Essence: Lipliner 11 in the Nude

Good evening bellas,

I've recently started using lipliners again. For a long time, I've never really liked using lipliners and it's quite funny why I avert from using them. When I was young, my aunt applied a dark shade of lipliner on me. I don't really remember how my lips looked before that time, but when I noticed the natural dark line defining the edges of my lips, I thought that was caused by the lipliner. This alarmed me when I was young and somehow, the idea got stuck in my mind that lipliners darken your lips.

Then, Dawn steered me back into seeing how the lipliners are good for me. I'm still not touching dark lipliners but at least I've started using nudes.

Here is the nude liner I've been using for the past few months. It's Essence Lipliner in 11 in the Nude.

I really love this lipliner. It glides on smooth and feels very light.

It lasts long and does not transfer easily. It's very wearable by itself.

I love that the color is so near to the hue of my natural lip. I've started using this over my nude lipsticks when going for a no make-up look since it looks so natural on me. Of course, I still do top it with a little gloss as by itself, it tends to make the lips look a little dry.

This lipliner is available in all Essence stall in Watsons and costs Php 99.00.

Anyway, that's it for now.

Cheers,
LIZ

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner Definer in 005 Pure

Hey dolls!

I'll be sharing a quick swatch post of this product that my sister gave me. I don't use lip liners much but I've almost finished this particular one because I use this as a lipstick! This has fantastic pigmentation and the color is very, very gorgeous!

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner Definer in 005 Pure

My sis bought this at Sydney so I don't know what the price is. But I bet that this was more expensive there than when bought in the US for example. LOL. She keeps complaining how most of the things are more expensive there. :P

Anyway, below are pictures of the labels on the packaging.

Short product description from the website:

Long Lasting precise contour colour Full Volume Colour and definition. Soft texture Fine tipped automatic liner

And it is available in 9 shades.

This is a twist-up liner—no need to sharpen! Yay!

What I noticed when I first applied this is that it is super creamy that it breaks easily. A centimeter-long part just broke and fell off. Yikes! And I don't think I even applied it in a hard way. Maybe this happened because of the hot weather in the country that's why it got softer... I dunno. But oh well, just twist it up in a way that there's only a short amount of product showing, like 3mm. :P

Swatch on hand

Here's the product when I use it to line my lips.

Applied fully on the lips.

The color is a vibrant pink and it's matte. It really looks fabulous! But it makes the dry areas of your lips very noticeable. Plus, this can dry the lips easily.

Below are my pictures using the product as a lipstick.

So what do you think? Have you tried any lip liners from Rimmel yet? Do you often use lip liners?

Cheers,

NYX Slim Lipliner Pencil in Hot Red

Hey dears!

Happy Mom's day in advance to all the mothers out there! We celebrated this day today since my mom will be off to London early in the morning tomorrow. She'll be having a two-week vacation there with my aunt. I'm a bit jealous because I want to travel as well, especially to a European country. But it's okay... someday I will get to do that once I'm more financially stable and independent. Haha! But going back to my mom, I really think she deserves it because my mom is such a hard-working woman. She raised all three of us alone for 20 years now. But enough of this for now, more about our mom's day on tomorrow's post. For now, I'll share a quick beauty swatch about...

NYX Slim Lipliner Pencil in Hot Red
This is probably around Php 250-300.00.

Got this product from the Sample Room Inspire Goodie Bag.

I was happy that I got the Hot Red shade because I do not own one yet and I happen to own many red lipsticks. But I actually don't use lip liners because I do think my lips is... well-shaped? Or already defined? I find that lipstick application is very easy for me to do.

Here's some description from the website:

Slim, trim but never prim, our lip pencils come in a variety of dashing shades—from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery, long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.

Ingredients:
Sorbitan Isostearate, Isocetyl Stearate,Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax,Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Unsaponifiables, Beeswax, SimmondsiaChinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Caprylic/Capri Triglyceride, Nylon-12,Octyldodecanol, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Silica, CoperniciaCerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Hydrogenated, Coconut Oil, Tocopherol,VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Stearalkonium Hectorite, StearylGlycyrrhetinate, Propylparaben, Prolylene Carbonate

A swatch on my hand

I really like how pigmented this is. I believe most of the lipliners from NYX are this pigmented. Just like most of their lipsticks!

Here's how I lined my lips with it.
Obviously, I am not that well-practiced with lining my lips. Haha! Like I said, I don't use lip liners. :P But besides the great, bold color, this product is very smooth and creamy which makes it glide easily on my lips.

Though it's a good lip liner, I think it is even better when you fill your lips with this or make it act as a matte lipstick. Check out my lips on the photos below:

See how great they are when you fill the lips with the liner? It's quite long-lasting too. Unfortunately, they can be a bit drying.

Here are some FOTD photos of me wearing it as a lippie:

So what do you think of this product? Do you like NYX lipliner pencils? Do you use lipliners? :)

Amuse Soft Lipliner in Hot Pink

Hello guys!

Just a quick swatch post for today.

I got this product 2 months ago from Salad box. I don't really use lip liners since I think my lips are well defined already but I guess it's good that you keep a nice color in your stash. You never know when you might be needing a good lip liner!

Amuse Soft Lipliner in Hot Pink

This is Php150.00 each.

My Salad Box Letter describes this product as:

"Get more defined lips using this soft and very pigmented lip liner from Amuse."

The shade I got is Hot Pink. I would prefer having a nude lip pencil since it would go with everything but a nice hot pink won't hurt. I love bold colors and Hot Pink is one of my favorite lip colors.

The liner is unscented. It is soft and glides to your skin smoothly.

Here's a swatch on my hand.

As seen on the picture above, it really is pigmented! :)

I apologize for the lazy lining of the lips. I don't really use this kind of makeup. Haha! But anyway, this would work really well as a guide and to define your lips further. Having a pretty hot pink shade of lippie, or even any other pink shade if blended well, would make all the difference with this liner on.

I could even use this as a lippie! Just look at how nice it is as a matte lipstick!
It can get a bit drying though but I love the finish of it on my lips.

So have you tried the lipliners from Amuse?
How about their other products?

Cheers!

Review : L.A. Colors Auto Lipliner in Pinky

Hey everyone! ♥

I recently realized that I barely have any lip liners.
I don't buy them since I believe that I don't need them since my lips are already well-defined.
But while I was doing some makeovers with friends, I encountered someone that needed lip liner to make her lips look better with very bold lipstick.

So a few days ago, as I was browsing stuff at Watsons, I bought one from L.A. Colors.

L.A. Colors Auto Lipliner in Pinky
It's worth Php119.00

Product Description from the website:

SMUDGE PROOF
SMOOTH APPLICATION
ENRICHED WITH SHEA BUTTER

Lipliner Pencils line & fill lips beautifully. Enriched with shea butter to help nourish, moisturize & protect skin.

One pencil has this much product.
Quite a lot of amount for its price. :)

And it has 2 years storage life! Me likey since I don't think I'll be using it often. Even if the color is nice, I guess I am just not used to using lip liners. :P

Here's a swatch on my hand

And when I line my lips.
I actually smudge the liner after to make it a little subtler.

And this liner could also make a good matte lipstick!

See? Such a pretty color.
I really like it as a lipstick actually. And unlike other matte lipsticks, my lips don't get chappy with this.

This lip liner is indeed smooth to apply and it has a fairly decent lasting power.
It doesn't have a scent as well.

LIKES:
♥ Affordable
♥ Locally available
♥ The color is really pretty
♥ Smooth
♥ Decent lasting power
♥ Long shelf life

DISLIKES:
♥ None so far

So have you tried L.A. Colors Auto Lipliner in Pinky yet?
What's your favorite lip liner brand?

Cheers!
