The Soapery Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Soap

Hello dears!

Last summer, my sister asked me to buy her some organic soaps, so I asked my friend who uses organic skin products to recommend brands that I could check out. One of her suggestions was The Soapery PH.

I bought around three types of soaps from them, one for me and one for my sis. One of the soaps I bought was the...

The Soapery Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Soap
or simply called OMH Soap.

I'm sure many of you have heard of the good skin benefits of oatmeal, milk, and honey. Oatmeal is known for soothing irritations and inflammations. The oatmeal bits also are natural exfoliators that aren't too rough so it's good for daily use. Oatmeal, along with milk and honey, are good moisturizers and have anti-aging benefits too! Honey is known for it's anti-bacterial quality while milk is good for sensitive skin and getting rid of discoloration (because it also has some sort of mild exfoliation). For more info, you can just google like I did. You'll pretty much find almost the same information and probably even more!

You can also find some information about the ingredients and the product itself from it's labels:

It's also posted in one of their Facebook post (copy/pasted it incase the photo's labels are too small):

Best Seller Oatmeal, Milk & Honey Soap (OMH)

Php 150/pc. Weighs 135-140g each

OMH soap is beneficial for softening the skin by nourishing it with its vitamin E content. This soap is hence very useful for calming several skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis and skin asthma. Along with vitamin E, this soap is also rich with other vitamins like vit. A, vit. B1, vit. B2 and vit. B6. It is rich with antioxidants that are really essential for a healthy skin and to manage free radicals. Oatmeal, its natural oil coat, moisturize, protect, and gently cleanses while correcting the pH of itchy or inflamed skin back to normal. Milk contains capric/capryllic triglycerides, an effective moisturizer that is favored for sensitive skin and helps calm itchy symptoms of eczema and other skin conditions. Honey has the ability to attract water and aids in the process of tissue regeneration. Helps aid dry skin, reduce wrinkles and acne.

I don't have dry skin but I do experience some sensitivity in some areas. I do get easily itchy when the weather gets dry, especially my legs. I didn't experience any of that while I'm using the soap (well, dry weather is quite rare in the Philippines). And my skin didn't get dry even if I use this daily (but there are some instances that I use other soaps just because I'm in the mood for a particular scent). I only have 1/4 of the soap left and so far it didn't gave me irritations whatsoever! I have soft skin every time I leave the shower! Yay!

I cut the soap in half before using because the 140g bar is quite big. It's also a way to "prolong" the soap because organic soaps tend to "melt" faster than commercial soaps. I think i've been using it for the past 2 months (or maybe 3?).

The scent of the OMH soap is very, very mild. It has the classic smell of oatmeal with the slight bit of sweetness. The scent doesn't linger on skin though so good news for those who do not like fragrance for skin products. And it lathers well... quite creamy actually!

So if you do have some skin sensitivity issues and are looking for a soap you can try, then I can easily recommend The Soapery's Oatmeal, Milk and Honey Soap. I'm quite satisfied with it and I'm thinking of buying another one as soon as I run out of mine. :)

Have you tried The Soapery's OMH Soap? What about their other soaps?

The Body Shop Honeymania Soap

Good evening ladies,

Recently The Body Shop launched a bunch of honey-filled products and gone and tried a couple of them. Today, I give to you the Honeymania Soap.

The shape of the soap is quite interesting as it mimics the cells inside a honey comb. Also the design is quite simple yet straight forward and attractive. Sadly, like all soaps, once you use it, the design is no more.

Like all products from TBS, the honey is from Ethiopia as a part of their Community Fair Trade. According to their US website:

Here's the full ingredients list:

- from www.thebodyshop-usa.com

So this product promises silky smooth skin, luxurious lather, and a rich floral scent which for me, it meets 100%.

The most outstanding quality of this soap for me was the scent. It is very very fragrant to the point that I did not want to use it as a soap and just leave it inside my closet as an air freshener. They weren't kidding with the honey coming from 1000 wild flowers.

You only need minimal water to get the soap to lather up. At first I was a little sad that I couldn't chop up the soap into smaller pieces so I can maximize it, but after the first use, I realized I only needed a half a handful of water to wet the product and make it lather. After that, it pretty much works like a foam wash.

After bathing, the skin feels smooth, no film-y feeling, and no dryness afterwards. The scent lingers on the skin for at least 2 hours then fades off.

The soap does melt off quick so if you're using it, make sure you dry the soap thoroughly so that it lasts longer. I would not, however recommend it to anyone who does not like strong scents. Other than those, this is a great beauty soap to use.

Hope you guys try it out for yourself. Next time I buy one, I might just go with my plan of leaving it in my closet as an air freshener. :)

Cheers,
LIZ

Something New: The Body Shop's Honeymania Collection

Hey guys!

A few days ago, I received this set from The Body Shop.

These are skincare products from their newest collection—Honeymania! I've seen them before in TBS' International Facebook Page and was very curious to smell it because they kept saying that it smells really good. So when I got the package, I would have to agree. It smells sooooo good! I haven't opened the package and the scent can already be smelled.

It's not exactly all honey in terms of the scent. It has a bit of floral smell... like honey made fresh from the flower fields where the bees got it from. I'm not really good with words so just trust me when I say that you have to smell this collection for yourself.

With the package came a press release. It contains product info about the collection so let me share them with you. :)

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Honey

Hello ladies!

Just sharing this really nice nude lipstick I bought from Smashbox.

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick
I bought it in a discounted price of Php 787.50 at Beauty Bar. Regular price was Php 1,050.00.

The shade I got is Honey.

Labels on the box

The packaging is pretty simple and I really find it cute.

I've been using really bold colors lately so this is like a breath of fresh air since the color is nude and light.

Below is a closeup picture:

It's very creamy and moisturizing. Lasting power is fairly decent.

Swatch on lips

It's such a lovely color!
I'm so happy I was able to grab this while it was on sale.

Any thoughts on this lippie? Do you like these shades?

Looking Warm and Healthy with San San Cheek Blushers

Hey guys!

Look and feel the warmth this Christmas with peachy, warm shades of blushes!
The days are starting to cool and we can actually go out with thicker and longer clothes and survive the day without dehydration! Haha!
But kidding aside, having flushed cheeks is a great look this holiday season and you can achieve it using these...

San San Cheek Blushers
I have them in 4 shades which are all gifts for me from HBC.
Each blush is around Php 100.00 each. Looking great feels even better when you can achieve it with affordable prices! :D
Each weighs 8g too.

These blushes are housed in the signature San San packaging.
Above pics are the details/labels on the box.

Important details on the boxes include:
It has SPF 15
Contains Vitamin A, C, and E
Includes list of ingredients
States the manufacturing and expiration date

The blush is carefully cased inside the box with a thin layer of protection (it's Styrofoam if I am not mistaken) to avoid the blush getting broken.

It also includes a blush brush!
Though I don't really use it since it is too small and not soft enough.

So on to the fun part!
SWATCHES!!!

(From left to right: Peach, Mocha, Rosy, and Honey)

on my arm
(From left to right: Peach, Mocha, Rosy, and Honey)

They are all warm and earthy. They would definitely suit most skin types!
They are a bit powdery but is pigmented enough to be seen even with just one swipe.

Here are pictures of me wearing each of the shades

Peach Blush

Mocha Blush (I use it more as a bronzer)

Rosy Blush

Honey Blush

If I have to choose which one is my favorite... I'm kinda torn between the Peach Blush or the Rosy Blush. They just look good with the makeup looks I do... well, they all are!
They aren't as long lasting as my more expensive blushes though but I don't mind retouching. Besides, it's so affordable I don't mind using it over and over!

Have you tried San San Cheek Blushers yet?
Which shade do you like the most?

Cheers!
