Review: Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation

I wasn't planning on buying anything vanity related when I went to SM Mall of Asia last week, but as I passed by Watsons and saw the Majolica Majorca stall, it was quite difficult for me to ignore it, especially because I was happy with the last purchases I had from them.

I was so intrigued with their foundation, not just because of the gold, embossed package design, but because of the pore covering quality it claims it could do. The friendly saleslady (I forgot her name... sorry!) was so accommodating and answered all my questions and even told me about their promos. Anyway, without much hesitation, I bought one with the uber pretty packaging as well. :P

Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation
Php 450.00 - packaging
Php 895.00 - foundation

The color I bought is in OC10

Here's a closeup shot of my cheeks. as you can see, I have huge pores. That's why I wanted to try this product so much.

Here's a swatch of the foundation on my palm.
A - applied thickly
B - when blended

swatch on paper

They provided instructions on how to properly use the foundation. Here's what it says:

To use:
-Apply foundation after balancing skin with skin care products and makeup base.
-Take the foundation onto the 1/2 of the sponge evenly (for one side of the cheek) and apply from the center of the face outwards. After the cheek is finished, take up the same amount of foundation and apply it to the other side. With remaining foundation on the sponge, apply over forehead, areas around eyes, nose and mouth.
*For more coverage, take up a small amount and apply it to the concerned area.

And here are more helpful tips from Majo Majo:
-Always keep the sponge clean as a soiled sponge does not pick up the powder well.
-When the puff is soiled, cleanse in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent as gently pressing it. Rinse thoroughly and remove excess water and allow it to completely dry away from the direct sunlight before use.

So here's a pick of my face with foundation. One with the usual foundation I use and, after rinsing it all over, with the Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation. I had to use a liquid foundation first because I have waaay too much dark spots from acne, mostly near the jawline.

1 - Mac studio fix liquid foundation in NC25 with Fashion 21 Loose powder in Medium
2 - Thinly applied Mac studio fix liquid foundation in NC25 and topped with Majolica Majorca Skin Remaker Pore Cover Foundation in OC10

*No concealer used in both pictures

What Majo Majo says about this product:
A foundation that evens out pores in a single stroke and provides a long-lasting fine-textured smooth skin.

Here's a pic of my cheeks (although in a different angle) when I applied the foundation. It did somehow conceal some of the huge pores. :)

Here's the finish with full makeup. Yes, I go to school with full makeup. haha!

And to test if it really is long lasting, I challenged it (and myself) by not retouching the whole time I was out. It was from 2pm- 8pm.

6 whole hours of no retouching. A bit oily but my skin still looks good in my opinion.

What I like about it:
  • Very smooth
  • Covers my pores
  • Long-lasting
  • Medium coverage (I still need my handy liquid foundation)
  • LOVE the packaging, very princessy
  • Affordable (Php 895.00) although it is a bit pricey than the one I used before :P
  • It comes with a really good sponge
  • Has SPF 18

What I don't like about it:
  •  Would have loved it more if it has better oil control :P
  • Majo Majo aren't widely available-- yet! More of their stores to open! check it out at their facebook page!
  •  It's so good that I might to buy one soon. HAHA!
The verdict? Another happy customer for Majo Majo. I really love this product. Will definitely repurchase this one. I'm actually loving every single Majo majo purchase I have. It's beginning to be one of my well-loved brands! Who knows, might turn into brand-loyalty. :P

  1. Great review! Looks good. :)

I want to try their pressed powder though and I've also been meaning to try this powder foundation. If I do, I might skip buying the compact because even though I think it's cute, I find it flashy. Baka maging mitsa ng buhay ko since it's gold. Haha! :)

  10. Interesting product, I'll give this product a shot. And it's less than a hundred pesos from the L'Oreal foundation you just reviewed earlier. Hehe!
