Sephora: Retractable Eyeliner, Waterproof in Matte Deep Plum (21)

Good evening ladies,

My friend recently got back from her elective rotation in the states and she bought tons of make-up from there. So I borrowed some of them to share to you.

This plum colored eyeliner reminded me of the plum liner I used to have. Anyway, it's fairly easy to use as it glides easily over the lids and colors well. Like most eyeliner it's double ended with the smudge-brush on the other end.

I do feel like the product is a little shorter than what I expected. I don't think it would last me very long. But it is a good product and it colors well.

It's somewhat smudge proof as I tried rubbing it off a few times and it was still there.

But since people usually rub their eyes vigorously, like my friend, it's not really as long lasting.

Here it is applied on the eye.

The color is great and all. I do like it but I had t give it back. Hope there are products similar to this locally, and hopefully with prices that are cheaper than this one.

Play With Colour : The Body Shop Hair Chalk in Falling For Blue

Hello loves!

The Body Shop just released their Spring Trend Makeup Collection. The front runner is none-other than their newest product—Hair Chalk! A small tub is worth Php 695.00. Along with the hair chalks, The Body Shop also included 2 sets of shimmer cubes and 2 lipglosses in the collection.

So a couple of weeks ago, The Body Shop sent me a package containing one of each product included in their Spring Trend Makeup Collection. And here's one of them...

Since it's the newest product and it's a limited edition, I used it right away after opening the package.

It's housed in a simple, round, clear container. You can see the rich, blue color of the product. "Play with Color" is certainly a fitting tagline to this pretty thing.

This hair chalk is pretty simple to use. Just follow these three steps!

Falling For Blue

and Tickle Me Pink

I'd love to try the pink one but the blue that I have is just equally gorgeous.

Here I just highlighted my hair with few blue streaks.

I thought I would look weird with blue strands on my hair but I actually find it fun-looking.

And in here I try to make it ombre-like.

And oh, I used the shimmer cubes and lipgloss included in the collection that The Body Shop sent me in these photos. Reviews will be posted soon. :)

I even added some on my bangs but just while I'm writing this post, I realized that there's a streak of hair on my bangs that's not evenly applied. Haha!

What I realized with hair chalk is it makes my dry hair noticeable. Haha! But it still looks playful and I have some creative makeup looks in-mind where this can be handy. I don't think I can use this for everyday looks a.k.a. office looks but I can definitely see myself having some blue highlights while doing my shopping, partying, watching a concert or just hanging out with friends. 

But just like any other hair chalks, this transfers to clothes. Avoid wearing dark and very light clothes. Safest ones are probably blue-colored ones, especially printed ones. Always set this with hair spray for it to stay longer and it's not waterproof so avoid using this when it's the rainy season.

ARTDECO Glam Stars Liquid Eye Liner

Swatch post time again! :P

Sharing with you this awesome deal I got at Beauty Bar last December. Bought this little thing for only Php 150.00.

ARTDECO Glam Stars Liquid Eye Liner

I bought it just because I find the color pretty. I don't have glitter liners in this color so it's a nice addition to my collection.

The applicator is thin brush so it's easy to manipulate the lines you will create with it.

The glitters are fine and it looks really gorgeous. I like using it below my lower lash line. But this liner doesn't stay long. I only see few glitters left by the end of the day. :|

Anyway, still glad I bought this. I like doing the "teardrop" liner effect using this when I have a neutral eyeshadow look going.

This is Php 350.00.

I wasn't familiar with the brand and was curious to try something new that's why I got this one. Of course I made a few research on this. Here's a product description I got from Glamourbox:

Give shape & definition to your peepers with these waterproof eye liners! Its gel formula gives a softer appearance than liquid eyeliners and glides on more easily. Create a bold, dramatic look with a thick line, or a more natural look with a finer stroke!

If you look at the packaging, it looks like the usual eyeliner pencil...

But up close, it's not a pencil that you need to sharpen... it's actually a twist-up eyeliner. Yay that I don't have to exert effort to sharpen it. :P Lazy me approves!

I like that it's a gel liner but in a pencil form and not in the usual gel liner pot. It's easier to carry around and apply. You don't need to bring or use an eyeliner brush!

Here's how long the product is.

And for the fun part, the swatches!

Here it is on my arm. Top one is swatched multiple times, the bottom line is swatched ones.

It gives a very bold, black finish. It's definitely something I like for my eyeliners. And this glides smoothly on the skin! And oh, you need to wait for a few seconds to a whole minute for it to dry after application.

So let's see how long-lasting this thing is...

Very minimal fading but no smudge! Very impressive, right?

Placed under running water

Still no smudging!!! I was already amazed at this point.

Rubbed while wet

A little more fading but still no smudge. Now I'm really, really, SUPER impressed!

Rubbed with a towel while wet

Barely any smudging but it did fade a lot by now. Still, wow!

But on my oily lids, I get very minimal smudging but I barely use this on the upper lid. I usually use this on the waterline and lower lid. Still, this is probably one of the few eyeliners  I've tried that have powerful staying power. I'm very, very impressed with how durable this is when worn. You can remove it with soap and water but it'll be easier to remove with makeup remover, especially the oil type ones. 

What I LIKE:

- Impressive staying power

- Very bold black color

- Glides smoothly on skin

- Affordable

- No need to sharpen

- Locally available

- Waterproof

- Available in 2 shades

What I DON'T LIKE:

- Too few places on where to get this. I don't even know if they have a physical store in the Philippines

So are you as impressed as me with this product? My sister, Trace is. She even took this back to Australia with her. Huhuhu... Now I'm forced to buy another one. Haha!
