Review : Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Let's Make It Last Makeup Primer

Hello loves!

I wear makeup every time I go to work and that means I have it from morning 'til around six in the afternoon (or is it evening?) when I get home from work. In some days, I have it on until 9 PM because of my classes in graduate school (good thing it's already the start of the summer vacation... I can go home earlier! YAY!).
That is why makeup primers are a must for me. They make your makeup last longer and also give it a better finish by hiding pores and fine lines. I think every makeup lover should own one!

But of course not every primer does that for you. You have to check if it suits your skin type and skin sensitivity. And so it has been my mission to find a good primer for my oily skin. I've already tried a number of primers and one of those that I really liked is the...

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Let's Make It Last Makeup Primer
It's Php 450.00 per 30g bottle.

So let's see what it promises by checking out the product descriptions at the back:

And here's some info from their website:

Our silicone-based primer is designed to hold your makeup and control oil all

day. This lasting liquid base can also fill in your pores and fine lines, instantly
making your skin feel velvety. Its matte finish turns your face into the ideal canvas
for the rest of your Poreless Perfection routine!

How to use:
Using your ring or pinky finger (the weakest fingers of your
hand), blend a small amount of primer all over your face. Focus

on your T-zone. Allow the primer to melt and set before you
apply the rest of your makeup.

Tips:
This primer is perfect for dry to oily skin types. It hydrates and

prevents oil at the same time. Mature, lined skin and skin with
enlarged pores will also benefit from its smoothing properties.

It's inside a pump bottle so getting the product is quite easy. One pump is enough for my face.
I love Ellana's package designs because it's soooo artsy! The illustrations are made by Soleil Ignacio. The art-lover in me approves!

This is what the product looks like. It is translucent and a bit thick.

When spread-out, it gives a velvety smooth, matte finish! My skin really feels so soft! I'm amazed by it at first try!

Ellana specializes on mineral makeup but this can also be used under liquid foundations. But I think it works best with mineral powder foundations. I recently started using mineral makeup when I attended one of Ellana's events. I became an instant fan when I saw how great it worked on my skin. Just check out how radiant my face looked when I used Ellana's products!

Everything I used there are from Ellana except for the mascara, eyeliners and lipstick. I will share a more detailed post on how I apply my mineral makeup soon. ;)

But let's go back to the primer. :P
Without this primer, my foundation would only last a good 3-4 hours because of my very oily face. But this helped control oil and that is why my makeup can last the whole day. I just retouch twice—one during lunch and another before I go home.

And I believe it does give some hydration at the same time. I use some treatment on my acne which dries them up leading to some flaking in some areas. With this on, I do not worry that my foundation will cake on areas where there are dry skin especially on my jaw area.

So as you can see, I have nothing but praise for this product. It's paraben-free, fragrance-free, and it takes care of all the things I look for in a primer—controls oil, prolongs makeup, and hides pores. The only thing I can warn you about this is if you are not suited for silicone-based makeup because this is one of those products. Other than that, I definitely recommend it (whether your dry skin or oily like me)! :)
