Introducing: Gluta Advance White and Firm

Hey dears!

Many Filipinas are obsessed with whitening their skin. I believe that most of us consider people who have fair skin more beautiful. You can see on TV that most of our celebrities are mestizas or chinitas, and those who aren't usually get fairer skin as they stay longer in show business.

I believe this "love" for whiter skin came from our country being influenced heavily by Western countries. We were under the occupation of Spain and the US for years and this led to "mix breeds" (LOL) or those we call the mestizas/mestizos. Those who belonged to those families are usually more well-off and ranked higher in terms of social class. They usually stay indoors while those who do labor are usually outside which led to darker skin.

I personally like my skin to be somewhere between medium-dark olive, but majority still prefer their skin to be lighter and this fixation on lighter skin tone will most probably still exist in our culture for a long, long time. That is why there are tons of whitening products in the market (very different to those on the west where there are more tanning products and salons).

Some of these whitening skincare products are from Gluta Advance. They sent me a whole range of their White and Firm range to try out.

But what do we know about Gluta Advance? According to their Facebook Page,

Skincare that goes beyond skin whitening. Formulated with sun protection to shield the skin against harmful UV rays and sustain the whitening process. Gluta Advance unveils a fairer and tauter new you in as early as two weeks.

We know that in order to make our skin lighter, we need to protect our skin from the sun. And these products promises to have that needed sun protection as it lightens your skin.

These products that are made by dermatologists are equipped with Glutathione which is best known for whitening and is also an antioxidant, which helps in slowing the aging of the skin. They also have L-Carnitine, Vitamin C, and Clair Blanche ("a unique infusion of 7 ingredients known to inhibit melanin formation") which help achieve a more radiant, smoother, whiter, and firmer skin.

The Gluta Advance range is a complete set to pamper your skin. You get to cleanse, tone, and moisturize using the products. There are items for your face and for your body so your skin lightens evenly and not just on specific areas. You can check out the labels at the back of each product for more info and you can also visit this website which also contains some info on the skincare range.

Anyway, here are the products! I arranged them on how it should be used.

First off, the products for the face.

The facial wash to cleanse the face.

The toner for further cleansing and balances the skin's pH level.

And finally, the facial cream to keep the skin hydrated. This also has the sun protection needed to shield us from UV rays.

Now for the products for the body:

The soap for cleansing.

And the body lotion for moisturization and sun protection.

Each product is important so it is a must that we use them all and don't skip on anything, especially the lotions!

Gluta Advance promises to whiten the skin in two weeks. My dilemma is that I like my skin right now and I am not interested in getting it lighter. Liz, my co-blogger, is very busy right now and might not be able to follow the skin care process needed to be done to achieve a lighter complexion (she's always so tired that she frequently just falls asleep when she gets home).

Good thing my officemate wanted to try the products out! Yippee! She's willing to be my guinea pig! Below are pictures of her skin prior the use of the products. She requested that I don't show her full face so I hope that these pictures are okay with all of you.

We will keep track of her skin every two weeks to see the results of Gluta Advance on her skin! We're both excited to see if it works! I will keep you updated and will also share with you her thoughts and experience using the products so I hope you stay tune for that! :D

October 2014 Haul

Hey dears!

Sharing the stuff I bought this month... well, actually last weekend. LOL
Been staying at home for the past couple of weekends prior to last weekend so I really missed buying something. Haha! I didn't buy much but I am very excited to try all these.

First are clothes from Forever21. My bro promised me that he'll buy me something as a gift for my birthday. He gave me the freedom to choose whatever I want but I was given a limit. I decided to get something I could wear because it has been a while since I bought some clothes.

And this is what I picked. It's a loose shirt that doesn't make me look fatter than I already am. LOL. This really flatters my skin as well! Got it for Php 915.00.

And while I was browsing one of the racks, I saw these two lovely tops that I can just have to buy...
Got this for Php 879.00.

Php 1,275.00

And of course I have to drop by the beauty section of SM department store to buy some beauty essentials.

Watsons Foot Peeling Mask with Papaya and Lactic Acid
Php 229.00

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania
Php 390.00

Tony Moly Lacquer Glitter and Nail Stickers
Php 178.00 and Php 25.00

Tony Moly HD Hair Lotion
Php 228.00

I'm Real Red Wine Mask Sheet - Pore Care

And I got a BCDation and Intense Care LS CC Cream sachet as freebies! Yay!

And those are my stuff! Find something interesting? :)

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics Eye Color in Halo

Hey guys!

I'm sharing another multi-purpose product from Ellana!

I really appreciate that Ellana provides us with these fabulous products that have more than one functions. You can see them in my reviews (click here to read them). This one that I'm writing about is an eye shadow that I also use as an eye liner and a highlighter.

Ellana Minerals Eye Color in Halo
Php 150.00.

I got this from my August Glamourbox.

Info about the product from the website:

Halo can be used as:

- BLUSH
- EYELINER
- EYESHADOW
- LIP COLOR (when added to lip gloss)

What is Multipurpose Mineral Powder?

It's pure high intensity mineral pigments that can be used as eyeshadows, eyeliners, blushes, lip colors, bronzers, and body shimmers. Our colors come in matte, shimmer, and frost finish. Note that some shades cannot be used for the lips.

Swatch on hand

LOVE the pigmentation. It gives a sort of ethereal feel. I feel like I'm one of those Elves in Lothlórien! (LOL) The shimmer and the fine glitters give that magical vibe into the beautiful purplish-pink shade.

Check out these shots below. It shows how I usually use it as an eyeshadow.

I use a darker shade of purple at the outer corners of the lids to add depth.

This would look good as a sheer blush to those with very fair skin. But since I have a medium-tone skin, I use it as a highlighter. See the photo below.

See that sheen on top of my cheekbones? That's Halo giving me that beautiful glow! I just love how it makes my face look "blooming," especially when the makeup colors used are mostly pink.

I also use this as an eyeliner. I usually line this below my bottom lashes to create a brighter set of eyes.

So what are your thoughts about this products? Have you tried any eye color shades from Ellana Minerals yet?

Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner in Gold Shine

Hey loves!

Sharing a quick swatch post of one of the eyeliners I've recently bought...

Clio Gelpresso Waterproof Pencil Gel Liner in Gold Shine No. 12
I bought this at SM Mall of Asia department store for Php 475.00.

I just bought this so I could give it a try. I am a fan of their Kill Black Pen Eyeliner so I was hoping that their gel liner pencil would be equally impressive.

Anyway, let's see first what the product info says about the eyeliner:

Ooooh! It's available in different shades!

Packaging looks really classy. I love the black pencil with the labels colored according to the shade of the product.

The sharpener label doesn't mean that it has the literal sharpener we know. This pencil is a twist-up pencil and in order to get more product, you just twist the end a.k.a. the "sharpener" part.

Here's the closeup of the pencil.

And here's the full-extent of it.

Swatch on my hand

When smudged

The colored stayed but there's a little smudging that happened. It's still okay for me since I plan on using this under my lower lash line. Check the photos below.

The effect just brightens the eyes. I already have a pink one from Holika Holika that I absolutely love. This one, I use when I want a warmer shimmer.

This is a really good product and I love the pigmentation... it's just that I'm not super impressed with this because the Jewel-Light Pencils from Holika Holika works just as good but is worth half the price of this one so if ever I want other colors, I'd go with the Holika ones. :P

So what do you think of this product? Have you tried other products from Clio yet?
