Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash

Hello dearies!

I was in a search of a new mascara when I saw the ad of The Luxury Brand sale a while ago. I thought that it would be a great opportunity to try a new mascara and get it for a huge discount. So while browsing the products on sale, I saw a set from Make Up For Ever called "Artistic Essentials." It comes with a lippie, eyeliner, powder, and a mascara. Everything, except for the liner are in deluxe sizes. I honestly prefer deluxe sizes because I like to try so many things! Haha! So i just thought that this is the perfect purchase to make because I rarely get the opportunity to buy something from MUFE (because I’m cheap lol) and I got four items too!

For this post, I’ll share my experience using the...

Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara

Let’s check the product details first:

Info from the website:

Excessive Lash creates long lasting panoramic volume that fans out for a truly dramatic, eye-opening effect. The no-smudge formula builds this intense lash look, while the exclusive slim double-fiber brush works to load from root to tip and ensure absolutely no clumps.

I love MUFE’s classy packaging. Yes, it’s not unique, but the logo (and probably the long name of the brand) has a strong brand recall for me and probably to many makeup enthusiasts because the look itself is already a classic.

Anyway, I have mentioned that i like a deluxe size, i like that the tube is non-bulky, and it’s easy to open but seals tightly.

It comes with an applicator where the spoolie is long but the bristles are short and close together.

I’ve liked mascaras with longer bristles because I thought that they help avoid the lashes to clump together. Since this one has shorter bristles, I thought might experience some clumps... but I didn’t! Let me show you what happened:

Bare lashes

When the lashes were curled

With one coat of mascara

Two coats of mascara

See? No clumping! The finish is so clean even with two coats. I’m inpressed! My lashes look so natural! I like how it made my lashes look thicker and darker and it looked like I wasn’t wearing any product. What I like even more is that it’s lightweight that it didn’t bring my curled lashes down. Awesome!

For the whole day of wear, I don’t experience any smudging or transfer on the lids too. It has great lasting power! It’s also easy to remove with a good makeup remover. I use my Bifesta cleansing water and it’s easy to completely remove this that I don’t have to worry that I rub-and-tug the skin around the eyes much—that area easily gets wrinkles so I always try to be gentle around the eye area.

The only thing that I don’t like is that it takes longer for me to coat the lashes, probably because the bristles are short, specially  on the tip and it gets tricky for me to apply at the inner and outer corners. Mascara is one of the last touches I put when I do my makeup so I tend to hurry in application (because I’m always almost late for work! Haha!). Maybe I’m just used to bigger mascara wands! Lol

So if you like natural but volumized looking lashes, then this is something I would recommend. If you like more dramatic lashes with all the length and crazy volume, maybe you should try something else. I appreciate both kinds of mascaras, but the thing is, i can just wear falsies if I want all that drama for my lashes! Haha!

And that’s my review of the Make Up For Ever Excessive Lash Mascara!

Cheers,
DAWN

  1. Hope you could compare and recommend a mascara that will make the curl last all day. i have the maybelline and unfortunately it doesn't hold the curl for too long just over an hour and my lashes are straight already.

    1. I really like Max Factor's Falsh Lash Effect! If you're willing to try mascaras that can be harder to remove, then you can try the Majolica Majorca Lash King or Heroine Make mascaras. :)
