MAC Studio Mist Blush in Peach Spritz

Hello ladies,

It's been a while since my last post. Been really busy the past weeks. Anyway, here's a mini review of  MAC Studio Mist Blush in Peach Spritz. It's my first time using a spray on blush and well, I got pretty excited about it.

The packaging is just as what you'd expect of MAC products and for spray ons so nothing special about it.

Here is a simple instruction on how to apply and also warning/precautions on the product.

The ingredients

Here are the swatches, this one is sprayed on my hand... I'm around NC30-35

Here it is sprayed on Dawn's arm... She's NC25.

And here it is when spread/applied.

I love the color of this blush. However, all my excitement over the innovative blush went away after my first use. It's really hard to control the amount that gets sprayed on your hand. It's even harder to get it onto your cheeks quick enough and even enough. This blush takes skill and precision to be applied on your face and acheive the same effect as a normal powder blush. Thus I do not recommend it for newbies or for those who do not have any experience whatsoever with quick drying make ups or spritz make ups.

The only real good thing I can say about this blush is that the color is wonderful, long lasting, and the product is available locally and in varied shades and colors.

So in summary

What I like:
1. The idea of spray on blush is cool
2. Love the color
3. Long lasting

What I don't like:
1. Hard to control the amount
2. Hard to apply on cheeks from sprayed amount on hand
3. Dries to quickly
4. Takes precision and skill
5. Expensive

I still prefer the good old powder blush... How about you guys?

Cheers,
LIZ

  4. I never knew that MAC made such a thing. Maybe spray onto a stippling brush and then apply?

  5. It looks cool but I think make-up artists who use airbrush will benefit more from this. Think I'll stick with the powder and cream :D nice review!

  6. I miss leaving comments on your blog! I'm finally back to blogging ! ^_^ This product looks interesting but then again since it looks kinda wasteful, this product could be used only for special events.

I should get my hands on this one pretty soon but I probably have to really be taught by the MAC mua on how to use it effectively.

  7. I've seen couple of makeup artist apply this using a damp wedge sponge. They just spritz the blush on to the sponge. it really gives a natural flush on the cheeks.

  8. Looks like an innovative product, but I guess it takes a lot of practice before you could use it well... Not unless I want to waste product just for practicing, I'd still go for powder blushes! =D

  10. This is an interesting product, it's the first time I heard about it. :) The color is pretty, but I can imagine how hard it would be to get this to apply evenly and precisely.

  11. Thanks for the comment guys. I'm just a bit sad that the product seemed wasteful... I haven't really had time to ask the MAC mua on how to put it on skillfully since this was gifted to me. Hopefully one of us finds a good way of putting it on. :)

@hollie - that's a great idea. Will probably try that one sometime next week then update. Thanks so much for that!
