The Soapery Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Soap

Hello dears!

Last summer, my sister asked me to buy her some organic soaps, so I asked my friend who uses organic skin products to recommend brands that I could check out. One of her suggestions was The Soapery PH.

I bought around three types of soaps from them, one for me and one for my sis. One of the soaps I bought was the...

The Soapery Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Soap
or simply called OMH Soap.

I'm sure many of you have heard of the good skin benefits of oatmeal, milk, and honey. Oatmeal is known for soothing irritations and inflammations. The oatmeal bits also are natural exfoliators that aren't too rough so it's good for daily use. Oatmeal, along with milk and honey, are good moisturizers and have anti-aging benefits too! Honey is known for it's anti-bacterial quality while milk is good for sensitive skin and getting rid of discoloration (because it also has some sort of mild exfoliation). For more info, you can just google like I did. You'll pretty much find almost the same information and probably even more!

You can also find some information about the ingredients and the product itself from it's labels:

It's also posted in one of their Facebook post (copy/pasted it incase the photo's labels are too small):

Best Seller Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Soap (OMH)

Php 150/pc. Weighs 135-140g each

OMH soap is beneficial for softening the skin by nourishing it with its vitamin E content. This soap is hence very useful for calming several skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis and skin asthma. Along with vitamin E, this soap is also rich with other vitamins like vit. A, vit. B1, vit. B2 and vit. B6. It is rich with antioxidants that are really essential for a healthy skin and to manage free radicals. Oatmeal, its natural oil coat, moisturize, protect, and gently cleanses while correcting the pH of itchy or inflamed skin back to normal. Milk contains capric/capryllic triglycerides, an effective moisturizer that is favored for sensitive skin and helps calm itchy symptoms of eczema and other skin conditions. Honey has the ability to attract water and aids in the process of tissue regeneration. Helps aid dry skin, reduce wrinkles and acne.
For orders/inquiries, send us a PM or viber us at 0977.822.SPRY (7779).

I don't have dry skin but I do experience some sensitivity in some areas. I do get easily itchy when the weather gets dry, especially my legs. I didn't experience any of that while I'm using the soap (well, dry weather is quite rare in the Philippines). And my skin didn't get dry even if I use this daily (but there are some instances that I use other soaps just because I'm in the mood for a particular scent). I only have 1/4 of the soap left and so far it didn't gave me irritations whatsoever! I have soft skin every time I leave the shower! Yay!

I cut the soap in half before using because the 140g bar is quite big. It's also a way to "prolong" the soap because organic soaps tend to "melt" faster than commercial soaps. I think i've been using it for the past 2 months (or maybe 3?).

The scent of the OMH soap is very, very mild. It has the classic smell of oatmeal with the slight bit of sweetness. The scent doesn't linger on skin though so good news for those who do not like fragrance for skin products. And it lathers well... quite creamy actually!

So if you do have some skin sensitivity issues and are looking for a soap you can try, then I can easily recommend The Soapery's Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Soap. I'm quite satisfied with it and I'm thinking of buying another one as soon as I run out of mine. :)

Have you tried The Soapery's OMH Soap? What about their other soaps?

Introducing: Kala Milk Soaps + Review

Hello loves!

I've finally tried the first specialty bath soap made from local carabao's milk—the Kala Milk Soap! Not yet familiar with Kala Milk Soap? Well, let me introduce it to you!

The brand by the couple TJ and Nerlie Gonzales operates the Kala Milk Soap Enterprise, with the support of the Baliuag community in Bulacan. According to the brand info I received, "Nerlie oversees production and operation with assistance of helpers from the surrounding area, while TJ secures the supply of carabao's milk from local farmers. The couple has pledged to donate P1 of each sale in building a scholarship fund for the farmers' children." Awesome, right? I always love hearing about companies helping out local agricultural communities because when I support their product, I get to look good with better skin and feel good because I was able to help our kababayans.

Besides being helpful to the local community, the soaps are quite special too! What makes them unique is that it is the first-ever specialty bath soap made from local carabao's milk! It promises that their soaps contain "the highest content of good butterfat compared to other milk products, thus giving it intense moisturising properties." And because this is an organic soap, meaning it's made from ONLY natural ingredients, it won't harm the environment unlike other commercial soaps.

Kala Milk Soaps weighs 115g per bar and they come in different varieties too! They contain essential oils such as lavender, green tea, and lemongrass, which "provide additional benefits to the mind and the body."

Below are the different scents available + description (I currently have Milk and Honey and Oats):

Milk
High good butterfat content intensely moisturises while cleaning the skin.

Honey and Oats
Honey gently cleans and moisturizes the skin, while oats provide mild exfoliation to remove dead skin cells.

Lavender
Calming scent soothes the nerves and eases stress. Lavender also helps increase mental activity.

Green Tea
Cleanses and protects the skin with its antibacterial properties.

Lemongrass
Astringent properties help treat acne and other skin inflammations, while the scent stimulates and refreshes.

Peppermint
Cooling and deodorizing, as well as antibacterial. Its invigorating scent helps promote memory and relieve mental fatigue

Citronella
Refreshing scent soothes the senses and energizes the mind and the body.

Coffee
Helps minimize the appearance of cellulite and varicose veins.

I've been using Milk and Honey and Oats simultaneously for almost three weeks now. I use milk almost daily while Honey and Oats 2-3x a week for exfoliation. What do I think?

Milk really does the job of cleansing as well as provide moisture to my skin. I love milk products (whether food or skincare haha) and this will be added in my favorites for sure. It doesn't have a strong smell which is good if you don't like strong scents on your skincare. But personally, if it's milk, I like the strong, sweet kind! ;)

Honey and Oats, on the other hand, does a bit of exfoliation but will not dry the skin out! The tiny bits of oats help with removing the dead skin cells but they aren't too rough if that's what you're wondering. I think the texture is just enough so that it won't be too harsh on skin, especially if yours is quite sensitive.

The two soaps I have are really good and I would definitely want to try more, such as the Lemongrass to treat my bacne problems as well as green tea because I LOVE green tea in general. :D

If you're interested to try out Kala Milk Soaps, you can purchase them for PhP 150.00 each online thru beautymnl or visit them at Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) in Nueva Ecija (that's my province! Yay!). Hopefully, they expand their distribution sooner so that more Pinoys can try their awesome soaps!

Beauty and Bright: Skin Lightening Body Soap & Anti-Aging Serum Bar

Good evening ladies,

Today, I'll be giving my thoughts on this beauty bar by Beauty and Bright. This is one of the organic soaps that were given to us to sample. I have a hard time giving comments on soap products so, please bear with me as I try to relay to you my experience.

Packaging

There is little to comment about the packaging, the design is quite simple and straight forward. I don't really see myself buying this if I ever pass by it in the grocery since the design is plain.

As was said earlier, this soap is organic and would probably be the one reason why I'd go over and look at it to buy it.

I guess because it is organic, it has a short life span, expires after 3 years.

Ingredients list and directions for use. It's the first time I've encountered instructions to leave the soap on and let the body absorb anything. I apparently had been misusing the soap for the first few weeks that I've tried it. Good thing I came across the instructions.

Performance

I cannot really comment on the lightening effect of this product since I don't notice those details as keenly although I did notice a certain lightness to my color, almost like a glow. As for the anti-ageing properties, that I cannot comment since I'm not really sure how people quantify ageing of the skin. If they mean anti-ageing when the product makes their skin feel soft and smooth, then I'd say, this product has successfully done that. But real skin ageing is seen under the scope, and that proof I cannot comment on.

The bar has a lovely scent though. It smells strongly of moringa which adds to the fresh smell of lemon, making your bath time the freshest and most invigorating part of the day.

That's all I can comment on this soap. Hope to encounter it in the stores so I can further see it's effects.

Cheers,
LIZ

Review : Mir & Ryvi Tomato Soap Acne-Cleansing Bar

Hey dears!

I've made a review on one of Mir & Ryvi's soaps, their papaya soap, and I've stated that I liked the product a lot. I thought that that was my favorite from the brand but after I used this one, I've concluded that their Tomato Soap is.

Mir & Ryvi Tomato Soap Acne-Cleansing Bar
I got this from Salad box. But a full-size bar is Php 250.00.

Here are pictures of what's labeled on the packaging:

More info from Beauty Bar:

If you are allergic to common acne cleansing bar that has benzoyl peroxide, Erythromycin or Salycid Acid , this is the best natural alternative for you.

The soap is a combination of tomato extract from organic farm in Laguna and acne-fighting extracts (Copaifera officinalis oil, Carapa guaianensis nut oil and Euterpe oleracea) from Rainforest of Amazon. Individual & Peer Test Evaluation revealed that 90% of the users experienced improvements in their acne-prone parts. Based on the anecdotal claims of the soap users, their face becomes more matte and pinkish too.

Here's a picture of the product:

This soap has a very faint smell. It foams well too and the foam feels soft on skin. When I rinse it off, it doesn't make my skin feel dry. It effectively gets rid of excess oil and dirt as well.

Acne has been a huge issue to me and a major concern is the bacne! This soap helps a lot on this. It makes my pimples dry faster and prevents new ones from appearing. I've used up the soap now and I'll probably buy a new bar so that my mission to clear my back from acne will finally be complete! Though this isn't the only product I use for my back. I also use my Snoe Shoo-Zit Spray Me From Behind.

Have you tried the soaps from Mir & Ryvi?
Which one is your favorite? :)

Mir and Ryvi Papaya Soap Skin Lightening Beauty Bar

Happy weekend, loves!!

Time to sit back, relax and enjoy your free time from work/school! :)

Before I hit the sack early because I'm just unusually tired, let me leave you with a short review on this organic soap I received from my April GlamourBox:
Mir and Ryvi Papaya Soap Skin Lightening Beauty Bar
I only have a sample size but the full size is PhP 250.00.

Some info about the product from the website:

Skin Lightening Papaya Soap
Exposure to UV radition and other pollutants can make skin dull and dark. Our skin lightening bar naturally helps make a fairer skin. Papaya enzymes work as exfoliator. Our mulberry extract, sourced from the Jeju Island, has been clinically proven effective in inhibiting the tyrosinase activity on the skin. Tyrosinase activity is responsible for melanin production that, in turn, darkens skin. The mulberry extract is highly potent yet very gentle. Our soap naturally makes skin fairer without the side effects of hydroquinone.

Organic Papaya
     • natural exfoliator
     • rich in skin vitamins such as A, E and C
     • age-old skin practice in the Philippines in lightening one’s skin

Mulberry Extract
•clinically proven effective in inhibiting the production of melanin
     • effective for natural treatment of hyper pigmentation
     • non-irritant

Vitamin B3
     • proven effective as skin lightening

Combination of Vitamin E and other essential oils
     • skin moisturizer
     • supports the skin renewal, leaving a healthy skin inside and out
     • helps in achieving a glowing skin

List of Ingredients:

And below is the actual product:

I've been using organic soaps for quite some time now and been loving them more than ever! And this bar from Mir and Ryvi is no exception. This smells pleasant and leaves my skin feeling clean whenever I use this. This product is mild on skin—never dried my skin nor caused irritations. It doesn't lather much though and it dissolves faster than the ordinary soaps, which is the case of most organic soaps anyway.

I do believe this does help lighten my skin. I actually got a little darker from a swimming getaway with my friends last month. I also walk under the sun everyday during high noon under the intense heat of the sun. I usually fear that I'll get my skintone more uneven because of too much exposure to sun. But I'm happy to say that my skin actually lightened thanks to my sunblock and using this bar from Mir and Ryvi. For now, they are the only ones I use that helps block the sun and lighten my skin.

Have you tried Mir and Ryvi Papaya Soap Skin Lightening Beauty Bar?
What about their other variants?

Snoe White Exfoliating Oatmeal Scrub and Beauty Bar

Hey loves!

Tonight I will share with you a double review once again but from the same brand - Snoe Beauty! I've been loving some of their skin care line that's why I'm willing to try out more products from them...

The products I'll be sharing my thoughts on are items I bought some months ago. They were together in a promo (only bought both for Php 388.00) which saved me around Php100.00... Nice deal, eh?

Snoe White Exfoliating Oatmeal Beauty Bar and Snoe White Exfoliating Oatmeal & Milk Whitening Scrub

Let's go over the Beauty bar first...

Snoe White Exfoliating Oatmeal Beauty Bar

A bar is around P139.00 each.

Some info from the website:

With real oatmeal grains for gentle and effective exfoliation
  • Relieves dryness, restoring skin’s natural balance
  • Helps to soothe skin irritation and reduce discomfort from skin problems
  • Mild, exfoliating soap with whitening action that rejuvenates and softens the skin
Active Ingredients: Oatmeal, Goats Milk, Jojoba Oil, Papain, Vitamin C and E , High Grade Coconut Oil

This bar was recommended to me by the SA since I was looking for a beauty bar that mildly exfoliates. And true enough, it does take care of removing my dead skin cells and reveals a brighter and smoother skin. Although it is exfoliating, it never made my skin dry and it always leave my skin feeling soft and smelling like sweet milky oatmeal. Yum!

Besides doing it's job so effectively, it never gave me any skin irritations. Most probably because it's mostly organic. You will also see some bits of oatmeal in the bar that helps with further exfoliation!

This soap lathers up well. Very foamy which I really like since I feel cleaner when I wash it off. It's probably just psychologic but I just feel like it washes the dirt off my body when it's foamier. Haha! But just like most organic soaps, this bar melts faster. A tip from Liz is that you cut the soap in half or in 3 equal parts so that it will last longer.

Since this sort of does some sort of mild peeling, you should always remember to use sunscreen... well, even if you don't use this, you should always wear sunscreen. :P

And now, the Oatmeal Scrub...

Snoe White Exfoliating Oatmeal & Milk Whitening Scrub

Some info from the website:

Oatmeal
  • Relieves dryness, restoring natural moisture balance to aid in healing minor irritations.
  • Gently removes dead skin cells, to reveal softer, smoother looking skin.
Milk
  • Rich in vitamins A, D, and E.
  • Aids in strengthening skin’s resistance to harsh elements.
  • Combats dehydrated skin while exfoliating outer layers of the epidermis.
The ultimate opulent bathing indulgence. It dates back to Cleopatra, who used milk for its rich texture and moisturizing qualities. Snoe White’s Exfoliating Oatmeal & Milk Whitening Scrub uses real milk in the formulations to carry milk’s intrinsic benefits forward.
A delicious way to exfoliate, it is sure to feed your hunger for beautiful whiter skin. Pleasure your body with this appetizing body scrub fortified with Oatmeal that is guaranteed to bring out your inner radiance and polished glow.

How to Use:

Apply gently to wet skin in circular motion. Leave on for 3 minutes, and then rinse off with water.

Warnings:

For external use only. Discontinue use if signs of irritation occur. Do not use on wounds or broken skin. If eye contact occurs, wash with water immediately. Do not swallow product. Keep out of reach of children.

Ingredients:

  • Sea Salt, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Nonfat Dry Milk, Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal, JuglansRegia( Walnut) Shell Powder, Cerica Papaya Extract, Fragrance, Citrus Microcarpa (Calamansi Extract), Goat Milk Powder, Yellow 5, Yellow 6

The bottle is sold for Php 349.00 each.

As you can see on the labels (and all products from the brand), you have a complete set of info from product description to ingredients and warnings, even the manufacturing and expiration dates and Batch Code Number!

I use this twice a week usually at my back area and once a week at the rest of my body. It helps exfoliate further my skin. You're probably wondering why I need so much exfoliation... it's because I have so much dark marks from acne at the back area (Curse my acne-prone skin!!!) and the combination of both really made these marks lessen- these products really brighten them!

I use this while I take my shower/bath. I massage it on wet skin gently. The scrubs are gritty and just enough to exfoliate the right amount of dead skin. I like my scrubs gritty but not too rough which can be harsh to the skin. I'm not much of a fan of the scent of this one. When you rinse it off, the skin is so soft and smooth! I feel so young!

And for the scent... I guess, though I like the milk scents, it's just too salty smelling for my taste. :P

And before I forget, I love the packaging! This is for both products. I just love the design and the materials used for Snoe products. It's comparable with products from abroad! I'm a fan of whoever designs them! :)

So that's it for this double review. Obviously, I like these products a lot and they really go hand-in-hand! I'll definitely purchase these again but probably try other scents first. Haha!

For more info on Snoe and their products, visit their website, Facebook, or Twitter!

Have you tried these products yet? What are your thoughts on them?

Review : Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Clarifying Soap

Hello Loves!

Hope you all are doing well this awesome Wednesday.
For today's post, here's a review on...
Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Clarifying Soap
I got this from my October Salad Box.
But you can purchase a 135g bar for only Php 150.00 and can be ordered online on their website.

I barely know much about Camaru Naturals before I got this bar.
I've seen some posts regarding this from other blogs and they do say that it is a must-try. Since I have been focusing on my skin care lately, I was excited when I saw that this is included in my Salad Box.

Once I opened the packaging, this is what I saw:

A soap that is charcoal black in color!
I tried smelling it and it's scent is quite different from any common soaps out there. It is neither citrus-y nor floral - I can't really describe the exact smell. It's not all bamboo but it is safe to say that it is mildly scented so it is not much of a concern for me.
So upon visiting their website, I saw this photo about this particular soap:

Interesting, eh?
Which really hyped up my excitement since I have oily, acne-prone skin!

So I did a little more browsing at their website and found these interesting infos regarding this soap:

TREATING YOUR SKIN with BAMBOO CHARCOAL SOAP.
Bamboo Charcoal also called "Takesumi" in Japanese, is widely used in Japan to rejuvenate the skin. This natural element has been used in Japan for many years because of its detoxifying power. It has naturally occurring anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties. It effectively cleanses and unclogs pores, removing impurities and dead skin cells from the top layer of the skin, leaving skin supple, delicate and smooth. The bamboo charcoal soap, acts as an antioxidant and regular use can help clear blemished skin.

Activated bamboo charcoal is added to the organic soap to allow it to draw dirt from deep inside the pores. This gives the acne skin a clean like no soap can clean and the feeling is quite noticeable. Once our pores our cleaned thoroughly our body provides natural moisturizes back to the acne skin allowing the skin to breathe plus leaving the skin incredibly soft and revitalized. Unlike bamboo charcoal soap, most soaps will leave a residue on our skin after washing and this blocks the skins natural moisturizers from coating the skin.

Strong odor control - Super clean feeling
The combination of bamboo activated charcoal and glycerin in our soap is what gives this organic soap it's ability to clean & moisturize your skin and keep you feeling fresh all day long. Minutes after washing with a typical soap you feel your skin oils start to return, this is because they only clean on the outside of the skin. To unclog the dirt that builds up under our body skin use bamboo charcoal soap to daily and you will smell how clean your skin is. Great for sports enthusiasts and people with odor problems. You need a bar of this in your gym bag to clean you after a sweaty workout. Results are seen and felt after the first use.

Phew! That was quite long, huh?
But upon reading these, I thought that this is the soap for me! I have been battling with pimples and acne for oh so long and I am just desparate to find a solution for it! But of course I am looking for something that I can afford and something that is also safe for my sensitive skin.

So anyway, let's explore the packaging first.
Camaru Naturals, being an environmentally friendly brand, packaged the soap in paper instead of plastic. It's also cruelty-free, meaning they do not test on animals. And oh, did I mention that their products are 100% Philippine made? Cool!

Labeled in their packaging is the manufacturing and expiration date.
It also says that it is Paraben Free which is a really good thing! Click here to know why.
Directions for use, Ingredients, Product Description and Manufacturer's details are also included.

So on to the soap...

The foam created by the soap is of greyish color. It's not something that you'll actually look forward to with soaps since it might seem like you're all dirty. Though it does have a somehow silky feeling on skin.

But once you rinse it off, you will have a clean squeeky feeling!

I am almost done with my first bar in a matter of 2 to 3 weeks. It dissolves quickly but it's not something new to me since I'm used to using organic soaps.

Regarding my acne/bacne problem, it's still there.
It did help lessen the appearances though but I still get a few every now and then.
I dunno if it really whitens since I have somewhat fair skin now (I am always indoors... booo). What I like about this soap is that even if it promises to fight pimples and other impurities, it never dried my skin like other soaps that promises the same effect.

So that's all for my thoughts regarding Camaru Naturals Bamboo Charcoal Clarifying Soap. ♥

Have you tried this soap yet? How about other Camaru Naturals products?

Cheers!
