Tony Moly Tony Lab AC Control Whitening Emulsion

Hi loves!

Enjoying the cool weather lately? I know I am!
But there are instances that cold weather can dry the skin, so make sure you get to apply some moisturizer on your skin daily! And I'm not talking just at night but during the day too.

I got oily skin and some moisturizers feel too thick when I use it during the day, especially when I wear makeup over it. That's why I prefer using emulsions like this one from Tony Moly...

Tony Moly Tony Lab AC Control Whitening Emulsion
Php 848.00

An emulsion is a lighter version of a moisturizing cream. It's ideal for sensitive skin or for those who dislike applying thick creams.

Below is the product description for added info on the product.

The packaging is very similar to its toner counterpart. I love how clean it looks and I also love that it has a pump.

The scent is very mild that you can hardly smell anything when you apply it. The consistency looks creamy but it's actually light. It is watery when you spread it and it gets absorbed quickly by the skin.

I use it under my makeup and I don't have any problems with it affecting my foundation whatsoever. I've used this for 2 months now and I didn't encounter any irritations or breakouts from this product.

I am very satisfied with the moisturization it gives my skin. No greasy feeling even with my oily skin. What I love about this is that I notice my skin looking brighter especially when I pair it with the toner! Yay! Like, like, like!

Do you use emulsions too? Would you consider trying this one as well?

Cheers,

Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moisturizer

Hey dears!

This product was sent to me for review by Etude House PH last month. I believe that this is one of the products they've released recently. I was really curious about this because of the claims that it is made of 54% baobab water. I actually didn't know about this ingredient and had to do some readings online. It turns out, according to this article, that baobab is a fruit that has one of the highest amount of antioxidants and vitamin C. These factors boosts or stimulates collagen production which highly benefits the skin.

Knowing about those skin benefits, I was super excited to try the product out. But before we proceed, let's check out what the press release says:

PURE WATER BAOBAB MOIST LINE
Baobab is a tree commonly found in Africa, popular for the life-sustaining water in its trunk and branches. Etude House harnessed the power of this tree plus moringa seed extract to purify and moisturize the skin. It’s also hypoallergenic, making it perfect for dry and sensitive skin. To achieve better results, it’s ideal to use the toner (Pure Water Baobab Moist Skin), emulsion (Pure Water Baobab Moist Moisturizer), and then the cream (Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream).

Pure Water Baobab Moist Skin (Php 578.00)
✦ Pure Water Baobab Moist Emulsion (Php 648.00)
✦ Pure Water Baobab Moist Cream (Php 798.00)

And below are the labels on the box:

The emulsion is housed in this clear, plastic bottle. I really like the design—it's simple and still girly. I especially like the cap because it makes the big difference in making the simple bottle look cuter.

But what I didn't like is that it doesn't have a pump or anything to dispense the product easier. You have to tilt it down and let the product pour out. It will be easy at first while the bottle is still full but if you're nearly finished with this, it will be a challenge to get the product out. Good thing that the emulsion isn't thick. :P

The consistency is unlike many of the moisturizers and emulsions I've tried. This is thinner or more watery that makes it so easy to spread on skin. It gets absorbed very fast by the skin and it has no sticky feeling as well. It barely has any scent too!

I like this product because it does give my skin enough moisturization without the feeling of greasiness or stickiness. I also like that it doesn't have any strong scents. What I like best is that it's affordable—the 180ml is only Php 648.00. I use this daily, usually before I put on my makeup. Although before I sleep, I use products that give more intensive hydration for my skin.

So what do you think of the Etude House Pure Water Baobab Moisturizer? Have you tried any product from this new line yet?

March 2014 Beauty Recipes (Skin Food) Saladbox

Hey loves!

My Saladbox for the month of March arrived this afternoon. I had mixed emotions while I was opening the package. Last month's box was a disappointment for me so I tried to lower my expectations and yet when I saw that the box was labeled with Skin Food's logo, I can't help but be excited.

The box was their usual box but with this cute Skin Food–Saladbox design. I like the Saladbox logo here with the lips on the letter O. It looks more chic and feminine and I think it is more suitable for a subscription box that delivers makeup, haircare, and skincare.

So let's open the box!

When you open it, you'll see the items covered with yellow crepe paper and sealed with a Saladbox sticker. There's also the usual monthly letter. Let's see what it says...

And here are the items included in the box plus the corresponding price of the regular size.

Everything inside is food for the skin! I'm currently obsessing with skincare so I'd like to try new products... who knows, I might discover a potential HG product!

Look at the pretty packages. There are boxes inside the box (lol).

The first thing you'll notice among the items inside is this Black Pomegranate Premium Kit. It's the biggest and it also has this super pretty design.

And when opened, you get a complete set of Black Pomegranate skincare!

Black Pomegranate Toner
Black Pomegranate Emulsion
Black Pomegranate Serum
Black Pomegranate Cream

Watery Berry Gift Set—Toner and Emulsion

And finally, the Black Sugar Perfect First Serum.
Excited to try this because it promises to exfoliate, brighten, smoothen wrinkles, and hydrate the skin! Probably why it has the words "perfect" and "No.1."

Cotton pads are also included for the serum!

And that's all. This box was a big step up from last month's box. I was left wanting more though. I know that Skin Food products are a bit expensive but I just wanna try more! Haha! I would also appreciate it if there was a full-sized product included like those from previous boxes... but I'm satisfied nonetheless! Thanks, Saladbox! :D
