Review : Biore UV Perfect Face Milk

Hey lovelies!

Everyday it's getting hotter and hotter. Summer is here whether you like it or not. Since the temperature is rising, no one wants to wear long-sleeves or anything with thick fabrics. This means more of our skin would be exposed to the sun! With this in mind, we better have our sunscreens ready. The one I'm using now is...

Biore UV Perfect Face Milk
This is priced I think around PhP 380.00.

What I find very interesting about this product, besides having SPF50+ and PA++++, is the part that it's oil control and has moisturizing qualities! Check out the labels below for more info on usage, ingredients, and precautionary advice:

I already happy about the oil control part, but when I read that it can double as a makeup base and it is also waterproof blew me away! ALL of these qualities are something that I prefer in skincare products! Just reading these claims got me more excited about this product.

The Biore UV Perfect Face Milk is included in their Biorè UV Perfect Series. It has three variants. Here's what the range is about from the press release I received a year ago:

Biorè UV Perfect series products are ultra-light and non-sticky with a matte or powder finish. Skin feels comfortable and smooth while enjoying maximum UV protection. They are all sweat and water proof and works as perfect make-up base .

The product looks like milk! It's runny and non-sticky so application is pretty easy on the face. The finish is matte, no white residue, and it makes the skin instantly smooth and ready for makeup application! It's lightweight too! The scent is barely there, but I do smell a bit of alcohol there... because there is alcohol here. I know that many avoid skincare with alcohol since it might dry the skin, but so far, I don't have a problem with it and I'm almost done with the whole bottle.

It does have oil control, but I also try to use makeup that also help control sebum production like adding powder. The waterproof part is pretty hard to test so I can't really guarantee you guys about that claim. It does do a good job as a makeup base because my skin just feels so smooth but the "evening-out of skin tone" claim part is questionable since this is sheer and I really don't see the difference.

As mentioned, I am almost done with the whole bottle and I didn't encounter any irritations, and breakouts! Yay!

So here's a summary of my experience with the Biore UV Perfect Face Milk:

What I LIKE:

- Provides SPF50 and PA++++
- Oil control
- Locally available
- Waterproof? (maybe)
- Matte and smooth finish
- Affordable
- Easy to use packaging (easy-squeeze with thin nozzle)
- Lightweight
- Moisturizing
- No breakouts nor irritations
- No white residue when applied

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Nothing, really.

I really like this sunscreen to be honest. Having oily skin and as a makeup enthusiast, this product is just awesome! The amount of sun protection it provides is just enough for everyday (although for longer periods of exposure to the sun, especially on places like the beach, I still recommend something with stronger protection). This is a multipurpose product and I definitely recommend you check it out!

NYX Butter gloss in Red Velvet

Hi dearies!

I'm a fan of bold, matte, red lipsticks, but there are times where I like to make my look extra fun with a glossy finish. Here's a product that gives just that—red and glossy!

NYX Butter gloss in Red Velvet

This product was given by my friend along with other three butter glosses of the same brand.

Check out the product info on the labels:

Description from the website:

Buttery soft and silky smooth, our decadent Butter Gloss is now available in 12 more sumptuous shades! Each glossy color delivers sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky, leaving your lips soft, supple and kissable.

Ingredients:
Mineral Oil/Paraffinum Liquidum/Huile Minérale, Polybutene, Diisostearyl Malate, Beeswax/Cera Alba/Cire d’Abeille, Silica Dimethyl Silylate [NANO], Microcrystalline Wax/Cera Microcristallina/Cire Microcristalline, Polyethylene, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Paraffin, Barium Sulfate (CI 77120), Rosin/Colophonium/Colophane, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance/Parfum. MAY CONTAIN / PEUT CONTENIR (+/-): Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 6 (CI 15850), Red 7 (CI 15850), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140).

It's not the boldest red lipgloss that I have but this shade is simple and quite flirty! You'll see what I mean when you see the swatches later.

Here's the applicator. It holds enough product to cover both lips.

Anyway, here are the swatches:

on my hand

on the lips

It's just a fun lippie and it doubles as a balm... sort of... well, it just never dried my lips. And I also don't get lipstick bleeds with this on. And the best thing about this is the sweet fragrance of this product! It smells sooooooo delicious (but it doesn't have any taste so you don't eat it off the lips, haha!).

Have you tried any of NYX's Butter Glosses? What shade?

The Body Shop Spa of the World Japanese Camellia Cream

Hello loves!

Right at this moment, I'm thinking of every deadlines I have to meet in a few weeks time. I guess some of my worries are also my fault because of procrastinating (I didn't do much during the holy week vacation). The summer heat is making my mood even worse. The only thing that is making me happy right now is the scent of the The Body Shop Japanese Camellia Cream that I just applied.

I actually got this a few months back and I really loved how it smells. I'm almost done with the whole tub and I think I'll feel sad once it's gone. :P

Info from the website:

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Japanese women have used camellia oil since the 8th century to gently soften and moisturise skin. The exquisite scent of this pure and elegant flower allows mind and body to reconnect with a moment of profound peace. Use this rich body cream with a light, velvety texture as part of our relaxing ritual when you’re in need of a fast-track to tranquility.
  • Velvet moisture body cream
  • Makes skin feel beautifully hydrated and delicately scented
  • Relaxes body and mind
  • With camellia oil from Japan

And details on the packaging:

The Spa of the World range is composed of different kinds of products from scrubs to creams and the Japanese Camellia cream is just one of the skincare products included.

I have a soft spot for Japanese stuff (not the Daiso stuff, but I like shopping there. Haha!). I love reading about their culture and art (from their classic woodblock prints to the recent anime phenomenon). I like how disciplined and polite the people there are as told by friends who've been there. And I also love how quirky and weird their commercials are, which I usually watch when I need some quick laugh. So the Japanese Camellia Cream was the one that stood up to me the most when I saw the four products from the Spa of the World range. Check out Liz's post for product details of the other products from the range.

The products are housed in this very luxe packaging. It's very different from the tubs I'm used to seeing when it comes to TBS' body butters. This packaging looks very classy and I will surely recycle this once I've finished the whole tub.

The scent of the product is floral and it can really change any bad mood into a good one. It's invigorating but at the same time soothing. The cream is thick but I don't feel sticky when I apply it. The hydration it gives is enough for my skin when used daily. You can instantly feel the skin softer when applied and the scent lasts a while on me, which I love because I just love the smell so much. This really is an instant pamper and uplifter!

I recommend you check out the Spa of The World Skin care range from The Body Shop, especially the Japanese Camellia Cream. I am sure you won't regret it!

Review : FS Cosmetics Concealer in Sand

Hello loves!

Because it's the holy week, we don't have office work for the next few days and that means I have time to work on some of my school requirements as well as do some product reviews for the blog. :)

Today I will share with you my review of...

FS Cosmetics Concealer in Sand

This concealer stick costs around PhP 400.00.

But before I get onto the review, let's talk about the brand. To tell you the truth, I was confused about the part that it's now called Features and Shades because what I knew was that the "FS" stood for Fanny Serrano. It turns out that their contract has ended and this led to the rebirth of the brand. The brand now has a new look and even released some new products recently!

I'm no stranger to FS Cosmetics. I have used some of their products before and I've been a fan of their two-way cake foundations and their eyelash curlers. Yay!

Anyway, let's proceed with this concealer's review. :)

Let's get to know the product from the labels of the package:

The details on the website is pretty much the same as what is written on the box:

"Foundation stick that flawlessly covers blemishes. It has SPF40+ PA+++ to protect skin against harmful rays from the sun."

This product is available in four shades and Sand is the lightest.
What I like about their shades is that all of them are Filipina skin color-friendly. Most of them are in the warm shade, which I think majority of Filipinas have.

It is a concealer but according to the package label and on the website, it's a foundation stick. It can double as your foundation because the product is lightweight! It's a good foundation if you wish to get that heavy coverage for a flawless finish. I wish they could mention that on the labels to avoid confusion.

Other than being a foundation, it can also protect us from the sun for it promises to give SPF40 and PA+++. It's quite a good amount of protection, although since the sun is extra intense because of the coming summer, I still recommend wearing a stronger sunscreen underneath. :)

Anyway, here are the swatches:

Sand is very close to my color so blending it to the skin is easy. It easily became a second skin when applied. See the photos below:

Bare skin (I used this as a foundation and then as a concealer for my undereyes)

With the product as a foundation then added more on the under eyes

When blended

The finish is awesome. It's not entirely matte and not dewy as well, it actually still looks like skin. Coverage is good and buildable as seen on the photos above. There's barely any scent so that's good news to those who do not like scented products.

This product also claims to be waterproof. I can't say if this is true because I haven't tested it yet but I can say it's water-resistant or sweat-resistant because it can stay on my skin even during the summer heat! It's very long-lasting even on my oily skin. It's just not good at the oil-control department. My face get's very shiny within 3-4 hours of wearing. But by blotting the oil off every now and then, this can pretty much stay the whole day on my face. And lastly, I did not encounter any breakout or irritations.

To summarize...

What I LIKE:
- Medium to heavy coverage
- Natural finish
- The shade is close to my skin color
- Lightweight
- Has SPF 40 and PA+++
- Locally made
- Easily accessible (available in more than 60 stores/malls nationwide)
- Affordable
- Water resistant
- Long-lasting
- Simple and sturdy packaging

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Although it doesn't promise to do any oil control, I still prefer foundations that do
- It's only available in 4 shades. I would prefer more, especially since it doubles as a foundation

As seen on the summary, there's a lot to love about this foundation. I'm absolutely loving the fact that our local brands are stepping up their game and giving us good quality products. The FS Cosmetics concealer-foundation is a great product to try especially for those who are on-the-go that prefer easy application, good coverage, and long lasting power for their base makeup. I definitely recommend that you try this out... and if you're not a fan of cream foundies, you can also try their two-way cake foundation. ;)

Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art in Peach Prism

Hey loves!

I found yet another peach color makeup that I most probably be using a lot in the coming days... It's the...

Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art in Peach Prism

What made me buy this was the shade. I've mentioned, pretty much a lot, how much I love peach or pink salmon colors. So when I saw this, I just had to have it! Peach is a really nice color to add brightness around the eyes. You can never go wrong with this color. :P

Original price is PhP 650.00, but I was able to get it for only PhP 468.75 when it was on sale.

See the photos below for product details:

More details from the website:

Dazzle with the latest in makeup artistry. Coordinating shadow duos with satin and sparkle finishes create unique, customized eye looks.

Coordinated shades and contrasting finishes make it easy to design an eye look that’s all your own.
Intensely pigmented cream shadow on one end, and a brilliant sparkle on the other.
Cream shadow glides on effortlessly for smooth, rich color.
Use the slim brush applicator to apply sparkle to the lid, as a liner or on the tips of lashes.
There are 10 shades available on the web.

One end is glittery. It's a mixture of gold and peach and a hint of either purple or blue glitters. Great for creating those tear drop liner effects.

The other is a cream shadow that's a warmer champagne color. A very wearable base color for your eyes.

Below are photos of the applicators of each end:

Both applicators are effective in getting enough product to color or line the lids. I just wish the one for the glitter is thinner (just like the one from Majolica Majorca for comparison) so I can create a slimmer, more precise line.

These are the swatches:

Very PRETTY! :D

The shades are so wearable! The champagne base color is very simple but with the addition of the glitters, it creates this playful and brighter look.

Check out below what they look like when applied on my lids:

Here's the shadow only

Added some glitters on the lids

and glitters at the bottom lash line

I just added some bronze and brown eyeshadows at the outer corners of my eyes to add depth. This would be a simple, yet dramatic look that you can wear either during the day or at night time!

The shadow is very lightweight. You do have to wait for a few seconds for it to dry when applied but once it settles, it's like you're not wearing any eyeshadow. The glitter takes longer to dry though. I do have to recommend using a good eyeshadow primer when you use this because without primer, it will only last a good four hours on my oily lids. I use my Dior Eye Primer and this look can last the whole day!

So what do you think of Revlon PhotoReady Eye Art in Peach Prism?
