Tony Moly Timeless Ferment Snail Sun Cream

Hey loves!

Almost two weeks ago, I published a list of products that I've been using for this year's summer season. If you've seen the list, you might find that I use many products on my skin (haha!). I know it takes so much time and effort but I really do not mind all that, as long as the combination of all items is effective on my skin. Though I do appreciate it when I get to save some time applying stuff with the use of products that provide more than one benefit. Just like this one from Tony Moly...

Tony Moly Timeless Ferment Snail Sun Cream
The price is Php 1,398.00.

According to the press release I received, this product "...has SPF 47 PA++ for optimum protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Aside from SPF, this cream contains fermented snail filtrate from snails fed with golden green tea. This filtrate has anti-wrinkle, brightening ,and nourishing properties. Best part is you get all these benefits without the greasy feeling!"

Here's the description of the product from the packaging:

As indicated in the description, this product is a sunscreen and a moisturizer in one! And if you love your skin, you should know better than to skip your sun protection and skin's hydration! Without those two, advanced skin aging is inevitable!

The sun protection in this one is no joke. For daily use, SPF47 and PA+++ is really good! SPF is to protect the skin from UVB, which causes sunburns, while the PA rating is the amount of protection against UVA, which hastens skin aging and also causes sun related skin cancers. I found this info from beautyficient. Check the website out if you want to learn more about sun protections.

This product moisturizes as well, I believe. It has snail secretion which has been used since ancient times for skincare according to The Dermatology Review's article. It is said that these creams can help regenerate and repair skin cells. It has been a popular ingredient in skincare, especially in Korea. I haven't tried a lot of products containing snail secretions but I am guessing that they really do work considering so many people buy these kinds of products. My mom actually bought some when we were in Jeju. I'll ask her if I can have one just to try them myself.

For this particular product though, I skip using my morning moisturizer and rely on what this product can do for my skin. For the past couple of weeks of usage, I think it does the job well! I don't have dry skin (I actually have oily skin), so I am not entirely sure of the extent of how much moisturization it can do, but for my skin, the moisture it gives is just enough for my skin throughout the day.

Here's how it looks like.

The product is a little thick... thicker than the moisturizers and sunscreens that I've been using. It's quite sticky too, which I observe many snail products are like. I usually do not like thick and sticky products but this one gets absorbed by the skin easily after a couple of minutes. It instantly feels lightweight. I apply my makeup on top of it and my face doesn't feel like it's wearing layers and layers of products.

When I spread it, it doesn't leave my skin white unlike many sunscreens, so it doesn't make my face look awkward. YAY! It's so easy to spread on the skin as well.

Is it whitening? I don't know... I don't think so... or at least I don't notice any difference. I'm not into whitening anyway so I don't really mind if it doesn't. :P

As for the packaging, a big YES for the pump and that it's a tube type! Love the combination! I get to control the amount dispensed easily with the pump, plus, if I'm almost finished with it, I can just cut the tube to get the rest of the product out! I would get my money's worth for sure considering this is a little more pricey than the products I have been using. Design-wise, it looks classy and expensive! Love it!

And that's all I have to say about Tony Moly's Timeless Ferment Snail Sun Cream. If you're looking for a two-in-one product that hydrates and shields the skin from the sun, then I recommend you check this out and experience it yourself. ;)

Have you tried this product yet? What about the other items from the Timeless line?

Cheers,
DAWN

  1. Haven't tried this yet and it's too expensive for my budget T^T I'm currently using Etude House sun block and it's...weird. It's very sun block-like. With the oily feeling even if it's gel-type. Oh well, I'm going to finish this first before anything else.
