Hello dearies!

I just finished this sunscreen bottle that I will be talking about in today's post. While looking for further information about this, I was surprised that it has already been discontinued because I happen to like it. It's the...

Japan Trip (2018) Haul

Hello loves!

It's been three weeks since I got back from our trip to Japan. This time I went to Kyoto and Osaka.

Japan is such a beautiful country and I've always wanted to visit ever since I got obsessed with Anime when I was ten years old. Haha! I'm so fascinated with their art, fashion, and food that I just had to go back. Last year I was in Tokyo and I really enjoyed that trip and that is why I just had to go back and see more of what the country has to offer.

My family decided to go during the spring to see the beautiful trees and flowers. My mom loves looking at them. Our trip to Tokyo last year was during the winter and it was too cold that we couldn't stay outside for a long period of time. Now we get to enjoy a view like these...

Tokyo Trip 2017 Haul

Hello loves!

I just got back last weekend from a week-long vacation trip at Tokyo, Japan. It was COOOOLD, but every place we visited was beautiful! I enjoyed all the sceneries and all the delicious food! Even the food from their convenience stores are yummmm! Konbini food rules!!!

I also did some shopping, mostly art materials and beauty products. It was fun looking at items, but it can be quite intimidating because most are in Nihonggo and I have no idea what they are about or what they are even called. They are quite pricey too if you compare them to the prices of the same products in the Philippines or even in South Korea. But I love me some Japanese beauty products, especially their eye makeup and cleansing lotions. So I still splurged some money and bought some goodies to take home with me. And in this post, I'll show them to you. ;)

Miracle Romance Clear Compact Face Powder

I actually do not need this. I have quite a number of face powders at home... but it's SAILORMOON!!! I just had to have it!

Bifesta Cleansing Lotions

I already bought two just because I love how effective it is while still being affordable.

Shiseido Rosarium Rose Water Mist

This smells amazing! I wanted to get the whole line... but I don't have the budget for it. I like mists though because it makes me feel refreshed so I chose to get the mist. I bought two because the other one is for my officemate (she requested that I get her a mist and she'll pay me when I get back).

More mists! A Ladanomy Collagen Mist and Freshel Skin Freshener

Cure Natural Aqua Gel

It was only 2.5k Yen, so why not?

I ran out of some skin care stuff so I bought these (they're pretty cheap and pretty good!)

Biore UV Aqua Rich Gel Lotion (GEL?! I wanna try!!!)
Tsururi Pore Cleansing Morocco Ghassoul Andes Salt Scrub Power Hot Stone
Shiseido Oil Blotting Paper

Aroma Resort Body Milk in Dreamy Bloom Rose
CoenRich Q10 Whitening Medicated Hand Cream

Another cheap buys I used to keep my skin moisturized... I also finished off all the lotions I brought with me. LOL

Heroine Make Beauty Charge CC Powder

Not only does it look cute, it's velvety smooth when I swatched it... so I bought one! Haha!

Club Airy Touch Mist (more mists! Haha! This is a gift from my aunt actually)
DHC Lip Cream (It's a pretty good balm to keep my lips hydrated)

Chacott for Professionals Finishing Powder
It was included in a beauty store's best seller list so I was curious to try it.

Club Maji Karu Base
A makeup base with SPF50 and tint? AWESOME!

KATE Powderless Liquid for COVER

I've always been curious about this when I swatched it in the PH counters. It was sold in a more affordable prize there so I got one so I can finally try it out

LIPS and HIPS products
Includes a Makeup Base, True Skin Foundation, Spot Cover, Skin Veil Powder, Ever Long Mascara, and a lippie!

I bought this set because it was 83% off! I was able to get six products for only 2k Yen!

Ummm... I don't know how to read the Hello Kitty Liner... but yeah, it's pretty much because it's Hello Kitty that I bought it. And Japanese eyeliners rarely let me down. ;)

The other one is another product I cant't read... I just wanna try another product that I'm not familiar with, to be honest. :P

Hurria Eye Gloss Clear
I wanna try the watery eyeshadow look!

KATE Eyebrow Color
Because I need to do something about my dark brows

My sister also requested I get her some eye products! I got her these:

Love Liner Liquid in Rich Black
Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner
Dolly Wink Long Mascara

Kiss Me Heroine Make Eyebrow Pencil
Kanebo Media Eyebrow Pencil

That's all for the beauty haul... I shopped some more for art materials of course...

I wouldn't type each one anymore since it's not beauty related but I just wanna mention how awesome the store called Sekaido is! It's a building containing art materials! If you're looking for good pens, pencils, inks, and other drawing materials, then Sekaido is a must-visit!

And I just gotta share this beautiful package of their Meiji Chocolate! I got them as pasalubong for some friends. ;)

Finally, GREEN TEA / Matcha Food! I love green tea and I indulged myself with all the green tea drinks and desserts that I can when I was there. I also took home some which you can see above. Unfortunately, I didn't get those luxurious tea sets and real matcha leaves. Maybe next time...

Anyway, that's all for now. If you're interested to read a review about any of the products above, let me know in the comments below! ;)

Review : Biore UV Perfect Face Milk

Hey lovelies!

Everyday it's getting hotter and hotter. Summer is here whether you like it or not. Since the temperature is rising, no one wants to wear long-sleeves or anything with thick fabrics. This means more of our skin would be exposed to the sun! With this in mind, we better have our sunscreens ready. The one I'm using now is...

Biore UV Perfect Face Milk
This is priced I think around PhP 380.00.

What I find very interesting about this product, besides having SPF50+ and PA++++, is the part that it's oil control and has moisturizing qualities! Check out the labels below for more info on usage, ingredients, and precautionary advice:

I already happy about the oil control part, but when I read that it can double as a makeup base and it is also waterproof blew me away! ALL of these qualities are something that I prefer in skincare products! Just reading these claims got me more excited about this product.

The Biore UV Perfect Face Milk is included in their Biorè UV Perfect Series. It has three variants. Here's what the range is about from the press release I received a year ago:

Biorè UV Perfect series products are ultra-light and non-sticky with a matte or powder finish. Skin feels comfortable and smooth while enjoying maximum UV protection. They are all sweat and water proof and works as perfect make-up base .

The product looks like milk! It's runny and non-sticky so application is pretty easy on the face. The finish is matte, no white residue, and it makes the skin instantly smooth and ready for makeup application! It's lightweight too! The scent is barely there, but I do smell a bit of alcohol there... because there is alcohol here. I know that many avoid skincare with alcohol since it might dry the skin, but so far, I don't have a problem with it and I'm almost done with the whole bottle.

It does have oil control, but I also try to use makeup that also help control sebum production like adding powder. The waterproof part is pretty hard to test so I can't really guarantee you guys about that claim. It does do a good job as a makeup base because my skin just feels so smooth but the "evening-out of skin tone" claim part is questionable since this is sheer and I really don't see the difference.

As mentioned, I am almost done with the whole bottle and I didn't encounter any irritations, and breakouts! Yay!

So here's a summary of my experience with the Biore UV Perfect Face Milk:

What I LIKE:

- Provides SPF50 and PA++++
- Oil control
- Locally available
- Waterproof? (maybe)
- Matte and smooth finish
- Affordable
- Easy to use packaging (easy-squeeze with thin nozzle)
- Lightweight
- Moisturizing
- No breakouts nor irritations
- No white residue when applied

What I DON'T LIKE:
- Nothing, really.

I really like this sunscreen to be honest. Having oily skin and as a makeup enthusiast, this product is just awesome! The amount of sun protection it provides is just enough for everyday (although for longer periods of exposure to the sun, especially on places like the beach, I still recommend something with stronger protection). This is a multipurpose product and I definitely recommend you check it out!

My 2015 Summer Skincare

 Hey dears!

The summer has been a pain for me. Yes, I don't like summer. I don't like swimming in a pool, not even at a beach (I'll just probably take photographs and build a sand castle then go back in my room). I just don't like outdoor activities, but what I hate most is the heat! I'm always sweating and for some reason, my skin reacts badly when it's summer... I get breakouts! Ugh.

But for this year, I was prepared! My skin was much better compared to previous years, which is great considering the temperature for this summer is higher. Anyway, I'll share with you the products I'm currently using. :)

For cleaning, I use these cleansers on my face.

I use this for cleansing in the morning:
Burt's Bees Cleanser (click the product name for my review)

And before sleep, I use this. It really takes care of the dirt that has accumulated throughout the day:

For the body, I'm currently using these Kala Milk soaps that was given to me almost two weeks ago. I like how it keeps my skin moisturized while it cleans. I like milk soaps and I hope you guys can wait for my review on these soaps.

I also use liquid soaps with my loofa. I use the moringa scent from The Body Shop.

For moisture on the face, I use these Clarins products:

Vital Light Day and Vital Light Night and then to treat my dark spots from acne, I use the Vital Light Serum. It takes a while to see a difference on my dark spots but I think it works.

I also use the Clarins Toning Lotion as my toner. I was able to buy all these Clarins products while I was in the US for a vacation and they were on sale! Yay!

For my eyes, I use The Body Shop's Drops of Youth (Click the product name for my review).

And since I have acne-prone skin, my sister sent me this:

Perter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads
I swear, these pads are the bomb! They are soooo effective! Hopefully I can post a more detailed review soon. :D

For exfoliation, I turn to these samples that my sister gave me. I only have one sachet left though. ExfoliKate really works great on my skin. (Click the product name for my review)

I also pamper my skin with masks! I am currently using two kinds of masks:

Borghese Fango Active Mud Face and Body

and
Dewins Q10 Coenzyme Mask Pack

I will review these masks soon. I already have the photos ready! Haha! The mud mask is for further cleaning and purifying of pores, while the Q10 one is more for deep moisturization and firming.

Of course, I have products that protect me from the sun!

Belo SunExpert for my body and I use these Bioré products on my face! :D

Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence (click the product for my review)

I have uneven skin on my face, arms, body, and legs. My legs are too pale so they look awkward when I wear skirts and dresses. I want to tan them a little and I'm happy I was able to see these products at half price:
I use the deep tan oil every morning when I wear clothes that exposes my legs. I then use the suncare milk on top to prevent damage and after the day, I use the after sun. Haven't seen the need for the cooling gel yet. :P

For my body, I moisturize it with The Body Shop's Body Sorbet. It's not too moisturizing but it comforts me because it cools the skin and it smells soooo good.
I also use the Robinsons Giant Sale Shopping Foot Lotion.

Finally, I use my The Body Shop Moringa Hand Cream to pamper my hands. I always draw and paint and since my hands are constantly exposed to chemicals, I use hand creams to keep them soft. Moringa is one of my favorite scent from TBS so it also comforts me when I smell the glorious floral scent!

And those are my skincare products for the summer season this year. I already reviewed some of them so you can just click and read the reviews for more details. For the other items I haven't reviewed, I'm trying to write my thoughts about them and I hope I can post them soon. :)

Have you tried any of the items listed? What are your summer essential products?

Cheers,
DAWN

Review : Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence

Hello loves!

Are you enjoying summer so far? I haven't. LOL

My classes in grad school just finished so it is only now that I can start planning some exciting activities... although I can't do much since I still got office work every weekdays. Anyway, I'm not really a summer person. I don't like outdoor activities, especially the intense heat and sun during this season. I absolutely do not like going out at all. Not only will I get all sweaty and melted makeup, the sun will also damage my skin big time. And that is why wearing sunscreen with high SPF and PA is a must!

I always wear sunscreen but I make sure that I wear a minimum of SPF50 nowadays because of the intense sun even if I'm just at the office. The one I'm currently using is this...

Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence
Php 420.00

I received this as a gift from the brand. I'm so happy that Bioré has arrived to Philippine shores because I became an instant fan of their sunscreens when I first tried their face milk  two years ago.

But the one I'll be sharing a review of is a different version. It is water-based which I think complements my oily skin better.

What made me excited to try this besides being water-based is that it promises to be as light as water. Since the heat of the summer makes me sweat a lot, I don't like that I feel sticky with all the product I apply to my face so a sunscreen with a lighter consistency might help avoid the icky feeling from happening.

Actually, Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence promises more exciting benefits. Read the labels of the packaging below to find out what they are:

So it's light on skin, gentle and allergy tested, and also acts as your moisturizer! Awesome! This contains unique aqua micro capsules that release moisture when applied. It contains hyaluronic acid which is known to be an anti-aging ingredient because it can retain over a thousand times it weight in water within the cells of the skin. Interesting, right?

The product is housed in a tube which I find very easy to use. It's easy to squeeze out the product and you can control the amount you get. I like that it doesn't leak on the cap too. The design is very simple and clean. I prefer products that look classier but a clean design is perhaps a good thing when it comes to skincare products.

Here's what the product looks like. A translucent gel-like substance at first but when you spread it on skin, it feels like water. You can immediately feel a cooling sensation which will last a few seconds and then you just feel that the product has been absorbed by the skin. The milky translucent colors becomes colorless when spread out. It doesn't leave your skin looking whiter like some sunscreens. I really, really appreciate that quality since I don't like my face looking whiter than what it normally looks. Spreading it evenly on skin is much easier because it's not creamy and greasy at all. And also, the scent is barely noticeable.

Does it feel light on skin? It absolutely does! It feels like you're not wearing anything at all! Did I experience any skin irritation? Nope! It is very gentle. Does it hydrate the skin? I think it gives decent amount of moisture. I already have oily skin though, it might not be enough for those with dry skin. Better to add a stronger moisturizer underneath if you need more hydration. Finally, does it provide enough protection? I believe it does! I walk back and forth across the UST field during the noon sun for the past couple of days and my skin didn't get tanner, it didn't get red from the sun damage... so yeah, I think it did its job very well.

What I LIKE:

- Provides SPF50 and PA+++
- Affordable
- Locally available
- Easy to use packaging
- Feels light on skin
- Provides hydration
- Gentle and allergy tested
- Gives a bit of a cooling sensation upon application
- Doesn't make the skin white

What I DON'T LIKE:

- Well, it's not really a con since they don't promise this but this is not waterproof nor water resistant so if you sweat a lot, you might have to reapply more frequently. I guess this is also not a go-to product if you will go swimming.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely. I really like how light it feels and this is my current everyday sunscreen! :D I definitely recommend this!
