Stila Shape and Shade Custom Contour Duo in Medium

Hello dears!

Here's another swatch post!
I usually contour my nose and cheeks, but I usually use powder rather than cream products as they work better with my oily skin. But my sister gave me this product so might as well blog about it...

Stila Shape and Shade Custom Contour Duo in Medium

I like stila. I have some favorite products that come from the brand, so my expectations were quite high. I was actually very excited to try it out when I received it even if it's a cream type.

The packaging looks great and I love the slim compact! It looks classy with the matte gold plastic case. I like that the mirror is big as well.

Anyway, let's get to know the product from the description from the labels and the website:

This ultra-creamy, super-soft contour and high-light duo, uniquely, in three shades, is the perfect contouring solution for all skin tones.

This velvety duo melts into the skin and has a matte finish that blends beautifully with soft focus, line-filling properties that instantly blur imperfections, leaving skin looking so smooth and naturally sculpted you won't know it's the makeup!

Benefits:
Buildable, sheer coverage.
The three shade combinations, tested by Stila artists, offer the perfect duo of shades for three skin tone ranges - light, medium, deep. Sheer, buildable coverage delivers instant color that works on both the fairest and deepest complexions.
Matte contour shades give a natural, sculpted look that won't accentuate oily skin or fine lines. Matte highlighter is the modern way to enhance and bring light to features.
Long-wear, non-transfer, waterproof and sweat-proof.

This Contour Duo comes with an easy to follow how-to guide on sculpting and shading with tips from the Stila Pros.

STILA'S SHAPE & SHADE CUSTOM CONTOUR BRUSH is the perfect tool to complete the look.

I like wearing liquid foundations so I thought this would look great on top of my foundation, before I apply my transparent loose powder.

I appreciate, too, that the contour doesn't have that strong red tone because that doesn't go well with my skin. Unfortunately, I encountered a problem. What was supposed to be a product to highlight wasn't lighter than my skin tone. I think it's too close, or even darker than my skin tone. I think I should use the Light shade instead of Medium.

Here are the swatches:

With just one swatch, I get this result. The pigmentation is great! A little goes a long way so be careful with the amount you apply.

When slightly blended, it looks smooth. It blended smoothly on skin and it feels very light. It's easy to blend and the finish looks soft and natural. I find that brushes work better at blending for me. A beauty blender works good too!

So below you'll see my face and where I usually apply the contour. I didn't use the highlight because it's pretty much the same color as my face. :P

And below is when it's blended...

It gives a soft finish. I don't usually apply much although I know that a darker contour is what's in, especially in Instagram. If you do like a stronger contour, the good news is this product is very buildable!

Overall, I think it's a decent product. I do like the contour but the highlight is barely used. I'll try to use it on my friends with darker skin tone to see the effect better. Both shades have matte finish and I'd really like to see a matte highlighter in action.

Would I buy it once mine runs out? Uhhhh... maybe not. As much as I think the contour is good, I feel like powder is still better in terms of formula. I find that it's a bit expensive (according to the website) at $40, especially for something that I only use half of the product.

And that's all for this post! Thoughts on the Stila Shape and Shade Custom Contour Duo?

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci

Hey loves!

It's been a while since I last made a blog post. The past couple of months were so exhausting because of work, school, and other important obligations that I had to skip blogging just to find time to get some sleep. Good think I have my Peachy Pink Sister Liz to write some posts for me while I'm M.I.A. Anyway, I've done at least half of the things that I need to finish, so now I have enough time to spare for a short swatch post! Yay!

For tonight, I'll share my swatches of Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick.

And the shade I have is in Baci.

This is a gift from my sister. I think she bought a set and she didn't find this shade flattering on her so she asked if I wanted it. I think some of you may have read that I'm a fan of pinkish nude or nude pink lipstick shades so I happily accepted the item. :D

Info from the website:

The ultimate power pout! This creamy-matte, full-coverage lip color delivers bold, long-lasting color and stays in place for up to 6 hours of continuous wear.

The texture is weightless on lips and comfortable. The color-rich formula will not bleed or transfer.

Enriched with Vitamin E and avocado oil, Stay All Day® Liquid Lipstick softens the lips so they look and feel beautiful!

ISODODECANE, DIMETHICONE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, POLYBUTENE, PETROLATUM, CYCLOHEXASILOXANE, KAOLIN, DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, BEESWAX (CERA ALBA), SILICA DIMETHYL SILYLATE, FLAVOR (AROMA), GLYCERYL BEHENATE/EICOSADIDATE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, PERSEA GRATISSIMA (AVOCADO) OIL, TOCOPHEROL, CYCLOPENTASILOXANE, TIN OXIDE; May Contain (+/-) MICA, TITANIUM, DIOXIDE (CI 77891), RED 7 LAKE (CI 15850), RED 6 (CI 15850), YELLOW 6 LAKE (CI 15985), YELLOW 5 LAKE (CI 19140), BLUE 1 LAKE (CI 42090), RED 21 LAKE (CI 45380), CARMINE (CI 75470), IRON OXIDE (CI 77491). IRON OXIDE (CI 77492), IRON OXIDE (CI 77499)

Besides the attractive nude pink shade that is visible from the transparent, classy tube, what made me so interested on this product the first time I opened it is its scent. It smells wonderfully yummy! I like the sweet-smelling lip products the most because it gives me that kilig moment (if you're a makeup lover, then you know what I mean). ;)

Here's the wand.

The wand carries enough products to cover both my lips.

Swatch on my hand

The product is very pigmented. I love the nude pink color very much!!!

On the lips

I like the matte finish and I also like how thin and light it feels when applied. It can be a bit drying some times but at least it doesn't go as far as the product cracking while applied. It doesn't do any bleeding and it lasts the whole day!

I'm loving this product and I use it a lot, especially when I have a dramatic eye makeup going on. ;)

What are your thoughts on the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci? :)

Dawn's December 2016 Haul

Hello loves!

Besides the family and friend bondings and the delicious food, the other things that I enjoy about December are the various sales and the Christmas bonus from work. ;) There's always a shopping spree moment for me during this time of the year. What got me into a more intense shopping spree is the fact that I didn't buy much beauty products during the months of October and November. So yeah, I did some major spending and I love it! :D

Here are the items that you will see on the blog (for reviews and swatches) pretty soon...

Mario Badescu Skincare Glycolic Acid Toner
I ran out of toner so I immediately bought one. I was using one from Skinfood, Kiehl's, and Clarins prior to this one and I loved them all but I thought of trying a new one next. I chose the one with Glycolic Acid because I have acne problems to deal with. I hope this works on me. :)

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eye Primer - PhP 895.00
Lunasol Skin Contrast Face Powder - PhP 2,499.00

I bought the Stila primer to use on a Stila eyeshadow that was included in a beauty set I bought before. The Lunasol powder, on the other hand, is an unplanned purchase. My sister and I were just in awe when we swatched it. The powder was so soft and smooth that we both bought our own!

Snoe Shoo-Zit Spray Me From Behind -  PhP 349.00
Snoe Rouge Deluxe in Bite Me - PhP 399.00

I finally bought a sort of black lipstick. Yay! And if you want to read my review of the back acne spray, click here.

Zenutrients Luxurious Goat's Milk and Oatmeal Body Scrub - PhP 234.00
Zenutrients Whitening Underarm Cream - PhP 234.00

This body scrub smells AMAZING!

Canmake Mix Eyebrow - PhP 490.00

Snoe Emu Cleanse  - PhP 499.00
I bought it because I know that Emu is good for the skin. It's good for moisturization and has anti-inflammatory benefits. This cleanser also has some acids that suit my skin well and helps treat some of my acne problems.

Girl Stuff Nail polishes in Grace and Machiatto - PhP 100.00 each
Girl Stuff was on sale and I'm looking for nude nail polishes. ;)

Zenutrients Oil-Around Argan
Zenutrients All is Well Balm

Argan works wonders on my hair but it's quite expensive. This 250ml is only PhP 499.00 so hopefully it works well so that I have a more affordable alternative. The All is Well Balm will be placed on my office table. It smells really good. Minty and calming, something that will help me relax on a busy day.

Zen Zest Body Spray in Vanilla Cream
Zen Zest Linen Fragrance in Stimulating

Zen Zest was also on sale. I love it when I smell good and I love it even more when my room and my bed smells good as well. These items are around PhP 100.00 or even less!

Maru Marula Oil Infused Hair Treatment in Vibrant Shine and Intensive Moisture

I was looking for hair treatment and I chose to get these because they were only PhP 75.00 and the packaging looks cool. Haha! I hope they're good. :P

L.A. Girls Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss in Dreamy - PhP 349.00

I was deceived! I bought this because I asked the S.A. what lipstick she used because it was like a brick red color with a hint of burnt sienna shade. She said she used this one and I was puzzled actually because her lipcolor did not look anything like the color of the lip gloss as seen on the clear packaging, but she swore that it was this one. I dunno if she was lying, but this shade is pretty close to MAC's Ruby Woo—red with bluish undertone. I wanted a warm-almost brown shade! Oh the deception. The betrayal, man!

Revlon Photoready Eye Art in Peach Prism - PhP 468.75

This was on sale. The original price was around PhP 650.00. I liked the shade and I also like that it has 2 products—a metallic base and a glittery liner.

Covergirl TruBlend - PhP 200.00
Another product on sale. But this is for my mom. :)

Marrionaud Pointed Eyeshadow brush - PhP 89.75
Marrionaud Eyelash Curler Refill - PhP 33.00

Marrionaud Pedicure Metal Corn Cutter - PhP 109.00
Veert Wax Strips for Normal Skin - Php 257.00

I also took advantage of Etude House's Year-End sale. They have a promo wherein you get 2 products for the price of 1. This will last until January 17 or until supplies last.

Etude House Hot Style Bubble Hair Coloring
in Cherry Brown and Sweet Orange - PhP 428.00 for both

You don't have to get the same shade too. As long as it's the same product. I've been planning to change hair color and I was able to get two shades. I'll be using the Cherry Brow first and maybe the other one after 5-6 months I guess. :P

Etude House Color My Brows in Natural Brown - PhP 378.00 for both

Browcaras are now a staple in my beauty kit because of my thick brows. Glad that this was included in the sale!

Etude House My Beauty Tool Eyeliner Brush - PhP 248.00

I actually just bought this to get a better freebie. Haha!

5 I Need You Mango Mask and 1 I Need You Olive Mask - PhP 174.00 for all six

Etude House Stay Up Foundation in Ivory and Beige - PhP 778.00

I bought different shades because one is for me and one is for a friend. It's like I got them for PhP 300+ each only!

And these are my freebies! 3 mini Precious Mineral BB Creams and a Mini Precious Mineral Any Cushion! You can get it if your purchase amount to at least PhP 2,000.00.

And of course, I didn't leave out my art material shopping. I know I bought a lot of art stuff two months ago, but I just can't help myself... These make me happy. :)

 Calligraphy Pad - Php 179.75
Kami Marker Pad - 848.75

 3 Palomino Pencils - Php 119.00 each

Pebeo Huile XL Oil Colours - PhP 517.00
I know this is student quality and I think I should level it up a bit but it has been more than two years since I last used oil paint. I better practice again. :P

Black Paper Sketchbook - PhP 399.00

I also just want to show you some products my sister gave me. Most are lip glosses and that Armani liquid lipstick is something that you should check out because it's really good! Gonna post a swatch soon!

And those are the new stuff I got last December! Which ones are you curious about? ;)

Cheers

Stila Color Push-up All Over Color in Blush Flash

Hey loves!

I have mentioned that I am not a fan of cream nor gel blushes but I guess my sister is quite fond of them... or maybe not... because she has sent me yet another one and this time, it's from Stila...

Stila Color Push-up All Over Color

I don't own much Stila products... in fact, I think I have only tried around a handful of their products so I was excited to try it out when I received it.

The shade I got is Blush Flash.

The packaging is a twist-up type (like a deo!) plastic material. It's see-through so you can see the shade of the product.

The shape makes it easy to apply since it can cover large areas, but if you like it thinner, you can just apply with the edge because the width is thinner.

The color seems like a dark cranberry red shade, but when you apply it, it's actually very sheer. You'll get this color...

It's sort of a very warm dark rose pink color that's very sheer and with a dewy finish.

The consistency is quite thick and it feels sort of sticky and waxy which is a big no-no for me so I got turned off at first swatch to be honest. :/

It does look good when I wear it. Check out the photos below:

Left: no blush yet
Right: with the blush

Since it is an "All Over" color, I also try using this as a lippie. The sticky, waxy feel is more tolerable as a lippie  but it can dry your lips badly. YIKES!

So even if it looks good and creates that simple, natural and dewy finish, I don't recommend this at all because it feels so bad on skin, like you're wearing thick wax! And it dries your lips that will lead to chapping! Just no. :(

I guess that's all I can say with this product. I tried looking for info on this particular one but it's not on the website anymore. I think I read in other reviews that this has been discontinued already... I would not be surprised if this is true. :P
