No7 Precision Lip Pencil in Nude

Hey loves!

I was supposed to do some school work for the whole weekend but ended up doing nothing... well, I did get to watch two Cinemalaya 2014 films... so I guess I still did something productive... But anyway, I'm still in "lazy mode" so I won't be doing a long post for tonight. But that doesn't mean it's nothing special. :D

I'll be sharing with you a swatch post of a product that I've been wanting to have for more than a year now. I kept seeing this product in the videos of my favorite Youtube Beauty Guru, Lisa Eldridge. In fact, she named this as one of her favorite lip pencils for natural or nude looks, and she recommends it for those with light-medium skin tones (like me!).

No7 Precision Lip Pencil in Nude

I bought it at Target when I was in L.A. last June. It was around $6 I think...

This is also the first product that I have tried from the brand. I hope this will be available in the Philippines soon. :D

I've seen the brand's Precision Lip Pencil as a pencil and not like this which is a twist-up/retractable one. I'm not sure if they've phased the pencil out or if they sell them in both ways.

Here's a close up of the product.

Swatch on arm

The product lined on my lips

It is so close to my lip color that you can hardly see the difference. I don't really use lip liners since I find my lips well-defined already but I really like this particular color, especially when I use it all over my lips.

when used as a lip color

It's matte and nude! My favorite kind of lippie (besides a matte red one). It can be drying though so it helps if you have a non-glossy lip balm underneath.

And there you have it. A really good products that's inexpensive. I do recommend this, a lot. I think it suits Filipina skin really well!

NYX Slim Lipliner Pencil in Hot Red

Hey dears!

Happy Mom's day in advance to all the mothers out there! We celebrated this day today since my mom will be off to London early in the morning tomorrow. She'll be having a two-week vacation there with my aunt. I'm a bit jealous because I want to travel as well, especially to a European country. But it's okay... someday I will get to do that once I'm more financially stable and independent. Haha! But going back to my mom, I really think she deserves it because my mom is such a hard-working woman. She raised all three of us alone for 20 years now. But enough of this for now, more about our mom's day on tomorrow's post. For now, I'll share a quick beauty swatch about...

NYX Slim Lipliner Pencil in Hot Red
This is probably around Php 250-300.00.

Got this product from the Sample Room Inspire Goodie Bag.

I was happy that I got the Hot Red shade because I do not own one yet and I happen to own many red lipsticks. But I actually don't use lip liners because I do think my lips is... well-shaped? Or already defined? I find that lipstick application is very easy for me to do.

Here's some description from the website:

Slim, trim but never prim, our lip pencils come in a variety of dashing shades—from auburn to orange and traffic-stopping red. The buttery, long-wearing lip liner formula goes on easily and resists bleeding.

Ingredients:
Sorbitan Isostearate, Isocetyl Stearate,Phenyl Trimethicone, Polyethylene, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax,Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Unsaponifiables, Beeswax, SimmondsiaChinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Caprylic/Capri Triglyceride, Nylon-12,Octyldodecanol, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Silica, CoperniciaCerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Hydrogenated, Coconut Oil, Tocopherol,VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Stearalkonium Hectorite, StearylGlycyrrhetinate, Propylparaben, Prolylene Carbonate

A closeup of the product

A swatch on my hand

I really like how pigmented this is. I believe most of the lipliners from NYX are this pigmented. Just like most of their lipsticks!

Here's how I lined my lips with it.
Obviously, I am not that well-practiced with lining my lips. Haha! Like I said, I don't use lip liners. :P But besides the great, bold color, this product is very smooth and creamy which makes it glide easily on my lips.

Though it's a good lip liner, I think it is even better when you fill your lips with this or make it act as a matte lipstick. Check out my lips on the photos below:

See how great they are when you fill the lips with the liner? It's quite long-lasting too. Unfortunately, they can be a bit drying.

Here are some FOTD photos of me wearing it as a lippie:

So what do you think of this product? Do you like NYX lipliner pencils? Do you use lipliners? :)

Cheers,

NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Coffee

Hi fellow makeup lovers!

Here's another lip pencil post.
This is the first one I got from NYX.
It's not exactly a lip liner since it's just too big but it's not your ordinary lipstick since it is in pencil form.

NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Coffee

This is not available in local malls but you could get this from online stores. There are quite a number of these online stores that carry NYX products.

This lippie has a creamy, coffee latte color finish.

Here are details on the pencil:
It's great to know that the products I use are cruelty-free. And it's great that this is hypo allergenic and it can last up to a year.

Here are swatches:

I don't have any lippie of this color so I'm quite happy to have it in my stash.

I tried using it as a lip liner but since it is a jumbo pencil, it's quite difficult to just do thin line to outline the lips. So better stick to using this pencil as a lipstick.

And finally, here it is on my lips.

It's not really flattering on me to be honest. But I still find it nice that I have it in my collection. I do makeovers on different people and I believe that it will be of some use to me someday.
What I didn't like about it is that it is so creamy that when it is stored in a warm place like in my bag when I go out, it gets melted quite fast.

So what do you think of NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Coffee?
Any lip pencils out there you could recommend?

Cheers!

MAC Lip Pencil in Stone

Good evening ladies,

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much... (more of apologies to Dawn). Death March at school just started this week, by that I mean, 3 weeks of continuous examinations. So do excuse my lack of posts lately.

Anyway, I found something interesting in the bag of make-up that a relative of ours left for my mom. She isn't really into make-up so it's practically mine anyway :).

I found this MAC Lip Pencil in Stone and was really pleased. I just discovered the beauty of lip liners, you see. When I was younger, I remembered somebody putting a lip liner on me and ended up not liking the whole idea of putting lip liners. It was because when the lipstick wore off, the liner stayed, and I felt like I looked weird.

But lately I am just loving them. More of cause I watch Lisa Eldridge put them on and they just make all the difference, especially for thin, ill-defined lips.

Here's details of the product:

Ingredients:

It looks grayish here but I think in the actual product it looks grayish brown.

Here's when applied on the arm. It glides really easily and pigment is strong too.

Dawn does not like the color though, cause it's dark when applied. It represents it's name, STONE.

I like it though, I guess it's cause my lips are a bit dark because I don't hydrate myself as often as I should (which is bad) so they're dark... but not smoker dark (I don't smoke). It also blends well with the lip stick color that I use on top of it. Plus it does not leave me with an ugly weird line once the lipstick fades.

For a more detailed review, visit this link of it's review at MakeupAlley.com.

Anyway, just wanted to share this with you girls. I do want to buy more lip liners, especially the ones Lisa Eldridge designed. Whenever I see her using them, I just wanna buy them because they look so pretty. But I can't buy them here, and MAC is just too expensive for me.

How about you girls? Do you have any favorite lip liners? Any good finds out there? If you do have any, do share with me. :)

That's it for now. Hope I pass my exams ^_^.

Cheers,
LIZ
