many of those who suffer with blemished skin have oily skin... or at least that's what I think. :P

So what are your thoughts on The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream? Have you tried this one or something similar to it?

Cheers,
DAWN

Etude House Every Month Cleansing Foam (Tea Tree) No. 6

Hey loves!

Every single one of us has skin issues that we have to address. That's why many brands create different skincare products for us to use to take care of those problems. To tell you the truth, I used to have a hard time picking which product to use. I was shy to ask for instructions from beauty assistants back then and it took me a while before I learned the basics to skincare.

But good news to all my fellow Etude House lovers for Etude House has came up with a products that has 12 variants that address different skin concerns.

A few weeks ago, I was received this cleanser that is made for troubled skin. I was thrilled to know that because I do have troubled skin and this cleanser, equipped with Tea Tree, can help me with that problem.

Cleansers are important for proper skincare. We have to make sure that we clean our face especially before going to sleep. We use this daily so it's better that we use something that suits our skin and Etude House is bringing us just that. Check out their 12 Every Month Cleansing Foams:

So take your pick of which one is best for your skin. I'm sure there's one waiting for you from the 12 variants! And what's even better is that these 100ml cleansing foams are only  Php 198.00!

As for the one I got, the No. 6 Tea Tree, it works pretty good in making my face clean after a whole day at work with makeup on. I still use makeup removers, especially for the waterproof eye makeup. After that, this cleansing foam does the trick on cleaning up the rest of the makeup I have on.

The scent is the usual tea tree scent. Very herb-y smell that is quite refreshing in my opinion. I believe that each variant has a different scent. Now I'm curious to check each of them out!

This foams up pretty well too. Just a small amount can cover your whole face. Awesome!

This is how the product looks but I believe each cleansing foam looks different from the other depending on what skin type it caters to. Some are gel-like while some are cream type like the one I have.

So why not check out these cleansing foams from Etude House? I'm sure there is one to your liking. They are very affordable and they also effectively clean your face without causing any dryness to your skin! :)

Cheers,
DAWN
