MAC gifts from my other aunt.

Hello ladies!

Sorry for my apparent absence. I had been really busy the past weeks with all the packing plus classes have already started. Anyway, my Canada Trip would not be complete without a MAC stuffs. Here it is:

These were not purchased and were given to me as gifts. They're all brand new and I can't wait to try them out. :)

Sorry for the dark photos... they looked so vibrant in the camera, guess I should have used the flash. All of these will be reviewed except for the eye shadow as I'll be gifting that to the person who lent me her suitcase. Anyway, can't wait to try all of the new make up stuffs I brought back! I'm just waiting for my skin and eyes to go back to normal as Canadian weather dried them both out.

Cheers,
LIZ

ALDO Haul

Hi ladies!

Ok, I promise this is the last post of mine that does not contain any make up related stuff (except if Dawn'll tell me to make a pasalubong post.) I just had to post this cause I hit a pop up sale.

Cocktail rings for Dawn's collection.

A really nice belt for me cause I don't have a belt with this color.

And a pair of wedge to go with the belt. :)

We actually bought 3 pairs of shoes but I won't be posting the other two since they're pasalubong for my cousin and aunt and I don't want to spoil the surprise.

I was so happy with my purchases that day all because I got a nice deal out of everything. Also, SAs in the Aldo store were very helpful and nice. Actually in every store I've been to, everyone's so nice, well, Canadians are known for that. :)

I'd like to thank ERIN, the SA from the Aldo store in Yorkdale Mall who helped me while I was there. :) Hope you're reading this and hope you follow our blog too. :)

Oh, one last. I've been treated to so many good food places that I'd really want to put them here but thought better not to so here's a sample of the many yummy foods I've had the good chance to taste for free (libre ng mga tito at tita :) )

Well, that's it for me! Have a good day everyone! :)

Cheers,
LIZ

Haul Post: First Sephora Visit

Bonjour bellas!

I did say I'd do some make up shopping here and I did. :) It's my first time visiting a Sephora store and the personnel there were really nice. Here are my purchases. :)

Benefit

Although I already have an Erase Paste and Girl Meets Pearls, I just had to buy the set since it's cheaper to buy it than when you buy the items individually. Plus what I was really after was the Porefessional make up base. :)

I've always wanted to get my hands on one of these. :)

Tarte

This one is not really part of my purchase. Sephora, as some/most of you might now gives out a gift on your birthday when you sign up to become their member. They were kind enough to still give me my birthday gift even though my birthday had already passed. :)

For the next years, I'll just have to ask my aunt to collect the gifts for me and probably buy me some thing from there when they have a sale. :)

Well, that's my little make up haul for now. Thanks a lot to my cousin for buying all these for me. Will still be visiting other make up places to buy cheaper ones. Anyway, if you want us to review something just tell us or if you want to suggest any make up purchases for future references do tell us. :) That's all ladies!

Cheers,
LIZ

Haul Post: La Senza DreamShapers

Hello ladies,

Yesterday we went out for a city tour of Toronto City proper. There were quite a few museums in Toronto and I was planning on visiting this one earlier today.

Unfortunately I was not able to visit this one. I was however able to visit Casa Loma Castle in Toronto. I got too happy and lost with the beauty of the castle that we ran out of time to visit the art gallery.

Anyway, along with my city tour yesterday was a short trip to Eaton Centre in Toronto. Will upload pictures of that place in our Facebook site, so going to the point of this post... I bought my third stick-on bra from La Senza.

Firstly, you might ask, "what the heck is a stick-on bra?" which was the first question my aunts asked me. Well, stick-on bras are exactly what their name suggests; you stick them on your breasts and voila, you're wearing a bra. It's for women who feel a little off with wearing nipple tapes when they have backless dresses. It's also an alternative for strapless bras when you feel like they always slip off. Below is a detailed instruction on the use of the bra, you may be able to understand how it is from there.

Next you might want to ask why third? Well, over the past 2 years - I think - I've acquired a few numbers of dress requiring such a bra. I bought a strapless dress for Dawn's fashion show back in the day and a friend lent me hers. Then I just suddenly found myself needing this particular bra either because I already have a dress which require it or I'm being given some. The first one I tried, not bought, was my friend's La Senza, same as the ones I bought. They worked so well I wanted a pair but they are expensive in the Philippines. They cost about 4000 Php. So I bought similar items from Bench and from Divisoria, and from what I've experienced, I DO NOT recommend buying those ever! Below the picture is a comparison of the three.
Description of the product in the back.

                                                     La Senza                       Bench                      Divisoria-bought
  • Price:                        Php 4000 (at least)/                   Php 400                        Php 100 - 300
                                           in Canada: 67 Ca dollars
                                           (tax inclusive)
  • Stickiness: (meaning how long does it last stuck on your breast preventing a serious wardrobe malfunction)
at least 4 or 5 hours,          2 - 5 hours, but                Not even for
even if you're sweating       always felt as if                half an hour
                                                                                     they're about to fall off
  • Repeatability: (how often can you reuse it?)
as far as I know, my friend      once, the second              cry, because
had already used it thrice       time you use it,                 even the first
before she let me borrow it.    don't attempt to go out       time is a fail.

To sum it up, this La Senza DREAMSHAPER may be quite pricey but you get the best value for your money. The one who assisted me even told me that she's had hers for about a year and a half and it still sticks on like the first time use.

I am very happy with this purchase and I think it's a good investment. How about you guys? Ever tried wearing stick-on bras? If you have, do tell me about it.

Cheers,
LIZ

Liz First Trip Out of the Country

Greetings ladies!

How's the weather back home? It's currently evening here in Canada. Today I won't be putting up any reviews or swatches yet since we haven't really gone anywhere but my aunt's neighborhood.

So here's my first trip to Canada...

Did not sleep cause our flight was at 6:20 am going to Hong Kong... I came with my aunt

We left so early that we literally saw the sun rise.

Arriving in Hong Kong Airport, we almost got lost looking for our gate.

I was tempted to visit the many beauty shops in Hong Kong Airport but thought better to not get tempted into buying any. I will splurge once we get the chance to visit MAC here. :) Hehehe.

The flight over was very turbulent. We almost weren't able to get out of seats because the captain would PA every hour to strap in.
Here's our welcoming crew. My two aunts and Father Lorenzo.

We went straight to my Aunt's house in Canada. She lives in what the call stack condos. They say the weather's better now. It's not that cold anymore. Today the temperature is 23 degrees celsius, not that cold, but you'd still need to wear a coat outside.

Here's where my aunt's place is. I wonder why we don't have these kinds of houses in the Philippines.

It's spring time here and as you can see, flowers have started sprouting.

Here's some tulips for Dawn to look at. These belong to my aunt's neighbor.

I'll end my post with this. Tomorrow, which is later this night there, we're going down town to shop and tour. Hopefully, I get to buy make up stuffs already and make a haul post. :)

Cheers,
LIZ
