NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania

Hi dears!

I've been loving really dark lipsticks lately and the one I'll be sharing today is something I've been using often. I really like how dark it is but can still be worn casually (at least for my taste), unlike those shades that are almost black or too chocolatey...

So here's the...

 NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in Transylvania

I bought it for around P300 at the SM Department store, SM North. But you can purchase this in a more affordable price at some online stores.

I've been a fan of some of the shades of the Soft Matte Lip Cremes. You can check them out here.

But the main reasons why I love this product are that it has great lasting power, the matte finish is beautiful, inexpensive, the scent is very yummy, and application is very easy. :)

It's been a while since I bought another one though (almost three years!). But I just can't ignore this one when I passed by their stall. The color looks black but when I swatched it, it gives a dark, bloody, plum color! Rawr!

Gorgeous, right? I just gotta have it when I swatched it on my hand.

It really looks awesome when applied it's just that it really shows when I have dry lips so better moisturize them first. :D

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream VS ELF Studio Lip Stain

Hello, Lovelies!

I've mentioned before that we've been fans of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams...

although I'm still willing to try other matte lippies out there.

So when I went to Watsons one day, I saw this Lip Stain from E.L.F. Studio. I asked tthe Saleslady which shade was their best-seller and pointed me to the Fashionista one.

So I bought it and when I got back home, turns out, it's color was soooo close to my NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo!

Oh well...

So I just had this crazy idea to do a

BATTLE OF THE LIP CREAMS!

Let's look at each product more closely, shall we?

First off is the E.L.F. Lip Stain in.

FASHIONISTA

It actually comes with a gloss too!

What E.L.F. Studio Lip stain says (with directions in applying):

It's Php249.50.00 each.

Availability?

You can find E.L.F. stalls in almost all Watsons Beauty Section and the lip stains rarely gets out-of-stock.

The applicator?

The foam is not as soft as the other. I'm not so sure if it's the consistency of the product or the brush but it really tickles my lips whenever I apply the product. I find it annoying actually.

Consistency?

Compared to the NYX Soft Matte Cream, this has thinner consistency. BUT it results to almost the same opaqueness. It also dries faster.

Lasting Power?

Lasts the whole day when alone than when with gloss. Lips can get chappy and can also get some lip bleedings.

*Tip for the gloss: Apply it a few minutes after the lip stain has dried to avoid the gloss mixing with the stain just like what happened to mine. Haha!

The applicator?

I find this one better. The foam is softer and I can apply the product on my entire lips with just 1 coat.

Consistency?

This one is a bit thicker. It's also very opaque.

Lasting Power?

Also lasts the whole day. Can dry lips and make it chappy and causes lip bleeding too.

Both of the products 

are VERY matte.

They both have very solid colors.

They both have very faint smell although the NYX one has a sweeter kind of smell.

So who wins in which category?

So who wins?

Well, I gave more hearts to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream.

But to be honest, I don't really mind using which.

I don't really prefer one more than the other that much... probably just the smell cuz I really like how the NYX smells.

I'd still buy other colors from both brands. :)

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

Hi, girls!

This post is not really a review. More likely a post of swatches. :P

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream has been quite popular in the past few months that even we got to purchase some to try them out (bought them online). We've had these lip creams for around 4 months now and I've seen quite a lot of bloggers posting reviews about it. :P

Anyway, we really like these lippies. It's inexpensive, long-lasting, very matte and really pigmented. Pretty much what you consider very important in choosing a matte lippie. The only problem we get is the drying of lips or sometimes the lip bleeding we get after some time.

So here are the shades we bought:

Addis Ababa, San Paulo, Monte Carlo

Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa is a cool fuchsia color. It's somewhat the reason we got addicted to fuchsia.

San Paulo

San Paulo is a warm pink shade. 

Monte Carlo

Monte Carlo sort of has a shade close to the color of red wine.

We would want to try out other shades but we are currently drowning on lippies because of the sudden purchases we did. Haha! Hopefully it would take a while for us to purchase a lippie again because I really have no idea what to do with the older ones. o.O

FOTD: My Vibrant Pink Lips

Last Thursday, I was reviewing my Majo Majo foundation when my classmates, even our guidance counselor, noticed my makeup and they loved it! I've had so many compliments that day that I just have to make it an FOTD post! :P

Here was my look that day:

 Mirror reflection shots. The mirror is quite dusty. :P

 They loved the lipstick most of all! It's actually the Peachy Pink Sisters' current favorite lipstick shade! haha... (sounded corny) :P
